Introduction
Donald John Trump is not short on controversy and criticism when it comes to his outspoken
persona and views on certain issues. Hence the reasons why I chose to write about Donald Trump.
However, to give credit Trump had success of developing businesses such as real estate. A spotlight
has been hovering over him for the majority of his years because of his status among society. With
his notoriety in his show "The Apprentice", he became not only a businessman, but also a celebrity
through television. Trump indeed has influences in the entertainment, business and political world
which makes him a solid candidate for the 2016 presidential run. His charisma and his ambitious,
yet controversial personality is what drove me to choose to write about him.
The most significant curiosity that I have, however, is whether a businessman and essentially a
celebrity can possibly become president. He already has a large following because of his celebrity
notoriety and has influential partners to back him during his campaign. So the momentum that he
has going into this presidential election is increasingly become rapid. His celebrity status and his
long listed resume of creating businesses, undoubtedly brings political and public attention to his
accountability and campaign.
Biography
Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York.

Tower Guard Diversion Essay
In some senses, TD is a totally customary tower guard diversion. The objective is to make due
whatever number influxes of enemies as could reasonably be expected. Each n waves, another way
is created, and the trouble of the new way is conformed to offset the player's execution. The enemies
go along the way from start to finish with no conceivable outcomes for spreading of preoccupation,
and for every monster that reaches the end of the way, the player loses a life. To protect against the
monsters, the player can buy towers and place them deliberately on the sides of the way. The cost of
a tower relies on upon its abilities, which can change along measurements, for example, range,

The expansion of AI strategies to the TD amusement could likewise make an exceptionally difficult
and intriguing diversion with economically reasonable conceivable outcomes. Later on we want to
consolidate these two potential outcomes to make a game that the researchers group can analyze and
gain from, and that the general population can appreciate on a continuous premise. The utilization of
the game by the general population will likewise make further information accessible for
examination. Taking after on from the improvement of this diversion, I might want to make an
opposition to discover significantly additionally fascinating and energizing approaches to broaden
the essential TD amusement utilizing AI procedures. One method for doing this is to have a
subjective rivalry, where the sections are put in the general population area and the most well known
(most played, or a voting framework) passage wins. This could be notwithstanding a goal rivalry,
where the most high scoring AI wins. I trust that this paper will start enthusiasm for the utilization of
TD recreations in the AI field, and that future work will demonstrate the significance of this

The Ambiguity Of The Iconic
This essay will explore the ambiguity of the Iconic, what does it stand for in the modern world of
architecture and how does it originate. The obsession of architecture with this term is slowly taking
over; architects strive towards creating Iconic buildings as a way to gain fame. How does one design
an Iconic building and what does it imply when placed within a particular context? We will explore
this through a particular architectural project of the church of San Giovanni Battista under Florence,
an icon which never really succeeded in achieving its purpose and yet contains some of the very
fundamental and curcial ideas about the Iconic which I want to express in this essay. Why does one
building (such as the Eiffel tower or London Gherkin)become symbolic for a city while other
attempt to replicate this phenomenon fail? And most importantly what role does the context (as a
city morphology or natural habitat) play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which can be seen protruding right underneath the tilted buttress. It is a set of concrete blocks that
suspend the bells of the church. This decision defies the original meaning of church bells. The
element seizes to act as a highlight point of a tower, that used to be the case in many churches
including Russian orthodox and Italian Catholic architecture, where the bell tower always
stoodabove the rest of the structure and the surrounding. Thus bearing symbolic and practical value.
In the church of the highway however, the bells are beneath the weight of architecture, hidden by the
concrete slabs. This furthermore reinforces Michelucci's idea of creating an icon of speed:
architecture that is not meant to become a centre of a town or unifying element of society, but rather
a glimpse of a flash. The bells are no more needed to spread the sound over long distance, which
was the case in a city, and therefore lose their original significance. Instead the bells transform into a

The First Years Of My Life
For the first fifteen years of my life, I never referred to myself as a firm believer in love at first
sight. People often tossed around the word love like it was nothing, but I knew that I had never truly
been in love before. This all changed about a month before my sixteenth birthday when I fell in love
with the windy city. In May of 2015, the band took a four–day trip to Chicago. I was thrilled for the
excursion because I had only traveled outside of Kansas a few times. Those vacations were to the
beach, which is nothing like the bustling metropolis of Chicago. I had never truly experienced the
city life before, so I was beyond ready for this new adventure. When I arrived to Chicago, I expected
to see sights that were familiar to me, like in Kansas City. Hundreds of people traveling in different
directions, towering skyscrapers, and shops were all around the city. When we were just a few miles
outside from Chicago, I could see the whole skyline in the distance. I was completely fascinated by
the hundreds of skyscrapers that lined the city, and the sunrise that turned the sky different shades of
orange, yellow, and pink. The views that I encountered while first entering Chicago were
breathtaking. Throughout the whole trip, I experienced multiple new sights, smells, and sounds. As
the trip came to an end, I realized that I had developed a true love for the natural and urban beauty
of Chicago, and that I eventually want to call this place home in a few years.

Experiential And Themes Of The Community In William Butler...
The Tower is a collection of twenty one poems published in 1928 by William Butler Yeats's.
Recognised as one of the poet's most renowned publications, the collection secured the poets
reputation as a major poet who addressed in rather dramatic terms a considerable amount of central
experiences of the twentieth century. His work reflects a profound consciousness that he was living
through a period of evident universal change.i Events in the poet's personal life as well as the public
realm play a crucial role in The Tower. Within the collection, Yeats's portrays the eminent distinction
between experiential events as well as ideas of nation and community. This is evident through the
way in which his poetry can transform from one of utmost generality ... Show more content on

The poem recalls the speakers recognition with the 'fool' who believes that life can be winded
backwards as well as forwards. The poet brilliantly mediates between experiential and universal
within the work, evident once again through his choice of words. In the early lines of the poem, the
poet refers to the 'fool.' By the end of the poem, it is evident that the poet refers to himself when he
uses the pronoun 'I' in stating that he thinks that he may find a faithful love. His ability to appeal to
the wider community can also be seen in the poem 'All Souls Night.' While the poet conveys a rather
personal recollection in this work, the universal appeal is evident in its questioning of life after
death. Within 'All Souls Night,' the poet expresses his own beliefs about Dublin. He celebrates
alone, but finally finds a place for the dead in his universe, thereby solving to some extent, the
problem of whether there is in fact life after death. While it deals with themes that are universal,
there is also a haunted sense that the speaker knows something that the reader

Barack Obam The Choice Of A New President
Thank you, thank you! Thank you Joe, and thank you Massachusetts for the great honor of serving
as your senator. Thank you guys! What a night. Wow. Michelle Obama, Cory Booker. And we still
have Bernie coming up. Bernie reminds us what Democrats fight for every day. Thank you, Bernie.
Thank you. Now we're here tonight because America faces a choice – the choice of a new president.
On one side is a man who inherited a fortune from his father and kept it going by cheating people,
by skipping out on debts. A man who has never sacrificed anything for anyone. A man who cares
only for himself, every minute of every day. On the other side is one of the smartest, toughest, most
tenacious people on this planet, a woman who fights for children, for women, for healthcare, for
human rights – a woman who fights for all of us and is strong enough to win those fights. We're here
today because our choice is Hillary Clinton. I'm with Hillary. I'm with Hillary. I'm with Hillary. You
know, for me, this choice is personal. It's about who are as people, it's about what kind of a country
we want to be. I grew up in Oklahoma. My daddy ended up as a maintenance man and my mom
worked a minimum wage job at Sears. My three brothers served in the military... Me? I got married
at 19, graduated from a commuter college in Texas that cost $50 a semester. The way I see it, I'm a
janitor's daughter who became a public school teacher, a professor, and a United States senator.

