What Are The Advantages Of Bluetooth
Best Bluetooth & Wireless Headphones Under 3000
Before Bluetooth, we had to depend on messy wires that tended to tangle at the drop of a hat. In
fact, you spent more time untangling wires than actually listening to music. Enter Bluetooth
headphones. As the name implies these are headphones that are powered and connected using
Bluetooth technology.
Bluetooth technology is a means of connecting devices wirelessly. This means you do not have to
worry about wire, this also has a secondary benefit of being able to connect devices over a longer
distance in comparison to wires. It is important to note this distance is not limitless. In fact with
regards to Bluetooth, this distance is 10 to 15 meters. This may seem like a disadvantage but it far
beats the distances you would get if you used wired ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that have used it before, know some of its benefits, here are some very important ones, so as
to aid you in your search for the best Bluetooth headphones under 3000. Autonomy:
Due to their wireless nature, it is logical that Bluetooth devices need to have an internal power
source. The benefit of this is you can charge your headphones and only have to worry about the
power usage of only the headphones.
Another important factor to consider is the fact these headphones do not have wires and as such
function physically autonomously of any devices that would previously have limited them because
of wires. Thus you can listen to music in the kitchen while your broadcast device is in the bedroom,
depending on the distance of cause.
Compatibility: Bluetooth technology is not only easy to set up but it is also highly compatible with
most devices. This means you can connect your speakers to your phone, computer, laptop, even
some TVs with little to no hassle. This is a major benefit as it will let you connect no matter if you
change the broadcast

A Brief Note On Bluetooth Low Energy ( Ble )
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Problem summary and Introduction
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is an emerging wireless technology developed by the Bluetooth
Special Interest Group (SIG) for short–range communication. In contrast with previous Bluetooth
flavours, BLE has been designed as a low–power solution for control and monitoring applications.
BLE is the distinctive feature of the Bluetooth 4.0 specification. According to the SIG, there would
be almost 3 fold increase in the installation and usage of BLE in the next three years with a
predicted growth of 287%. Thus in the coming future, BLE mode of Wireless Communication will
likely become a significant component in the field of Technology. The widespread use of Bluetooth
technology (e.g., in mobile phones, laptops, automobiles, etc.) has resulted in various project
development.
Exploring its potential application and using the improvement over its former technology to develop
a device that would serve as an Asset Detection chip is our main purpose.
Also, to reduce the dependency on a remote device and to enhance the use of "Smartphones", we
will sync the device with an android application.
1.2 Aim and objectives of the project
The purpose of this project is to exploit the use of BLE technology and integrate that for real time
applications. The project will require us to design, fabricate and implement an ATTACHABLE
device that would be controlled by BLE communication and android application. 1.3 Problem

NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION
ABSTRACT
Nowadays there is an abundant use of mobile phones and PDA's with Bluetooth capability and some
of the devices are even the NFC enabled devices. In order for NFC enabled devices, consumer
services and payment are rapidly adopted in the consumer market. NFC technology can help in
improving services at a higher efficiency.
1. INTRODUCTION
NFC is an extension of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). RFID combines the interface of a
smart card and a reader into a single device.
NFC is a short range wireless technology that provides secured two–way interaction between
electronic devices. Here, the communications are established in a simple way i.e. it does not require
any special set–up by the users which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NFC, due to its shorter range provides a higher security than Bluetooth. Thus it makes NFC suitable
for crowded areas where correlating a signal with its transmitting physical device might otherwise
prove impossible.
1.1 Evolution of NFC:
Sony and Philips have taken the lead and developed the technology. It follows from the proprietary
smart card protocols and can be seen as an initiative to move forward the contact–less ticketing and
payment applications which can be seen as the next stage in this market. The standard for this
technology was approved on 8th December, 2003. Later this standard was approved as an ECMA
standard. The next stage in the standardization process came when Nokia, Sony and Philips formed
the NFC forum on 18th march, 2004.The NFC forum developed quickly.
In June, 2006 NFC forum formally outlined the architecture for NFC technology. In August 2006,
the NFC Forum released the first four forum approved specifications.
1.3 Differences between NFC and RFID:
NFC is different from other wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WI–Fi, RFID etc.
Bluetooth: Although NFC and Bluetooth are used to transfer data but Bluetooth can enable users to
transfer the data over longer distances compared to NFC, which can only transfer data over shorter
distances.
Wi–Fi: Wi–Fi is designed for LAN, which is not a short range peer to peer technology.
RFID: RFID can be used in any frequency or standard that is being used but NFC

Bluetooth Goals Essay
4. Uses and Applications
4.1 Using Advantages
4.1.1 Goals
The Bluetooth goals are broadly categorized into three: promoting new usage models; overcoming
challenges, and drafting specification.
4.1.1.1 Creating New Usage Models
There are three goals under this. The first goal isto create a three–in–one phone, allowing
individuals to use the same mobile device wherever they are. It can function as an intercom in the
office, a portable phone at home, and mobile device outdoors (Shepherd, 2001). The second goal is
the briefcase stick where individuals can use their emails even when their notebooks are in the
briefcase. When the notebook gets an email, the user gets an alert trough his/her mobile phone. The
last goal is the automatic synchronizer. This deals with synchronizations that happen in the
background automatically to keep the user up to date. For instance, when a person enters the office,
his address book is automatically synchronized with the one in his office desktop. It also permits
collecting business cards on the phone and adding to the address book on a notebook computer
(Haartsen, Naghshineh, Inouye, Joeressen & Allen, 1998).
4.1.1.2 System Challenges Under this, there are eight goals. The first goal is support for data and
voice by the air protocol. Secondly, it has the ability to create ad hoc connections so that Bluetooth
devices can detect the available devices surrounding them and establish connections. The third goal
is the ability to withstand. Another

