Tossing The Cookies
Tossing the Cookies I chose this ethical dilemma as I believe it offers a chance to employ both
individualistic and communal approaches in the solution. The individualistic approach would be
appropriate for use with Jessica to address her personal behavior. The communal approach would be
appropriate to address all of the employees, who are acting essentially as a community, as some of
them also took unsold perishable items. Initially, I would approach Jessica to discuss her motivations
for taking some of the unsold perishable items home with her. I would want to know if she has
financial difficulties that are making it difficult to feed herself or her family. I would also discuss with
her, my concerns about her making management decisions

An Example Of Perseverance In Warriors Don T Cry
How many times in life have you struggled but got through a difficult time? That is called
perseverance. The definition of perseverance is Steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or
delay in achieving success. Synonyms are persistence and determination. It originated from the latin
word perseverare. Right now the world has been filled with natural disasters, from hurricanes to
wildfires. Everyone that this affected has been forced to persevere through it because there is not
much that they have the ability to do besides staying strong. In all of the nonfiction literature we have
read there were many different examples of perseverance from many different people. I decided to
choose three. For my first example Melba Pattillo Beals from Warriors Don t Cry . There is numerous
examples of the Little Rock 9 and her doing something despite difficulty. For the second example of
perseverance I chose Maya Angelou. Through her life there were countless times that she was faced
adversity and still achieved success. My third example is Earl Simmons (DMX) from the book
E.A.R.L . He went through a tough time at almost all time growing up and he never gave up and
achieved success. Perseverance creates success; therefore, when you stick through something you can
accomplish what you want. In the book Warriors Don t Cry Melba Pattillo Beals and the rest of the
Little Rock 9 were faced with racism as they were trying to go to a all white school. They all had

A Interview With A Counselor Essay
When attempting to locate a School Counselor to interview, I decided to interview a counselor at a
local middle school located in Coal City, West Virginia. This interview will familiarize you with a
School Counselor by the name of James Payne. You will gain a better understanding of his counseling
history, his theory on counseling in a school system, the beliefs he expressed regarding the counseling
profession and finally how he assists students on a daily basis.
Professional History
James Payne is one of two School Counselors at Independence Middle School located in Coal City,
West Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree at Concord University in Health and Physical
Education. Unlike most middle school counselors, Mr. Payne has a special history; He is currently a
Major in the United States Army. Following the attacks on September 11, 2001, Mr. Payne joined the
Army to serve his country. Mr. Payne was enlisted in the Army for around six years. He is still active
in the Army Reserves.
Following his military service, Mr. Payne decided to return to school to obtain his Master s degree in
School Counseling. Mr. Payne graduated with his Master s degree in Counseling from West Virginia
University. Mr. Payne taught Special Education for one year prior to becoming a counselor. His first
Counseling position was at East Park Elementary School in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Mr. Payne has
been counseling at Independence Middle School for the past two years. He

Jayhawkville Central High School Case Study
At Jayhawkville Central High School I noticed that the school showcased different circuits of
communicating that is affecting the overall dynamic of the school. At Jayhawkville Central High
School the Principal, is a strong leader and direct when he communicates, but is reluctant to
implement ideas or suggestions from his building staff. The Principal has also alienated the staff, and
showcases strict rules, but the staff is usually unclear about his expectations, and afraid to ask
questions. With the Principals leadership style, there s a clear disconnect among staff members which
has interrupted the effectiveness of the curriculum being taught in the classrooms. The assistant
principals at the school are also driven by different entities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The staff doesn t feel appreciated, and the building leaders are on different pages when it comes to the
success and direction of the school. According to Standard four, A school administrator is an
educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and
community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing
community resources. In contrast, the article, Building Community Schools Relationship, states that
School community partnerships can interconnect together many resources and strategies to enhance
communities that support all youth and their families. They could improve schools, strengthen
neighborhoods and lead to a noticeable reduction in young people s problems. Building such
partnerships requires visioning, strategic planning, creative leadership and new multifaceted roles for
professionals who work in schools and communities. In order to address or anticipate pressure groups,
the building leader needs to effectively finds ways to manage conflict and build relationships among
the administrative staff first. As a building leader, I would assess the current climate and culture first
by meeting individually with assistant principals to ensure that we are all on the same page before

Electronic Medical Records Systems Essay
Electronic Medical Records systems lie at the center of any computerized health information system,
without them other modern technologies, such as decision support systems cannot be effectively
integrated into routine clinical workflow. The paperless, inter operable, multi provider, multi specialty,
multi discipline computer medical record, which has been a goal for many researchers, healthcare
professionals, administrators, and politicians for the past 20+ years is however about to become a
reality in many western countries. The Obama administration has proposed, as part of the effort to
revive the economy, a massive effort to modernize healthcare by making all health records
standardized and electronic by 2014. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Getting access to them takes a lot of time and effort. Time and money spent on phone calls, faxes,
emails obtaining these records from other places can be saved. Sometimes, medical tests have already
been done over again, incurring unnecessary costs to the patient and the healthcare system.
2) EMRs keep records safe. Paper records can be easily lost. Fires, floods and other natural disasters
have destroyed medical records for many years, data which is lost forever. Digital records can be
stored virtually forever and can be kept long after the physical records are gone.
3) EMRs facilitate coordination between health care professionals. Coordination between primary care
providers and care of patients has always been problematic. Paper charting leaves room for deficits in
medical information exchange. The reports from hospitals generally do not get to primary providers
and results in decreased quality of care after hospitalization.
4) EMRs can save lives. EMRs can save lives in unusual circumstances. EMRs can be used for disease
surveillance during epidemics and bioterrorism.
5) Using reminders, prompts, and alerts from computerized decision support systems would help
improve compliance with the best clinical practices, ensure regular screenings, and other preventive
practices, identify possible drug interactions and facilitate diagnoses and treatments.
6) Computerized administrative tools, such as