How Social History Has Given Voice Of The Voiceless
When studying history, historians see how social history has given voice to the voiceless. There
have been countless ways and instances when social history has exposed the histories of ancient,
medieval, as well as early modern peoples that had previously not been investigated. Many great
individuals throughout history, with their writings have given the people of their time a great voice.
While these writings and actions have given these individuals a voice, these voices continue with the
history of their people throughout their time as well as after their time. The "Loyalist Teaching", is
an ancient Egyptian set of texts with a series of instructions, in the text it is set as a father speaking
to his children. In the texts, it gives details about loyalty, more importantly, obedience and loyalty to
the pharaoh as well as how members of society must be respectful to the citizens and continue to
participate in their civic duty. In the texts, it is said, "The king is Sustenance; his speech is Plenty.
The man he makes is someone who always exist. He is the heir of every god, the protector of his
creators. They strike his opponents for him." (Unknown 27) While in this text, it does not seem to be
giving a direct voice to those who do not have one, it gives a clear picture of how individuals in that
respective society were expected to praise their pharaoh, or they in return, they would ultimately die.
These teachings help historians to gain a clear picture of how this society ran

Byzantium And Atonement
In each writer's work, the atonement with the father occurs through the hero or heroine meeting the
power that controls them, the power that motivates them to complete their journey. The hero or
heroine must confront and defeat the power that controls him or her in order to procure wisdom that
allows them to complete their journey. In William Butler Yeats' "Sailing to Byzantium," the
atonement with the father occurs when the aging man finally talks to the sages on the mosaic wall,
confronting the ultimate power that controls the aging man's life. Yeats illustrates, "O sages standing
in God's holy fire/ As in the gold mosaic of a wall/ Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, / And
be the singing–masters of my soul/ "(17–20), which depicts ... Show more content on

The sages represent the father–like figure that hold to power to life, which the aging man requests
from sages. As Simon O. Lesser, author of "Sailing to Byzantium"–Another Voyage, Another
Reading, states, "In this poem, it appears to be widely believed, Yeats triumphantly confronts and
liquidates his fears of aging and death.... [H]e discovers that engrossment in poetry is the only, but a
sufficient, recompense for the privatizations of old age" (291), which Yeats' reasoning for writing
this poem: to spread the message that anyone can live forever through their art. While the narrator in
the poem never officially possess a proper name, the poet Yeats writes this poem to express his lack
of fear for death after discovering that his memory continues to live through all his poems. William
Butler Yeats knows that he lives forever through all those who continue to read and understand his
poems, because his works lives on in others. While Yeats never explicitly states this, the idea that
poems keep the poet alive forever derives from philosophical thought and reasoning, similar to the
aging man that visits the mosaic painting. Similar to the aging man in the poem, Yeats searches for
the sage–like figures that provide the answer to death that

The Red Dot Of The Green Dot On The Street Map
After you have completed your part of the mission, call me and let me know, then head back to the
hotel and call it a night." Jim told him. "I will then leave the Tower and drive around a little,
checking to see that the ReVoLT is working and making sure they don 't follow you." Jim smiled.
"Now I 'll know where these two clowns are!" Then, with a light slap on Sam 's back, Jim told him.
"Okay partner, let 's Get 'er Done!"
The two agents then got into their cars. Sam turned on his Agent Tracking Software and saw the

Setting the program to display the ReVoLT as a Red Dot, Sam was ready to go. 'If only my wife
could see me now. ' He thought to himself. 'She would be so proud of me. ' After he thought a bit
more, he told himself, 'No. Actually she would be scared to death and try to talk me out of it! ' It 's a
good thing she can 't see me now! '
"Sam?" His phone spoke."
"I 'm here Jim!" He told his partner.
"I think I have a tail."
"Already?" Sam said. "You 're only three blocks away?"
"I just turned." Jim said. "You see me?"
"Yes." Sam said. "I have a good signal on your phone."
"The Mercedes is tailing me. Our two clowns have taken the bait. I 'll turn left here." After a pause
of about three seconds, Jim told Sam, "They have also made the turn and are following me!" Jim
told Sam. "Charlie Mike, Over! Talk to you later."

Diversity Within The Workplace : A Broad Definition Of...
Today's organizations are being forced to embrace the relevancy of diversity in the growth of global
positioning. The management of diversity has become time–sensitive in organizations and cannot
focus on productivity alone. The treatment of employees and the business model of the organization
will need to be the spotlight. "A broad definition of diversity ranges from personality and work style
to all of the visible dimensions such as race, age, ethnicity or gender, to secondary influences such
as religion, socioeconomics and education, to work diversities such as management and union,
functional level and classification or proximity/distance to headquarters" (Human Resources, 2011).
Promoting diversity in the workplace is beneficial for everyone involved in the process. This
promotion is especially true when employees have sentiments of extrication. Ways that I would
promote an active diversity strategy would include creating a diversity initiative, increasing
community involvement, changing hiring practices, and using technology. A diversity initiative is an
organization's strategic response to diversity (What Is, 2015). Diversity initiatives take a
strategically aligned approach to exploring inside and outside needs of organizational diversity.
Creation of a diversity initiative within my workplace would begin with the development of a vision
followed by a plan for diversity. The project would entail the goals and objectives towards creating
diversity. The

A Short Note On The Giant Tower Builder
Nimrod the Giant Tower Builder When we think of typology in the Old testament, we think of types
of Christ. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb is a classic example. Passages in the New Testament
(see 1 Cor. 5:7; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19) verify typology as a legitimate form of biblical
interpretation. But what about passages in the Old Testament that seem to clearly indicate a "Christ–
type" that are not officially sanctioned by the New Testament writers? There are many types of
Christ not specifically mentioned in the New Testament that are clearly types of Christ. Joseph is a
classic example. Any internet search of Joseph/typology will give plenteous prolepses of Christ. The
question arises then, what of Antichrist types? Judas, Antiochus Epiphanes, Nimrod and King Herod
and are some of many examples. In the book of Esther, we have the reckless and violent Haman, a
type of Antichrist in direct conflict and bitter envy against Mordecai, a type of Christ. In this
chapter, the focus is on Nimrod. He is: A.) One of the clearer examples of Antichrist typology and
B.) Clearly a type of Trump as well. In Genesis chapter 10, it says that Nimrod became a "mighty
one" as well as "a mighty hunter before the Lord." "The ancient rabbis tell us that this statement
means that Nimrod went out from the presence of the Lord, in the sense that he turned his back upon
God and His truth, and became a 'hunter of souls'. Seeking to turn multitudes of men away from
God and unto himself." (The

and told Gabriel that he could go if he would like to. He nodded and climbed down and walked
down the street to the church. I spent hours on watch with nothing happening, then my mind started
to wander to Negan. 'God he's such a Cocky, arrogant, egotistical, self important, self absorbed,
erratic, son of a bitch, but goddamn is he a good looking man. He's straightforward, outgoing,
persistent, practical, and witty. but hot...' I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the rumble

The Metabolism Movement
The Metabolism movement is known as a modern architecture movement, which emerged from
japan. The movement had its blooming start during the World Design Congress held at Tokyo in
1960, when a group of young architects and designers, who called themselves "Metabolists,"
presented their radical and visionary proposals of urban and architectural schemes. Among the
schemes that were presented were the "Marine city" and the "Tower shape city" by Kiyonori
Kikutake. This presentation introduced the motabolist movement to the audience. The main
members of the movement were architects Kiyonori Kikutake, Masato Otaka, Fumihiko Maki,
Noriaki Kurokawa, the architectural critic Noboru Kawazoe. And Kenzo Tange who is recognized as
the mentor of these Metabolists. The architects involved envisioned the ideal city, and planned
experimental architecture and cities that are adaptable to change they developed flexible buildings,
houses that could expand or shrink according to demand, cities that were sustainable, with buildings
made of recyclable materials. All of this visions and views were arose as a response to reconstruct
japan after the human and environmental disaster that followed the atomic bombing of Japan during
the World War II.

