Pros And Cons Of Holocaust Denial
Over 70 years ago, one of, if not the, darkest and most evil events in human history began. Starting in 1941 and ending in 1945, up to about 11 million
people (including 6 million Jews), who were deemed 'sub–human' by the Nazi regime of Germany, were systematically rounded up and exterminated
by various means. These means included but were not limited to gas chambers, deliberate starving, and mass shootings carried out by paramilitary
groups affiliated with the Nazis and SS (Schutzstaffel), such as the Einsatzgruppen. The holocaust is one of the best documented events in history.
Despite this, many people choose to deny the holocaust. I will be disproving many of the arguments used by holocaust deniers.
Holocaust denial is a vehicle for Neo–Nazism and Nazi apology. Holocaust denial (often called holocaust revisionism) is the belief that what we know
as the holocaust (the systematic murder of approximately 6 million Jews) is greatly exaggerated if not totally incorrect. Holocaust deniers believe that
the number of Jews killed is closer to approximately 500 000 and that they weren't deliberately killed through means such as gas chambers or mass
shootings but were killed (unintentionally) by starvation, disease, and Allied bombing. Holocaust deniers deny the holocaust in an attempt to bring the
Nazi regime, and Hitler himself, into favourable light. To the relatively uninformed layman, holocaust denial can sometimes appear to be an apolitical
attempt to "correct" or "revise"

The Holocaust Denial
Growing up, people learn about the past of their own kind and of the world they live in. One reads history in books, hears history from parents, and
studies history at schools. Knowing the history of one's ancestors allows one to understand the past and change for a better future. Significant battles,
civil movements, and reformations teach people valuable lessons and help the society to improve. The Holocaust, one of the most well–known history
events, represents a perfect historical example of discrimination and racism. However, a number of people started to deny the known facts of the
Holocaust and even the event itself. Despite of what these people say and how convincing their reasons are, this piece of history is to be protected from

The Holocaust was inhuman. "The IMT defined crimes against humanity as ' murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation...or persecutions on
political, racial, or religious grounds'" (Trials). Murder, extermination, persecutions all occurred during the Holocaust. Nonetheless the Nazis tried
to hide what was going on in Germany. After Soviet Union's attack in eastern Belarus, the Germans began moving all the prisoners in every
concentration camp in Europe. The Nazi did not want the public, especially the Allies, to know the stories in these camps. They viewed these
prisoners as labors and bargain chips (Death Marches) and treated those poor men and women's lives as dust under their feet. They kept the
prisoners alive only because they were "hostages", and Germans needed those labors to work for them in order to continue fighting the war; in short,
the prisoners were still useful to the Nazis. Fortunately, no matter how hard the Germans tried to cover up their crimes, the Allies found enough
evidence for the trial after World War II. After the Allied troops captured the concentration camps, the survivors testified and provided evidence for
British officials to use on the trials of Nazi war criminals (Testimony). The Allies sentenced the criminals guilty, executed many of the high ranking
Nazi officers, and officially ended the bloody chaos. In the last few decades, a wave of

Holocaust Denial
Introduction Even though Holocaust denial was not a new–fangled phenomenon in Germany at the end of the 1980s, it was not before this period that
it was given such public attention. For the duration of the late 1980s and near the beginning of the 1990s Germany became the arena for perhaps the
most combined push for promotion that the Holocaust denial interest group has ever tried. Besides the annual conferences of the Society for
Historical Review in California, Holocaust deniers did not and by and large still do not, habitually become visible together at gatherings.
Additionally, in no other country have Holocaust deniers linked so often and so openly with the political far right as they did in Germany in the late
1980s and early on in the 1990s. Scores of important German Holocaust deniers were affiliates of German far right parties, together with every
German Holocaust denier observed in the current thesis. Additionally, a lot of the rallies and functions which both local and foreign deniers addressed
were planned by far right political parties with by other groups on the right extreme of the political scale. Starting as a sequence of restricted
engagements (distinguished for their sovereignty, most early deniers made no attempt to create ties between one another), deniers at the outset forged
no meticulous identity outside of the political stadium. To a certain extent, they were by now and effortlessly particular for their explicit anti–Semitism
and deep right–wing