Factors Caused By Recreational Scuba Diving And Snorkeling...
Globally, marine ecosystems, in particular, coral reefs, are experiencing increasing pressure due to the
growth in recreational scuba diving, and snorkeling. Pressure refers to the frequency, and quantity of
divers, and dive boats on any particular reef. This pressure often results in damage to the reef, and is
caused by divers, snorkelers, and even dive boat anchors, and anchor lines, furthermore, this damage
takes significant time to repair, due to the rate at which coral grows, and repairs itself. Although this
damage is not irreparable, continual pressure by recreational dive and snorkeling industries, can lead
to damage beyond the reef s ability to recover. Damaged reefs result in loss of sea life, vibrancy, and
color, the primary draw for divers, snorkelers, and other marine enthusiasts. Consequently, this
damage extends to the economies of the local communities, in which water related activities are a
primary source of revenue. To sustain these local communities economies, and tourist enjoyment,
private SCUBA organizations can coordinate, and facilitate options to reduce the recreational damage
of the ocean s reef system through education, artificial reef attractions, and alternative dive programs.
SCUBA diving is a growing, and global recreational sport, with one certification agency, PADI,
claiming an annual average of 900,000 new diver certifications globally . Of course, not all of these
new divers will continue on to become frequent, or repeat divers, however,

Social Change In Japan Essay
The Japanese culture has allowed for very little diversity. This started very early in their history. The
social controls used to eliminate diversity are the family, the power of gender, the poor treatment of
minority groups, the corporate Japanese mentality, and the respect required by people in authority.
However, due to globalization and the shrinking of the world, Japanese society is starting to make the
change to diversity. The individualistic mentality shared by the new technology driven younger
generation is putting pressure on the old Japanese status quo. The transformation is happening very
slow, but as the population ages and the old conservatives are being replaced by the new liberals, the

Equal rights were not granted to women until the Occupation Era following World War II. The
modifications that were made to the existing Meiji Constitution gave women the same rights as men
for the first time in the country s history. Prior to that they were seen as servants, dominated by their
husbands, in what can only be described as a master / slave relationship. The new Japanese
Constitution of 1947 empowered the Japanese women for the first time in the countries history.
Minorities were persecute throughout Japan s past. Native Anglo s were hunted down and slaughtered.
The surviving numbers were driven north onto the smaller surrounding islands. The closed era of
Tokogawa Shogunate tried to remove all of the diversity within society. Any thought other than the
Shinto/Buddhist/Confucianism that dominated was society was expelled. The violent massacre of
Christians during this period only supported conformity to the ideals of the ruling class. The stance
they took on foreign thought and technology insured that no outside influences would affect Japanese
culture. This view lasted over 200 years until the country was opened to foreigners again. The long
period the Japanese spent with no diversity combined with the loyalty and honor themes of Bushido,
made it impossible for them to accept diversity after the country was opened again.
The xenophobic sentiment of the Tokogawa Era only added to the strict view that Japanese had of
individuality. The feeling was solidified

Flowers For Algernon Courage Analysis
In Flowers for Algernon there are many great acts of courage, from a multitude of characters. Charlie
is the main character and shows the most acts of courage because it is his story that the book follows.
Although Charlie is not aware of his actions and the results of them, he shows courage through his
connection to his family and how he would do anything for his loved ones. In the beginning of
Flowers for Algernon, the reader sees Charlie in a laboratory, making reports on his progress for an
experiment that has only been tested on a mouse. At the start of the book, we do not know who he is,
but through his progress reports, we see him develop, and we learn more about his life as a child.
Importance means a connection between different people. People connect on the bases of talking,
interacting and eye contact. Charlie is a very challenged young man with a difficulty doing what
others can do with ease. This includes his problems connecting with people, and his interaction as
well. During Charlie s childhood, he is forced by his mother (Rose) to try to be normal. Roses opinion
of normal is her daughter Norma. That is what Rose wants; for him to be like Norma. Seeing Rose
standing there with the knife brought back the picture of that night she had forced Matt to take me
away. She was reliving that now. I couldn t speak or move. The nausea swept over me, the choking
tension, the buzzing in my ears, my stomach knotting and stretching as if it wanted to tear itself out of
my body. (275) The quotation is talking about his childhood, from the memories that he experienced,
showing Roses true hopes. During the book, it is shown that to make her son normal, Rose takes
Charlie to see multiple doctors to try to make Charlie normal by operating on him. I tolld him because
all my life I wantid to be smart and not dumb and my mom always tolld me to try and lern. (4) This
quotation is proof that Charlie wants to be normal because that is what his mother wants him to be
like. Charlie is standing up for himself, doing what he wants. He is being courageous by having
strength in the face of fear.
The interaction that Charlie has with different characters in the book is mind blowing.

