- 31. URETHRA • Thin-walled tubethat carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body by peristalsis • Release of urine is controlled by two sphincters – Internal urethral sphincter (involuntary) – External urethral sphincter (voluntary) ANATOMY h_noveno@hotmail.com 31
