This workshop follows the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) format of facilitator-led theme
sessions and participant-led mini lessons.
The TDW - TEL is designed to raise awareness and provide practical practice for teaching in a Bring
Your Own Technology (BYOT) setting, in which students are expected to use their own mobile
devices to participate in classroom activities. It is also intended to provide participants with
exposure to and experience with a variety of technological tools. In short, the workshop is focused
on 1. BYOT best practices and 2. incorporating contemporary tools and practices into learning. No
special degree of skill or comfort with technology is necessary for participation in this workshop.
