Israel And Palestine Conflict Between Palestine And Israel
Since 1967 the borders between Palestine and Israel have been unfair. The Israeli people have taken
a majority of the Palestinians land. This had caused conflict between these two territories for years.
The Israel and Palestine conflict has been going on for many decades and nothing seems to be able
to solve this issue. All because the Israeli government is very stubborn. They are not willing to make
a compromise in this situation. The main issues between the Palestinians and the Israelites are;
Israel has been unfair to the Palestinians and have taken the land which used to be their own. Not
only has Israel created unfair boundaries but, they are also reluctant to let outsiders into Jerusalem.
A place that is not only religiously important to the Jews but also to the Arabs. And above all of that
Palestinian people feel as if they have to live in fear from the Israeli people. Israel militia has shot at
mothers and children. These problems are still prevalent today; if we can solve the unfair borders,
Jerusalem, and security we could have a safer Middle East. Before 1947 Palestine owned all of
Israel including , the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Israel. But in 1947 that all changed when the
United Nations divided up the land. They gave "55 percent of Palestine to a Jewish state." –
Negotiations Affairs Department. When only one third of the population was Jewish. After these
events the Jews wanted even more land and eventually Israel became about. Israel had "control over

Assyria In Israel
3.1. Where is the passage set? Jonah preceded Amos and ministered under Jeroboam II, Israel's most
powerful King (793–753 B.C.; 2 Kings 14:23–25). Assyria was Israel's great enemy; it conquered
Israel in 722 B.C. Nineveh's repentance must have been short– lived, for it was destroyed in 612
B.C.
3.2. Where was this passage written? 785–760 B.C Nineveh.
3.3. Does this explain anything within the text or about its overall meaning?
It explains that Israel was great enemies with the Assyrians but they lost and got conquered by them.
Through this occupation the Israel people are scattered marrying off to foreign women and losing
their face as the people of God. God knows how to punish and forgive people depending on if they

Israel and Iran Relations
Reading the media headlines today and spotting names of countries such as Israel and Iran one
would expect the article to be on their disputes or their ongoing nuclear power conflict. Due to the
many differences that countries have cultural, religious, political and economic have influenced
their relationship in so many ways throughout the history. Going back to the initial establishment of
a Jewish country in the Middle East in 1917 when the Balfour Declaration was introduced with the
purpose of doing that in Palestinian land the hostile relationships among Jewish and the Muslim
world began. As Palestinian people never accepted for Israeli to take parts of their territory, since
1947 until today Israeli is on conflict terms with most Muslim countries. Taking into consideration
the historical timeline of brutal conflicts of Israel with many Arab countries, specifically Iran and
Israel have not always been particularly on bad terms. David Menashri, an Israeli expert on Israeli–
Iranian relation, said that "in the back of the historical memory of the Israelis, when you speak about
Iran, Iran is considered to be a good friend of Israel." (Sterling, 2012) These good relationships have
been largely formed based on their economic interests where they traded goods which were
significant to them such as Israeli weapons and Iran oil.
However, with the changing nature of historical events today we find Israel and Iran publically
declaring each other as enemies and constantly

The Issue Of Israel and Palestine
In 1993, in Oslo, Norway a historic peace agreement was secretly drawn up with the hopes of
bringing all the violence between the Palestinians and the Israelis to an end. Yasser
Arafat, the chairman of the PLO, and Yitzhak Rabin who was prime minister of Israel at the time
shook hands at the White House in front of President Bill Clinton to finalize the accords. This was
the first step towards peace in a long time between the warring nations, and one that many people
believed was going to bring an end to the fighting. These accords were significant because it was the
first time that Israel ever recognized the Palestinian Liberation Organization ... Show more content

He believes that he is right, and no one is going to change his opinion.
Ariel Sharon is a big bully. I do not justify Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians, and I do believe
that Yasser Arafat supported terror strikes, but Sharon knows that he has the upper hand in the whole
situation. America is going to stand behind Israel, so Sharon makes all these crazy demands from
the Palestinians. He will give them some of their land, but Israel will control the air space in the new
Palestinian territory. Of course Palestine is not going to agree to that, demands like that are absurd,
but Sharon has the world on his side because when he blows up a house full of Palestinians, it is
referred to as a military action, but when Palestinians attack Israel it is looked at as terrorism.
President Bush and his cabinet of maniacs has created this entire scare of terror attacks, and Ariel
Sharon was the first person to jump on that bandwagon. This was exactly what he needed to justify
Israel beating up on Palestine and taking control of Palestinian land. The United States spawned all
of the enemies that we are fighting with today by giving them aid. They gave aid to the Taliban to
fight the Soviets during the cold war, they gave millions of dollars and arms and supplies to Saddam
Hussein to help Iraq win the war versus Iran. Almost every hijacker from the 9/11

Israel Geography
The Israelis have created a modern state; they have become the region's superpower and a homeland
for the Jewish religion. In the Middle East region with conflicting beliefs, ideas, and disputes for
land it is imperative for Israel to maintain a firm stance and be ready to deploy its military forces
when needed. The country of Israel uses its similar goals and interest with allies to ensure its lasting
security. This essay will discuss the physical environment, military history, and politics of Israel.
The land across Israel contains mountains and plains, fertile land, and deserts which are located just
minutes apart. Israel divides into three main regions lengthwise the coastal plain, the mountain

Conflict Between Israel And Israel
Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down
each subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of
one idea, desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient
country in South–West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country
divided between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South–West Asia on the
Mediterranean, formed as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and Palestinians,
have been fighting for decades. The main reasons include international agreement, borders,
economic security, water resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian
freedom of movement due to barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their
refugees. Of course, at one point in time there had to be peace. There wasn't always fighting and
clashing going on. This time of peace happened to be before a group of Zionists from Europe
decided to invade the land in attempt to make it "home" for the Jewish people. Eventually, fighting
broke out when the Arabs realized what was really going on and how it would affect their people
and community. As stated before, these two have been going at it for many many years so of course
there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between the Palestinians and Arabs took place in
1947–1949, also referred to as

Dbq Essay: Should Israel Receive Israel Back?
Ignorance is what the Palestinians have. They don't understand that Israel does not belong to them.
They acted violently towards the Israelis, abused them, and began a war in order to take over their
homeland. Therefore, I feel sympathy for the Israelis and believe they should have Israel back. They
should have it back because one, the birthplace of most Jewish people was in Israel, two, the Jews
converted the land to re–establish themselves and create a country, and three, in 1897 Theodore
Herzl, the first Zionist Congress, gave the Jewish people the right to a national rebirth in its country.
Therefore, Israel should be given back to the Jews. To begin with, most of the Jewish people were
born in Israel. There, they formed their spiritual, political, and religious identities. In document 1 it
is stated, "Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal
significance, and gave to the world the eternal books of books." That should come to the obvious
point that Palestine can't take over what is someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They used what they had to their advantage and worked hard to re–establish themselves in their
ancient homeland. They strove to make a successful country, as document 1 states, "They built
towns and created a thriving community controlling its own economy and culture," they brought
progress to all the country's people, and they sprouted an independent nation. The Palestinians have
to accept the matter of fact that whomever comes first is the one to be served and not the second, so
they must leave, for they are not served in Israel. Moreover, In 1897 Theodore Herzl, the first
Zionist Congress, gave the Jewish people the right to a national rebirth in their country. In document
1 it is stated, "...the right of the Jewish people to rebuild its National home." For that reason, the
Jewish people must have Israel back, and the Palestinians must give it