battle you will get around 27–33 trophies. When you first start and you lose a battle you will only

What Deck Should I Use? Before you start playing a real game you are forced to choose your decks.
You have eight slots to fill with unique cards. When you start building your deck keep in mind you
don't want the average over 4.0 elixir. This leaves you at a disadvantage because your cards will be
too expensive so you will be vulnerable to decks that constantly rush you. You will also want a tank

(legendary), Golem (rare), and Royale Giant (common). Keep in mind you will unlock these cards at
different times so it will be best to use the giant at first.
After you have this tank you should support it with a support card. This means to place the card
behind the tank so the archer tower and the opponent 's troops will hit the tank while your support

The Importance Of The Tower Of Babel
"The most segregated place is Sunday service, what does that say about the God you worship?" –
Lecrae; Dirty Water
Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it
was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying
to be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human
achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event,
culture had erupted onto the earth.
The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our
ability to be god–like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like
Hitler and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in
mentoring positions in our lives.
"We don't worship for God, but for ourselves" was a quote from Joel Osteen's Wife, her message is a
simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the
grace that God has hand–delivered us.
The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in
Acts. Steven was killed giving a list of issues that he found in the church (Acts 7), and Martin
Luther, and many other have died at the hands of the church. Yet, my statement remains; Our battle
has changed from a physical one to a psychological one.

Yeats' on Change and Stability, and How They...
The world is a place that is ever changing, yet somehow it always stays the same. There is a saying,
the more things change, the more they stay the same. Another goes like this: history has a way of
repeating itself. So does that mean that people can't learn from the mistakes of the past? Certainly
not. There are brilliant minds in this world that can visualize in what ways events have gone wrong
in history. They are able to learn the faults and strengths of other, older civilizations, and build on
those. Unfortunately, these minds are few and far between, and the rest of us are left to fend for
ourselves. There comes a time in every country/civilization's existence that a bad leader takes the
reins and things go south in a hurry. This is when declension of state is put into effect, as Plato
would have it. This rise and fall of civilization is something William Butler Yeats was very familiar
with. His love of history and the sciences were combined with a philosophy all his own. His
philosophy was that in all of the fields of history, art, personality, and society, there are conflicting
forces at work: change and stability. In each society, these two forces are at work, and that can
sometimes make things chaotic in the lives of the people in the society. These forces don't even have
to be a part of society; stability and change can be a part of everyday life. Five poems of Yeats' that
portray the change in the world, and the stability too, are When You Are Old, The Lake Isle

Clifton Suspension Bridge Essay examples
Clifton Suspension Bridge
The Clifton Suspension Bridge is located in Bristol England, and spans the beautiful Avon gorge.
This bridge has become the symbol of Bristol much like the Eiffel tower has of Paris, and the Opera
house has of Sydney. The story of the Clifton Suspension Bridge began in 1754 with the dream of a
Bristol wine merchant who donated his life savings to build a bridge over the gorge. To decide on a
suitable design for the bridge a competition was held. Thomas Telford, the leading civil architect of
the time was the judge. Mr. Telford attempted to submit his own design; however the decision to
declare himself the winner was overruled and a second competition was held. This time, contrary to

Also the original design was narrower than the final structure; the increased width has an interesting
story. Apparently a local land owner wished to drive his carriage to Bristol without having to walk
or negotiate the steep roads on the sides of the gorge, so he convinced the engineers, and paid for the
necessary modifications to widen the design of the bridge. It is fortunate that he insisted on this
widening because the bridge as it was originally designed would have never been able to cater to
modern traffic demands. The bridge was finished in 1859 and opened to the public in 1864.
Before the bridge was built the slip way was the only way to cross the river without taking a long
detour. The slip way was crossed at high tide by rowing a boat across, and at low tide by crossing on
series gangplanks that were tied together. Both crossings were fairly dangerous and extremely
inconvenient and therefore a bridge was a very popular idea.
The Clifton Suspension bridge is world famous and one of the essential things to see in the West
Country. It is a beautiful piece of engineering that is lovely maintained by the bridge staff. The two
towers of the bridge span from Clifton to summerset, the Clifton tower is build on a solid rock
surface that acts as a foundation, however the summerset tower needed a massive brick buttress
before work on the tower could begin. The towers though similar are not identical. The towers are

Finland before moving back to Canada as a teenager and later in his mid–twenties moving to New

The dystopian and post–human themes are majorly present in Wittfooth work; While, marrying the
realistic aspect of animals and nature. Wittfooth's work invoke a deep regret for the contemporary
relation of humans with nature. Yet, proposing a hopeful outlook with recent pieces that have a great
feeling of renaissance toward the old ways of Shamanism. All in all, Wittfooth's art entices the
viewer to evaluate where they stand on the positive or negative impact on nature and how to
reconciled the bond long lost between humans and Nature.

The Experiences of Montag
In the beginning of this part, the writer presents the scene where Beatty prepares for putting
Montag's house on fire. Before igniting the fire, Beatty tells Montag that all of what is about to
happen, is a result of a wrong decision Montag made, which is the decision of reading and collecting
books. Then, Mildred runs out of the door with a suitcase, and takes a taxi that was waiting for her at
the curb. So, Montag suspects Mildred to be the one who sounded the alarm for the firemen to
come. After that, Faber asks Montag about what is happening at the moment, through the earpiece
that he gave to Montag before. Montag tells him, "This is happening to me"(Bradbury 115). When
Faber comprehends the situation, he advises Montag to run away from the whole scene. At this
moment, Beatty starts speaking to Montag about the beauty of fire. Beatty claims that the real
beauty of fire lies in its perpetual motion, which was the thing that man wanted to invent but never
did. He also thinks that fire is the solution to problems and burdens. that since Montag is a problem
and a burden, then fire is the solution that will lift Montag off his shoulders. As a tool of mental
torture for Montag, Beatty insists that Montag burns his own house, with his own hands, using a
flame thrower. Through Montag's earpiece, Faber repeats himself, and tells Montag that he should
run away. Montag responds to Faber aloud and tells him that he can't possibly run, since he is
surrounded by the Hound.

My Best Day
Saturday, a day beloved by many due to its relaxing nature. I would think a Saturday like this one,
would be the ideal day to remain home, far from the anomalously large crowds gathering downtown
for the 150th Canada Day celebration, however, I knew going was inevitable. Regardless of whether
it was willingly or not, I was going. My grandmother's sister's husband's brother's daughter's
daughter (who I will refer to as my 'aunt' (though she is more like a distant cousin)), her husband
(my 'uncle'), and her 2 daughters (my 'cousins') had come all the way from a suburb in the United
States for this day and consequently, my mother would not allow me to remain home.
"Beep, beep, beep," shrieked the last of several alarms my mother had set to wake me up.
It was the school day before Saturday and the night my cousins and their parents arrived in Toronto.
They had rented a car and there had been no need to pick them up.
Once school was long over and it was nearly midnight, I heard the ring of a doorbell. Contrasted to
the silence of the house, it sounded boisterous. My mother opened the door to find my cousins,
Eleanor and Piper, along with their parents. Both of them and myself were around the same age,
Elenor being the same age as me (12) and Piper being a year older.
"Why are you up so late Genesis?" my aunt asked once she spotted me. Due to no one other than my
father having met them previously, I was understandably surprised she knew my name. Not being
able to conceive a

