1. Q5) How did you attract/address your audience?
I managed to attract my target audience with the conventions you would find in
real media, this has enabled me to be very effective with my work because I have
taken conventions that have been very popular with my target audience.
One way in which I did this was through the use of my colour scheme, I asked my
target audience what colours they would want to see in a rock magazine. This
gave me a clear indication on what colour scheme I should use, I then used a red,
black and white colour scheme which worked well because the colours contrast
and so it can stand out which also allows it to be easier to read. Using the fonts
that I chose allowed me to do the same thing. This meant I was able to attract my
audience through making my magazine stand out.
I have also captured my target audience through the use of my layout, this is
because I have looked at successful examples of real media and evaluated what
they done well to attract a similar audience to mine. I then developed this idea so
it would attract my target audience in the best way possible.
Another way that I managed to attract my target audience was through the
content of my main article this is vital because this is what customers buy the
magazine for. I managed to appeal to my target audience due to the mature way I
wrote the article but still making it down to earth, this is exactly what my
audience wanted because they did want a mature magazine that suits the target
audience well and I believe I have managed to do this well.
