“Oh GOSH! Reflecting on Hackteria's Collaborative Practices in a Global Do-It...
Change
1.
2. Since filming the internet scenes of our production
we, as a group, have decided we want to deviate
from the initial ideas and the storyboard. We decided
this because we felt our initial filming didn’t look as
effective as we’d hoped and the overall plan we had
ended up becoming very long winded and some
people may have found it boring. Instead we have
decided to change everything about the scene to
hopefully make it more enjoyable for the audience.
The things we have chosen to change about our
production are:
3. PLOT - whereas in our first filming of the production we chose to have viruses pop up over
and over again (which when re-watching we found quite long winded) instead we have
decided to create an online internet support group. We felt this would work better
because we could still include all of the actors we have previously stated, but all of them
would be in the scene from the very first shot. We felt that these actors could all play
online gaming addicts and although most of them won’t speak throughout we hope to
display the individual personalities and addictions through their costumes and un-spoken
actions.
4. LIGHTING – we felt that the lighting in our
original filming was to stark and they often left
unwanted shadows over the characters faces
which we felt could have had unwanted
connotations of our characters. To avoid this
happening again we want to test different
lightings to try and create an ambient lighting
style which has a focus on Jack and Jamie.
SCRIPT – we have also done a total re-write of
the script as we felt that the first film didn’t
display the attraction between Jimmy and the
girls character as much as we wanted it too.
We found this was because there wasn’t
enough space for the two characters to speak
between the pop ups. Therefore by removing
the pop-ups from the production we were able
to allow the two characters to establish a
relationship within the piece. We also
introduced a new character who will play the
leader of the support group and will hopefully
act as a block that infuriates Jimmy as he can’t
speak with the girl.
5. SETTING – we want to use a more naturalistic
setting for this attempt at the production
because we felt it would help to create the
atmosphere of a support group. We felt the
contrast between a naturalistic setting and
non-naturalistic people would help the
audience to understand that it was a setting
that wouldn’t be seen in the real world. We
would create and put up posters in the set that
would help the audience to understand that
the setting they were looking at wasn’t one of
realism.