Imma Grese Is Evil
Irma Grese: Why She Was So Evil Was Irma Grese as bad as the survivors from Auschwitz made her out to be, or were there two interpretations to
her brutality? Although Irma Grese hadn't spent much time being an SS Officer (SS is short for Schutzstaffel, which is German for "protective
shield"), Grese chose to be cruel and sadistic toward the female prisoners. Irma Grese had been a savage in ways that most people can't even imagine.
The way that she treated the prisoners from the Concentration Camps is completely atrocious. Grese was just one of many female SS Officers but, she
was definitely one of the most cold–blooded human beings whose actions were recorded in history. Very little was known about Irma Grese leading up
to her initiation to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this period of her life Grese had become a unmerciful person with her cruel and ruthless actions toward the prisoners in Bergen–Belsen. Irma
Grese had received many different nicknames throughout the course of her time as an officer, including "Beautiful Beastess", "Blond Angel of Death",
"Blond Angel From Hell", and "Hyena of Auschwitz". An anonymous inmate from the Bergen
–Belsen Concentration Camp said that, "Grese was very
beautiful and extremely evil". There are several reasons as to how Grese acquired her nicknames. Some of those being that she would carry a whip
and a pistol with her at all times and enjoyed shooting prisoners in cold–blood. Irma Grese would also pick people of her sexual interest to endure the
gas chambers that would kill the prisoners. A specific incident that occurred is one of which a previous prisoner, Szafran, had recited during an
interview that said at Auschwitz during a selection two girls jumped out of a window and Irma Grese had shot them while they were lying on the
ground, but of course Grese would deny the accusation of shooting any prisoner whilst at the

Examples Of Survivor's Guilt
Survivor's Guilt
Survival –– the term conjures up thoughts of primal instinct. Doing whatever it takes in order to survive. The term can also bring to mind thought of
wars or battles where the people who were still left standing were the survivors. In the context of this essay, the term will be used to define the select
group of people who managed to continue their physical existence, either through determination or simple happenstance, where the rest of their friends
or family members did not. These people are called survivors because they survived the horrors of the Holocaust, and it is true –– their bodies were
still intact when the liberation came. What about their minds?

In Borowski's short story, the narrator is a Jewish prisoner living in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The main reason that this character is still alive
is because he has taken on work as a member of a forced labor gang called Kommando "who helped to unload the incoming transports of people
destined for the gas chambers" (Borowski). The narrator keeps himself fed by the scraps of food left behind on the trains full of new prisoners being
sent to their deaths; he is even forced to lie to the prisoners to tell them that they will be fine, so as not to incite anger or resistance. The narrator feels
remorse for his role in deceiving the incoming Jews and, unlike some of the other members on the Kommando, he hates himself for what he is doing.
The narrator is suffering from survivor's guilt a "term used to describe the feelings of those who...emerge from a disaster which mortally engulfs others"

Why Did Sindi Use Historical Revisionism?
Many anti–Zionists deny the Holocaust ever occurred with logical arguments. Academics such as Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Sindi argue that the
Holocaust was a Zionist myth on Radio Islam. The Swedish website intended to release this article so that people could at critically reexamine how the
Holocaust was executed. This Holocaust denial website logically argued the denial by refuting Zionism as well as utilizing historical revisionism. Dr.
Sindi must first be discussed, because Holocaust denial is generally unpopular through academics.
Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Sindi is a well–educated Holocaust denier that was a voice in academia that appeared legitimate. Sindi was born in Saudi
Arabia, but relocated to California in the 1960s and 1970s, where has got a BA, MA, and PhD at California universities. He completed of a PhD in
International Relations from the University of Southern California. He was later instructed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Then, he moved to the US where
he taught at Californian universities including, The University of California at Irvine, California State University at Pomona, Cerritos College, and
Fullerton College. Sindi's education shows his reliability to legitimize his arguments against the Holocaust to the general public.
This article denies the Holocaust by criticizing Zionism, which is seen by the writer as illegitimate and illegal. Zionism is publicly accepted, and the