The Israel Conflict : Solving The Conflict In Israel
These two cultures have been through a conflict that has lasted for thousands and thousands of
years, and yet in those thousands of years the conflict has not really got any better, but now there is
a sense of urgency to solve the problem now. If the conflict is solved in Israel the world will be one
step closer to peace. This conflict can be dated back to the days before Jesus Christ when the
Israelites were promised the land that is now present–day Israel as their promised land, but as the
Jewish religion starts to grow, so does the hatred of the monotheistic religion. In the coming years,
Egypt will enslave all of the Jewish believers and bring them back to Egypt where they were used
for hard labor. This hard labor included building the Pyramids of Giza and anything else the King
needed for his needs. Years go on the Israelites are freed by Moses as they cross back to the
promised land. For the next thousand years, Jews are picked on again and again. Jesus is born and
about 34 A.D. the Jews put Jesus to death, and the entire religion is prosecuted for killing the Savior.
After that, the Israelites spread around the world, but mostly to Europe. During this time the Arab
religion forms and they claim the Israelites "Promised Land". Obviously, the Jewish culture doesn't
like this, and they go back to Israel to fight the Palestinians which is apart of the Ottoman Empire.
World War 1 breaks out and the Jews are being persecuted again. The fighting in Israel stops and the

Israel And The Holocaust
The history of the State of Israel and the Holocaust strongly correlate with each other. For one to
understand the State of Israel, one must look at in it relation to the Holocaust because Israel uses
defence techniques that it would not feel necessary if not for the Holocaust, the Holocaust has
changed the Jewish faith, and the Holocaust has caused issues with the overall view of the Jews.
Israel has used tactics to defend itself, and to get the international "right to exist". Israel has used
security tactics to feel safe, but these tactics are endangering the civil and human rights of the
citizens of Israel. "...No country has a recognized God–given or otherwise right to exist, only

Peace In Israel
Peace in Israel–Palestine: A Near Impossibility
There has been a Jewish state in Israel for 68 years, and since its creation, thousands have died from
the violence in the following years. The governments of Israel and Palestine are sworn enemies, and
nationalism is extremely high in both countries, weakening the possibility of compromise and
peace. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the current leader of Israel, is almost constantly
attacking Palestine with blame and insults. Across the border in the Palestinian state of Gaza,
Hamas, a group labeled as a terrorist group by most nations, holds complete power and conducts
attacks on innocent Israeli civilians such as missile attacks and organized suicide bombings and
stabbings. The region almost never seems to be at peace. Ceasefires and promises are broken,
civilians are killed, and blame is passed back and forth even more ... Show more content on

Therefore, peace in the Israel–Palestine region is sadly impossible, or next to impossible, due to the
inability to compromise, and the seemingly endless violence that only escalates the conflict even
more.
Compromise is defined as an agreement or a settlement of a disputed that is reached by each side
making concessions. The concept of compromise is usually successful in a political setting and has
settled disputes in the past. Examples include the Three–Fifths Compromise, the Compromise of
1850, and many more. Based on these successes (at least during their time), it seems clear that Israel
and Palestine can settle their dispute with a well written compromise. However, this situation is
different than situations in which compromise was made. For example, in the Three–Fifths
Compromise, the north conceded part of its belief that slaves should be able to vote, and the south,
part of its belief in the opposite. Contrastingly, both sides seem

On the first night of the talks, September 5th 1978, Carter met with Begin to discuss the Israeli
proposal for peace. Begin asserted that Israel's highest priority was guaranteeing security to its
people, which included keeping Israeli settlements in the Sinai territories. Additionally, Begin
wanted to retain Israeli airfields in the Sinai for between 3–5 years, after which Israel would agree
to a general demilitarization of the region. Carter found Begin's proposal to be inflexible and
discouraging. The next day Carter met with Sadat, who presented him with a detailed proposal of
Egypt's framework for peace. The proposal obliged a full Israeli withdrawal from all occupied
territories, removal of all Israeli settlements in occupied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Begin also reproached Carter for taking sides with the Egyptians. No formal meetings were held on
September 9th, however the Americans fleshed out their own proposal for peace. The following day,
the Americans presented their proposal to the Israeli delegation, which roused heated discussions
between the U.S. and Israel. This framework outlined that Israel was to restore Egyptian sovereignty
to the Sinai in exchange for Egypt's establishment of a full peace and normal relations with Israel.
The framework additionally proposed a five–year translational arrangement for the West Bank and
Gaza, resulting in the abolishment of Israeli military administration and establishment of a self–
governing authority in the West Bank and Gaza. The Israelis recommended multiple changes to this
framework, and on Sept. 11th Carter presented the Israeli–revised American proposal to Sadat.
Sadat responded that he might be willing to allow Israel to retain two of its airfields for three years
and Israeli settlers to remain in the Sinai for the same period of time. On September 12th, President
Carter presented his "Framework for a Settlement in Sinai" to Sadat and Begin, which comprised
Carter's own views on a potential solution. Sadat largely accepted this proposal, yet Begin found
fault with Carter's language surrounding Resolution 242 and even suggested Israel's willingness to
end the negotiations unsuccessfully. The next day, some progress was made as both sides agreed that

The Taglit-Birthright Israel
Introduction
Despite the ancient Jewish diaspora, in which the Israelites and Judahites were exiled from Judea,
the Land of Israel has continued to hold both cultural and religious significance for Jewish people
throughout the world, even in the modern day. This is demonstrated through the Zionist concept of
"making aliyah," sometimes known as "the act of going up," which equates the return of Jews to the
Land of Israel with a spiritual and cultural ascension. This is additionally supported by the Law of
Return, a piece of Israeli legislature which was introduced in 1950. The Law of Return supposes
that Jews have "a 'natural right' to return to their historic homeland," and thus grants any Jew, and
eligible non–Jewish spouses and children, the legal right to migrate to Israel and to instantly acquire
Israeli citizenship. While Judith Shuval argues that the uniqueness of these attitudes towards Jewish
migration are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Conflict : The Conflict Between Israel And Israel
The Middle East is said to the home of some of the holiest sites for people of Jewish, Christian, and
Muslim faiths. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is not one to take lightly.
There are faults on both sides. Israel is said to be "the holy land" for the Jews and was a gift from
God given to the Israelites who are the ancestors of the modern Jewish people ("Israel"). Many texts
state the boundaries of Israel, but they vary in where those boundaries lie. Although there are
frequent references to modern day Israel in both the Quran and Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad
(Islamic Association for Palestine). However, because neither of the three books have a set date as
to when they were written I believe that the land belongs to the Jews of Israel.
According to the Islamic Association for Palestine, " Palestine is the land of prophets who were sent
with the message of Islam and hence should not be ruled by anyone other than those who uphold the
message of Islam by implementing its laws and regulations." Muslims believe that Palestine should
be ruled by a Muslim leader not by a Jewish one. Palestine is a holy site in which many of the
prophets were either born there or died there. Palestine was brought under Muslim rule at the time
of Umar ibn al–Khattab, who was the second Khalifa of the Muslims. It was then made part of the
Islamic state and ruled by Islamic law. In 1517 the Ottoman Empire conquered what is now known
as Israel, and ruled it until the British conquered it

Essay On Israel Lobby
The US, as one of the most powerful actors in the world, has proved to be an important ally for
Israel. The origins of this relationship between Israel and the US go back to WWII, when American
Zionists began with an intensive propaganda campaign in 1943. Unlike the Zionists, the Arabs
almost completely lacked any activity. The campaign proved to be pretty successful and the Jewish
question was high positioned on the policy agenda one year later, when presidential elections were
coming. Another important factor for the focus on Israel was the fact that the US also had strategic
interests in the Middle East regarding the increasing exploitation of oil. American Jews, in contrast
with the Arabs, had a considerable amount of political influence (Wilson, 1972). This made it easier
for American presidents to carry out a more pro–Israel policy because, these Jews constituted a

they secure specially deals with the US and that the US provides Israel with consistent diplomatic
support. The powerful, well–organised Israel lobby in the US puts pressure on politicians to
continue this special policy attitude towards Israel. If politicians do not comply with the Israel–
lobby, the lobby has enough power to make life very difficult for these deputies. The lobby even
influences the peace process, by preventing US leaders from pressuring Israel to make peace. In this
way, the lobby has made it almost impossible for the US to play an active role in ending the Israeli–
Palestinian conflict. The lobby has made Israeli expansions in Palestinian territories easier, because
they prevent the US as a big player in the international community from posing sanctions on Israel