Thinkers of the Enlightenment Essay
Enlightenment
The Enlightenment era was a new intellectual movement that stressed reason and thought and the
power of individuals to solve problems. Even though different philosophers approached their goal
differently, they achieved it none the less. They all approached their goal differently due to their
different upbringings, their different backgrounds, and most importantly their different environments.
A few among the many enlightened thinkers were Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Baron Do
Montesquieu, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. While some of their idea s are not used in modern society,
they were all instrumental to the modern society we live in today.

Without him we might have strayed to an absolute dictatorship the likes of which was suggested by
Thomas Hobbes.
Enlightenment thinkers challenged authority by speaking their mind to say the very least. They spoke
their mind, instigated riots, and told people to change their own government. The fact that they
preached their mind alone without regard of consequence is enough evidence that they challenged
authority. Although many individuals were persecuted and intimidated into keeping quiet, they were
not scarred by their respective governments and it is for that reason that we enjoy the fruits of their
labor. Had they not endeavored so, and had they trembled in the face of adversity, we might be living
in a country without any centralized government at all.
Despite the fact that there were countless enlightenment thinkers, there are still many identifiable
similarities between various of them. For example Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rousseau both
believed in the need for a social contract, and in individualism. They both disagreed on how to go
about these things. Thomas Hobbes described an absolute monarchy with limited rights. Jean Jacques
Rousseau on the other hand described an democracy with unalienable rights. These two thinkers are a
perfect example who thought of different ideals, practiced them in different ways, but nonetheless
helped shape the world we live in today.

Henry Iv Part 1 Character Analysis
A leader tends to be a person you look up to, a person that you can trust and follow. In the play Henry
IV Part One by William Shakespeare there are many different types of leaders. Each one is different
because of the many different leadership qualities they possess. The story is about Prince Hal the son
of King Henry IV and the battle for the throne. Prince Hal was not well liked by his father because he
hung around in taverns all day with drunks instead of learning the ways of becoming a king. Hotspur,
the most well known warrior gets his family, the Percy s to challenge the king into battle for the throne
and for all of the pain the king causes their family. Hal tries to prove to his father that he is fit to rule

During Shakespeare s time a book called The Prince was written by Niccolo Machiavelli. It was a
guide for princes on how to use power while leading. Most of Shakespeare s characters are based on
the Machiveal. In the Machiavel article it says, The essential quality of a ruler was the effective use of
power to guarantee his own survival. Even though it sounds pretty cynical the play shows that it is an
important factor of leadership for Hal. In Shakespeare s mind, A successful leader must have some
basic skills of the Machiavel. Some qualities of a Machiavel are being manipulative, inventive,
charismatic, and willingful. Shakespeare incorporated all of these characteristics into Prince Hal to
make him a great leader. In the article it also talks about how there is one particular important quality
to watch for. This is the Machiavelli s use of language. They use their words for purposes of their own
instead of being meaningful and honest while talking to someone. This tactic is used by Prince Hal.
While he talks with the commoners he makes them believe that he is there friend and that he speaks
the same language as them. He talks poorly about them behind their backs but is able to gain their
trust which is a good thing to have when he is running the kingdom. Shakespeare incorporated a lot of
the Machiavel figure into Prince Hal because that is what he thinks makes an effective modern

The Chaos Of The Storm By William Golding Analysis
Everybody knew the the storm was coming. The clouds were building, the air felt as if it could
explode, the color drained from the water. It s this setting where a terrible incident occurs in Lord of
the Flies, where a group of kids is stranded on an island with no adults, and a struggle over power
emerges. To make matters worse, the kids believe there s a beast on the island. In Chapter 9, the storm
strikes both physically and figuratively. The boys fears and violent emotions kick in and lead them to
kill Simon, a quiet but kind boy whom they mistakenly think is the beast in the chaos of the storm.

the storm to build drama. His word choice describes the coming of the storm and the boys increasingly

has arrived, with both the lightning continuously striking and the boys chants coming faster and faster.
And finally, he uses animal imagery to unleash the beast, resulting in the death of Simon. Like any

Yosemite National Park is one of the most well known national parks in the United States. It is
especially famous for its beautifully inspiring scenery. Yosemite expands 748,542 acres and is located
on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada. The elevation of the park ranges from 2,127 to 13,114 feet
(Bortman, p. 1546). The closest town is Mariposa with neighboring counties including Madera and
Fresno. Today, 3.5 million people visit Yosemite annually ( History Culture Yosemite National Park
(U.S. National Park Service) ). With the attraction of millions of tourists, the national park has been
designated inalienable for all time. The creation of Yosemite dates back to the Precambrian era. The
region of what is now Yosemite sat between two continents. The Farallon Plate subducted under the
North American Plate and created an arc of volcanoes during the Devonian and Permian periods
(Harris, p. 328). The solidification of magma created igneous rock during the Triassic period and in

also forming. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are constructed of granite (Harris, p. 337). The creation of
Yosemite Valley was by glaciation. The formation of glaciers and the process of being covered by
these ice sheets began approximately 3 million years ago (Harris, p. 339). According to Harris, at least
four of these glaciations have occurred (p. 339). The first glaciation, called the Sherwin, was