The Importance Of Holocaust Revisionism
In 1990, during a poll conducted in a single state among a group of seniors in high school, it was found 50% of the students were unable to provide any
information about the Holocaust (Lang 2010). The idea that so many students are unaware of such a violent and heinous crime is incomprehensible. As
many students in high schools ask today, why is it important to learn about history? The answer is history provides society a way to look back and
evaluate previous mistakes. Particularly with the Holocaust, it is important to look back and identify warnings to prevent another Holocaust from
occurring. However, looking back is hard to do when Holocaust Revisionism is attempting to rewrite the history of the Holocaust. Therefore, Holocaust
Revisionism is a threat to societal morality by believing that the Jewish population holds immense international power and disregarding extensive
evidence of the Holocaust. Foremost, to fully develop this hypothesis a requirement is to understand what revisionism means, the Holocaust, and
societal morality. Revisionism, per the Bloomsbury Guide to Human Thought (1993), is "the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Society places importance on history to educate the masses on events that in many ways could have been prevented. When sitting in a history class,
students develop in–depth critical thinking skills that allow them to evaluate how and why the event occurred. As Holocaust Revisionists continue to
argue claims based on faulty logic and evidence the ability to disprove these claims to revisionists becomes harder and harder. If Holocaust
Revisionists succeeded in disproving the Holocaust, society would no longer be able to fully educate the next generation on how to prevent future
genocides. Being unable to discuss and learn about the Holocaust as a historical event undermines the foundations of society's morality by inhibiting
society's ability to prevent disastrous

Justice Gray Film Analysis
In the movie, Justice Gray remains very quiet, only speaking when necessary compared to reading the transcripts from the court. He asked questions
of clarification but also seems to have a harsher tone with Irving when he tries to expand his questioning on a matter that has already been debated in
much length. In the movie, it isn't until he gives his judgment that he plays a vital role, which is to be expected for a judge making a ruling on a
matter as important as this one. It was clear throughout the trial, both in real life and during the movie that the defense was not trying to put the
Holocaust on trial, but about putting Irving himself on trial. Irving countless times tried to use his "evidence" to prove that Hitler was a friend to... Show

In a New York Times article by Sarah Lyall (2000), Irving was splattered with a raw egg by a protester as he went to court in the morning (also
shown in the movie) and slipped out the back down after the verdict was read. He later told the Press Association that he, "found the ruling
"perverse" and "historically incredible."" He also accused Professor Lipstadt and Penguin, "of enlisting the help of the "the leaders of the Jewish
communities around the world" in an orchestrated effort to discredit him." (Lyall, 2000). Some believed that the trial was turning into a matter of free
speech and if the Holocaust had happened. Anthony Julius stated the case was not about whether the Holocaust took place, but whether there was any
evidence to support Mr. Irving's views (Lyall, 2000). Professor Lipstadt stated, "...I'm not attacking free speech. On the contrary, I've been defending
it against someone who wanted to abuse it. Freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want. What you can't do is lie and then expect not to
be held accountable for it. Not all opinions are equal, and some things happen, just like we say they do." (Denial,