The Israel Lobby
One of the most talked about regions of the world in the realm of foreign policy is, of course, the
Middle East. Always on the brink of war and full of uncertainty there is at least one constant that the
world can be certain – the United States of America will support Israel in every way they can. From
$3 billion in assistance each year, to protecting Israel's interest in the United Nations, the United
States is backing Israel. John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt argue that this support for Israel comes
in large not from "shared strategic interests or compelling moral imperatives..." but from, as their
article is titled, "The Israel Lobby." (Mearsheimer)The Israel Lobby includes but is not limited to

"The explanation is the unmatched power of the Israel Lobby," as stated by the article. Mearsheimer
and Walt refer to a 1997 Fortune Magazine, which put the question to members of Congress of
which Lobbies are the most powerful. "AIPAC was ranked second..." This Lobby implements two
strategies. First, "it wields its significant influence in Washington, pressuring both congress and the
Executive Branch... the Lobby tries to make supporting Israel the "smart" choice." The Lobby, as
well as all other Lobbies, influence Government through money. The authors share that Jewish
voters consist of less than three percent of the population. That being said, they donate as much as
sixty percent of the money donated to the Democratic Presidential candidates. The second strategy
targets the public by portraying Israel in positive ways. An example given in the article where the
pro–Israel committee for accurate Middle East reporting in America (CAMERA) "organized
demonstrations outside NPR Stations in thirty–three cities; it also tried to persuade contributors to
withhold support from NPR until it's Middle East coverage becomes more sympathetic to Israel."
The authors also point out that the Lobby uses its money and influence to "stifle debate on

In the passage of canonic book, Torah and the rest of the Bible it is clearly explain that Israel is the
promised land by the Supreme being where the Jewish fated. For all over the time before the Zionist

The spirit of nationalism developed in Europe during late nineteen–century. These spirits influence

The War Of Israel And Israel
In the 20th century the Middle East countries of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan were all powerful
countries who believed the time would never arise when a young country like Israel would ever
militarily defeat Egypt. To these powerful nations, such a thought was comedic, but ultimately came
into existence at the conclusion of the six–day war in 1967 (June 5– June 10) where Israel defeated
Egypt. This victory by Israel ultimately led to the Jewish nation multiplying in size dramatically as
it was now four times larger than it was prior to the war. The main acquisitions through winning the
war for Israel was the strip of Gaza along with the nearly 24,000 square miles Sinai Peninsula but

The Arab nations waited patiently for six years following the shocking loss at the six–day war to
seek revenge which ultimately occurred on Yom Kippur in 1973. The Arab nations strategically
planned to attack during the Jewish Yom Kippur holiday as they believed that the Israelis would be
unable to tend to matters of national security (O'Ballance). Ultimately their goal was to repossess
the Suez Canal, the Golan Banks, and the West Bank. Anwar Sedat, the President of Egypt at the
time, had several reasons for taking this position as he was influenced by several high ranking
Egyptian political figures who "viewed the War of Attrition as comprising two main areas: First
there existed the Palestinian problem. Israel's creation left territorial expense, of the Palestinians in
particular, and the Arab nations, wholly. Secondly, the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in the Six–
Day War, lead the Egyptian leadership to realize that an activist line aimed at attaining an immediate
and total solution to both issues would end in failure. Therefore, it chose to proceed in stages: first a
solution to the 1967 problem, then a solution to the 1948 one" (Shah). Although Sedat aimed to have
victory over Israel, he realized that peace could come come out of this war between the two
countries. In order for this to come to fruition, Sedat began tactically relocating from Egypt 20,000
Soviet advisors (Rabinovich 17) and reopened relations with the United States, who was

For ages the Jewish population did not have a place to call home. They had been wandering around
deserts, were once slaves in Egypt, but didn't have any land to their name. Following the Holocaust,
after many Jews had been persecuted by Hitler and the Nazis, a good portion of the overall amount
of Jews in the world let alone Europe had been exterminated. As a result, Harry Truman and the UN
suggested Israel, a homeland for the Jews. Tensions had been growing throughout the beginning of
the 20th Century regarding the Palestinian area in the Middle East. This area was off to the side of
Asia, near Africa. When the Jews and Arabs were offered part of this land, war broke out and still

Jewish cities and defense forces. All of these events happened very close after independence was
declared. The attack was most likely planned to provoke Israel right after they were excited to get
their own homeland. It was a brutal attack to intimidate and show them how they did not approve of
their presence. That year, in 1948, the "Arab–Israeli War" started. The Palestinian area was invaded
by five other Arab countries practically immediately after Israel was announced. Some other
countries included Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt. Around 30 million people attack Israel (The
New York Times Upfront). An extraordinary amount of Palestinian Arabs were deported to other
places. This was due to the war going on. Part of the motive for this war was that Jerusalem, an very
religious area located in Israel, would be managed by the UN. Some Palestinian Arabs were angry
and therefore war broke out. Fortunately, most of the fighting stopped in 1949. The bordering
nations accepted armistice lines. The armistice lines lasted until 1967. Though some of

In the beginning, the State of Israel's contributions to world development was considered great;
however due to social and political factors that ended in war the current aid is only a fraction of
what it used to be.
On May 14, 1948, the first Jewish state in 2,000 years was established at an afternoon ceremony in
the Tel Aviv Art Museum. The words announced by the then Jewish Agency Chairman Ben–Gurion
were "We hereby proclaim the establishment of the Jewish state in Palestine, to be called Israel."
The next day, the Arab–Israeli War broke out.
On May 15 1948, Syria, Transjordan, Iraq, and Egypt moved their armies into Palestine causing a

MASHAV's strategies were highly sought after throughout the Third World. Heads and leaders of
this program traveled around the world to spread Israel's uniquely innovative, agricultural
knowledge. However, Israel's motives were not completely selfless when it came to the MASHAV
foreign projects. Israel had a goal. A plan to garner international support to combat its, thus far,
political isolation. Israel also achieved religious fulfillment in shining upon those of other countries
in need.
The 1960's was the "Golden Age" for Israel's MASHAV program. Hundreds of Israeli agriculturalist
and thousands of African citizens swopped seas to learn from Israeli or teach the Africans. Israel
held annual seminars geared towards the alleviation poverty, lessons on how to increasing crop
efficiency, and theirs innovations in agriculture; such as drip irrigation. Israel's activities and
innovations became famous throughout the world. During this time, Israel would amass diplomatic
relations with over 30 newly formed, independent African nations. As well as during the 1960s, the
Israeli Air Defense Command came fully oprational with the addition of the 40 mm radar–guided
anti–aircraft guns and the MIM–23 Hawk surface–to–air missiles. Afterwards, the Israeli Air Force
incooporated their ADA Branch.