The And Benefits Of Human Sin

Two Sides To Every Coin: Weighing the Consequences and Benefits of Human Sin
The Tower of Babel, the Fruit of the tree of Knowledge, and the expulsion of Adam and Eve from
the Garden all share in common the stern consequences of human actions in the face of God. The
significance of these biblical events are often associated with negative views of the punishments that
were placed. The Tower of Babel is associated with God's punishment of "scattering" humans across
the earth thus separating a once unified people. The expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden for
eating the Fruit of the tree of Knowledge is discerned as a negative outcome for man's wickedness.
Although there is significance in the punishments God places on humans in these chapters of
Genesis, positive effects do emerge from these events as well. Among the repercussions of human's
sin emerge free will, the power of choice, and the ability for human beings to develop and evolve.
The building of the Tower of Babel and the consequences humankind suffered from doing so
portrays the relationship between human beings and God. By building The Tower of Babel, "...a
tower with its top in the heavens..." (Genesis 11:4), mankind believed that they could reach the
realm of God himself, physically but more importantly, symbolically. By building

The Tower Of Terror
The Terrifying Tower of Terror
It 's a dreary morning, the sky was blocked by clouds that looked like they were about to pour on me
at any moment. I stared at the Tower of Terror 's entrance. Then I started my way in. My visit to the
Tower of Terror is one memory I will never forget. My raging emotions on that ride was once in a
lifetime. Out of all the rides at Disneyworld, it was my favorite.though I 've been on many
amusement park rides, though my favorite was of course the Tower of Terror. I went on it with my

Then the line started moving forward. As I made my way though the corridors, the line finally
shortened and we went through a door that led to what seemed like a boiler room and basement.
There were boilers in every corner and I all most ran into one! Finally we stopped in front of an
elevator with dim green lights shining on the doors. After we stood there for about three minutes, we
heard a ding like the elevator was coming and the doors opened. Once I had heard the ding, I had
already known that it was our turn to get on and I was terrified.
I started walking in, taking shaky steps as I sat down and braced myself for the scariest ride I will
have ever been on. Before I had gotten on my brother told me to get good seats, so I sat in the very
front.
It took a while for everybody to get on so I sat there waiting for the people to stop coming on, but
my head was clouded with thousands of thoughts like, what if the ride got stuck or will I get sick?
Before I could ask my mom if she thought everything was going to be fine when the doors shut and
I realized that everybody was already seated and buckled in. So I took deep breaths and tried to calm
myself when suddenly, it started to move and the lights switched off. Then dim lights like the ones
at a hospital at night turned on casting a faint glow across the elevator. It showed scenes from

The History and Importance of the Trebuchet
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." A. C. Clarke (Clarke).
Throughout history, people have relied on technology to aid them. Technology has played an
important role throughout time as a tool that has allowed people to achieve accomplishments never
before possible. Technology has been crucial to survival as it has been used in warfare. Technology
was used for both offensive and defense systems during times of siege, and could determine the fate
of entire empires. Siege engines were some of the most important technological advancements of
their time and could drastically sway outcomes of battles. Of the siege engines, the trebuchet played
a very influential role in history for nearly two thousand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compared to the trebuchet, the designs of other siege weapons were lacking in many respects. The
most important of these other siege engines included the Greek ballista, the catapult, and variations
on the catapult design, such as the Roman onager and mangonel. The ballista's design was very
similar to an extremely large crossbow with a guide chute to keep the projectile on path. A large
ballista could launch an eight pound stone over 450 yards. It took two men to operate a ballista
(Hamper). A standard catapult used the inconsistent strength and weight of men as a source of
power. Groups of men had to work to pull down the catapult bar in order to launch the objects. Such
catapults could typically throw as much as a fifty pound rock. An onager was type of a catapult with
a short arm that would be launched forward by many twisted sinews. Both the onager and the
ballista were limited in accuracy and range, because the tightly twisted sinews and ropes continually
wore out and needed to be replaced. Likewise, the standard catapult lacked accuracy because of the
inconsistent strength and weight of the men who fired it. While all of these siege machines were
useful, none of them had the range, or were as powerful, accurate, and widely used as the trebuchet
(Gurstelle 18–22). The trebuchet was by far the most powerful, accurate, and reliable of all siege
weapons

Technology And Environment : Technology
Technology and Environment Technology has become so helpful to our lives in so many ways.
Technology is convenient and efficient. It aids us to live life more conveniently by allowing us to do
more in less effort. It, then, becomes rather difficult to undermine the importance in which
technology plays within our lives. Many people have benefited from the invention of technology
and would most often find it complicated to do without. Year after year, technologies become
reinvented through new ideas and the betterment of equipment and tools. Thus, if an old technology
does not suffice, a new one will easily come in favour shortly after.
Because of the rather innovative current forms of technology, new and advanced technologies are
forming at an impeccable pace. The expressions, "I would die without Internet" or "I could not ever
live without my cell phone" imply that life would be hard to live from the lack of such technologies.
However, such expressions become rather ironic because life is already in harm's way due to
technology itself. The relationship between technology within society and environmental grounds
are problematic. Technology serves as an efficient function to our lives yet can become detrimental
to our health which is demonstrated through Ronald Wright's theory of the progress trap and theories
of environmental degradation (Cameron, par. 5). However, the repair and reversal of a damaged
environment depends largely on technology through means for

The Fate Of America Essay
The Fate of America
According to the text, "The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a
democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don 't have to waste your time
voting", (Bukowski 1). The decisions made in this election will affect the future of America.
According to Oxford Dictionaries the president is "an elected head of state in a democratic setting",
(Oxford dictionaries 2). A good president is someone who is: experienced in political matters,
intelligent, a good leader, has quality communication skills, a good decision maker, and confident in
their ideals. This election will go down in the history books no matter what the result is and will be
looked back on and analyzed by future generations. The opportunity is there to elect the first female
president of the Unites States, Hilary Clinton. Women have gone from fighting for the right to vote,
now one is on the ballot with the opportunity to be the commander and chief. We are on the brink of
the third election where a Caucasian male will not be the president. Or, the other side of this coin is
the Republican Nominee Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman, television producer, and
politician. He was born in New York City on June 14th, 1946. He attended New York Military
Academy from the age of thirteen, but he never formally served in the military. He received control
of his father's real estate and construction firm in 1971. He took his father's business and turned

Women of the Gold Rush
Women of the Gold Rush
Imagine living in a world where women lacked the same rights as men. A place where they were not
able to get the jobs that they wanted and were often not credited for their actions. Most times if a
woman were to try to get a job or even participate in an activity, they would hide their true identities
and pretend to be men. This is what women in California had to do in the 1800's to early 1900's.
Many women came to California to work as prostitutes or entertainers during the 1850's (Women).
However, there were still many women in San Francisco who were very influential and leave an
everlasting impression on the city. Women such as Lillie Hitchcock Coit, Isadora Duncan, and Mary
Ellen Pleasant were all very important people living in San Francisco during the 1800's to 1900's,
and were able to make a difference in their community. Being the first woman to participate in a fire
rescue and late be made the mascot for firemen was Lillie Hitchcock Coit. What made her famous
amongst the people of San Francisco was from the first time that she participated in a fire rescue
with the Knickerbocker Engine Company No.5 (Museum). It was not common for women to work,
especially in a job that required strength and "manpower". She moved to California from West Point
in 1851 with her parents. Ever since she was a young girl, Lillie found a fascination in fire fighting,

The Symbol of the Tower of London
Ever since its creation by Gundolf in 1078, the Tower of London has served many purposes.
Whether it was a royal residence or prison and torture chamber, most importantly, it has been a
significant symbol and monument of English history and architecture. A small, modest building,
many tourists are surprised to see the Tower of London, as it is not the magnificent, tall tower they
were expecting. For some years, the Tower of London was used as a royal residence where
monarchs would stay for a night before departing to continue their journey the next day. More
interestingly, it was used as a prison, torture chamber, and execution grounds.
Although, from the outside, the Tower of London is not very lavish when compared with the
majestic, grand, and intricate buildings in England, it was once a desired place for royals to stay –
whether for one night or longer. During the time it was used as a royal residence, it was referred to
as The White Tower, and was quite an alluring place. The Tower of London (or The White Tower)
consisted of several buildings surrounded by a wall and mote. Later on after the construction was
completed, Richard the Lionheart, Edward I, and Henry VIII enlarged the complex.
Colorful, pretty, and comfortable, the Tower of London during its time as a royal residence
contained more than just stone buildings – it was a center of life. Bustling servants, tradesmen, and
court attendants would hurry around the lively tower, going in and out of the huge kitchen,

