Who is this for?
• School leavers (Leaving Certificate)
• Level 5 or Level 6 graduates with relevant
experience looking to upskill or retrain in
the laboratory environment
• Mature students, or those returning to
work.
Target industry
• Biopharma, chemical manufacturing,
medical devices and diagnostics, food
and drink, analytical testing laboratories
Timelines
• Two apprentice intakes per year.
Apprentices will begin placement and
academic studies in January and
September.

CIT - DePuy Synthes Biomedical Engineering Scholarship - Application for this scholarship is open
to any student who has applied through the CAO to study the Honours Degree in Biomedical
Engineering (CR520) at CIT.
CIT – DePuy Synthes Mechanical Engineering Scholarship - Application for this scholarship is now
open to any student who has applied through the CAO to study the Honours Degree in Mechanical
Engineering (CR108) at CIT.
CIT - ARUP Structural Engineering Scholarship - Application for this scholarship is now open to any
student who has applied through the CAO to study the Honours Degree in Structural Engineering
(CR109) at CIT.
CIT - Intel Security "Alejandro de la Flor" Memorial Scholarship for Department of Computer
Science - Intel Security are funding this perpetual scholarship in memory of Alejandro de la Flor
who passed away in 2008.
CIT - Esentire "Yves Beretta" Memorial Scholarship for Department of Computer Science -
Perpetual Scholarship to be awarded to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in IT Management
student who is specifically pursuing a security forensics course.
McKesson Women in IT Scholarship Department of Computer Science - valued at €3000 per year,
will be awarded to the Leaving Certificate student with the highest CAO points entering a
programme in the Department of Computer Science.
CIT - "Cliona Magner" Scholarship - open to final year students in the Departments of Process,
Energy and Transport Engineering and Mechanical, Biomedical and Manufacturing Engineering

CIT - CDK Global Bursary - Application for this bursary will
open shortly to any student who has applied through the
CAO to study the Honours degree in Automotive Business
Management and Technology (CR110) at CIT.
Soon to be formally announced: €5k annual sponsorship by
ESI – Indutrade to support STEM Entrepreneurship – best
business ideas by STEM female and male students.

direct connection between STEM industries and the post
primary sector
Aim to create a wide range of opportunities for post primary
students, parents / guardians, guidance counsellors and
teachers
First event was a major success – STEM South West Industry
Showcase 2019

Overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors

The Interior Architecture Programme won the award for Excellence
in Education & Training at the Building & Architect of the Year
Awards.
The 2nd Year housing project in Cork Centre for Architectural
Education (in collaboration with Cork County Council) won the
National Age-Friendly Housing award for 2018-19.
Alex Defratyka, Level 8 Interior Architecture graduate, won the
Institute of Designers in Ireland National Graduate Design award for
Architecture, Interior Architecture and Sustainability and won the IDI
Graduate Design Grand Prix.