George W. Bush once said, "We will stand up for our friends in the world. And one of the most
important friends is the State of Israel. My administration will be steadfast in support Israel against
terrorism and violence, and in seeking the peace for which all Israelis pray." This quote sums up our
relationship with Israel very accurately. However, when discussing Israel two questions are always
not far away. These questions are is this relationship beneficial to us and why do we even have this
relationship with Israel? In this week's readings, Chapter 5 of McCormick and Chapter 8 of Hook

Israel from its very beginning was almost like a side project of the United States. With a small
strategic advantage in it's location and being symbol of humanity and morality it's no question to
why the United States had a relationship with them. Yet this relationship soon turned unhealthy with
overinflated funds being given and the concepts of human rights and peace corrupted by the
tensions of Israelis and Palestinians. Yet with these problems the relationship still exists. Looking
back it is clear that the book itself has the most persuasive reason for this being the Israel Lobby.
The lobby itself is very similar to all other American Lobbies. However, while not as complex as
lobbies like the NRA the Israeli Lobby can be twice as influential. This is due to the eagerness and
skillful tactics the lobby possesses. The problem with the lobby however is not only how influential
it is but also how vague and steadfast their demands are. This group is only concerned about
supporting Israel and its needs. Yet, since they are American base these needs are not well known. It
also supports Israel above all without question causing problems for both America and Israel since
there's no safeguard for policies that are severely risky. Overall the relationship with the United
States and Israel is complicated and hurtful for both countries. While it uses up America's resources
and has sprouted multiple enemies for them, Israel itself has problems with always having America
as a back up. Because of this Israel is not forced to deal with problems on its own and compromise
with others. Instead it uses America as a bodyguard and blackmail against other nations to position
itself higher as a country of power. While no solution is obvious, if one does surface it would benefit
both countries. For now we can only watch and hope that these two countries see these issues and

The State Of Israel And Israel Essay
The State of Israel is located in the Middle East, bordering the east Mediterranean Sea. Established
in 1948 by a United Nations (U.N.) resolution, the existing British administered Palestinian
Mandate was partitioned into the Jewish State of Israel, the Arab State of Palestine, and an
international territory governing the city of Jerusalem (Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1947). The
forced introduction of a Jewish State into a predominately Arab region immediately created
religious, ethnic, and political tensions.
Israel is approximately 20,770 square kilometers and slightly larger than the U.S. State of New
Jersey. It has approximately 273 kilometers of combined coastline bordering the Mediterranean Sea
and the Gulf of Aqaba (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016). Lebanon and Syria are both located to
the north, Jordan to the east and Egypt to the south. Israel has a temperate climate with hot desert
areas representative of the majority of the country. Israel's estimated population is 8,049,314 people
with median age of 29.6 years old (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016). Israel is a parliamentary
democracy that is broken up into the six administrative districts of Central, Haifa, Jerusalem,
Northern, Southern, and Tel Aviv. Jerusalem is the self–proclaimed capital of Israel, though the
international community recognizes Tel Aviv as its capital due to the geopolitical and religious
sensitivities associated with Jerusalem. The major urban centers include Tel Aviv, with an

Introduction
In the absence of peace, there is conflict. This might lead to war between countries if conflict is not
handled carefully. Today it is almost a norm to see countries engaging others in war. Today the
greatest problem facing many nations is international relation. Countries have failed to live like
decent neighbors. There is disunity among many nations. War between nations is caused by mistrust
and tension. Nations purchase arms to stock their armory. Major inventions are made daily in out on
nuclear power and how to develop sophiscated weapons. This tries to explain the fact that countries
are always in mistrust of each other. It also explains that there is constant tension between countries

As times progressed there was an uprising in Lebanon as the Palestinian opposed Israel rule, In
1978 Palestine attacked Hezbollah. Israel felt invaded and led an offensive attack o Lebanon. Israel
attacked Lebanon and went as far as capturing Beirut. The prime target was to bomb Yasser Arafat
locations. During this invasion, Israel declared southern Lebanon as a security zone. During these
attacks, there were deaths on both sides. The greatest casualties were the children. Israel came to
withdraw its security forces from southern Lebanon in May 2000. Another serious crisis came to be
in 1980s. This was the intifada. A group of young Palestinians confronted Israeli troops with sling
shots and stones. The outcome was not acceptable and many of the youth were shot dead. To lay an
offensive attack, the Palestinians used suicide bombers to kill the Israeli troops. Many innocent
civilians were killed from both sides.
In 1993 the Oslo peace accord was made. In this accord Israel accepted to recognize the Palestinian
liberal organisation (PLO). They were also to give the PLO limited autonomy. The conditions were
that PLO were to end a Palestinian claims on Israel territory. The accord was met with different
reaction across the world. It was seen as a one sided accord which favored only the Israelites. The

Introduction
For days, months, years, even decades, the conflict between Israel and Palestine has raged, leaving
thousands of dead in its wake. The Jewish people once lived in the land now known as either Israel
or Palestine. They were forced out in 70 A.D. in what is now known as the Jewish Diaspora after
attempting a revolt against the Romans that, in hindsight, was probably not a good idea. Who
replaced the Jews? Once the Jews were gone, the Palestinians took over the land and lived there

This proves that Israel is a valid place for a Jewish state because God has promised Israel to
Abraham and his descendants. Reason Wrap–Up In short, one of the reasons Israel was created as a
Jewish state in 1948 is that in their scriptures say that they have been promised Israel by God.
International support There are two great reasons Zionism or International Support back up the
creation of Israel that I will explain to you, but I'm sure there are plenty more. First evidence "The
people kept faith with [Israel] throughout their Dispersion (Diaspora) and never ceased to hope and
pray for their return to it," as said in Document B. This shows that Israelis have always wanted to
return and have kept the dream alive and have historical ties to Israel. Second evidence Also, quoted
from Document B is the evidence, "The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution
calling for the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz–Israel." Eretz–Israel, by the way, is just Israel
by a different name. Moving on, this proves that Israel should have been created as a Jewish state in

itself in the spotlight of all major talks in the Middle East. The issue now is what are the possible
repercussions that will affect us as United States citizens for our government's actions? On the date

In this special meeting, a vote that was passed 14–1 in favor of a resolution that called for Donald
Trump to rescind his proclamation of Jerusalem which would be legally binding for the United
States to do so. Though as quickly as it were to come about, the US had vetoed the resolution and
therefore maintained its stance on the topic. Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN, denounced
the security council's votes. She has been quoted with saying that it was "an insult" and "wont be
forgotten" (independent). Ms. Haley continued to say that, "The fact that this veto is being done in
defence of American sovereignty and in defence of America's role in the Middle East peace process
is not a source of embarrassment for us; it should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the
Security Council" (independent). Another notorious ally of the US, Saudi Arabia, had members state
that if we are to continue with the Israeli capital movement, we would be damaging the peace deals
with the Palestinian leaders and that the status change would escalate regional tension. Russia,
China, the United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Iran, and many more countries had also weighed in on

Hypocrisy In Israel
It's a continuation of his idealistic philosophy that enemies and friends need to be treated equally.
Iran gets billions of dollars in cash delivered by plane while Israel gets a resolution from UN, telling
them that the Western Wall is a settlement.
Israel's Ambassador To UN, Danny Danon, minced no words in his address to Security Council:
"The resolution you just voted on is the peak of hypocrisy. While thousands are being massacred in
Syria, this Council wasted valuable time and efforts, condemning the democratic State of Israel for
building homes in the historic homeland of the Jewish people."
He also correctly noted that "those who had voted yes to the resolution had voted no to negotiations,
to progress and to a chance for better lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We've never questioned that. This resolution in no manner prejudges the outcome of permanent
status negotiations on East Jerusalem, which must, of course, reflect those historic ties and the
realities on the ground. That's our position. We still support it."
Mr Kerry can dance around the wording of the resolution as much as he wants to while explaining
how he and President Obama understand it. What really counts is how Palestinians and their
supporters understand it and how it's going to be used against the Israelis in potential future
negotiations.
In his article in National Reviews from December the 28, 2016 Charles Krauthammer said the
following: "For the last 35 years, every administration, including a reelection–seeking Obama
himself in 2011, has protected Israel with the U.S. veto because such a Security Council resolution
gives immense legal ammunition to every boycotter, anti–Semite, and zealous European prosecutor
to penalize and punish Israelis. An ordinary Israeli who lives or works in the Old City of Jerusalem
becomes an international pariah, a potential outlaw – to say nothing of the soldiers of Israel's citizen
army.