Bluetooth Technology- Past, Present, And Future
Bluetooth Technology– Past, Present, and Future
History
Bluetooth technology was the creation of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. This groups was
founded by five major corporations from different countries to develop communication system that
could be used world–wide. Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Intel, and Toshiba, founded the Bluetooth Special
Interest Group (SIG) in February of 1998. (Morrow, 2002) Microsoft, 3Com, Lucent, and Motorola
later joined the group in December 1999. Now the group of nine members is called SIG Promoters.
There are no plan as of now to add any other member to the group. (Morrow, 2002)
Bluetooth is named after the 10th century Viking king Harald Blatand, who conquered all of
Denmark and Norway and converted the Danes to Christianity. (Aardsma, 2001) The king was
known for his desire to snack on blueberries and his ability to unite the warring factions that is now
known as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. (Newstex, 2012) The idea that the blueberries caused his
teeth to turn blue is not confirmed. But his ability to unite different people groups inspired the SIG
to use the name "Bluetooth."
Development
Low cost communication technology that uses little power was the reason Bluetooth was developed.
Developers wanted to be able to connect devices from different manufactures and with different
purposes, such as computers from Apple and mice from Microsoft. At low cost and a secure
connection. (Newstex, 2012) The design was to remove cables so that virtually

How is Bluetooth is a Modern Application of Physics Essay
How is Bluetooth a modern technological application of physics?
Introduction
Bluetooth was invented in 1994 that replaces cable communications with wireless technology.
(Ericsson, 1994) Bluetooth creates a wireless personal area network (PAN) that allows exchange of
information among individuals and therefore is commonly used for short–range communication
among mobile phones, laptops, PDAs and other portable and fixed devices. (Layton & Franklin,
[date unknown]) Physics plays an important role in the functioning of Bluetooth in terms of waves.
Waves are important in Bluetooth as microwave is the wave transmitted by Bluetooth and the whole
functioning of Bluetooth is dependent on the microwave transmission.
Scientific Principles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Layton & Franklin, [date unknown])
2. Wavelength: Microwave is a short wavelength wave. The wavelength of the microwave
transmitted by Bluetooth is about 12.5cm. (Miller, A.B. 2001)
3. Frequency/Pitch: Bluetooth has a frequency in the 2.4 Gigahertz (2400 Hz) range. Bluetooth is
often mistaken as the same as Wi–fi because they are both wireless, but Bluetooth is different as it
runs on a lower frequency than Wi–fi. (Miller, A.B. 2001)
4. Amplitude/Loudness, Intensity: There are 3 classes of Bluetooth technology depending on their
power consumption and their range and this is shown in table 1. As seen in table 1, Class 1 is around
the same level as mobile phones and the other 2 classes are much lower, so therefore Class 2 and 3
are considered less hazardous than mobile phones. (Layton & Franklin, [date unknown])
5. Medium of transmission: Microwave is an electromagnetic wave so it does not require a medium
for propagation. But in the case of Bluetooth, microwave is transmitted through air. (Layton &
Franklin, [date unknown])
6. 1, 2 or 3 dimensions: Microwave is a 3 dimensional wave.
7. Wave speed: The wave speed of microwave is 3 x 108 m/s.

The Bluetooth Low Energy serves as a useful technology for this purpose.
What is BLE?
BLE –Bluetooth LE or Bluetooth Low Energy which is also marketed as Bluetooth Smart. It is a
wireless personal area network technology which is designed and marketed by the Bluetooth Special
Interest Group. It is actually aimed at novel applications like healthcare, fitness, beacons, security,
and home entertainment industries. Bluetooth Smart is intended to provide considerably reduced
power consumption and cost while maintaining a similar communication range when compared to
classic Bluetooth[1]. Because of its low cost and low power consumption it is widely used and also
many companies working towards it and also trying to manufacture small ble module. So, that as
technology rate increases day by day the size of this ble module is decreasing. Now a day's ble tags
also available in the market like rfid tags. So, that ble is the solution that we required which will be
low cost and low power consumption.

Abstract: At present there is no innovative solution to unlock car doors and to provide car Anti–theft
mechanism. We tried here to implement car door unlocking using Bluetooth technology and anti–
theft system using GSM technology. This paper strives to achieve an efficient and inexpensive
solution for scenarios like we may forget our car keys inside the car in which it was equipped with
central locking system. This central locking system after certain period of time (which is pre–
configured) the car doors will be automatically locked leaving keys inside the car. Whenever a car
has been theft we register a complaint against it, though we know we can't find the car immediately.
Our paper comprises of trending technologies such as android, blue tooth and GSM. We have
developed a personal android application using with which the system is controlled. We
implemented three level authentication mechanism in which only car owner can operate the system

Over the past few years we as a race have become overly dependent on technology, which has
compelled us to develop electronic devises that allow us to transfer and share data more rapidly and
securely. However, this task of connecting different technologies has not been painless as most
devices come with different operating systems, parts, connectors, and protocols that need to be
considered and taken care of before developing any new devices. As a result, it has been a challenge
to produce new technologies and protocols to allow these devices to connect easily. One such
solution is Bluetooth will allows devices to connect wirelessly over a short range. However, like any

Karygiannis and Owens in their book Wireless Network Security describe how "the Bluetooth
standard specifies wireless operation in the 2.45 GHz radio band" which is the special frequency at
which radio communication is possible. In addition, according to Wikipedia.org "this frequency has
been set aside for the use of industrial, scientific and medical devices by an international
agreement." When Bluetooth–capable devices come within range of one another, they create a
dynamic and automatic network where the devices are able to connect to each other without the user
needing to give commands or press buttons. According to Karygiannis and Owen's book, this type of
topology is known as "ad–hoc networking technology." Ad–hoc networks are also known as Pico
nets where each Bluetooth–enabled device is capable of connecting with a maximum of seven
devices to form a network in proximity.
Advantages of Bluetooth:
Bluetooth allows devices to connect wirelessly and automatically. In order to make this connection
between devices, however, the devices need not be connection through electrical wires, Ethernet
cables, or Infrared signals. Bluetooth technology provides an edge over Infra red technology as
"they [Bluetooth technology] do not have to be in line of sight of each other" (Wikipedia.org). As a
result, Bluetooth enabled devices can be separated by walls and out of sight of each other yet they
can maintain the network as far as

Where is Bluetooth in the Internet of Things? Essays
Where is Bluetooth in the Internet of Things?
Bluetooth is an old technology and has been around for more than a decade. And amidst all the
developments in mobile connectivity, wireless communications and the rapidly growing Machine–
to–machine communication technology, others wonder what has happened to this good old way of
connecting devices. Has it been totally replaced with another technology? Certainly, some other
similar or related inquiries may surface as the discussion on what happened and is happening with
this technology goes around the tech world and among those fond of Bluetooth. But the answer to
this question is NO. Bluetooth has not been totally eradicated. At least not yet.

