2. How there new?How there new?
Media technologies are something new and have only existed recently in current
media, and have all been incredibly useful in each stage of my work.
The rise of media technology that really took off in the early 21st century has been
incredibly useful and given me the opportunity to work with websites that may not
have existed a few years ago like UK tribes, whereas there are already existing
websites like Youtube that were created well over 10 years ago, and have only
continued to improve.

3. BloggerBlogger
Blogger was the online blog tool I have chosen to use to
present all of the information I have collected. Blogger is
incredibly useful in allowing me to split up my work into
sections like, planning, research and evaluation, making
my work more accessible and easier to read and use. I
wanted to use blogger because I felt it contained my work
really well and made it easy to read the information. This
tool was incredibly useful as I could include all of my
presentation tools, like prezi and powtoon, I did this
using the embedding tool and adding the information onto
the HTML. With my blog I was also able to include
photos and add text that gave my blog fluency and made
it easy to use for my target audience.

4. YoutubeYoutube
Youtube is one of the key platforms I relied on at the initial
research stages of my production. I used these as a way of
looking at existing media texts, and moving frame by frame
through videos which would allow me to understand the
kind of editing techniques, camerawork or mise­en­scene
that I could include. Youtube was an incredibly useful
platform because it allowed me to access all of these videos
for free and meant that I could look at a fair few videos,
rather than just one. I could also type in band names and
songs that my target audience told me about, which
enabled me to look very specifically about the individual
likes of the subcultures I wanted to work with.

5. FacebookFacebook
Facebook was one of the most useful websites I could have used to
talk to people and form an understanding of the likes and interests
that the audience I wanted to present my work to. I spoke to a
group of people that I felt included everyone who were part of the
subculture I wanted to work with. This was the first time that I
had considered Facebook as a tool for researching into the
different groups of people I could work with and could offer me
information about the work I was creating. When I was working
through my project this was something I was keen to continue
working with people over Facebook chats that gave me an easier
access to this group. This meant that any work that I created was
sent to the target audience group over a Facebook chat and they
could look at the positives and negatives and give me advice on
what to do.

6. UK TribesUK Tribes
UK Tribes is a website that I found
and used to learn new information
about existing subcultures in young
people. This website is something that
I have never used before this year, but
it was incredibly useful for me to work
with because it revealed information
that had been collected from different
groups of teenagers. This provided me
with useful information that I found
important to collecting existing
research for my target audience work.
I looked at all of this existing work
and was able to include it in my own
words alongside some information that
I had collected myself. I was able to
use these descriptions on my website to
influence my target audience
photoshoot.

7. PowtoonPowtoonPowtoon is a product that I found early on in the year
and has been one of the most interesting tools that I have
worked with, thats incredibly useful for engaging the
target audience. This is an interesting tool because it
makes a video that I can upload to Youtube, and can be
watched to explain the point I wanted to put across.
There are two powtoons seen on my blog, one of which can
be seen on the planning stage of my blog. This was to
present the character list that I used in my production and
brought together music, animation, different fonts and
titles. I like the information being presented in this
format, because it shows ICT skills different that just
writing in blocks of text.

8. PreziPrezi
Prezi was a tool that I used regularly over the year, and
has influenced my work at planning research and
evaluation stages. I loved the way that prezi presents
information, as despite following a similar path as
powerpoint, it becomes a little more interesting by the
movement of the screen to show the information. One
point where I chose this was the ‘changes’ prezi on my
planning page and the presentation I created about the
‘conventions’ on my evaluation page. These were both
important for presenting large amounts of text, but split
up the text which made it better to read and highlighted
the key points of what I wanted to convey.

9. EmazeEmaze
Emaze describes itself as a next generation online presentation tool, which creates
professional looking work which I used at the planning stage of my production. I like this
tool because it makes my presentation look so much better than anything that I could create
on a powerpoint. Again it breaks down the need for blocks of text and shows the ICT tools I
have developed over the last year. The emaze I created on my planning page shows the
development of costume design. I decided that it would be more useful to use this tool, as it
made the information stand out to the
reader.

10. Final Cut Pro XFinal Cut Pro X
Final Cut Pro X is the editing system I used in the
construction of my piece, and was one of the most
important elements of my music video. This is how I
created the pace a cut together each individual shot, as
well as including the Plesentville effect at a later date.
This was something that took a long time but I chose to
use it because I think it added an extra element to my
production and really displayed my editing skills. I
decided to use this programme rather than any other
because I felt that my knowledge had built from using
iMovie, and it gave me a good platform to use in my
production.

11. Nikon DSLRNikon DSLR
The Nikon DSLR is the camera used
throughout my production and was the first
time I had access to a DSLR camera like this.
I liked using this because it was an incredibly
good camera that had a good quality lense.
This allowed me to use some more tricks than
with a camera I had used before, including
depth of field, which brings the camera in and
out of focus at the beginning of the piece. This
is a skill that showed what I had learnt about
media and camerawork.

12. Evaluation tools…Evaluation tools…
There are several stages of my evaluation where I used technologies to collect, present and
publish my information, including:
• I used blogger as the platform to show my information to the audience making it easily
accessible to everyone with a computer but also ensuring that they could look back and
review other areas of my blog like planning and research.
• I used presentation tools like prezi, powtoon and slideshare to present the information
which removed the issue of big blocks of text that don't appeal to an audience, and gave
the evaluation itself a good flow.
• I used the Nikon DSLR and Final Cut Pro X as a tool for presenting some of my
information, however decided when it came to publishing that it would look more
professional using a presentation tool.
• I also relied heavily on technologies like the internet to research theorists like Andrew
Goodwin, who influence my project.
