The principal's newsletter updates parents on recent events at the school and important upcoming dates. It notes that the school is halfway through the current term and expresses condolences for the recent passing of Mrs. Doherty's husband. The newsletter also provides information about various school activities, including cross country, milk and winter sports programs, and an assembly visit. It reminds parents about uniform requirements and chocolate fundraisers. Important dates are listed and a math curriculum information evening is announced.
1. Dear Parents/Caregivers
I hope you have all enjoyed a warm and
relaxing Queen’s Birthday Weekend. It is hard
to believe that at the end of this week we will
be halfway through the term.
We were saddened over the past fortnight
with a death of Mrs Doherty’s husband Paul,
who died after a long illness. Paul was a lovely
man with a great sense of humour and he will
be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Mrs
Doherty at this very difficult time. The
School Parent Support Group has kindly
delivered food and flowers on our behalf.
The Cross Country will be held for the senior
school tomorrow. We have a number of our
students who now participate in Club Harriers
so the standard continues to be very high.
The Milk in Schools Programme seems to be
going very well with the children enjoying the
opportunity to have free milk alongside their
Brain Break food.
It is very pleasing to see the large number of
students participating in Winter Sports this
term. We are very lucky in Invercargill to have
such a wide range of opportunities for our
children. A highlight for our students was the
visit by Dillon Boucher from the New Zealand
Breakers last Friday to our School Assembly.
Have a great fortnight.
Kind Regards
Wendy Ryan
Principal