Band Performance Review
It was the night that I went to see and support my friend s middle school band performance. I

At the very moment I knew that music was something I wanted to learn and study all through life.
There was something beautiful about the way each individual instrument sounded, and the abilities
that each musician had to make their instruments sound a certain way. The next year I signed up for
my school s band classes and began to learn and study about music and music theory. The one thing

Bhagavad Gita Reincarnation Essay
The duration of life in a material reality may be very long, but all living bodies in the material world
are eventually subject to a thing of the past and have to again develop other bodies. This idea of one
life coming after another, continuing an endless cycle of life; allows death to never exist. In the epic
Bhagavad Gita by the scribe Veda Vyasa, the theme of reincarnation is portrayed by Lord Krishna,
telling a young warrior named Arjuna, to not dwell on the physical nature of this world because it can
all be born again.
In the Hindu religion, karma exists, which means whatever acts have been acted upon and whatever
thoughts have been though having created an impression on the physical nature of the world and in the
infinite universe. Arjuna is in the midst of charging to battle towards his cousins over the inheritance
of the kingdom. The cousins exiled them, but with a vow that Arjuna and his brothers could reclaim
the throne under certain conditions. Arjuna complied with the circumstances and completed them. In
court, the cousin King violates his vow and brings about an unforgivable deed, ending in war. Now on
the battlefield, Arjuna sees all of his loved ones on the opposite side of the void between two warring
parties. At the sight of those who raised Arjuna to be a man stand to oppose him, I am unstrung, my
limbs collapse/beneath me, and my mouth is dry/there is a trembling in my body (The Bhagavad Gita

Leading Causes Of Death In Horses
There is a lot to know about horses. The most important thing you need to to know is how to keep
your horse safe. You can do this by learning about different diseases horses can have and how to treat
them as well as knowing what to do when they get hurt. The leading causes of death in horses are old
age, colic, and injury. Following the first three are diseases. If your horse gets into an accident and
hurts itself a veterinarian needs to be contacted immediately. When a horse colics it has extreme
abdominal pain. You need to call a vet right away and walk the horse around. Two of the most
common signs of a horse colicking is laying down sprawled out and looking at their stomach.
Vaccinating your horse is essential. It is the only way to keep your horse from contracting and
spreading dangerous and potentially fatal diseases. The six main vaccines that you must give to

Key Ideas In The Film The Killing Fields
What is the main idea of The Killing Fields ? In the film The Killing Fields , there are lots of key
ideas, which make the film watchable and likeable. One of the key ideas of The Killing Fields is the
development of the friendship between, Dith Pran and Sydney Shanberg. Another key idea, in the
film, is survival. Survival was an important factor for Pran as he was captured, and was taken to a
working camp where, the Khmer Rouge ran the camps. The main idea of The Killing Fields is the
lasting friendship, between Dith Pran and Sydney Shanberg. At the start of the film, Shanberg is
experiencing lots of horrific things, right beside Pran and no matter what happens, they stick together,
through it all. When Shanberg found out the American embassy was going to be evacuated, he told
Pran to get his family out of Cambodia. Therefore Shanberg helped out Pran, and his family. This
helps Pran and Shanberg create a stronger relationship. Another example of how strong their
friendship is, was when the American Embassy was evacuated, despite all the dangers that they are
going to faced, they decided they would stay in Cambodia and finish the story together. Again

Employee benefits play a crucial role in the lives of employees as well as their families; therefore,
benefits offered by employers can often times be the deciding factor for potential employee s decision

Social Security, to those that are just optional, such as health insurance. This essay will discuss the

One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other Ones Analysis
Webster s dictionary defines a family as a group of people sharing a common ancestry . While some
families, such as those with bank robbers, drug dealers or users, and mass murderers are notorious and
other family members would like to forget about the non conformers, most people take pride in their
lineage. Ask almost anyone about their family and they will be sure to relate how many doctors,
lawyers, congressmen, etc. they have in their bloodline. You will probably see a strong connection
from generation to generation.
Human nature causes us to crave being around those who accept us for what we are. Nothing is more

I establish that Adele had the platform to make this speech because she was given the power to do so.
The Academy awards handed this power to her literally in the form of an award and in turn, the
Grammy awards exposed the underlying racial problems they have been hounded about for years. It is
worth noting that mainstream categories like the Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of
the Year , Adele was nominated for are considered to be white privileged while other categories like
Best R n b and Best Urban contemporary album are considered to be black . These awards meant to
celebrate artists have become boxes in the forms of categories designed to zone artists based on race.
This play of power in the form of white privilege and its use to box black artists will be best
understood from a historical and relatable perspective. The New york Times offers an informatory
perspective from which we can understand how the Grammys conceptually segregate artists. Then, the
pattern of conceptual segregation will exposed by examining racial zoning in early urban planning
movements and its relation to conceptual segregation. Most importantly, Adele s speech provides a