The Wise Sea Poem Analysis
The Wise Men Speak
(An Analysis on Sailing)
William Butler Yeats, was a poet from the Victorian age. Philosophers say that Yeats was one of the
greatest poets of all time, "William Butler Yeats is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets
of the 20th century"(Adams). One of Yeats most famous poem was Sailing to Byzantium. In the
poem Sailing, Yeats expresses three very important messages. The messages that Yeats expresses in
Sailing are, that the soul wants to leave body when it's about time to go, the elders are more wise,
and that younger generation doesn't listen to their elders. In the poem Sailing, Yeats expresses that as
our body ages our souls are ready to be set free. Our souls never age, but our bodies do. As our
bodies start to age our souls are ready to be set free from our aging bodies. Yeats states that when
our souls are close to being set free they start to sing, "Soul clap its hands and sing, louder sing"(11).
The soul is celebrating that it's about to be set free from its aging body. Our bodies are dead, but our
souls continue to live on. Dr. Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill, Massachusetts states, "Human
beings are possessed of souls which depart their bodies after death and that these souls have
detectable physical presences were around well before the 20th century". Our souls continue to live
after we are no longer living. Another message represented in the poem Sailing, is that our elders are
wise. Our elders are wiser than the young because

Comparing Foucault And Panopticism
Panopticism Panopticism is a social theory named after the Panopticon, according to Foucault, his
describes a watch tower in a prison and he thinks Panopticism is how people act different when
they're being watched. Rayner perspective on Panopticism is how we can use social media to our
advantage. In this essay, I will analyze both Foucault and Rayner perspective on Panopticism and
will determine the rhetorical appeals of both writings. This is an example of ethos because
"Generally speaking, it might be said that discipline are techniques for assuring the ordering of
human multiplicities. It is true that there is nothing exceptional or even characteristics in this: every
system or power or presented with the same problem" ( Foucault, 2012, p. 207). Foucault was a
French historian and philosopher. He had a strong influence in philosophy, but also in a wide range
of humanistic and social scientific disciplines. Foucault was the philosopher who created the term,
"Panopticism". This is an example of Logos because, "In this task of adjustment, discipline had to
solve a number of problems for which the old economy of power was not sufficiently equipped. It
could reduce the inefficiency of mass phenomena: reduce what, in a multiplicity, make it much less
manageable than unity...." (Foucault, 2012, p. 208). He talks about the watch tower in a prison and
they noticed when people are being watched from the watchtower, people change their behavior.

Roland Truly a Hero in The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three
Throughout history on science fiction and fantasy novels, the hero has always been
portrayed as someone who is more than just your regular human. Someone who has no flaw in their
qualities other than compassion, which often causes their downfall. Always, in the end, the hero

happens when the hero is superhuman? Is he still a hero? What if he kills the innocent for his own

Roland does not follow this. This may make his efforts noble, but the fact of the matter is that he is a
ruthless killer, who somewhere along the lines, got caught up in the usual misconception that all
protagonists are heroes. We are given signs of Roland not being a hero constantly throughout both
novels, however the signs are more apparent to the reader in the first novel. The first act of this is
when we see him at the hut with the old man. He immediately gets ready to kill the old man because
he thinks he will do him harm: He looked up, startled. The shaft was about fifteen feet deep: easy
enough for Brown to drop a rock on him, break his head, and steal everything on him...When he
came trough the hut's door and walked down the steps, Brown was poking ears of corninto the
ember of a tiny fire.(The Gunslinger 21–22)
Roland is always paranoid. I do not know of modern day heroes that are paranoid. This is one of the
first indications that we are given. Later in the novel Roland comes through a town called Tull.
While in this town he meets a women that he falls in love with. He then proceeds to kill the whole
town, and the love of his life because they now stand between him and the tower. A woman who is

English and European History: The Tower of London Essay
Tower of London The age old fortress stands as a monument of English and European history.
Through monarchs, bloody battles, from prisoners to executions and a touch from all London's
prominent events in history, the Tower Of London is renowned for more than just its magnificent
appearance.
The tower was founded by William, Duke of Normandy when he conquered England in 1066. He
began building the stronghold as a declaration of his power to the English people who were resentful
of his reign. William invaded England and defeated King Harold and his armies at the Battle of
Hastings. When he began building, the white tower was constructed, which was the first step of

Once this became viewed as too uncivilized and brutal, the menagerie was used as a zoo instead.
Later even the zoo was closed after several animals escaped and attacked each other. In the winter a
large Ice rink is opened to the public at the west wall of the grounds. The Ice rink is frozen over a
large field to make a spectacular attraction to the royal castle. Today the tower is mostly used as
museum and display showcase for the British War Department. The Royal Regalia is on display in
the Jewel House. This magnificent spectacle consists of the Imperial Crown, which was fashioned
for the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838. The largest piece of diamond cut from the Cullinan
crystal was made into the Star of Africa, a 530 carat diamond that was placed on the royal crown.
Although the tower is a great tourist site, it has a rich and bloody past. The Tower of London is well
known for its infamous prison, which held many recognizable names throughout history. Ranulf
Flambard a chief tax–collector, was imprisoned under King Henry I. He was the first prisoner in the
tower and he escaped the prison. Flambard had made himself unpopular doing King William Rufus's
dirty work, collecting large taxes and becoming very rich. When William died, his brother Henry I
accused the Bishop of extortion and sent him to the White Tower in chains. Flambard escaped by a

Being Bullied And Having No Recollection Essay
The Third Grade: Being bullied and having no recollection Introduction There comes a point in life
when most young students are bullied. Some students experience worse bullying than others and
suffer more greatly from it. According to US studies, "One out of every four students (22%) report
being bullied during the school year. (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015) 64 percent of
children who were bullied did not report it; only 36 percent reported the bullying." (Pacer's, 2016)
Most children do not report it, leading to their self–esteem dropping to an all–time low. Whether the
child turns to God or has a friend as their saving grace, it is important that they get through those
troubles. My Experience The time in my life when I was bullied was a very rough patch and
unfortunately a time that I have no memory of. My brain has seemed to block out these events from
my mind as I have no recollection of the third grade. I was bullied at a very young age due to my
shyness. The second reason I was bullied was due to the fact I was one of the youngest students in
the class and also extremely tiny for my age. I fit in better playing with the boys because they were
more friendly and just as smart as me, and I was much more girly than the other 8 girls in my class.
By the time I was in first grade my only two friends had moved to other schools. Because of this I
was left very secluded. One of the first examples the bullying that happened was because of my size

The topic I am going to write about is The Eiffel Tower in France about its structure, history etc.
Because Eiffel Tower is a very significant man–made building at that time(1889) and still the most
famous and recognizable tower people could think of in the world nowadays.
1.1 History and background of The Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel Tower is located in Paris, France, buildt in 1889 and it is 1063 feet tall. The reason of the
name of the Eiffel Tower is because it was named after Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, who was a famous
civil engineer and architect. The tower was built for the International Exhibition of Paris in memory

*The tower saves a lot of land space.
Disadvantage
*Because the tower is very high and famous, it became a very popular place for people to commit
suicide, approximately more than 350 people jumped off from Eiffel Tower and died. So safety is
one of the major disadvantages of The Eiffel Tower.
*The cost is often much higher to build a tower rather than a lower structure, and requires more
people and money to clean or repair from high.
2.5 Interesting facts about the Eiffle Tower
Thomas Edison visited the tower in September 1889 and left a message of congratulations for "M

In February 1912 Austrian Franz Reichelt attempted to jump off the first floor of the tower using his