This technology is also known as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or Bluetooth Smart.
As the Internet of Things becomes more and more widespread, and with the integration being made
possible with machine–to–machine communication, BLE or Bluetooth Smart is undeniably marking
its territory in the low powered connectivity market. It has some competition in the market such as
NFC and Wi–Fi Direct, however it does not have the range restriction that NFC has and BLE still
has much lesser power consumption than Wi–Fi Direct. In other words, Bluetooth still has a
considerably better future in the world of wirelessly connected things.
SIG remains optimistic about it and said, "Given the advent of Bluetooth Smart – its performance,
low cost, simplicity and ubiquity – it's become the preferred wireless technology for OEMs to
replace niche or proprietary technologies," Jawanda further added, "If you want to connect to a few
billion devices your customer probably already has in the palm of their hand, then Bluetooth and
BLE is the technology."
By far, Bluetooth Low Energy is the most rapidly adopted technology in the wireless
communications history. This leaves developers and programmer more room to explore on the
capabilities of this technology. SIG has also released a free developer kit that contains codes and
instructions that will help them in develop programs for bluetooth

In 1998, the Federal Trade Commission determined that very few companies were divulging their
usage of consumers' personal data (Labalme "Fair Information Practices"). In an effort to encourage

personal data collected; the company's affirmation of data accuracy and security; and the company's
intent to enforce the privacy policy (Labalme "Fair Information Practices"). As a result of the
industry's failure to adhere to the FIPP guidelines, the FTC urged Congress to create laws protecting
privacy rights of consumers. Siding with corporate capitalists in favor of industry self–regulation,
Congress declined to help. The FTC was ultimately left responsible for monitoring and prosecuting

The Bluetooth specification has 2 power levels; a lower power that covers the shorter personal area
within a room, and a higher power level that can cover a medium range, such as within a home. The
distance covered by Bluetooth is commonly 30ft, but it can also cover larger area up to 100 ft.
Bluetooth supports ad hoc voice and data transmission. The Bluetooth devices find each other and
spontaneously create a network called a piconet, which can link up to 8 devices, with one being the
primary and the rest secondaries. A secondary however can serve as a primary in another piconet, to
form a scatternet.
The Bluetooth baseband protocol is a combination of circuit and packet switching. Time slots can be
reserved for synchronous packets. A frequency hop is done for each packet that is transmitted. A
packet nominally covers a single time slot, but can be extended to cover up to five slots. [1]
Bluetooth can support;
an asynchronous data channel, or
up to 3 simultaneous synchronous voice channels, or
a channel which simultaneously supports asynchronous data and synchronous voice.
2. Scenario
The scenarios that Bluetooth makes possible are almost as numerous as the devices where Bluetooth
will reside. For example, the most common application of Bluetooth is wireless control of and

Security Vulnerabilities Of Data Transfer Via Bluetooth
Security vulnerabilities in data transfer via Bluetooth
Introduction:
Bluetooth is becoming more popular as it allows data transfer within a short range with minimal
battery consumption. The uses of bluetooth are ever increasing with introduction of wireless
products such as smartwatches, headphones and also because of data transfer between two hand–
held devices. With an increase in usage, there also is an increase in security threat.
Bluetooth, which has been vulnerable to security exploitations since its inception. The earliest form
of this was the Cabir worm, which is believed to have been the first wireless worm. It could transmit
itself to mobile phones using the Symbian platform when those devices were turned on and in
discoverable mode. While it wasn't very harmful – it sent a message with the caribe.ss file attached;
when downloaded the file displayed the word "Caribe" on the handset screen – it served as a wakeup
call to the industry.
Bluetooth threats have evolved since those days, and while they aren't extremely dangerous they can
still be quite serious.
Threats:
When two bluetooth devices try to authenticate each other by sharing PIN, they are exposed to
intervention. These weaknesses are a result of weak link key establishment protocol, which is
necessary while pairing of device. Also since encryption is not compulsory and is created after the
end of pairing process. It means that the various types of attacks can be performed well before
pairing is complete.

small network called a piconet. Ten of these piconets can coexist in the same coverage range of the
Bluetooth
radio. To provide security, each link is encoded and protected against eavesdropping and
interference.
Bluetooth provides support for three general application areas using short–range wireless
connectivity:
 Data and voice access points. Bluetooth facilitates real–time voice and data transmissions by
providing
effortless wireless connection of portable and stationary communications devices.
 Cable replacement. Bluetooth eliminates the need for numerous, often proprietary cable
attachments for
connection of practically any kind of communications device. Connections are instant and are
maintained
even when devices are not within line of sight. The range of each radio is approximately 10 m, but
can be
extended to 100 m with an optional amplifier.
 Ad hoc networking. A device equipped with a Bluetooth radio can establish instant connection to
another Bluetooth radio as soon as it comes into range.