Social Factors And Social Causes Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution was mainly the result of social causes. In the 18th century, the social classes
were categorized as the First Estate, consisting of the clergy; the Second Estate, consisting of the
aristocracy; and finally the Third Estate, including every remaining citizen; from the bourgeoisie
(merchants, lawyers, businessmen) all the way to the poor peasants of the land. All the members of the
first two estates were privileged in law and taxation. Moreover, there was virtually no way to move up
the social ladder unless you were born into it, consequently, raising anger among the bourgeoisie
since, despite their equivalence in wealth as certain nobles, they still had lower living conditions than
the first two estates and were considered the minority.
The bourgeoisie s (middle class) ambition was a major contributor of the French Revolution. This

Psychological Theories Of Aggression
With new fads and hoaxes being created and revived daily on the internet it can be helpful to have a
healthy amount of skepticism when approaching these topics. From gamers and game makers
claiming that children have free will and many parents saying that children say and do what they see it
can be difficult to tell where the truth lies. By using psychological studies on the behavior of observers
the truth can be much less murky. If children watch their parents and repeat what they say, then it can
be predicted that they would do the same for other sources of information as well, including the
media.
Media affect theories in modern times originated with Bandura s social learning theory, which

The working definition of aggression, as stated in Violent Media Effects, is any actions directed
toward an individual that is carried out with the intent to cause them harm. The perpetrator must also
believe that the actions will harm the target and that the target would be motivated to avoid the
behavior (Groves, C. L., Prot, S., Anderson, C. A, 2016, pg.3). While it is important to know about
horrific acts of violence so that the human race can avoid repeating them, watching such crude acts is
not crucial.
Technological advancements have given rise to unprecedented access to television shows, movies, and
video games. Scientists have dedicated much of their attention on how media, particularly violent
media, influences viewers, and players. It is important to keep a child s innocence while still allowing
them to explore the world around them, and acts of violence are one thing they don t need to witness.

Theological Symbolism in Cool Hand Luke Essay
In the 1967 prison film Cool Hand Luke, directed by Stuart Rosenberg, there are many examples of
theological symbolism and religious themes. Most of the symbolism alludes to Jesus Christ, which is
often utilized in film to add depth to the protagonist in the story. Such Christ figure symbolism can
also be seen in films such as the 1999 hit The Matrix and the original Star Wars film (1977). Along
with these visual suggestions, there are also thematic elements that underlie Cool Hand Luke which
involve Biblical allusions and metaphysical questions.
The film revolves around a man named Lucas Jackson, portrayed by the legendary actor Paul

Luke s goal was to challenge the establishment (to which he seemed to think was unjust) and make an
example of hope for his fellow men in that they wouldn t have to bow down to Dragline. Interestingly
enough, after this fight, Dragline becomes acquainted with Luke and becomes very friendly.
Another scene that had a similar theme of crucifixion was when Luke boasted he could eat fifty eggs
in the span of an hour. All of the inmates gather around him while Dragline fed him the eggs. Luke
was taking this challenge in order to prove himself to the inmates, as well as to make money from all
the bets placed on him. After he finishes eating the fifty eggs, he lies on the table with his arms
outstretched. The camera zooms out and focuses on Luke on the table for a few seconds, which further
reinforces the image of the crucifixion. Although there are not many direct implications from this
scene as to what Luke was sacrificing himself for, it may have been for the fifty inmates at the jail.
Perhaps Luke was sacrificing his stomach to stimulate the small economy in the prison, since
everyone seemed to be profiting in some form after his challenge. The image of the crucifixion also
occurs at the end of the film, when Dragline is reminiscing about Luke s actions, and a photograph of
Luke is placed on crossroad which creates a cross. The camera focuses away and this image

Anastrozole (Arimidex) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used when
using substantial amounts of aromatizing steroids, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using
moderate amounts of such steroids. Arimidex does not have the side effects of aminoglutethimide
(Cytadren) and can achieve a high degree of estrogen blockade, much moreso than Cytadren. It is
possible to reduce estrogen too much with Arimidex, and for this reason blood tests, or less preferably
salivary tests, should be taken after the first week of use to determine if the dosing is correct. As an
aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex s mechanism of action blocking conversion of aromatizable steroids to
estrogen is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti estrogens such as clomiphene (Clomid) or
tamoxifen (Nolvadex), which block estrogen receptors in some tissues, and activate estrogen receptors
in others. During a cycle, if using Arimidex, there is generally no need to use Clomid as well,

In this day in age we find ourselves wondering if is feasible for men to get paid paternity leave, since

because not all companies pay women to take maternity leave. So why would we pay our men to take

Having the father home will help with daycare cost when the mother goes back to work. There are
some potential downsides to men having paid paternity leave. Most countries make parental leave
open to both men and women; women take the vast majority of leave. When leave is long, this can
have some consequences for women s place in the labor market. For example, in Sweden parents have
the right to a parental leave for up to 18 months, but women take nearly 85% of parental leave. The
major goal of Swedish policy these days is to encourage men to take more parental leave; already
there are two month daddy only leaves, which are lost to the couple if the father doesn t take them.
The problem with fathers taking paternity leave is that the fathers are scared to take leave for the fear
that they may lose their jobs. Companies should offer paternity leave for expectant fathers. By
offering paternity leave for fathers to be companies allow fathers to be a benefit of paid or unpaid time
off work to care for their child, make arrangements for the child s welfare, and preparation for the
adoption of a child. Generally, offering paternity leave for fathers allows them to benefit the birth of a
child. Companies that provide the option of paternity leave grant these fathers the privilege of being