Donald Trump Is Not Short On Controversy And Criticism

  • 1. Donald Trump Is Not Short On Controversy And Criticism Donald Trump By Christian Arca Political Science 1 CRN # 34546 Professor Uranga March 18, 2016 Introduction Donald John Trump is not short on controversy and criticism when it comes to his outspoken persona and views on certain issues. Hence the reasons why I chose to write about Donald Trump. However, to give credit Trump had success of developing businesses such as real estate. A spotlight has been hovering over him for the majority of his years because of his status among society. With his notoriety in his show "The Apprentice", he became not only a businessman, but also a celebrity through television. Trump indeed has influences in the entertainment, business and political world which makes him a solid candidate for the 2016 presidential run. His charisma and his ambitious, yet controversial personality is what drove me to choose to write about him. The most significant curiosity that I have, however, is whether a businessman and essentially a celebrity can possibly become president. He already has a large following because of his celebrity notoriety and has influential partners to back him during his campaign. So the momentum that he has going into this presidential election is increasingly become rapid. His celebrity status and his long listed resume of creating businesses, undoubtedly brings political and public attention to his accountability and campaign. • 2. Tower Guard Diversion Essay In some senses, TD is a totally customary tower guard diversion. The objective is to make due whatever number influxes of enemies as could reasonably be expected. Each n waves, another way is created, and the trouble of the new way is conformed to offset the player's execution. The enemies go along the way from start to finish with no conceivable outcomes for spreading of preoccupation, and for every monster that reaches the end of the way, the player loses a life. To protect against the monsters, the player can buy towers and place them deliberately on the sides of the way. The cost of a tower relies on upon its abilities, which can change along measurements, for example, range, terminating speed, poison impact and so on., and cash to buy ... The expansion of AI strategies to the TD amusement could likewise make an exceptionally difficult and intriguing diversion with economically reasonable conceivable outcomes. Later on we want to consolidate these two potential outcomes to make a game that the researchers group can analyze and gain from, and that the general population can appreciate on a continuous premise. The utilization of the game by the general population will likewise make further information accessible for examination. Taking after on from the improvement of this diversion, I might want to make an opposition to discover significantly additionally fascinating and energizing approaches to broaden the essential TD amusement utilizing AI procedures. One method for doing this is to have a subjective rivalry, where the sections are put in the general population area and the most well known (most played, or a voting framework) passage wins. This could be notwithstanding a goal rivalry, where the most high scoring AI wins. I trust that this paper will start enthusiasm for the utilization of TD recreations in the AI field, and that future work will demonstrate the significance of this straightforward yet deliberately complex ... • 3. The Ambiguity Of The Iconic This essay will explore the ambiguity of the Iconic, what does it stand for in the modern world of architecture and how does it originate. The obsession of architecture with this term is slowly taking over; architects strive towards creating Iconic buildings as a way to gain fame. How does one design an Iconic building and what does it imply when placed within a particular context? We will explore this through a particular architectural project of the church of San Giovanni Battista under Florence, an icon which never really succeeded in achieving its purpose and yet contains some of the very fundamental and curcial ideas about the Iconic which I want to express in this essay. Why does one building (such as the Eiffel tower or London Gherkin)become symbolic for a city while other attempt to replicate this phenomenon fail? And most importantly what role does the context (as a city morphology or natural habitat) play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which can be seen protruding right underneath the tilted buttress. It is a set of concrete blocks that suspend the bells of the church. This decision defies the original meaning of church bells. The element seizes to act as a highlight point of a tower, that used to be the case in many churches including Russian orthodox and Italian Catholic architecture, where the bell tower always stoodabove the rest of the structure and the surrounding. Thus bearing symbolic and practical value. In the church of the highway however, the bells are beneath the weight of architecture, hidden by the concrete slabs. This furthermore reinforces Michelucci's idea of creating an icon of speed: architecture that is not meant to become a centre of a town or unifying element of society, but rather a glimpse of a flash. The bells are no more needed to spread the sound over long distance, which was the case in a city, and therefore lose their original significance. Instead the bells transform into a purely technical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The First Years Of My Life For the first fifteen years of my life, I never referred to myself as a firm believer in love at first sight. People often tossed around the word love like it was nothing, but I knew that I had never truly been in love before. This all changed about a month before my sixteenth birthday when I fell in love with the windy city. In May of 2015, the band took a four–day trip to Chicago. I was thrilled for the excursion because I had only traveled outside of Kansas a few times. Those vacations were to the beach, which is nothing like the bustling metropolis of Chicago. I had never truly experienced the city life before, so I was beyond ready for this new adventure. When I arrived to Chicago, I expected to see sights that were familiar to me, like in Kansas City. Hundreds of people traveling in different directions, towering skyscrapers, and shops were all around the city. When we were just a few miles outside from Chicago, I could see the whole skyline in the distance. I was completely fascinated by the hundreds of skyscrapers that lined the city, and the sunrise that turned the sky different shades of orange, yellow, and pink. The views that I encountered while first entering Chicago were breathtaking. Throughout the whole trip, I experienced multiple new sights, smells, and sounds. As the trip came to an end, I realized that I had developed a true love for the natural and urban beauty of Chicago, and that I eventually want to call this place home in a few years. The windy ... • 5. Experiential And Themes Of The Community In William Butler... The Tower is a collection of twenty one poems published in 1928 by William Butler Yeats's. Recognised as one of the poet's most renowned publications, the collection secured the poets reputation as a major poet who addressed in rather dramatic terms a considerable amount of central experiences of the twentieth century. His work reflects a profound consciousness that he was living through a period of evident universal change.i Events in the poet's personal life as well as the public realm play a crucial role in The Tower. Within the collection, Yeats's portrays the eminent distinction between experiential events as well as ideas of nation and community. This is evident through the way in which his poetry can transform from one of utmost generality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem recalls the speakers recognition with the 'fool' who believes that life can be winded backwards as well as forwards. The poet brilliantly mediates between experiential and universal within the work, evident once again through his choice of words. In the early lines of the poem, the poet refers to the 'fool.' By the end of the poem, it is evident that the poet refers to himself when he uses the pronoun 'I' in stating that he thinks that he may find a faithful love. His ability to appeal to the wider community can also be seen in the poem 'All Souls Night.' While the poet conveys a rather personal recollection in this work, the universal appeal is evident in its questioning of life after death. Within 'All Souls Night,' the poet expresses his own beliefs about Dublin. Michelle Obama, Cory Booker. And we still have Bernie coming up. Bernie reminds us what Democrats fight for every day. Thank you, Bernie. Thank you. Now we're here tonight because America faces a choice – the choice of a new president. On one side is a man who inherited a fortune from his father and kept it going by cheating people, by skipping out on debts. A man who has never sacrificed anything for anyone. A man who cares only for himself, every minute of every day. On the other side is one of the smartest, toughest, most tenacious people on this planet, a woman who fights for children, for women, for healthcare, for human rights – a woman who fights for all of us and is strong enough to win those fights. We're here today because our choice is Hillary Clinton. I'm with Hillary. I'm with Hillary. I'm with Hillary. You know, for me, this choice is personal. It's about who are as people, it's about what kind of a country we want to be. I grew up in Oklahoma. My daddy ended up as a maintenance man and my mom worked a minimum wage job at Sears. My three brothers served in the military... Me? I got married at 19, graduated from a commuter college in Texas that cost $50 a semester. • 7. How Social History Has Given Voice Of The Voiceless When studying history, historians see how social history has given voice to the voiceless. There have been countless ways and instances when social history has exposed the histories of ancient, medieval, as well as early modern peoples that had previously not been investigated. Many great individuals throughout history, with their writings have given the people of their time a great voice. While these writings and actions have given these individuals a voice, these voices continue with the history of their people throughout their time as well as after their time. The "Loyalist Teaching", is an ancient Egyptian set of texts with a series of instructions, in the text it is set as a father speaking to his children. In the texts, it gives details about loyalty, more importantly, obedience