Examples Of Denial Of The Holocaust
Denial of the Holocaust War is a monster, consuming everything in its path, with no sense of mercy or leniency. A creature of true chaos, it thrives
and feeds from the destruction of whatever it touches. Only to be continually fed by its inner demons, man, an even bigger evil than war itself. All in
all in true retrospect, man is war. Man powers the machinery, man leads the armies, and man deliberately kills man. Not only on the battlefield. When
war is present, it's everywhere. One of the biggest examples of this was the Holocaust. While men were out fighting, a different kind of war was
taking place. People all over were being killed for not being "fit enough" to live in Hitler's idea of a perfect world. Whether they were slaughtered in
concentration camps, or just shot outside of their homes, it happened. Denial of the Holocaust is illogical, because it tries to change one of the most
important and most painful parts of World War II's history and it's an insult to the many victims of the Holocaust and their families. Yet some people
still deny it to this day Adolf Hitler was born in Branau am Inn, Austria to Alois Hitler and Klara Polzi. At the age of three, he and his family moved to
Germany. Two of Adolf's... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Holocaust : The Dangers Of The Holocaust
Known as one of the most horrific events in history, World War II (WW2) caused tremendous adversity and suffering amongst the lives of people
across the globe. However, what is most concerning about the war, was what happened behind closed doors, specifically within Germany. The
Holocaust is still considered one the worst ethnic cleansing attacks in the world. Although there is an endless amount of research and hard evidence of
the Holocaust occurring, certain groups of individuals strongly reject it. Known as "Holocaust Denial", this conspiracy theory has always been
personally intriguing due to several reasons and will be analyzed more thoroughly.
To begin, before the initiation of WW2, Hitler enforced extremely strict policies on the country of Germany. For instance, Hitler emphasized amongst
the population, a clear divide between those who were Volksgenossen (pure German blood) and Gemeinshcaftsfremade (outsiders) (Adolf Hitler: Man
and Monster). Visible distinctions were forced to be worn by the latter group such as the Star of David on those who were Jewish (Adolf Hitler: Man
and Monster). The divide amongst the population was created mainly due to antisemitism which was extremely prevalent throughout the time. For
example, Jewish people were blamed for Germany's loss in WWI and in return, their businesses were boycotted, those who were lawyers got disbarred
from practicing and their German citizenship was revoked (Adolf Hitler: Man and Monster). Additionally, police

Holocaust Vs. The Auschwitz Gas Chambers
Holocaust Deniers vs. The Auschwitz Gas Chambers Were there really gas chamber at Auschwitz and were where they used for the mass
extermination of Jewish people? Many people around the world would say "Yes". During the middle of the twentieth century, one of the most horrific
displays of not only violence, but murder as well, was carried out and targeted at the Jewish community of Germany. This atrocity would later be
known as the Holocaust. With Hitler's anti–Semitic beliefs, Nazi Germany began looking upon the Jews as a contamination and the people began
calling the total extermination of the Jewish population. To begin carrying out this plan, the Nazis started building death institutions, also known as
concentration camps. In the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The arguments that are brought forth from deniers contain pieces of data that has been taken out of context and molded to prove their points and
beliefs. However, they will avoid any and all evidence that tries to disprove them. On April 27, 1941, the order was given to begin the building of
the largest and deadliest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz, in a town called Oswiecim (Smolen et al. 2). The Nazis began deporting the locals of
the town so that the camp would be as isolated as possible and to have somewhere to sleep. The locals were sent away without any kind of payment
for their homes or lands (Smolen et al. 3). It was then ordered that some three–hundred Jewish prisoners would be sent to begin construction of the
camp. By the time Auschwitz was completed, there were 28 two story buildings to house the prisoners. As time went on the need for another camp
arose. Camp Birkenau, later to be named Auschwitz II, was built about 3km. away and could house another 200,000 prisoners (Smolen et al. 4 and
5). The first experiment with gassing prisoners with Zyklon B took place in 1941. 250 sick inmates and 600 Soviet POWs were taken to the
basement of Block 11 at Auschwitz. With all subjects' dead in two days, the Nazis considered it to be a huge success (Gutman 157). With the gassing