Advantages Of Bluetooth Speaker
What is a Bluetooth speaker?
Generally, speakers require a cable which links them to an audio player or a source of audio. In most
of the cases it is stereo system connecting to an amplifier or an iPod connecting to speakers. The
difference between common speakers and Bluetooth speakers is that the latter does not require
wires. The technology behind Bluetooth wireless mobiles and their earpieces, along with Bluetooth
speaker systems in cars is the same technology used by Bluetooth speakers.
Main features of Bluetooth speakers
Some of the most important features of Bluetooth speakers are listed below:
Frequency response – Frequency response refers to the frequencies at which the speaker produces
sound within the human hearing range and how evenly this sound is distributed. Perfect speakers are

Another major advantage of Bluetooth speakers is portability. Individuals who often immerse
themselves in music enjoy carrying around speakers which can easily fit into small bags. This makes
it less power consuming speakers the best choice as they can be used for hours at a stretch.
Installation of these speakers around the home is easy as one need not worry about wiring while
placing these speakers in any locations. They can also be used as invisible speakers to suit the decor,
so that they deliver superior quality sound without being visible to the individuals listening to the
audio. One need not pay for wiring or adapters which makes it a reasonably priced deal.
The connectivity is pre–established which means that its connection to the other devices need not be
configured. This set of speakers can be used in all rooms and can be carried from one room to
another without bothering about wires and

Using Bluetooth Phones And Bluetooth Devices
Car wrecks happen often in Texas, and many of these are due to distractions such as screaming kids,
flashing of lights, or plain just freak distractions such as a deer darting across the road. Cell phone
usage however is a large cause of wrecks and is an unacceptable excuse for a wreck. The negligence
does not stop there. The usage of Bluetooth devices that pair and sync to your cars audio system also
contributes to driver inattention. According to the Daspit Law Firm, (http://www.daspitlaw.com)
more than eighty two thousand wrecks have been caused by inattention. The chances of a driver
wrecking is even greater when the he/she is texting. Texting while driving increases the likelihood
of wrecking four times over. Although many drivers claim they can multi–task, car wrecks are still
caused daily due to cell phone use and/or Bluetooth devices because it distracts drivers from the
road. Cell phones and Bluetooth devices should be muted or put out of sight to lessen temptation to
use them because using these objects can lead to serious injury, lawsuits, prison time, and even
death. The problem that the usage of cell phones and Bluetooth devices pose are extremely
dangerous. Using these devices distract the driver from the road, and can limit the drivers attention
to objects and signs in their surroundings. A driver that looks down for just a second to answer the
phone or answer a text at sixty miles per hour travels on average roughly 88 feet or a sixteenth of a
mile.

MODELING A BLUETOOTH INDOOR LOCATION SYSTEM BASED ON LOCATION
FINGERPRINTING
1. INTRODUCTION:
Position location systems are becoming increasingly important as add–ons to today's pervasive
wireless technology. Location – aware services are based on some form of positioning techniques.
Positioning systems enable context – aware computing with location awareness [1]. Information
such as location, group, object that are directly related to an application's operating environment are
often referred to as context of that application which can detect the control and modify its behaviour

can be of great significance for wireless applications.

Since the time delay to be measured in microcellular technologies is very small, technologies like
Bluetooth do not easily support this technique of positioning.
There are other variations to the time measurements like phase estimation through synchronized
phase detection, pulse transmission through different correlation technique and different spread
spectrum techniques [12].
Besides the navigational techniques we have seen above, the Bit Error Rate (BER) involved in the
actual transmission can be a good indicator of the distance between two devices. Like RSSI, BER is
directly proportional to the distance between the mobile device and the base station.
3. EXISTING INDOOR POSITIONING SYSTEM (IPS) TECHNOLOGIES:
Here, we categorize indoor position systems based on four technologies Infrared (IR): [13] is
commonly used in remote controls for television sets and other consumer electronics products. The
important characteristics of IR is that it can't penetrate walls or other opaque materials. Typically,
with an IR–based system, a receiver is placed in every location in which a tagged device might be
found. The tagged device emits IR light, and if the tagged device is in the same room as a receiver
its position is known.

situation. Therefore, here are some tips that should make your decision easier without having to lose
precious time about thinking what are the factors you need to consider.
A very important asset of your bluetooth helmet setup will be if it is waterproof or not.Bad
weather can be an inconvenience when it comes to your bluetooth setup. No biker want his dear
helmet to short circuit after a single use, especially if the helmet is on the biker at that
moment. Therefore, you might want to check if the helmet,or setup, you intend to buy has such a
feature.
Controls are the most important things you will want to check before buying such a helmet. You
need to know how easy you can use the device and if the respective customization fits your
needs. Some helmets have a quiet odd placement of the buttons so you might want to check that out
before buying the helmet.
When it comes to the materials, carbon, composite and fibreglass will be your top three.Although a
bit pricey, in the end it is all about your safety so don`t go cheap on yourself! The paint is really up to

Bluetooth And Wi Fi Networks
ABSTRACT
Bluetooth and Wi–Fi are two branches of the same tree. They only differ in the way they are used.
Bluetooth is used to transfer data between devices, which are placed near to each other, without the
use of cables. Terminology of Wi–Fi is quite the same but the range of distance between the devices
could be quite large. A typical Wi–Fi network that is being used in a household could have a range
of 200m but a Wi–Fi network that is being used by a business firm could transfer data in several
kilometers.
Bluetooth has a small area of influence (area in which a particular device or network has some
influence). Mostly Bluetooth is used to transfer data between personnel devices such as handsets,
tablets etc. Content that is basically transferred using Bluetooth is usually small, in Mbs, such as
music sounds, low quality, short videos and stuff like that.
Nowadays each and every computer device has Bluetooth enabled in it. From mobiles to tablets,
laptops to desktop computers every single one of them has Bluetooth facility with them. Bluetooth is
a necessity in today's electronic lifestyle. A company that manufactures computer devices would not
prosper in this field unless it gives extra features and when we talk about extra features Bluetooth is
the top priority.
On the other hand Wi–Fi is much more advance than Bluetooth. Wi–Fi has a lot bigger network as
compared to Bluetooth and with a bigger network it means that it is much more efficient and
suitable for large

A Comparison Of Bluetooth Vs. Wi-Direct
Bluetooth vs Wi–Fi–Direct
For this project, we have the possibility or choice to use either Bluetooth or Wi–Fi Direct to
facilitate the communication between the system and the app.
If you peek into the future, it is hard not to imagine an always–on community that features a large
number of connected devices that work together to make your life more convenient. We are now not
quite there yet – the main reason being the availability or lack of that and the power use of an
always–on connection between devices.
From the convenience of digital wallets, to the completely connected home; having a secure,
reliable, and sure way to transmit data is truly the last piece to the always–on puzzle.

