2. Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
3. The Internet
The internet played a huge part in my research and also in
gaining feedback from my focus group. I used google to search
most of the magazine covers, contents pages and double page
spreads. As well as codes and conventions of existing media. I
used existing media to gain inspiration for my magazine and to
help construct my final production. I also used YouTube to help
with tutorials on how to use things like certain camera techniques,
blogger tutorials and also Photoshop tutorials. I also used the
internet to find work from other students across the UK to gain an
insight on how they approach the same task.
4. Adobe Photoshop
CS3
I used this program all throughout the production of my final piece and
really couldn’t have done without it. At the beginning I barely knew how
to use the software. But after watching various different tutorials I soon
figured my way around the software. I was able to constantly adjust my
images and text. I also used Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to also edit
my photos. This included changing the saturation, clarity and highlights
of my images. I used the same editing technique for all of my images
which can be found on my blog.
5. Microsoft
PowerPoint
I first used PowerPoint when conducting my codes and
conventions research in the early stages of my research. Since
then I have only used it to present my full media evaluation. I’ve
been using PowerPoint for years and know the ins and outs of
the program making it fairly easy for me to peace together a
smooth, stylish presentation.
6. Conclusion
In conclusion, the frequent use of modern technologies played a
huge part in the production of my magazine. I feel like it helped
me to fulfill my full potential and make my magazine exactly what
I wanted to be. I used it to teach myself new skills and gain more
knowledge about programs I didn’t know much about which really
helped me to progress. I feel like technology helped me to make
my work more professional as well as better quality. The vast
majority of the research I conducted would not have been
possible without these technologies, helping me to show evidence
of my research and development documentation. I also learned
things that I didn’t even use, but now have a knowledgeable
insight on how to do them in the future.