Holocaust Denials And The Holocaust Denage
Holocaust Denial and the Harm it brings
Historical facts are typically viewed as the truth with the astounding amount of evidence present. For some Holocaust deniers however, certain
perceived "facts" are anything but the truth. Holocaust denial is the act of denying the Holocaust or the events surrounding the Holocaust in any way,
shape, or form. Often deniers will state claims stating Nazi authorities did not use extermination camps and gas chambers, the actual number of people
murdered was significantly lower than the historically accepted figure of around 6 million, and other horrifyingly illegitimate "facts". Holocaust denial
is much larger than simply the denial of the crime itself. Denying the existence, severity, and the weapons used in regards to the Holocaust should be
punishable by law because not only is this harmful to impressionable citizens alike; it also condones other more direct forms of anti–Semitism.
Although deniers generally do not accept the term denial as an appropriate description of their activities, they still continue to openly state that the
Holocaust is an exaggeration or a hoax arising out of a deliberate Jewish conspiracy. For this reason, Holocaust denial is generally considered to be an
anti–Semitic conspiracy theory, and is illegal in several countries. This particular form of hate speech is nothing other than a gateway to spreading
anti–Semitism to more impressionable citizens. Henry Elmer Barnes claimed Germany was the victim of

Denial of the Jewish Holocaust
Genocide is best described as "the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group." A major part of the
Holocaust genocide is denial. Holocaust denial is present in the United States, Europe, and Canada. These people, known as "revisionists" try to deny
the extermination of six million Jews during World War II. The revisionists claim that there are no documents to provethe holocaust actually existed (
Holocaust Denial n. pag). "The Holocaust, like evolution, is robustly supported and generally accepted by all but a fringe minority, but it must
nevertheless be continually tested, regularly revised, and constantly improved" (Shermer n. pag). The attempt to refute the genocide against the Jews
has been a very widespread anti–semitic indoctrination using the arguments of extermination, testimonies, and the Nuremberg trials.
A frequent argument that revisionists use is the extermination of Jews. They claim that there is no proof of a plan to exterminate the Jewish race.
Most people that are educated on the holocaust realize that during the war, no one acted as if anything were happening. If millions of Jews were
being murdered, why would everyone just stand by? Revisionists believe that it is because it never happened. "The final solution" is said to be an
evacuation program. A program that sought out to resettle and deport Jews in order to evacuate Europe. Through the program, millions of Jews were
boarded onto trains and moved to

Holocaust Denial is the belief that the Holocaust is false and didn't ever happen, the 3 main theories that Holocaust Deniers believe prove that the
Holocaust did not in fact happen are that the 'Gas Chambers' where not used for Mass Murder, the 'Final Solution' was actually an order to Deport the
Prisoners and not to exterminate them, and the number of Jews Murdered is Significantly lower than 5–6 Million. The Evidence against these
assumptions greatly over weigh the Evidence support these absurd and obnoxious Theories, aside from the evidence thousands of people worldwide

General Overview of the Topic
The course of history serves as an influential bridge that connects the past with our education, future, and perspectives on crucial issues. In public
education, history is a school subject that is taken by a large population of students, and although authors and historians are working to create content
with less bias, the course is bound to present subjectivities. Such examples include the neglect towards the Soviet era war crimes in Eastern European
countries or the lack of attention given to the Nanking Massacre in Japanese textbooks. These misleading alterations of historical content can often
cause the minds of youths to lack important facts and instead be distorted with false information. Thus, in order for society to achieve incremental