The State Of Israel
Within the context of human history there have been many unfortunate events. Whether it is
controllable by man, or nature. The world can be a formidable foe, especially In case of the former.
Man against man, the eternal struggle. Since ages long forgotten to the folds of time, man has waged
war against himself. Likewise can be said regarding the conditions in which present day Palestinians
find themselves in. A world not of their making, yet the are forced to live within the conditions
others have created for them. For decades, they have been a people without a nation to call home. A
people that are constantly met with apathy and malcontent, a people that have been removed from
what they call home. Since the creation of the state of Israel, Palestinians have found themselves at
a significant loss. They have been displaced, to say the least. With the lack of enthusiasm for
Palestinians within the Israeli state, and with much of the former territory they occupied now
sanctioned as Israeli land, significant groups of culturally similar people are without a home. This is
in part due to expansion by the Israeli forces, and the expulsion of Palestinian people in the process.
Yet, with many suspected allies, such as the neighboring Arab states of Syria, Egypt and Jordan.
Surely refugees would have somewhere to turn? The painstaking truth is that these refugees often do
not receive the proper treatment required by the nations housing them. Infact, in many cases they are
treated as

in the context of Ethiopian immigrants and in general. The first person I spoke to in Nazareth was a
shopkeeper who after I bought a couple items for family members spoke to me about the state of

and how they constantly face discrimination. Additionally, he told me how the government places

The Cultural Differences Of Culture In Israel, Israel And...
The word "culture" derives from a French term, which in turn derives from the Latin "colere,"
which means to tend to the earth and grow, or cultivation and nurture. (Zimmerman 1) This can also
lead to one concluding that culture changes as civilization is changed and advancements occur. I am
culturally Arab. Specifically from around Jerusalem and many other farmer civilations. The cuisine,
historical significance of the area, and it's religions are some of the most distinct differences the
region has culturally.
One sizable distinction for people from Palestine/Israel is their diet compared to surrounding areas.
The area surrounding them is mainly desert while they live in a fertile area between the Jordan river
and Mediterranean Ocean. This resulted in the area becoming less nomadic and more people settled
to farm. Olives, citrus fruits, dates, chickpeas, almonds, and plums are some of the many varieties of
produce grown in the region. (Butterfield, et al: 1) This is why the region's food culture is different
from its neighbors. From this region, hummus, olive oil, bread, dates, and nuts are staples and are
often supplemented by whatever produce are in season. Growing up and eating these foods since I
was I child, what people viewed as exotic foods in many places of the world was a normal
commodity for me. Things like dried apricot puree and dates for snack at school and a thyme
mixture named Zatar with olive oil and bread for lunch confused students who were so used to

Israel is the ancient homeland to many Jews. More than six million people live here but most of
them are Jewish. Judaism is one of the world's' oldest religions. Arabs also live here and most are

back to the settlements of the Muslim, Ethiopian, Orthodox, and other Christian communities.
Strong families and immense patriotism ties in as well. Israel's diverse culture is from the diversity

Injustice In Israel
In many countries around the world, many acts of injustice are being committed at this very

now in Israel, thousands of Palestinians are suffering from arbitrary arrest and detention; which is
when an individual is arrested or imprisoned when there is no evidence or even the possibility that
they've committed a crime or when there is no regular administration of the law where no citizen

The first people put on trial were Islamist activists who were blamed for participating in suicide
bombings in April 1995. Their trial was held at night and lasted only a few minutes. They were also
tried without knowing it and without their parents' knowing until the day of the actual trial. And
they weren't given the right to choose a lawyer; it was provided to them by the
court("Israel/Occupied Territories"). This completely violates the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights which clearly states in Article 11 that, "Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right
to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all
the guarantees necessary for his defence"(Universal Declaration of Human Rights"). Other things
Palestinians suffered from included abusive arrests. In one case, Mr. Ahmad Qatamish was a 60 year
old man living in Al–Bireh who experienced the brutality of being arrested. On April 21,2011,
Israeli soldiers surrounded his house without a warrant. They then proceeded to taking his family
hostage and holding them at gunpoint until he agreed to surrender. Several organizations such as the
United Nations board Against Torture and the universal administrative department of the World
Organisation Against Torture both agree that Mr. Ahmad Qatamish's case doesn't reach international
human rights standards("Israel:Arbitrary Use of Administrative Detention"). This is because it
completely contradicts The Universal Declaration of Human Rights which clearly states in Article 5
that, "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or
punishment", as well as Article 9 which states that, "No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest,
detention or exile"("Universal Declaration of Human Rights"). And they highly recommend people

Israel is an extremely valuable ally in a region with significant strategic importance. Strong support
from the U.S. provides Israel with more freedom in the region. The ability of the United States to

their own interests in mind. Right of entry to their ports in the Mediterranean Sea provides the U.S.
easy access to the coastal borders of Egypt and Libya, and working together to counter enemy air
threats benefits both countries (Blackwill & Slocombe, 2011). Surrounded by conflict and terrorism,

Upon graduation at age 18, students typically fulfil their obligation to the Israeli Defense Force
(IDF). There are options to postpone military service by attending higher education, or committing

Men are typically obligated to two years and eight months of service, while women are obligated to

have been in possession of nuclear weapons since 1967 and have the capability to deliver them by

Israel Bias Essay
Historically, the greatest innovations in both the arts and sciences, medicine as well as religion, were
achieved when there was cross dialogue and harmony amongst the different religions, factions and
nationalities. By getting different opinions and viewpoints on anything can significantly enhance
whatever is being discussed and therefore can make a better and stronger product or idea. Without a

Whether there is bias in the media towards Israel or not is really irrelevant. For every opinion that
claims there is a bias, there is another opinion that claims there is not. The arguments goes round
and round. The outcome remains the same. Israel is suffering, whether deserved or not, from a

Exile In Israel
"Exile is a series of portraits without names, without contexts.(Said, P.12)." To be in exile is to be
banished from one's native country. The Palestinians were in complete exile and many still are
today. More and more Israelis moved into what was formerly a Palestinian nation. The Jews moved
into Israel to flee from Germany and surrounding areas. The only problem was that the Palestinians
were already there and someone had to go, so the Israelis kicked the Palestinians out. The
Palestinians had nowhere to go and they were forced into refugee camps. They were in exile
because they were put out of the country that was their own. The Palestinians were displaced not
only from their houses, but also from what they called home. Said's text could ... Show more content

The picture on page 22 shows a toddler in his "home" as a refugee. This is the only thing he has to
call a home, but we all know this is not a home. A home is someplace you stay in and you are
comfortable in that place. In a home, you laugh and share great moments with your family. A home
doesn't have to be extravagant, expensive, or big and nice, but a home makes you comfortable and it
is suitable enough for a person. The tent that the child is in barely even fits him let alone his whole
family. This image of the way they live shows how they were treated as nobodies, like they weren't
even there. The Israelis label them as not important. "Who are the Palestinians? Non–Jews.
Terrorist. Troublemakers. DPs. Refugees. Names on a card. Numbers on a list." (Said, P.26). This
quote tells us that they were seen as worthless because they are "Non–Jews" and if you are a Non–
Jew you are not important. To the Jews, who are the dominant discourse, you are not necessary to
the world. They don't only see a select group of Palestinians as terrorist and Non–Jews, but they see
every Palestinian this way. "I heard it said in Lebanon that Palestinian children in particular should
be killed because each of them is a potential terrorist. Kill them before they kill you. (Said, P.25)."
The Israelis have no pity towards the Palestinians and they have no remorse for their actions. This
goes back to the Palestinians being labeled as