Hieroglyph Research Paper
The civilization of the pharaohs went into eclipse more 2000 years ago when it conquered by

which was learned by heart. Whereas Horapollo, in the 4th century AD or later believed that the
hieroglyphs were both fictitious and genuine. During 1419, a manuscript was discovered on a Greek

How Does Mercury Energy Affect Ethical Behavior
The power disconnection by Mercury Energy resulted to the premature death of Mrs. Muliaga.
Though health specialists assigned to Mrs. Muliaga had only given her 1 3 years of life, she had defied
the odds and lived for over five years. When the news of Mercury Energy participation reached the
public, the media become awash with accusations of how the state owned Mercury Energy victimizes
its customers. Mercury Energy was accused on implementing capitalist principles in its operations.
Capitalism in business means that a company is driven to make profits. Mercury Energy disconnected
the Muliaga s power supply without determining the underlying issues that could have caused the
delay in payment. Mercury Energy was accused of ethical misbehavior by failing to overlook their
disconnection policy based on the patient s need for an operational oxygen machine.
The executives and management of Mercury Energy also came off as contemptuous, having
vehemently denied responsibility for the premature death of their customer. Mercury Energy as a
brand name suffered severely with the news of its involvement with the death of Mrs. Muliaga. As a
state owned company funded by tax payers, the public expected Mercury Energy to look at Muliaga s
predicament with special considerations (Eweje, Wu, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The contractor was informed on the need for continued power supply in the Muliaga s house. The
contractor even acknowledged to have seen the oxygen machine in the house. However, he went
ahead to disconnect Muliaga s power supply making the oxygen machine useless for the patient.
Mercury Energy ignored the fact that disconnecting power from the Muliaga s residence would have
life threatening consequences (Thomas, Dienhart, 2004. Mercury Energy ignored ethics and chose to
adhere to their business policy regarding the disconnection of power. Mercury Energy gives customers

Reasons for Devotion to Hindu Goddesses
Reasons for devotion to Hindu goddesses Hinduism portrays feminine divinity in a more exalted way
than most other religions do. Though Hindu goddesses are usually depicted as consorts, wives or
companions to a Hindu god, cases exist in which they are worshipped independently; Tantrism for
example, where it is believed that women posses more spiritual power than men, thus men can achieve
divinity through union with a woman ( Tantrism ). Most villages reinforce the mother aspect of
goddesses and worship them individually as their protector, regarding them as having originated in the
area and thus being tied to the health and prosperity of the village (Caldwell). Others who may devote
themselves to a goddess might be in order to conquer or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kali then proceeds to kill all the asuras in a frenzied manner, later offering the heads of their leaders
Chanda and Munda to Durga. Her second appearance is in the follow chapter, where she battles
Raktabija, and assures success by sucking all of his blood so he could not reproduce anymore, per
Durga s command, while she slayed him ( Devimahatmya ch. 7 8). Another myth ties Kali with
Parvati, telling of an army of demons that threatens the safety of the world. Men cannot slay them, and
so Shiva calls for his wife to aid them in battle. Parvati accepts the responsibility, swallowing the
poison stored in Shiva s throat and morphing into Kali. However, she becomes too drunk with the
poison and, after defeating all the demons, threatens to destroy the world herself with her berserk
dance. In an attempt to subdue his wife, Shiva then lays on the floor in front of Kali, who in her
delirious state does not notice his presence and steps on him. Shamed that she had showed such
disgraceful behavior, she bites her tongue in humiliation. The last scene of the above tale is illustrated
in a lot of imagery, and while the tale itself has a lot of variations, many Hindus will arrive at the same
resolution. It is in this perception that many contradictions lie. Another question rises, What does Kali
s tongue biting really mean? Most Hindus will claim that it is to show shame, which is what the action
means in Bengali culture,

Quality Of Life And Health Organization
Background:
Currently, quality of life (QOL) as a measure of individuals subjective feelings on various aspects of
life and health is regarded as an important concept. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines
QOL as an individual s perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value
systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns (World
Health Organization, 1997). To evaluate the extent of QOL, the WHOQOL Group developed an
assessment instrument called WHOQOL BREF, (WHOQoL Group, 1998; World Health Organization,
1996) a shortened, 26 item instrument.
In Bangladesh (six studies), Izutsu et al. developed and validated the Bangla version of the WHOQOL

Practice
1. Differentiate between the significance of the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation and the
significance of the subscripts in a chemical formula.
· Coefficients show the correct proportions of atoms and molecules in a chemical reaction. They are
normal sized numbers placed at the beginning of the chemical formulas in a chemical reaction during
the process of balancing. They tell how many of an entire chemical formula is in a reaction.
· Subscripts show the correct proportions of atoms/ions in a chemical formula. They are the small
numbers within the chemical formula. They tell how many individual atoms/ions are present.