Holocaust : The World War I
Holocaust Denial
During World War I Adolf Hitler served his country which the defeat of his country lead him to blame the Jews. Hitler after the war joined the
National Socialists German Workers' Party, which was known to the English as Nazis. In 1923 he wrote his memoir "Mein Kampf" which translates
to my struggles, in which Hitler expressed his obsession for the idea of a perfect Aryan race. January 20, 1933 was when Hitler was named the
chancellor of Germany. The first concentration camp that Adolf opened was Dachau in March of 1933 which was under control of Heinrich Himmler.
In November of 1938 is a night remembered as Kristallnacht because the Jewish synagogues were burned, shop windows were smashed and close to
100 Jews were arrested or killed. Jewish people began to flee while those who didn't suffered from the fear of what happened. In 1939 the German
Police had forced over tens of thousands of Jews into ghettos that were surrounded by high walls with barbed wire on the top. Later that year, over
70,000 Jews who were deemed unfit were gassed to death in what the Nazis called a Euthanasia Program. In 1941 was when the Nazi officers began
making the Jews wear a yellow star to help identify them. The idea of using Zyklon–B came from testing done on over 500 Soviet prisoners of war. In
the late 1941 was when Germany began mass shipment of Jews to the concentration camps. The elderly and those who were weak and young were the
first taken to the camps. Auschwitz–Birkenau

Defining and Interpreting Holocaust Denial
What is Holocaust Denial? Holocaust Denial is the belief or assertion that the Holocaust did not happen or was greatly exaggerated. Though many
consider the Holocaust a monumental historic event, "Holocaust Denial" and conspiracy theories surrounding this event exist in today's modern
society. Although it may sound like a simple topic, Holocaust Denial is more complex than it seems. There are multiple aspects that make a theory or
topic, and that is the case Regarding Holocaust. In this essay I will explore and explain what Holocaust Denial is and common theories and their
creators. The difference between today's theories and how they differ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each person or group of people have their own outlook and view on the subject. Attorney Edgar J. Steele believes that the Holocaust was a hoax. He
supported his opinion by stating " All those pictures of skinny people and bodies stacked like cordwood were actually Czechs and Poles and
Germans [who] died of typhus, which was rampant in the camps. * Many other political leaders in the Middle East also believe the Holocaust was
a "scam". They think that it was a way for the people of the Jewish community to get sympathy, money, and land (Israel). Ernest Zuendel, who is a
revisionist, is known for his hated of Jews and his opinions on the Holocaust. His book The Hitler We Loved and Why expands upon his views
where he describes Hitler in a light in which majority of the world would disagree. Robert Faurisson is also a revisionist who supports Holocaust
Denial. Towards the beginning of his career he wrote all of his essays and statements in private. They were sold and distributed privately due to the
fact that Holocaust Denial is illegal in Germany and he would arrested. Once he gained more confidence and followers, he began publishing his book
and bringing them to the light. Other unnamed revisionists do not necessarily believe that the Holocaust did not occur, but believe that the numbers
surrounding the number of people who died or who were taken to concentration camps were extremely exaggerated. The previously stated "theory" is

David Irving's Denial Of The Holocaust
It is arguable for various reasons that David Irving may be considered a historian regardless of his denial of the Holocaust. Under the definition of
what makes a historian (i.e. someone who is a scholar, has had their works published, etc.) Irving fits the description. David Irving, as a historian, has a
strong focus on the German military, not the Holocaust. Irving's morality is definitely questionable based on the remarks he has made, but he has not
published anything specifically on the Holocaust and he has claimed that he does not consider himself "a historian of the Holocaust". Irving has also
stated that he considers himself "as a biographer of top Nazis". One discussion that plays in heavily with the debate regarding whether or not Irving
may be considered a historian is whether or not his works are being censored through the widespread banning of his publications. I personally believe
that in this case this is censorship. Much of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned before, Irving's works have a sole focus on the German military, not the Holocaust. As long as Irving does not publish anything
inaccurate like his beliefs, he may remain a historian. When it comes to morality, I personally do not believe that you have to agree with someone's
beliefs in determining whether or not they may be considered a historian, especially because Irving isn't even a historian of the Holocaust. Irving's
denial of the Holocaust does make him questionable as a source, but based on our readings it is suggested that the reasoning behind this is that Irving
has blatantly neglected to look at documents that include proof of the Holocaust. It has also been stated that Irving had eventually acknowledged the
occurrence of the Holocaust based on a document he had read, although his timing was

