Goals and Measurable Objectives<br />Goal #1:Students in Persian-Farsi Department, teachers, and administrators will effectively use technology as an integrated tool for teaching, leading, and learning to master standards.<br />Objective: Students in Persian-Farsi Department and teachers use technology to gather and analyze data for improving student achievement, and students consistently make use of current and emerging technology in the learning process.<br />

Goals and Measurable Objectives Cont.<br />Goal #2: Students in Persian-Farsi Department, teachers, and administrators will benefit from a broad range of educational opportunities and resources through the use of technology.<br />Objective: Technology resources are provided to support the learning and technology needs of the school and DLI community.<br />

Goals and Measurable Objectives Cont.<br />Goal #3: Students in Persian-Farsi Department, teachers, and administrators will have access to the appropriate technology resources and infrastructure necessary to support teaching, leading, and learning.<br />Objective: Schools will have a sufficient number of Internet-enabled computers and the infrastructure necessary to support learning, communication, and administrative goals of the Persian-Farsi department.<br />

Learning Activities<br />One of the specific contents that relates to goals/objectives of professional development is improving teacher and student achievements, therefore, students in Persian-Farsi Department and teachers have to consistently make use of current and emerging technology in the learning process.<br />One of the specific activities that will result in meeting goals/objectives of professional development is using ScribZone to enhance student and teacher abilities in learning/teaching listening skills.<br />

ScribeZone<br />ScribeZone: Educational software for language training and courseware development in the field of language training.<br />ScribeZone Technology is designed to enhance the listening skills indirectly by strengthening the learners’ transcription sub-skills. Evaluation Plan<br />Evaluation Instruments/Data to Be Collected:<br />Professional development training <br />Staff meeting agendas<br />Staff surveys<br />Teacher observation <br />Surveys will be used to guide ongoing instruction<br />Monitoring and Evaluation:<br />Data will be gathered from observation, feedback and surveys. Sign-in sheets at professional development trainings will be collected and data will be analyzed and compiled yearly.<br />EdTech Profile data collected and analyzed by Curriculum and Instruction’s Teacher Specialists to describe increase or decrease in knowledge of how to use technology.<br />The results will be reported to the Technology Group, Team Meetings and Chairpersons-Dean Meetings three times a year. After each review and presentation of the data, modifications to the Professional Development will be made accordingly.<br />

Conclusion<br />The Persian-Farsi Technology Group will review the evaluation plan data collection methods, instruments, common data elements, and timelines, and this information will be provided to other key groups three times a year.<br />Infrastructure, funding and budget will be reviewed following Persian-Farsi department, and site budget timelines. <br />Teacher data on instructional technology use and integration will be correlated with classroom observation data and with the EdTech Profile Technology Assessment data. <br />Teacher and administrator use of district technology resources will be collected through surveys. This information will be gathered yearly and reported to various group and department chairpersons, and department Dean. <br />