Bias Against Israel
In this world today one topic appears in the news almost daily. Israel and the Gaza Strip. The
conflict has been ongoing since 1948 when the Arab League failed to support their allies in Gaza
attacking Israeli forces. Now the region is wrought with conflict and is the breeding ground for
terrorists and recently ISIL forces. HAMAS (The governing arm of the Palestinians in the Gaza
strip) and Israel should be forced to come to the negotiation table to eliminate the conflict and bring
stability to the region. After several failed peace talks the two factions have commenced the
launching of missiles into each other's territory; both sides lack of regard for collateral damage has
led to the deaths of over 2,000 civilian casualties alone from Palestinians ... Show more content on

Israel And Palestine Conflict Between Palestine And Israel

  • 1. Israel And Palestine Conflict Between Palestine And Israel Since 1967 the borders between Palestine and Israel have been unfair. The Israeli people have taken a majority of the Palestinians land. This had caused conflict between these two territories for years. The Israel and Palestine conflict has been going on for many decades and nothing seems to be able to solve this issue. All because the Israeli government is very stubborn. They are not willing to make a compromise in this situation. The main issues between the Palestinians and the Israelites are; Israel has been unfair to the Palestinians and have taken the land which used to be their own. Not only has Israel created unfair boundaries but, they are also reluctant to let outsiders into Jerusalem. A place that is not only religiously important to the Jews but also to the Arabs. And above all of that Palestinian people feel as if they have to live in fear from the Israeli people. Israel militia has shot at mothers and children. These problems are still prevalent today; if we can solve the unfair borders, Jerusalem, and security we could have a safer Middle East. Before 1947 Palestine owned all of Israel including , the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Israel. But in 1947 that all changed when the United Nations divided up the land. They gave "55 percent of Palestine to a Jewish state." – Negotiations Affairs Department. When only one third of the population was Jewish. After these events the Jews wanted even more land and eventually Israel became about. Israel had "control over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Assyria In Israel 3.1. Where is the passage set? Jonah preceded Amos and ministered under Jeroboam II, Israel's most powerful King (793–753 B.C.; 2 Kings 14:23–25). Assyria was Israel's great enemy; it conquered Israel in 722 B.C. Nineveh's repentance must have been short– lived, for it was destroyed in 612 B.C. 3.2. Where was this passage written? 785–760 B.C Nineveh. 3.3. Does this explain anything within the text or about its overall meaning? It explains that Israel was great enemies with the Assyrians but they lost and got conquered by them. Through this occupation the Israel people are scattered marrying off to foreign women and losing their face as the people of God. God knows how to punish and forgive people depending on if they follow him or not. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Israel and Iran Relations Reading the media headlines today and spotting names of countries such as Israel and Iran one would expect the article to be on their disputes or their ongoing nuclear power conflict. Due to the many differences that countries have cultural, religious, political and economic have influenced their relationship in so many ways throughout the history. Going back to the initial establishment of a Jewish country in the Middle East in 1917 when the Balfour Declaration was introduced with the purpose of doing that in Palestinian land the hostile relationships among Jewish and the Muslim world began. As Palestinian people never accepted for Israeli to take parts of their territory, since 1947 until today Israeli is on conflict terms with most Muslim countries. Taking into consideration the historical timeline of brutal conflicts of Israel with many Arab countries, specifically Iran and Israel have not always been particularly on bad terms. David Menashri, an Israeli expert on Israeli– Iranian relation, said that "in the back of the historical memory of the Israelis, when you speak about Iran, Iran is considered to be a good friend of Israel." (Sterling, 2012) These good relationships have been largely formed based on their economic interests where they traded goods which were significant to them such as Israeli weapons and Iran oil. However, with the changing nature of historical events today we find Israel and Iran publically declaring each other as enemies and constantly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay Israel and Palestine The Issue Of Israel and Palestine In 1993, in Oslo, Norway a historic peace agreement was secretly drawn up with the hopes of bringing all the violence between the Palestinians and the Israelis to an end. Yasser Arafat, the chairman of the PLO, and Yitzhak Rabin who was prime minister of Israel at the time shook hands at the White House in front of President Bill Clinton to finalize the accords. This was the first step towards peace in a long time between the warring nations, and one that many people believed was going to bring an end to the fighting. These accords were significant because it was the first time that Israel ever recognized the Palestinian Liberation Organization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believes that he is right, and no one is going to change his opinion. Ariel Sharon is a big bully. I do not justify Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians, and I do believe that Yasser Arafat supported terror strikes, but Sharon knows that he has the upper hand in the whole situation. America is going to stand behind Israel, so Sharon makes all these crazy demands from the Palestinians. He will give them some of their land, but Israel will control the air space in the new Palestinian territory. Of course Palestine is not going to agree to that, demands like that are absurd, but Sharon has the world on his side because when he blows up a house full of Palestinians, it is referred to as a military action, but when Palestinians attack Israel it is looked at as terrorism. President Bush and his cabinet of maniacs has created this entire scare of terror attacks, and Ariel Sharon was the first person to jump on that bandwagon. This was exactly what he needed to justify Israel beating up on Palestine and taking control of Palestinian land. The United States spawned all of the enemies that we are fighting with today by giving them aid. They gave aid to the Taliban to fight the Soviets during the cold war, they gave millions of dollars and arms and supplies to Saddam Hussein to help Iraq win the war versus Iran. In the Middle East region with conflicting beliefs, ideas, and disputes for land it is imperative for Israel to maintain a firm stance and be ready to deploy its military forces when needed. The country of Israel uses its similar goals and interest with allies to ensure its lasting security. This essay will discuss the physical environment, military history, and politics of Israel. The land across Israel contains mountains and plains, fertile land, and deserts which are located just minutes apart. • 6. Conflict Between Israel And Israel Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down each subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of one idea, desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient country in South–West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country divided between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South–West Asia on the Mediterranean, formed as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and Palestinians, have been fighting for decades. The main reasons include international agreement, borders, economic security, water resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement due to barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their refugees. Of course, at one point in time there had to be peace. There wasn't always fighting and clashing going on. This time of peace happened to be before a group of Zionists from Europe decided to invade the land in attempt to make it "home" for the Jewish people. Eventually, fighting broke out when the Arabs realized what was really going on and how it would affect their people and community. As stated before, these two have been going at it for many many years so of course there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between the Palestinians and Arabs took place in 1947–1949, also referred to as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Dbq Essay: Should Israel Receive Israel Back? Ignorance is what the Palestinians have. They don't understand that Israel does not belong to them. They acted violently towards the Israelis, abused them, and began a war in order to take over their homeland. Therefore, I feel sympathy for the Israelis and believe they should have Israel back. They should have it back because one, the birthplace of most Jewish people was in Israel, two, the Jews converted the land to re–establish themselves and create a country, and three, in 1897 Theodore Herzl, the first Zionist Congress, gave the Jewish people the right to a national rebirth in its country. Therefore, Israel should be given back to the Jews. To begin with, most of the Jewish people were born in Israel. There, they formed their spiritual, political, and religious identities. In document 1 it is stated, "Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance, and gave to the world the eternal books of books." That should come to the obvious point that Palestine can't take over what is someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They used what they had to their advantage and worked hard to re–establish themselves in their ancient homeland. They strove to make a successful country, as document 1 states, "They built towns and created a thriving community controlling its own economy and culture," they brought progress to all the country's people, and they sprouted an independent nation. The Palestinians have to accept the matter of fact that whomever comes first is the one to be served and not the second, so they