and loyalty to the pharaoh as well as how members of society must be respectful to the citizens and continue to participate in their civic duty. In the texts, it is said, "The king is Sustenance; his speech is Plenty. The man he makes is someone who always exist. He is the heir of every god, the protector of his creators. They strike his opponents for him." (Unknown 27) While in this text, it does not seem to be giving a direct voice to those who do not have one, it gives a clear picture of how individuals in that respective society were expected to praise their pharaoh, or they in return, they would ultimately die. These teachings help historians to gain a clear picture of how this society ran ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Byzantium And Atonement In each writer's work, the atonement with the father occurs through the hero or heroine meeting the power that controls them, the power that motivates them to complete their journey. The hero or heroine must confront and defeat the power that controls him or her in order to procure wisdom that allows them to complete their journey. In William Butler Yeats' "Sailing to Byzantium," the atonement with the father occurs when the aging man finally talks to the sages on the mosaic wall, confronting the ultimate power that controls the aging man's life. Yeats illustrates, "O sages standing in God's holy fire/ As in the gold mosaic of a wall/ Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, / And be the singing–masters of my soul/ "(17–20), which depicts ... • 10. Diversity Within The Workplace : A Broad Definition Of... Today's organizations are being forced to embrace the relevancy of diversity in the growth of global positioning. The management of diversity has become time–sensitive in organizations and cannot focus on productivity alone. The treatment of employees and the business model of the organization will need to be the spotlight. "A broad definition of diversity ranges from personality and work style to all of the visible dimensions such as race, age, ethnicity or gender, to secondary influences such as religion, socioeconomics and education, to work diversities such as management and union, functional level and classification or proximity/distance to headquarters" (Human Resources, 2011). Promoting diversity in the workplace is beneficial for everyone involved in the process. This promotion is especially true when employees have sentiments of extrication. Ways that I would promote an active diversity strategy would include creating a diversity initiative, increasing community involvement, changing hiring practices, and using technology. A diversity initiative is an organization's strategic response to diversity (What Is, 2015). Diversity initiatives take a strategically aligned approach to exploring inside and outside needs of organizational diversity. Creation of a diversity initiative within my workplace would begin with the development of a vision followed by a plan for diversity. The project would entail the goals and objectives towards creating diversity. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. A Short Note On The Giant Tower Builder Nimrod the Giant Tower Builder When we think of typology in the Old testament, we think of types of Christ. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb is a classic example. Passages in the New Testament (see 1 Cor. 5:7; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19) verify typology as a legitimate form of biblical interpretation. But what about passages in the Old Testament that seem to clearly indicate a "Christ– type" that are not officially sanctioned by the New Testament writers? There are many types of Christ not specifically mentioned in the New Testament that are clearly types of Christ. Joseph is a classic example. Any internet search of Joseph/typology will give plenteous prolepses of Christ. The question arises then, what of Antichrist types? Judas, Antiochus Epiphanes, Nimrod and King Herod and are some of many examples. In the book of Esther, we have the reckless and violent Haman, a type of Antichrist in direct conflict and bitter envy against Mordecai, a type of Christ. In this chapter, the focus is on Nimrod. He is: A.) One of the clearer examples of Antichrist typology and B.) Clearly a type of Trump as well. In Genesis chapter 10, it says that Nimrod became a "mighty one" as well as "a mighty hunter before the Lord." "The ancient rabbis tell us that this statement means that Nimrod went out from the presence of the Lord, in the sense that he turned his back upon God and His truth, and became a 'hunter of souls'. The Importance Of The Tower Of Babel "The most segregated place is Sunday service, what does that say about the God you worship?" – Lecrae; Dirty Water Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying to be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event, culture had erupted onto the earth. The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our ability to be god–like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like Hitler and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in mentoring positions in our lives. "We don't worship for God, but for ourselves" was a quote from Joel Osteen's Wife, her message is a simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the grace that God has hand–delivered us. The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in Acts. Steven was killed giving a list of issues that he found in the church (Acts 7), and Martin Luther, and many other have died at the hands of the church. There is a saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Another goes like this: history has a way of repeating itself. So does that mean that people can't learn from the mistakes of the past? Certainly not. There are brilliant minds in this world that can visualize in what ways events have gone wrong in history. They are able to learn the faults and strengths of other, older civilizations, and build on those. Unfortunately, these minds are few and far between, and the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves. There comes a time in every country/civilization's existence that a bad leader takes the reins and things go south in a hurry. This is when declension of state is put into effect, as Plato would have it. This rise and fall of civilization is something William Butler Yeats was very familiar with. His love of history and the sciences were combined with a philosophy all his own. His philosophy was that in all of the fields of history, art, personality, and society, there are conflicting forces at work: change and stability. In each society, these two forces are at work, and that can sometimes make things chaotic in the lives of the people in the society. These forces don't even have to be a part of society; stability and change can be a part of everyday life. Five poems of Yeats' that portray the change in the world, and the stability too, are When You Are Old, The Lake Isle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To decide on a suitable design for the bridge a competition was held. Thomas Telford, the leading civil architect of the time was the judge. Apparently a local land owner wished to drive his carriage to Bristol without having to walk or negotiate the steep roads on the sides of the gorge, so he convinced the engineers, and paid for the necessary modifications to widen the design of the bridge. It is fortunate that he insisted on this widening because the bridge as it was originally designed would have never been able to cater to modern traffic demands. The bridge was finished in 1859 and opened to the public in 1864. Before the bridge was built the slip way was the only way to cross the river without taking a long detour. The slip way was crossed at high tide by rowing a boat across, and at low tide by crossing on series gangplanks that were tied together. Both crossings were fairly dangerous and extremely inconvenient and therefore a bridge was a very popular idea. The Clifton Suspension bridge is world famous and one of the essential things to see in the West Country. It is a beautiful piece of engineering that is lovely maintained by the bridge staff. Then, Mildred runs out of the door with a suitcase, and takes a taxi that was waiting for her at the curb. So, Montag suspects Mildred to be the one who sounded the alarm for the firemen to come. After that, Faber asks Montag about what is happening at the moment, through the earpiece that he gave to Montag before. Montag tells him, "This is happening to me"(Bradbury 115). I would think a Saturday like this one, would be the ideal day to remain home, far from the anomalously large crowds gathering downtown for the 150th Canada Day celebration, however, I knew going was inevitable. Regardless of whether it was willingly or not, I was going. My grandmother's sister's husband's brother's daughter's daughter (who I will refer to as my 'aunt' (though she is more like a distant cousin)), her husband (my 'uncle'), and her 2 daughters (my 'cousins') had come all the way from a suburb in the United States for this day and consequently, my mother would not allow me to remain home. The And Benefits Of Human Sin Kamila Hilal Social Foundations I Professor Rosof September 14th, 2014 Two Sides To Every Coin: Weighing the Consequences and Benefits of Human Sin The Tower of Babel, the Fruit of the tree of Knowledge, and the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden all share in common the stern consequences of human actions in the face of God. The significance of these biblical events are often associated with negative views of the punishments that were placed. The Tower of Babel is associated with God's punishment of "scattering" humans across the earth thus separating a once unified people. The expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden for eating the Fruit of the tree of Knowledge is discerned as a negative outcome for man's wickedness. Although there is significance in the punishments God places on humans in these chapters of Genesis, positive effects do emerge from these events as well. Among the repercussions of human's sin emerge free will, the power of choice, and the ability for human beings to develop and evolve. The building of the Tower of Babel and the consequences humankind suffered from doing so portrays the relationship between human beings and God. (Genesis 11:4), mankind believed that they could reach the realm of God himself, physically but more importantly, symbolically. By building ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compared to the trebuchet, the designs of other siege weapons were lacking in many respects. The most important of these