The Holocaust And The Extermination Of The Holocaust
''Imagine hiding days/ months in a basement because of your race. Imagine being taken away from your house in the middle of the night. Imagine
a four years old being given up by his family for a better future. Imagine your mom being killed because she is not productive to the society and
your dad being forced to hard labor, including moving dead bodies of people from a place to another, for years. Imagine doing this and knowing
that this one day can happens to you.'' . This was the Holocaust. The holocaust is known as the extermination of 6 millions of Jews by the Nazis
during Hitler dictatorship. It all began when Hitler was given the opportunity by Hindenburg to be Germany's chancellor on January 30, 1933. This
opportunity turned in an abuse of power, in fact Hitler governed Germany according to his belief. Hitler, and the Nazis more in general, strongly
believed in the German biological superiority. According to the article '' Before Germans Slaughtered Jews They Slaughtered Africans'', a mixed
society in Germany was seen as a threat to the national's identity. Jews, in particular, were considered sub–human. For this reason, under Hitler's Nazi
regime, they were treated as animal or way differently from Germans. But the separation occurred gradually; in fact, at the beginning of his
governance, Jews had to leave their homes and were placed in assigned ghettos where little or no food was available to them. As months passed,
ulterior separations occurred. Old

Holocaust Denial and Distortion Essay
"One is astonished in the study of history at the recurrence of the idea that evil must be forgotten, distorted, skimmed over. The difficulty, of course,
with this philosophy is that history loses its value as an incentive and example; it paints perfect men and noble nations, but it does not tell the truth."
–W.E.BDu Bois, Black Reconstruction, 1935
As early as age thirteen, we start learning about the Holocaust in classrooms and in textbooks. We learn that in the 1940s, the German Nazi party (led by
Adolph Hitler) intentionally performed a mass genocide in order to try to breed a perfect population of human beings. Jews were the first peoples to
be put into ghettos and eventually sent by train to concentration camps like Auschwitz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Hajime Tokuno describes it, "Deniers have subjugated science, in this case historical science, to a political agenda, creating a pseudoscience called
Holocaust Denial" (Tokuno 2).
The problem with both of these claims, and history in general, is that unless someone is actually at an event experiencing something, he or she has
no way of knowing exactly what went on at a given time and date. If a person needs to rely on sources other than themselves to learn the past, a
primary source needs to be the first place looked. Speaking with a Holocaust survivor, seeing a picture from Nazi Germany at this time, or reading
the diaries like that of a girl hiding from the Gestapo allows for the closest possible link from today to the days of the past. These items are the ones
that will tell the story closest to the truth, and are the ones that need to be trusted. Holocaust deniers will tend to believe what they hope to be true, or
what is beneficial for their case, even if it does not historically match up.
In order to fully comprehend exactly what is being disputed by these Holocaust deniers, it is necessary to first have all the facts of what the general
population accepts as truth. In basic terms, six million Jews were intentionally annihilated between

Validity Of The Holocaust Denial
Holocaust deniers know they won't be believed if they just outright deny that the holocaust happened at all, so instead, they decided they would take the
stance that the holocaust happened but not to the extreme degree that people claim it to be. Most scholars believe holocaust denial started because of
issues with Israel, anti–Semitism, and skepticism of the widely accepted history. Holocaust denial has been going on since the holocaust began. It would
be incredibly difficult for me to convince you that the holocaust never happened, but it would be much easier for me to undermine the validity of what
you think you know about the holocaust. The name "Holocaust Deniers" can actually work in favor of the people trying to discredit the holocaust.
They claim instead that they are not holocaust deniers, just trying to have an honest debate about what happened during the holocaust. Then they can
make the claim that they aren't extremists because they don't deny the whole holocaust. The use vagueness as a tool against facts, the minute they get