must leave, for they are not served in Israel. Moreover, In 1897 Theodore Herzl, the first Zionist Congress, gave the Jewish people the right to a national rebirth in their country. • 8. The Israel Conflict : Solving The Conflict In Israel These two cultures have been through a conflict that has lasted for thousands and thousands of years, and yet in those thousands of years the conflict has not really got any better, but now there is a sense of urgency to solve the problem now. If the conflict is solved in Israel the world will be one step closer to peace. This conflict can be dated back to the days before Jesus Christ when the Israelites were promised the land that is now present–day Israel as their promised land, but as the Jewish religion starts to grow, so does the hatred of the monotheistic religion. In the coming years, Egypt will enslave all of the Jewish believers and bring them back to Egypt where they were used for hard labor. This hard labor included building the Pyramids of Giza and anything else the King needed for his needs. Years go on the Israelites are freed by Moses as they cross back to the promised land. For the next thousand years, Jews are picked on again and again. Jesus is born and about 34 A.D. the Jews put Jesus to death, and the entire religion is prosecuted for killing the Savior. After that, the Israelites spread around the world, but mostly to Europe. During this time the Arab religion forms and they claim the Israelites "Promised Land". Obviously, the Jewish culture doesn't like this, and they go back to Israel to fight the Palestinians which is apart of the Ottoman Empire. • 10. Peace In Israel Peace in Israel–Palestine: A Near Impossibility There has been a Jewish state in Israel for 68 years, and since its creation, thousands have died from the violence in the following years. The governments of Israel and Palestine are sworn enemies, and nationalism is extremely high in both countries, weakening the possibility of compromise and peace. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the current leader of Israel, is almost constantly attacking Palestine with blame and insults. Across the border in the Palestinian state of Gaza, Hamas, a group labeled as a terrorist group by most nations, holds complete power and conducts attacks on innocent Israeli civilians such as missile attacks and organized suicide bombings and stabbings. Compromise is defined as an agreement or a settlement of a disputed that is reached by each side making concessions. The concept of compromise is usually successful in a political setting and has settled disputes in the past. Examples include the Three–Fifths Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, and many more. Based on these successes (at least during their time), it seems clear that Israel and Palestine can settle their dispute with a well written compromise. However, this situation is different than situations in which compromise was made. For example, in the Three–Fifths Compromise, the north conceded part of its belief that slaves should be able to vote, and the south, part of its belief in the opposite. Begin asserted that Israel's highest priority was guaranteeing security to its people, which included keeping Israeli settlements in the Sinai territories. Additionally, Begin wanted to retain Israeli airfields in the Sinai for between 3–5 years, after which Israel would agree to a general demilitarization of the region. Begin also reproached Carter for taking sides with the Egyptians. No formal meetings were held on September 9th, however the Americans fleshed out their own proposal for peace. The following day, the Americans presented their proposal to the Israeli delegation, which roused heated discussions between the U.S. and Israel. This framework outlined that Israel was to restore Egyptian sovereignty to the Sinai in exchange for Egypt's establishment of a full peace and normal relations with Israel. The framework additionally proposed a five–year translational arrangement for the West Bank and Gaza, resulting in the abolishment of Israeli military administration and establishment of a self– governing authority in the West Bank and Gaza. The Israelis recommended multiple changes to this framework, and on Sept. 11th Carter presented the Israeli–revised American proposal to Sadat. Sadat responded that he might be willing to allow Israel to retain two of its airfields for three years and Israeli settlers to remain in the Sinai for the same period of time. On September 12th, President Carter presented his "Framework for a Settlement in Sinai" to Sadat and Begin, which comprised Carter's own views on a potential solution. The Taglit-Birthright Israel Introduction Despite the ancient Jewish diaspora, in which the Israelites and Judahites were exiled from Judea, the Land of Israel has continued to hold both cultural and religious significance for Jewish people throughout the world, even in the modern day. This is demonstrated through the Zionist concept of "making aliyah," sometimes known as "the act of going up," which equates the return of Jews to the Land of Israel with a spiritual and cultural ascension. This is additionally supported by the Law of Return, a piece of Israeli legislature which was introduced in 1950. The Law of Return supposes that Jews have "a 'natural right' to return to their historic homeland," and thus grants any Jew, and eligible non–Jewish spouses and children, the legal right to migrate to Israel and to instantly acquire Israeli citizenship. • 14. Conflict : The Conflict Between Israel And Israel The Middle East is said to the home of some of the holiest sites for people of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is not one to take lightly. There are faults on both sides. Israel is said to be "the holy land" for the Jews and was a gift from God given to the Israelites who are the ancestors of the modern Jewish people ("Israel"). Many texts state the boundaries of Israel, but they vary in where those boundaries lie. Although there are frequent references to modern day Israel in both the Quran and Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad (Islamic Association for Palestine). However, because neither of the three books have a set date as to when they were written I believe that the land belongs to the Jews of Israel. According to the Islamic Association for Palestine, " Palestine is the land of prophets who were sent with the message of Islam and hence should not be ruled by anyone other than those who uphold the message of Islam by implementing its laws and regulations." Muslims believe that Palestine should be ruled by a Muslim leader not by a Jewish one. Palestine is a holy site in which many of the prophets were either born there or died there. Palestine was brought under Muslim rule at the time of Umar ibn al–Khattab, who was the second Khalifa of the Muslims. It was then made part of the Islamic state and ruled by Islamic law. • 15. Essay On Israel Lobby The US, as one of the most powerful actors in the world, has proved to be an important ally for Israel. The origins of this relationship between Israel and the US go back to WWII, when American Zionists began with an intensive propaganda campaign in 1943. Unlike the Zionists, the Arabs almost completely lacked any activity. The campaign proved to be pretty successful and the Jewish question was high positioned on the policy agenda one year later, when presidential elections were coming. Another important factor for the focus on Israel was the fact that the US also had strategic interests in the Middle East regarding the increasing exploitation of oil. American Jews, in contrast with the Arabs, had a considerable amount of political influence (Wilson, 1972). Ultimately their goal was to repossess the Suez Canal, the Golan Banks, and the West Bank. Anwar Sedat, the President of Egypt at the time, had several reasons for taking this position as he was influenced by several high ranking Egyptian political figures who "viewed the War of Attrition as comprising two main areas: First there existed the Palestinian problem. Israel's creation left territorial expense, of the Palestinians in particular, and the Arab nations, wholly. Secondly, the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in the Six– Day War, lead the Egyptian leadership to realize that an activist line aimed at attaining an immediate and total solution to both issues would end in failure. The Jewish people once lived in the land now known as either Israel or Palestine. They were forced out in 70 A.D. in what is now known as the Jewish Diaspora after attempting a revolt against the Romans that, in hindsight, was probably not a good idea. Who replaced the Jews? This proves that Israel is a valid place for a Jewish state because God has promised Israel to Abraham and his descendants. Reason Wrap–Up In short, one of the reasons Israel was created as a Jewish state in 1948 is that in their scriptures say that they have been promised Israel by God. International support There are two great reasons Zionism or International Support back up the creation of Israel that I will explain to you, but I'm sure there are plenty more. First evidence "The people kept faith with [Israel] throughout their Dispersion (Diaspora) and never ceased to hope and pray for their return to it," as said in Document B. This shows that Israelis have always wanted to return and have kept the dream alive and have historical ties to Israel. Second evidence Also, quoted from Document B is the evidence, "The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz–Israel." Eretz–Israel, by the way, is just Israel by a different name. Moving on, this proves that Israel should have been created as a Jewish state in 1948 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Repercussions Of The State Of Israel To Israel In an ever growing region of hostility and religious warfare, The United States has yet again placed itself in the spotlight of all major talks in the Middle East. The issue now is what are the possible repercussions that will affect us as United States citizens for our government's actions? On the date of December 6th, 2017, President Donald J. Trump gave a proclamation that is to have the U.S. recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel and to relocate the United States embassy of Israel to the newly announced location. Though as quickly as it were to come about, the US had vetoed the resolution and therefore maintained its stance on the topic. Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN, denounced the security council's votes. She has been quoted with saying that it was "an insult" and "wont be forgotten" (independent). Ms. Haley continued to say that, "The fact that this veto is being done in defence of American sovereignty and in defence of America's role in the Middle East peace process is not a source of embarrassment for us; it should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council" (independent). Another notorious ally of the US, Saudi Arabia, had members state that if we are to continue with the Israeli capital movement, we would be damaging the peace deals with the Palestinian leaders and that the status change would escalate regional tension. Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Iran, and many more countries had also weighed in on this issue, they agree that President Donald J. • 29. Hypocrisy In Israel It's a continuation of his idealistic philosophy that enemies and friends need to be treated equally. Iran gets billions of dollars in cash delivered by plane while Israel gets a resolution from UN, telling them that the Western Wall is a settlement. Israel's Ambassador To UN, Danny Danon, minced no words in his address to Security Council: "The resolution you just voted on is the peak of hypocrisy. While thousands are being massacred in Syria, this Council wasted valuable time and efforts, condemning the democratic State of Israel for building homes in the historic homeland of the Jewish people." He also correctly noted that "those who had voted yes to the resolution had voted no to negotiations, to progress and to a chance for better lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We've never questioned that. This resolution in no manner prejudges the outcome of permanent status negotiations on East Jerusalem, which must, of course, reflect those historic ties and the realities on the ground. That's our position. We still support it." Mr Kerry can dance around the wording of the resolution as much as he wants to while explaining how he and President Obama understand it. What really counts is how Palestinians and their supporters understand it and how it's going to be used against the Israelis in potential future negotiations. In his article in National Reviews from December the 28, 2016 Charles Krauthammer said the following: "For the last 35 years, every administration, including a reelection–seeking Obama himself in 2011, has protected Israel with the U.S. veto because such a Security Council resolution gives immense legal ammunition to every boycotter, anti–Semite, and zealous European prosecutor to penalize and punish Israelis. An ordinary Israeli who lives or works in the Old City of Jerusalem becomes an international pariah, a potential outlaw – to say nothing of the soldiers of Israel's citizen army. Read more at: ... • 30. The State Of Israel Within the context of human history there have been many unfortunate events. Whether it is controllable by man, or nature. The world can be a formidable foe, especially In case of the former. Man against man, the eternal struggle. Since ages long forgotten to the folds of time, man has waged war against himself. Likewise can be said regarding the conditions in which present day Palestinians find themselves in. A world not of their making, yet the are forced to live within the conditions others have created for them. For decades, they have been a people without a nation to call home. A people that are constantly met with apathy and malcontent, a people that have been removed from what they call home. Since the creation of the state of Israel, Palestinians have found themselves at a significant loss. They have been displaced, to say the least. With the lack of enthusiasm for Palestinians within the Israeli state, and with much of the former territory they occupied now sanctioned as Israeli land, significant groups of culturally similar people are without a home. This is in part due to expansion by the Israeli forces, and the expulsion of Palestinian people in the process. Yet, with many suspected allies, such as the neighboring Arab states of Syria, Egypt and Jordan. Surely refugees would have somewhere to turn? The painstaking truth is that these refugees often do not receive the proper treatment required by the nations housing them. Infact, in many cases they are treated as ... On the whole however, I found that through speaking with the locals and watching people I learned a great deal about immigration in Israel both in the context of Ethiopian immigrants and in general. The first person I spoke to in Nazareth was a shopkeeper who after I bought a couple items for family members spoke to me about the state of Ethiopians in Israel. Additionally, he told me how the government places new Ethiopian immigrants in bad neighborhoods, which he described ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Cultural Differences Of Culture In Israel, Israel And... The word "culture" derives from a French term, which in turn derives from the Latin "colere," which means to tend to the earth and grow, or cultivation and nurture. (Zimmerman 1) This can also lead to one concluding that culture changes as civilization is changed and advancements occur. I am culturally Arab. Specifically from around Jerusalem and many other farmer civilations. The cuisine, historical significance of the area, and it's religions are some of the most distinct differences the region has culturally. One sizable distinction for people from Palestine/Israel is their diet compared to surrounding areas. The area surrounding them is mainly desert while they live in a fertile area between the Jordan river and Mediterranean Ocean. This resulted in the area becoming less nomadic and more people settled to farm. Olives, citrus fruits, dates, chickpeas, almonds, and plums are some of the many varieties of produce grown in the region. (Butterfield, et al: 1) This is why the region's food culture is different from its neighbors. From this region, hummus, olive oil, bread, dates, and nuts are staples and are often supplemented by whatever produce are in season. Growing up and eating these foods since I was I child, what people viewed as exotic foods in many places of the world was a normal commodity for me. Things like dried apricot puree and dates for snack at school and a thyme mixture named Zatar with olive oil and bread for lunch confused students who were so used to ... • 34. Injustice In Israel In many countries around the world, many acts of injustice are being committed at this very moment. And the saddest part of this matter is that it has remained static for a very long time. Right now in Israel, thousands of Palestinians are suffering from arbitrary arrest and detention; which is when an individual is arrested or imprisoned when there is no evidence or even the possibility that they've committed a crime or when there is no regular administration of the law where no citizen may be denied their rights("Detention and Imprisonment"). Their trial was held at night and lasted only a few minutes. They were also tried without knowing it and without their parents' knowing until the day of the actual trial. And they weren't given the right to choose a lawyer; it was provided to them by the court("Israel/Occupied Territories"). This completely violates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which clearly states in Article 11 that, "Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence"(Universal Declaration of Human Rights"). Other things Palestinians suffered from included abusive arrests. In one case, Mr. Ahmad Qatamish was a 60 year old man living in Al–Bireh who experienced the brutality of being arrested. On April 21,2011, Israeli soldiers surrounded his house without a warrant. They then proceeded to taking his family hostage and holding them at gunpoint until he agreed to surrender. Several organizations such as the United Nations board Against Torture and the universal administrative department of the World Organisation Against Torture both agree that Mr. Ahmad Qatamish's case doesn't reach international human rights standards("Israel:Arbitrary Use of Administrative Detention"). This is because it completely contradicts The Universal Declaration of Human Rights which clearly states in Article 5 that, "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment", as well as Article 9 which states that, "No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile"("Universal Declaration of Human Rights"). Strong support from the U.S. provides Israel with more freedom in the region. The ability of the United States to depend on the partnership within an area of so much strife allows them to influence the region with their own interests in mind. Right of entry to their ports in the Mediterranean Sea provides the U.S. easy access to the coastal borders of Egypt and Libya, and working together to counter enemy air threats benefits both countries (Blackwill & Slocombe, 2011). Nuclear capabilities provide the Israelis with the deterrence of aggression from hostile countries like Iran (Mahal IDF Volunteers, 2017). Israel Bias Essay Historically, the greatest innovations in both the arts and sciences, medicine as well as religion, were achieved when there was cross dialogue and harmony amongst the different religions, factions and nationalities. The Palestinians were in complete exile and many still are today. More and more Israelis moved into what was formerly a Palestinian nation. The Jews moved into Israel to flee from Germany and surrounding areas. The only problem was that the Palestinians were already there and someone had to go, so the Israelis kicked the Palestinians out. A home doesn't have to be extravagant, expensive, or big and nice, but a home makes you comfortable and it is suitable enough for a person. The tent that the child is in barely even fits him let alone his whole family. This image of the way they live shows how they were treated as nobodies, like they weren't even there. This quote tells us that they were seen as worthless because they are "Non–Jews" and if you are a Non– Jew you are not important. To the Jews, who are the dominant discourse, you are not necessary to the world. They don't only see a select group of Palestinians as terrorist and Non–Jews, but they see every Palestinian this way.