7. What is plasma?
· Plasma has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape.
· Plasma is often seen within ionized gases.
· Plasma is distinct from a gas because it possesses unique properties: o It contains free electrical
charges (not bound to atoms or ions) o It can be produced by heating and ionizing a gas. · Plasma is
often found in areas of the planet/universe where extremely high heats are possible and gases exist to
help create the plasma.
8. Put hydrogen bonds, dispersion forces and dipole dipole forces in order of how strong they are and
give an example of each type of attraction.
· Strongest = Hydrogen bonds which have hydrogen attached to a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen
(Example: Oxygen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of H2O s)
· Medium Strength = Dipole Dipole bonds which occur between the slight positive end of one polar
molecule and the slight negative end of another polar molecule (Example: Nitrogen s attraction to
other hydrogens in a bunch of NH3 s)
· Weakest = Dispersion forces which occur in any covalently bonded molecule (Example: Hydrogen s
attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of CH4 s) Ø Note 1: These are intermolecular forces of
attraction so they occur OUTSIDE of the molecules! Ø Notes 2: One covalent bond can be all three
types at once.
9. Why do polar compounds tend to have higher melting boiling points than nonpolar compounds?
Polar compounds have electrostatic

The individualistic approach would be appropriate for use with Jessica to address her personal behavior. The communal approach would be appropriate to address all of the employees, who are acting essentially as a community, as some of them also took unsold perishable items. Initially, I would approach Jessica to discuss her motivations for taking some of the unsold perishable items home with her. I would want to know if she has financial difficulties that are making it difficult to feed herself or her family. I would also discuss with her, my concerns about her making management decisions ... • 3. An Example Of Perseverance In Warriors Don T Cry How many times in life have you struggled but got through a difficult time? That is called perseverance. The definition of perseverance is Steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Synonyms are persistence and determination. It originated from the latin word perseverare. Right now the world has been filled with natural disasters, from hurricanes to wildfires. Everyone that this affected has been forced to persevere through it because there is not much that they have the ability to do besides staying strong. In all of the nonfiction literature we have read there were many different examples of perseverance from many different people. I decided to choose three. For my first example Melba Pattillo Beals from Warriors Don t Cry . There is numerous examples of the Little Rock 9 and her doing something despite difficulty. For the second example of perseverance I chose Maya Angelou. Through her life there were countless times that she was faced adversity and still achieved success. My third example is Earl Simmons (DMX) from the book E.A.R.L . He went through a tough time at almost all time growing up and he never gave up and achieved success. Perseverance creates success; therefore, when you stick through something you can accomplish what you want. In the book Warriors Don t Cry Melba Pattillo Beals and the rest of the Little Rock 9 were faced with racism as they were trying to go to a all white school. They all had courage ... • 7. Factors Caused By Recreational Scuba Diving And Snorkeling... Globally, marine ecosystems, in particular, coral reefs, are experiencing increasing pressure due to the growth in recreational scuba diving, and snorkeling. Pressure refers to the frequency, and quantity of divers, and dive boats on any particular reef. This pressure often results in damage to the reef, and is caused by divers, snorkelers, and even dive boat anchors, and anchor lines, furthermore, this damage takes significant time to repair, due to the rate at which coral grows, and repairs itself. Although this damage is not irreparable, continual pressure by recreational dive and snorkeling industries, can lead to damage beyond the reef s ability to recover. Damaged reefs result in loss of sea life, vibrancy, and color, the primary draw for divers, snorkelers, and other marine enthusiasts. Consequently, this damage extends to the economies of the local communities, in which water related activities are a primary source of revenue. To sustain these local communities economies, and tourist enjoyment, private SCUBA organizations can coordinate, and facilitate options to reduce the recreational damage of the ocean s reef system through education, artificial reef attractions, and alternative dive programs. SCUBA diving is a growing, and global recreational sport, with one certification agency, PADI, claiming an annual average of 900,000 new diver certifications globally . Without him we might have strayed to an absolute dictatorship the likes of which was suggested by Thomas Hobbes. Enlightenment thinkers challenged authority by speaking their mind to say the very least. They spoke their mind, instigated riots, and told people to change their own government. The fact that they preached their mind alone without regard of consequence is enough evidence that they challenged authority. Although many individuals were persecuted and intimidated into keeping quiet, they were not scarred by their respective governments and it is for that reason that we enjoy the fruits of their labor. Had they not endeavored so, and had they trembled in the face of adversity, we might be living in a country without any centralized government at all. Despite the fact that there were countless enlightenment thinkers, there are still many identifiable similarities between various of them. For example Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rousseau both believed in the need for a social contract, and in individualism. They both disagreed on how to go about these things. Thomas Hobbes described an absolute monarchy with limited rights. Jean Jacques Rousseau on the other hand described an democracy with unalienable rights. Most of the symbolism alludes to Jesus Christ, which is often utilized in film to add depth to the protagonist in the story. Such Christ figure symbolism can also be seen in films such as the 1999 hit The Matrix and the original Star Wars film (1977). Another scene that had a similar theme of crucifixion was when Luke boasted he could eat fifty eggs in the span of an hour. All of the inmates gather around him while Dragline fed him the eggs. Luke was taking this challenge in order to prove himself to the inmates, as well as to make money from all the bets placed on him. After he finishes eating the fifty eggs, he lies on the table with his arms outstretched. The camera zooms out and focuses on Luke on the