Once a device is paired, the connection remains active only while in use, a feature that wasn 't
available in previous generations of Bluetooth technology due to difficulty in pairing and connecting
some Bluetooth–ready devices.
For example, if you want to share a photo between two phones via Bluetooth, the connection
becomes active while the move (from one place to another) begins. After completion, Bluetooth
goes back into "standby" mode, meaning it won 't use power when it 's not needed.
Another example that is being thrown around is in the mobile payments (or cash withdrawal) world.
A person (who uses a product or service) enables Bluetooth to move (from one place to another)
money between their digital wallet account and a guiding light–based payment processor (don 't
confuse it with NFC payments). While the two devices communicate, the phone experiences (almost
nothing/very little) electrical storage device loss. Once the move (from one place to another) is
complete, Bluetooth once again enters stand–by mode.
In addition to decreases in electrical storage device usage, Bluetooth 4.0 is fast. I mean, really fast.
By using the 802.11ac rules of conduct you can actually move (from one place to another)data at
speeds of up to 24Mbit/s. This feature is carried over from v3.0, but unlike version

Wireless Networks : Wireless Network
WIRELESS NETWORKS
Wireless networks have become a major part in the operation of businesses and in people's lives.
Wireless networks can provide fast speed internet connections without having to use wired
connections. Businesses are doing much better with wireless networks because they don't have to
pay the costs of installing wired networks and people can work easier because they do not have
wires running all over the place. Now with wireless networks in place, businesses are able to
connect to their other branches and buildings within their area as well.

Wireless LANs are commonly used on college campuses and most laptops come equipped with
wireless LAN capabilities. They do not have any defined boundaries, which makes it hard for the
user to control the network traffic. Wireless LANs make it possible for people to use the internet
anywhere there is free and non–secured Wi–Fi. The ability to connect wirelessly is based on the
location of the access point. If a person is close to an access point, they can get a strong signal. If
they far, they can get a weak signal or no signal. Wireless LANs can be unreliable as well because of
weather, and the environment. There are many ways to implement Wireless LANs. They are
infrastructure BSS, independent BSS, ESS, and distribution system. The most common way is the
BSS. Wireless LANs have base stations that are connected to a wired infrastructure called access
points. The stations have to communication through the access point. They cannot communicate
directly. Independent BSS is more popular in military applications. Computenetworking.about.com
says, "The key hardware components of a wireless computer network include adapters, routers and
access points, antennas and repeaters."
Wireless LANs have to have wireless network adapters for every device that wants to connect to the
internet. The access points and routers use Wi–Fi antennas so that the communication range can
increase. A lot of businesses have been victims of data breaches

Abstract
Bluetooth is a wireless technology used for short range UHF radio wave transmission. It was
invented by Telecom giant Ericsson way back in 1994. It officially got its name Bluetooth in 1998
when Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) comprising of Intel, Toshiba, Ericsson, IBM, and
Nokia was formed. Bluetooth SIG has more than 24,000 members at present. Almost every mobile
device and most of the computers are equipped with Bluetooth today. It signifies the success
Bluetooth has received over the years. It was basically invented to serve as wireless replacement of
RS232. Since then it was been incorporated for a myriad of applications like data transmission,
voice transmission, wirelessly connecting devices, and numerous others applications. One of the
aspect because of which Bluetooth technology stands out in the market is its ability to handle data
and voice transmission at the same time. The focus of this paper is its data transmission application,
how it works, its limitations, and scope for technological advancements to negate its limitations.

Bluetooth 's Speed And Coverage Range
Created in 1994, Bluetooth technology was apprehended as a wireless alternate to data cables by
exchanging data using radio broadcasts. The name Bluetooth originated from a tenth century Danish
King, Harald Blatand or, in English, Harold Bluetooth (Bluetooth, 2016). Bluetooth establishes
smaller, continuously connected, networks. Bluetooth 's speed and coverage range is much smaller
than Wi–Fi 's, however the trade–off permits Bluetooth to function at much lower energy
expenditures and link to different devices in the course of a day that is impeccable for vastly mobile
devices with inadequate batteries, such as cellular phones (Gardner, 2003). Bluetooth devices
consume radio waves instead of wires or cables to connect to a phone or computer. A Bluetooth
artifact, like an earpiece or watch, contains a small computer chip with a Bluetooth receiver and
software that enables it to easily connect. When two Bluetooth devices need to communicate with
each other, they need to pair. Communication between Bluetooth devices occurs over short–range,
ad hoc networks identified as piconets. A piconet is a system of devices linked using Bluetooth
technology. The system arrays from two to eight paired devices. When a network is recognized, one
device precedes the role of the dominant while all the other devices act as subservient. Piconets are
established vigorously and repeatedly as Bluetooth devices enter and leave radio vicinity (Bluetooth,
2016).

