Patryk used various media technologies throughout the conception, research, planning, and evaluation of his project. He used Google, Prezi, YouTube, and Blogger to research and organize information about parody advertisements. Blogger allowed him to store research, plans, forms, and other documents. SurveyMonkey was used to create questionnaires to collect feedback from the target audience. The hardware and software were similar to what he used previously, but his skills with the technologies had improved over time and practice.
2. How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
3. • Throughout the whole process of the task from the
conception of the idea to the research and planning into
how the final project was going to look, a range of media
technologies was used to complete the main task. The
hardware and software that I used in this task were similar
to those that I used in my Foundation Portfolio the year
before but through practice and experience from the
previous times I used the technologies my skill at them
improved.
4. Research and planning
To come up with the idea behind the advert for the main task in the first place I
researched into the different genres of advertisements. From that I decided to
research into comedic/parody adverts as they seemed effective in their goal of
appealing to a audience group and selling them the product. Further into my
research I found brands such as JustEat and HungryHouse and decided to
base my task around a similar product to them.
For my research for my concept idea I
simply used Google and then stored my
information and ideas on Prezi. This
software allowed me to make mind
maps to easily organize and review the
research.
I also used YouTube as one of the
base platforms to do my research
from. As the research I was doing into
inspirational products were of adverts,
I had to use YouTube to find and
review videos from JustEat and
HungryHouse to find out aspects
about them that I could incorporate
into my piece to make it seem
professional and effective in its
purpose.
5. Research and planning: Oraginsing
information
During the process of planning and researching for the main task, there is a lot of data
and presentations that have to be maintained to be used in the development of the task.
For this purpose I used Blogger. Blogger is a website that allows its user to set up a
‘blog’ in which they produce normal ‘blogs’, however, in this case the site was used for
the storing of all my research and planning for the main task. The site also allows for
labels to be placed on each of your posts and this allows for easy maneuvering around
your posts and organising them into similar groups, such as “Maintask ideas”.
6. Research and planning
• For the planning process of the main task multiple software
programmes were utilised. The planning process consisted of aspects
such as planning for shoots and permission papers for actors. These
forms were all provided as templates and simply had to be filled in by
the director and or actor. After the forms would be filled out and
signed on a physical copy it would be scanned and uploaded onto
Blogger to be labeled and stored.
• For the actual production of the main task planning for the shoots
required research into how the scenes will look and who will be in
those scenes. The planning process also included casting for the
production which was supported by research into the demographics
of the target audience.
7. Research and planning: SurveyMonkey
To improve and further the main task project feedback from people in
my target audience is imperative. Questionnaires are easy to construct
and are a great way of collecting feedback from people who you are
targeting your product at. To create my questionnaires I used a website
called SurveyMonkey, a site that allows users to create surveys with a
multitude of customisation options such as creating drop down menus,
star rating questions and the availability of sharing the questionnaires
on social media and having all the feedback collected on the website
for easy feedback collection.