other siege engines included the Greek ballista, the catapult, and variations on the catapult design, such as the Roman onager and mangonel. The ballista's design was very similar to an extremely large crossbow with a guide chute to keep the projectile on path. A large ballista could launch an eight pound stone over 450 yards. It took two men to operate a ballista (Hamper). A standard catapult used the inconsistent strength and weight of men as a source of power. Groups of men had to work to pull down the catapult bar in order to launch the objects. Such catapults could typically throw as much as a fifty pound rock. An onager was type of a catapult with a short arm that would be launched forward by many twisted sinews. Both the onager and the ballista were limited in accuracy and range, because the tightly twisted sinews and ropes continually wore out and needed to be replaced. Likewise, the standard catapult lacked accuracy because of the inconsistent strength and weight of the men who fired it. While all of these siege machines were useful, none of them had the range, or were as powerful, accurate, and widely used as the trebuchet (Gurstelle 18–22). The trebuchet was by far the most powerful, accurate, and reliable of all siege weapons ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Technology And Environment : Technology Technology and Environment Technology has become so helpful to our lives in so many ways. Technology is convenient and efficient. It aids us to live life more conveniently by allowing us to do more in less effort. It, then, becomes rather difficult to undermine the importance in which technology plays within our lives. Many people have benefited from the invention of technology and would most often find it complicated to do without. Year after year, technologies become reinvented through new ideas and the betterment of equipment and tools. Thus, if an old technology does not suffice, a new one will easily come in favour shortly after. Because of the rather innovative current forms of technology, new and advanced technologies are forming at an impeccable pace. The expressions, "I would die without Internet" or "I could not ever live without my cell phone" imply that life would be hard to live from the lack of such technologies. However, such expressions become rather ironic because life is already in harm's way due to technology itself. The relationship between technology within society and environmental grounds are problematic. Technology serves as an efficient function to our lives yet can become detrimental to our health which is demonstrated through Ronald Wright's theory of the progress trap and theories of environmental degradation (Cameron, par. 5). However, the repair and reversal of a damaged environment depends largely on technology through means for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Fate Of America Essay The Fate of America According to the text, "The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don 't have to waste your time voting", (Bukowski 1). The decisions made in this election will affect the future of America. According to Oxford Dictionaries the president is "an elected head of state in a democratic setting", (Oxford dictionaries 2). A good president is someone who is: experienced in political matters, intelligent, a good leader, has quality communication skills, a good decision maker, and confident in their ideals. This election will go down in the history books no matter what the result is and will be looked back on and analyzed by future generations. The opportunity is there to elect the first female president of the Unites States, Hilary Clinton. Women have gone from fighting for the right to vote, now one is on the ballot with the opportunity to be the commander and chief. We are on the brink of the third election where a Caucasian male will not be the president. Or, the other side of this coin is the Republican Nominee Donald Trump. A place where they were not able to get the jobs that they wanted and were often not credited for their actions. Most times if a woman were to try to get a job or even participate in an activity, they would hide their true identities and pretend to be men. This is what women in California had to do in the 1800's to early 1900's. Many women came to California to work as prostitutes or entertainers during the 1850's (Women). However, there were still many women in San Francisco who were very influential and leave an everlasting impression on the city. Women such as Lillie Hitchcock Coit, Isadora Duncan, and Mary Ellen Pleasant were all very important people living in San Francisco during the 1800's to 1900's, and were able to make a difference in their community. Being the first woman to participate in a fire rescue and late be made the mascot for firemen was Lillie Hitchcock Coit. What made her famous amongst the people of San Francisco was from the first time that she participated in a fire rescue with the Knickerbocker Engine Company No.5 (Museum). It was not common for women to work, especially in a job that required strength and "manpower". She moved to California from West Point in 1851 with her parents. Whether it was a royal residence or prison and torture chamber, most importantly, it has been a significant symbol and monument of English history and architecture. A small, modest building, many tourists are surprised to see the Tower of London, as it is not the magnificent, tall tower they were expecting. For some years, the Tower of London was used as a royal residence where monarchs would stay for a night before departing to continue their journey the next day. More interestingly, it was used as a prison, torture chamber, and execution grounds. Although, from the outside, the Tower of London is not very lavish when compared with the majestic, grand, and intricate buildings in England, it was once a desired place for royals to stay – whether for one night or longer. During the time it was used as a royal residence, it was referred to as The White Tower, and was quite an alluring place. The Tower of London (or The White Tower) consisted of several buildings surrounded by a wall and mote. Later on after the construction was completed, Richard the Lionheart, Edward I, and Henry VIII enlarged the complex. Colorful, pretty, and comfortable, the Tower of London during its time as a royal residence contained more than just stone buildings – it was a center of life. • 32. The Wise Sea Poem Analysis The Wise Men Speak (An Analysis on Sailing) William Butler Yeats, was a poet from the Victorian age. Philosophers say that Yeats was one of the greatest poets of all time, "William Butler Yeats is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets of the 20th century"(Adams). One of Yeats most famous poem was Sailing to Byzantium. In the poem Sailing, Yeats expresses three very important messages. The messages that Yeats expresses in Sailing are, that the soul wants to leave body when it's about time to go, the elders are more wise, and that younger generation doesn't listen to their elders. In the poem Sailing, Yeats expresses that as our body ages our souls are ready to be set free. Our souls never age, but our bodies do. As our bodies start to age our souls are ready to be set free from our aging bodies. Yeats states that when our souls are close to being set free they start to sing, "Soul clap its hands and sing, louder sing"(11). The soul is celebrating that it's about to be set free from its aging body. Our bodies are dead, but our souls continue to live on. Dr. Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill, Massachusetts states, "Human beings are possessed of souls which depart their bodies after death and that these souls have detectable physical presences were around well before the 20th century". Our souls continue to live after we are no longer living. Another message represented in the poem Sailing, is that our elders are wise. Our elders are wiser than the young because ... Comparing Foucault And Panopticism Panopticism Panopticism is a social theory named after the Panopticon, according to Foucault, his describes a watch tower in a prison and he thinks Panopticism is how people act different when they're being watched. Rayner perspective on Panopticism is how we can use social media to our advantage. In this essay, I will analyze both Foucault and Rayner perspective on Panopticism and will determine the rhetorical appeals of both writings. This is an example of ethos because "Generally speaking, it might be said that discipline are techniques for assuring the ordering of human multiplicities. It is true that there is nothing exceptional or even characteristics in this: every system or power or presented with the same problem" ( Foucault, 2012, p. 207). Foucault was a French historian and philosopher. He had a strong influence in philosophy, but also in a wide range of humanistic and social scientific disciplines. Foucault was the philosopher who created the term, "Panopticism". This is an example of Logos because, "In this task of adjustment, discipline had to solve a number of problems for which the old economy of power was not sufficiently equipped. It could reduce the inefficiency of mass phenomena: reduce what, in a multiplicity, make it much less manageable than unity...." (Foucault, 2012, p. 208). He talks about the watch tower in a prison and they noticed when people are being watched from the watchtower, people change their behavior. This is an example of of ... Roland Truly a Hero in The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three Throughout history on science fiction and fantasy novels, the hero has always been portrayed as someone who is more than just your regular human. Some students experience worse bullying than others and suffer more greatly from it. According to US studies, "One out of every four students (22%) report being bullied during the school year. (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015) 64 percent of children who were bullied did not report it; only 36 percent reported the bullying." (Pacer's, 2016) Most children do not report it, leading to their self–esteem dropping to an all–time low. Whether the child turns to God or has a friend as their saving grace, it is important that they get through those troubles. My Experience The time in my life when I was bullied was a very rough patch and unfortunately a time that I have no memory of. My brain has seemed to block out these events from my mind as I have no recollection of the third grade. I was bullied at a very young age due to my shyness. The second reason I was bullied was due to the fact I was one of the youngest students in the class and also extremely tiny for my age.