What Are The Advantages Of Bluetooth

  • 1. What Are The Advantages Of Bluetooth Best Bluetooth & Wireless Headphones Under 3000 Before Bluetooth, we had to depend on messy wires that tended to tangle at the drop of a hat. In fact, you spent more time untangling wires than actually listening to music. Enter Bluetooth headphones. As the name implies these are headphones that are powered and connected using Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology is a means of connecting devices wirelessly. This means you do not have to worry about wire, this also has a secondary benefit of being able to connect devices over a longer distance in comparison to wires. It is important to note this distance is not limitless. In fact with regards to Bluetooth, this distance is 10 to 15 meters. This may seem like a disadvantage but it far beats the distances you would get if you used wired ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those that have used it before, know some of its benefits, here are some very important ones, so as to aid you in your search for the best Bluetooth headphones under 3000. Autonomy: Due to their wireless nature, it is logical that Bluetooth devices need to have an internal power source. The benefit of this is you can charge your headphones and only have to worry about the power usage of only the headphones. Another important factor to consider is the fact these headphones do not have wires and as such function physically autonomously of any devices that would previously have limited them because of wires. Thus you can listen to music in the kitchen while your broadcast device is in the bedroom, depending on the distance of cause. Compatibility: Bluetooth technology is not only easy to set up but it is also highly compatible with most devices. This means you can connect your speakers to your phone, computer, laptop, even some TVs with little to no hassle. This is a major benefit as it will let you connect no matter if you change the broadcast ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. A Brief Note On Bluetooth Low Energy ( Ble ) CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Problem summary and Introduction Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is an emerging wireless technology developed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) for short–range communication. In contrast with previous Bluetooth flavours, BLE has been designed as a low–power solution for control and monitoring applications. BLE is the distinctive feature of the Bluetooth 4.0 specification. According to the SIG, there would be almost 3 fold increase in the installation and usage of BLE in the next three years with a predicted growth of 287%. Thus in the coming future, BLE mode of Wireless Communication will likely become a significant component in the field of Technology. The widespread use of Bluetooth technology (e.g., in mobile phones, laptops, automobiles, etc.) has resulted in various project development. Exploring its potential application and using the improvement over its former technology to develop a device that would serve as an Asset Detection chip is our main purpose. Also, to reduce the dependency on a remote device and to enhance the use of "Smartphones", we will sync the device with an android application. 1.2 Aim and objectives of the project The purpose of this project is to exploit the use of BLE technology and integrate that for real time applications. The project will require us to design, fabricate and implement an ATTACHABLE device that would be controlled by BLE communication and android application. 1.3 Problem ... • 5. Mobile Phones And Pda 's With Bluetooth Capabilities NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION ABSTRACT Nowadays there is an abundant use of mobile phones and PDA's with Bluetooth capability and some of the devices are even the NFC enabled devices. In order for NFC enabled devices, consumer services and payment are rapidly adopted in the consumer market. NFC technology can help in improving services at a higher efficiency. 1. INTRODUCTION NFC is an extension of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). RFID combines the interface of a smart card and a reader into a single device. NFC is a short range wireless technology that provides secured two–way interaction between electronic devices. Here, the communications are established in a simple way i.e. it does not require any special set–up by the users which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NFC, due to its shorter range provides a higher security than Bluetooth. Thus it makes NFC suitable for crowded areas where correlating a signal with its transmitting physical device might otherwise prove impossible. 1.1 Evolution of NFC: Sony and Philips have taken the lead and developed the technology. It follows from the proprietary smart card protocols and can be seen as an initiative to move forward the contact–less ticketing and payment applications which can be seen as the next stage in this market. The standard for this technology was approved on 8th December, 2003. Later this standard was approved as an ECMA standard. The next stage in the standardization process came when Nokia, Sony and Philips formed the NFC forum on 18th march, 2004.The NFC forum developed quickly. In June, 2006 NFC forum formally outlined the architecture for NFC technology. In August 2006, the NFC Forum released the first four forum approved specifications. 1.3 Differences between NFC and RFID: NFC is different from other wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WI–Fi, RFID etc. Bluetooth: Although NFC and Bluetooth are used to transfer data but Bluetooth can enable users to transfer the data over longer distances compared to NFC, which can only transfer data over shorter distances. Wi–Fi: Wi–Fi is designed for LAN, which is not a short range peer to peer technology. RFID: RFID can be used in any frequency or standard that is being used but NFC ... • 7. Bluetooth Goals Essay 4. Uses and Applications 4.1 Using Advantages 4.1.1 Goals The Bluetooth goals are broadly categorized into three: promoting new usage models; overcoming challenges, and drafting specification. 4.1.1.1 Creating New Usage Models There are three goals under this. The first goal isto create a three–in–one phone, allowing individuals to use the same mobile device wherever they are. It can function as an intercom in the office, a portable phone at home, and mobile device outdoors (Shepherd, 2001). The second goal is the briefcase stick where individuals can use their emails even when their notebooks are in the briefcase. When the notebook gets an email, the user gets an alert trough his/her mobile phone. The last goal is the automatic synchronizer. This deals with synchronizations that happen in the background automatically to keep the user up to date. For instance, when a person enters the office, his address book is automatically synchronized with the one in his office desktop. It also permits collecting business cards on the phone and adding to the address book on a notebook computer (Haartsen, Naghshineh, Inouye, Joeressen & Allen, 1998). 4.1.1.2 System Challenges Under this, there are eight goals. The first goal is support for data and voice by the air protocol. Secondly, it has the ability to create ad hoc connections so that Bluetooth devices can detect the available devices surrounding them and establish connections. The third goal is the ability to withstand. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Bluetooth Technology- Past, Present, And Future Bluetooth Technology– Past, Present, and Future History Bluetooth technology was the creation of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. This groups was founded by five major corporations from different countries to develop communication system that could be used world–wide. Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Intel, and Toshiba, founded the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) in February of 1998. (Morrow, 2002) Microsoft, 3Com, Lucent, and Motorola later joined the group in December 1999. Now the group of nine members is called SIG Promoters. There are no plan as of now to add any other member to the group. (Morrow, 2002) Bluetooth is named after the 10th century Viking king Harald Blatand, who conquered all of Denmark and Norway and converted the Danes to Christianity. (Aardsma, 2001) The king was known for his desire to snack on blueberries and his ability to unite the warring factions that is now known as Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. (Newstex, 2012) The idea that the blueberries caused his teeth to turn blue is not confirmed. But his ability to unite different people groups inspired the SIG to use the name "Bluetooth." Development Low cost communication technology that uses little power was the reason Bluetooth was developed. Developers wanted to be able to connect devices from different manufactures and with different purposes, such as computers from Apple and mice from Microsoft. At low cost and a secure connection. (Newstex, 2012) The design was to remove cables so that virtually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. How is Bluetooth is a Modern Application of Physics Essay How is Bluetooth a modern technological application of physics? Introduction Bluetooth was invented in 1994 that replaces cable communications with wireless technology. (Ericsson, 1994) Bluetooth creates a wireless personal area network (PAN) that allows exchange of information among individuals and therefore is commonly used for short–range communication among mobile phones, laptops, PDAs and other portable and fixed devices. (Layton & Franklin, [date unknown]) Physics plays an important role in the functioning of Bluetooth in terms of waves. Waves are important in Bluetooth as microwave is the wave transmitted by Bluetooth and the whole functioning of Bluetooth is dependent on the microwave transmission. Scientific Principles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Layton & Franklin, [date unknown]) 2. Wavelength: Microwave is a short wavelength wave. The wavelength of the microwave transmitted by Bluetooth is about 12.5cm. (Miller, A.B. 2001) 3. Frequency/Pitch: Bluetooth has a frequency in the 2.4 Gigahertz (2400 Hz) range. Bluetooth is often mistaken as the same as Wi–fi because they are both wireless, but Bluetooth is different as it runs on a lower frequency than Wi–fi. (Miller, A.B. 2001) 4. Amplitude/Loudness, Intensity: There are 3 classes of Bluetooth technology depending on their power consumption and their range and this is shown in table 1. As seen in table 1, Class 1 is around the same level as mobile phones and the other 2 classes are much lower, so therefore Class 2 and 3 are considered less hazardous than mobile phones. (Layton & Franklin, [date unknown]) 5. Medium of transmission: Microwave is an electromagnetic wave so it does not require a medium for propagation. But in the case of Bluetooth, microwave is transmitted through air. (Layton & Franklin, [date unknown]) 6. 1, 2 or 3 dimensions: Microwave is a 3 dimensional wave. 7. Wave speed: The wave speed of microwave is 3 x 108 m/s. Technological Applications Name of Application Bluetooth Important features of application & function Bluetooth is a convenient way of communication in the modern society as it has many benefits for both individuals and companies.