table for a few seconds, which further reinforces the image of the crucifixion. Although there are not many direct implications from this scene as to what Luke was sacrificing himself for, it may have been for the fifty inmates at the jail. Perhaps Luke was sacrificing his stomach to stimulate the small economy in the prison, since everyone seemed to be profiting in some form after his challenge. • 40. Reasons for Devotion to Hindu Goddesses Reasons for devotion to Hindu goddesses Hinduism portrays feminine divinity in a more exalted way than most other religions do. Though Hindu goddesses are usually depicted as consorts, wives or companions to a Hindu god, cases exist in which they are worshipped independently; Tantrism for example, where it is believed that women posses more spiritual power than men, thus men can achieve divinity through union with a woman ( Tantrism ). Most villages reinforce the mother aspect of goddesses and worship them individually as their protector, regarding them as having originated in the area and thus being tied to the health and prosperity of the village (Caldwell). Others who may devote themselves to a goddess might be in order to conquer or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kali then proceeds to kill all the asuras in a frenzied manner, later offering the heads of their leaders Chanda and Munda to Durga. Her second appearance is in the follow chapter, where she battles Raktabija, and assures success by sucking all of his blood so he could not reproduce anymore, per Durga s command, while she slayed him ( Devimahatmya ch. 7 8). Another myth ties Kali with Parvati, telling of an army of demons that threatens the safety of the world. Men cannot slay them, and so Shiva calls for his wife to aid them in battle. Parvati accepts the responsibility, swallowing the poison stored in Shiva s throat and morphing into Kali. However, she becomes too drunk with the poison and, after defeating all the demons, threatens to destroy the world herself with her berserk dance. In an attempt to subdue his wife, Shiva then lays on the floor in front of Kali, who in her delirious state does not notice his presence and steps on him. Shamed that she had showed such disgraceful behavior, she bites her tongue in humiliation. The last scene of the above tale is illustrated in a lot of imagery, and while the tale itself has a lot of variations, many Hindus will arrive at the same resolution. It is in this perception that many contradictions lie. Another question rises, What does Kali s tongue biting really mean? Most Hindus will claim that it is to show shame, which is what the action means in Bengali culture, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Quality Of Life And Health Organization Background: Currently, quality of life (QOL) as a measure of individuals subjective feelings on various aspects of life and health is regarded as an important concept. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines QOL as an individual s perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns (World Health Organization, 1997). To evaluate the extent of QOL, the WHOQOL Group developed an assessment instrument called WHOQOL BREF, (WHOQoL Group, 1998; World Health Organization, 1996) a shortened, 26 item instrument. In Bangladesh (six studies), Izutsu et al. developed and validated the Bangla version of the WHOQOL BREF in an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Methods: Study subjects and settings: This special population based cross sectional study was conducted in Sreepur, Narayanganj and Mirpur under Dhaka division. Dhaka division was chosen for having higher concentration of RMG factories than other EPZ of Bangladesh. Twenty eight garment factories were randomly selected. Nine garment factories confirmed their participation. After confirmation following the inclusion criteria, a list of the male and female RMG workers was collected from each of the factory. The study participants were recruited following the simple random sampling procedure. The data collection period was from November to December 2015. Inclusion and exclusion criteria: The study population consisted of both male and female. The selection criteria were i) age of the respondents ≥18 years; ii) have at least 10 years of work experience in RMG sector. Pregnant women, physically disable persons, not willing to participate, less than 10 years of working experiences and females who did not work in garment factory for more than 6 months because of pregnancy were excluded from the study. Participants were informed about the purpose and the procedure of the study and were requested to attend the screening procedure. Among them 18 individuals (5 males and 13 female) excluded from the study following ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Differentiate between the significance of the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation and the significance of the subscripts in a chemical formula. · Coefficients show the correct proportions of atoms and molecules in a chemical reaction. They are normal sized numbers placed at the beginning of the chemical formulas in a chemical reaction during the process of balancing. They tell how many of an entire chemical formula is in a reaction. · Subscripts show the correct proportions of atoms/ions in a chemical formula. They are the small numbers within the chemical formula. They tell how many individual atoms/ions are present. 2. State the Law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 7. What is plasma? · Plasma has neither a definite volume nor a definite shape. · Plasma is often seen within ionized gases. · Plasma is distinct from a gas because it possesses unique properties: o It contains free electrical charges (not bound to atoms or ions) o It can be produced by heating and ionizing a gas. · Plasma is often found in areas of the planet/universe where extremely high heats are possible and gases exist to help create the plasma. 8. Put hydrogen bonds, dispersion forces and dipole dipole forces in order of how strong they are and give an example of each type of attraction. · Strongest = Hydrogen bonds which have hydrogen attached to a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen (Example: Oxygen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of H2O s) · Medium Strength = Dipole Dipole bonds which occur between the slight positive end of one polar molecule and the slight negative end of another polar molecule (Example: Nitrogen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of NH3 s) · Weakest = Dispersion forces which occur in any covalently bonded molecule (Example: Hydrogen s attraction to other hydrogens in a bunch of CH4 s) Ø Note 1: These are intermolecular forces of attraction so they occur OUTSIDE of the molecules! Ø Notes 2: One covalent bond can be all three types at once. 9. Why do polar compounds tend to have higher melting boiling points than nonpolar compounds? Polar compounds have electrostatic ...