Essay on Bluetooth Over the past few years we as a race have become overly dependent on technology, which has compelled us to develop electronic devises that allow us to transfer and share data more rapidly and securely. However, this task of connecting different technologies has not been painless as most devices come with different operating systems, parts, connectors, and protocols that need to be considered and taken care of before developing any new devices. As a result, it has been a challenge to produce new technologies and protocols to allow these devices to connect easily. One such solution is Bluetooth will allows devices to connect wirelessly over a short range. However, like any other wireless networking, Bluetooth is also prone to various types ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Karygiannis and Owens in their book Wireless Network Security describe how "the Bluetooth standard specifies wireless operation in the 2.45 GHz radio band" which is the special frequency at which radio communication is possible. In addition, according to Wikipedia.org "this frequency has been set aside for the use of industrial, scientific and medical devices by an international agreement." When Bluetooth–capable devices come within range of one another, they create a dynamic and automatic network where the devices are able to connect to each other without the user needing to give commands or press buttons. According to Karygiannis and Owen's book, this type of topology is known as "ad–hoc networking technology." Ad–hoc networks are also known as Pico nets where each Bluetooth–enabled device is capable of connecting with a maximum of seven devices to form a network in proximity. Advantages of Bluetooth: Bluetooth allows devices to connect wirelessly and automatically. In order to make this connection between devices, however, the devices need not be connection through electrical wires, Ethernet cables, or Infrared signals. Bluetooth technology provides an edge over Infra red technology as "they [Bluetooth technology] do not have to be in line of sight of each other" (Wikipedia.org). [7] The Bluetooth specification has 2 power levels; a lower power that covers the shorter personal area within a room, and a higher power level that can cover a medium range, such as within a home. The distance covered by Bluetooth is commonly 30ft, but it can also cover larger area up to 100 ft. Bluetooth supports ad hoc voice and data transmission. The Bluetooth devices find each other and spontaneously create a network called a piconet, which can link up to 8 devices, with one being the primary and the rest secondaries. A secondary however can serve as a primary in another piconet, to form a scatternet. The Bluetooth baseband protocol is a combination of circuit and packet switching. Time slots can be reserved for synchronous packets. A frequency hop is done for each packet that is transmitted. A packet nominally covers a single time slot, but can be extended to cover up to five slots. [1] Bluetooth can support; an asynchronous data channel, or up to 3 simultaneous synchronous voice channels, or a channel which simultaneously supports asynchronous data and synchronous voice. 2. • 38. Security Vulnerabilities Of Data Transfer Via Bluetooth Security vulnerabilities in data transfer via Bluetooth Introduction: Bluetooth is becoming more popular as it allows data transfer within a short range with minimal battery consumption. The uses of bluetooth are ever increasing with introduction of wireless products such as smartwatches, headphones and also because of data transfer between two hand– held devices. With an increase in usage, there also is an increase in security threat. Bluetooth, which has been vulnerable to security exploitations since its inception. The earliest form of this was the Cabir worm, which is believed to have been the first wireless worm. It could transmit itself to mobile phones using the Symbian platform when those devices were turned on and in discoverable mode. While it wasn't very harmful – it sent a message with the caribe.ss file attached; when downloaded the file displayed the word "Caribe" on the handset screen – it served as a wakeup call to the industry. Bluetooth threats have evolved since those days, and while they aren't extremely dangerous they can still be quite serious. Threats: When two bluetooth devices try to authenticate each other by sharing PIN, they are exposed to intervention. These weaknesses are a result of weak link key establishment protocol, which is necessary while pairing of device. Also since encryption is not compulsory and is created after the end of pairing process. It means that the various types of attacks can be performed well before pairing is complete. ... Up to eight devices can communicate in a small network called a piconet. Ten of these piconets can coexist in the same coverage range of the Bluetooth radio. To provide security, each link is encoded and protected against eavesdropping and interference. Bluetooth provides support for three general application areas using short–range wireless connectivity:  Data and voice access points. Bluetooth facilitates real–time voice and data transmissions by providing effortless wireless connection of portable and stationary communications devices.  Cable replacement. Bluetooth eliminates the need for numerous, often proprietary cable attachments for connection of practically any kind of communications device. Connections are instant and are maintained even when devices are not within line of sight. The range of each radio is approximately 10 m, but can be extended to 100 m with an optional amplifier.  Ad hoc networking. A device equipped with a Bluetooth radio can establish instant connection to another Bluetooth radio as soon as it comes into range. 1.3 Bl uetooth Standards Documents

  • 67. Bluetooth And Wi Fi Networks ABSTRACT Bluetooth and Wi–Fi are two branches of the same tree. They only differ in the way they are used. Bluetooth is used to transfer data between devices, which are placed near to each other, without the use of cables. Terminology of Wi–Fi is quite the same but the range of distance between the devices could be quite large. A typical Wi–Fi network that is being used in a household could have a range of 200m but a Wi–Fi network that is being used by a business firm could transfer data in several kilometers. Bluetooth has a small area of influence (area in which a particular device or network has some influence). Mostly Bluetooth is used to transfer data between personnel devices such as handsets, tablets etc. Content that is basically transferred using Bluetooth is usually small, in Mbs, such as music sounds, low quality, short videos and stuff like that. Nowadays each and every computer device has Bluetooth enabled in it. From mobiles to tablets, laptops to desktop computers every single one of them has Bluetooth facility with them. Bluetooth is a necessity in today's electronic lifestyle. A company that manufactures computer devices would not prosper in this field unless it gives extra features and when we talk about extra features Bluetooth is the top priority. On the other hand Wi–Fi is much more advance than Bluetooth. Wi–Fi has a lot bigger network as compared to Bluetooth and with a bigger network it means that it is much more efficient and suitable for large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wi-Direct Bluetooth vs Wi–Fi–Direct For this project, we have the possibility or choice to use either Bluetooth or Wi–Fi Direct to facilitate the communication between the system and the app. If you peek into the future, it is hard not to imagine an always–on community that features a large number of connected devices that work together to make your life more convenient. We are now not quite there yet – the main reason being the availability or lack of that and the power use of an always–on connection between devices. From the convenience of digital wallets, to the completely connected home; having a secure, reliable, and sure way to transmit data is truly the last piece to the always–on puzzle. With Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi–Fi Direct –– we have put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once a device is paired, the connection remains active only while in use, a feature that wasn 't available in previous generations of Bluetooth technology due to difficulty in pairing and connecting some Bluetooth–ready devices. For example, if you want to share a photo between two phones via Bluetooth, the connection becomes active while the move (from one place to another) begins. After completion, Bluetooth goes back into "standby" mode, meaning it won 't use power when it 's not needed. Another example that is being thrown around is in the mobile payments (or cash withdrawal) world. A person (who uses a product or service) enables Bluetooth to move (from one place to another) money between their digital wallet account and a guiding light–based payment processor (don 't confuse it with NFC payments). While the two devices communicate, the phone experiences (almost nothing/very little) electrical storage device loss. Once the move (from one place to another) is complete, Bluetooth once again enters stand–by mode. In addition to decreases in electrical storage device usage, Bluetooth 4.0 is fast. I mean, really fast. By using the 802.11ac rules of conduct you can actually move (from one place to another)data at speeds of up to 24Mbit/s. This feature is carried over from v3.0, but unlike version ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wireless LANs are commonly used on college campuses and most laptops come equipped with wireless LAN capabilities. They do not have any defined boundaries, which makes it hard for the user to control the network traffic. Wireless LANs make it possible for people to use the internet anywhere there is free and non–secured Wi–Fi. The ability to connect wirelessly is based on the location of the access point. If a person is close to an access point, they can get a strong signal. If they far, they can get a weak signal or no signal. Wireless LANs can be unreliable as well because of weather, and the environment. There are many ways to implement Wireless LANs. They are infrastructure BSS, independent BSS, ESS, and distribution system. The most common way is the BSS. Wireless LANs have base stations that are connected to a wired infrastructure called access points. The stations have to communication through the access point. They cannot communicate directly. Independent BSS is more popular in military applications. Computenetworking.about.com says, "The key hardware components of a wireless computer network include adapters, routers and access points, antennas and repeaters." • 84. Bluetooth 's Speed And Coverage Range Created in 1994, Bluetooth technology was apprehended as a wireless alternate to data cables by exchanging data using radio broadcasts. The name Bluetooth originated from a tenth century Danish King, Harald Blatand or, in English, Harold Bluetooth (Bluetooth, 2016). Bluetooth establishes smaller, continuously connected, networks. Bluetooth 's speed and coverage range is much smaller than Wi–Fi 's, however the trade–off permits Bluetooth to function at much lower energy expenditures and link to different devices in the course of a day that is impeccable for vastly mobile devices with inadequate batteries, such as cellular phones (Gardner, 2003). Bluetooth devices consume radio waves instead of wires or cables to connect to a phone or computer. A Bluetooth artifact, like an earpiece or watch, contains a small computer chip with a Bluetooth receiver and software that enables it to easily connect. When two Bluetooth devices need to communicate with each other, they need to pair. Communication between Bluetooth devices occurs over short–range, ad hoc networks identified as piconets. A piconet is a system of devices linked using Bluetooth technology. The system arrays from two to eight paired devices. When a network is recognized, one device precedes the role of the dominant while all the other devices act as subservient. Piconets are established vigorously and repeatedly as Bluetooth devices enter and leave radio vicinity (Bluetooth, 2016). Bluetooth Functions Bluetooth delivers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