David Irving's Denying The Holocaust
It's hard for someone who is a Jew and who had extended family die during the Holocaust wrap their brain around the idea that there are people, even
in 2017 who believe that the Holocaust did not happen. Despite the massive amounts of evidence, survivor testimony, and the most famous diary to be
published through the eyes of Anne Frank who ended up dying during WWII, there is a population who still try to find ways to discredit the
Holocaust. I can only imagine how survivors of the Holocaust felt in the 1990's and early 2000's when David Irving, a self proclaimed historian sued
Professor Deborah E. Lipstadt a Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University for libel. Her life's work was to

Pelt stats, "Zyklon–B was introduced in that Leichenkeller by means of wire mesh columns which above ground were capped with a kind of
introduction device, a chimney like introduction device." (Trial Transcripts, 2000). In the movie they show a simulation room of what the gas
chambers would have looked like along with providing drawings from an artist by the name of David OlГ©re a survivor of Auschwitz who was
able to draw what he saw after the war had ended. In the movie Irving compares the OlГ©re drawings to the simulation and questions the meaning of
how the pillars came up through the roof, this is the same during the trial. Irving asks the question "What does it mean when it says that the pillars

hollowness; further explaining the crystals of Zyklon–B were dispensed into the gas chambers. In the movie Irving suggests that the chimney or pillars

Deborah Lipstadt, author of Denying the Holocaust: the Growing Assault on Truth and Memory, recently gave a TED Talk entitled "Behind the Lies of
Holocaust Denial" about her experience with being chosen to write the book, conducting the research for it, and enduring the libel lawsuit against her
that resulted. The book addressed Holocaust deniers, those who insist the Holocaust didn't occur, and her speech mainly addressed how truth and facts
are, as she put it, "under assault" (Lipstadt 11:58). The fifteen–minute impassioned speech employed the three persuasive strategies: Logos, by using
straightforward facts; Ethos, by being established a well–respected author and college professor; and Pathos, by appealing to emotion through... Show

Toward the end of her speech when discussing whether or not everything is open to debate, Lipstadt refers to the idea that there are "indisputable facts,
objective truths," such as Galileo's insistence that the earth revolved around the sun (Lipstadt 14:07). Deborah Lipstadt's authority on the subject of
Jewish history showcases the persuasive strategy of Ethos because she is presented as a trustworthy messenger. She was an assistant professor of
Near Eastern Studies at UCLA from 1979 to 1985 before becoming an associate professor of religion and later Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish
and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta. In 1994, President Clinton appointed Lipstadt to the United States Holocaust Memorial
Council. Already a published author and columnist for The Jewish Spectator (Moore), Lipstadt talked in her TED Talk about being approached by
two respected historians of the Holocaust who asked her to work on a project that included researching Holocaust deniers (Lipstadt 2:28). This
research resulted in the book Denying the Holocaust: the Growing Assault on Truth and Memory, which was published in 1993 and received the

Holocaust Denial Conspiracy Essay
The Holocaust Denial Conspiracy
Fear can lead people to believe nothing is as it seems and draw their own conclusions about political issues exaggerating or altering the "truth";
"everybody wants to believe that everything is not random and that somebody has control" (Katel 893). Conspiracy theories emerge from the
necessity of explaining rare events or apparent coincidences, and its bases are mainly fear and distrust of government and leadership. Not all
conspiracies are harmless, and since they spread so easily and quickly, they might represent a threat to the society (Katel 901). The first American
conspiracy, for instance, was introduced in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, when 20 women and men were executed since people accused them of
being witches (Katel 893). As long as people feel frightened, they would act irrationally appealing to support conspiracy theories. In this case, fear is
not the only motivation to believe in conspiracies, but also hate is an important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Still, their proofs are neither valid nor credible; indeed some data is often created by them. Plenty of publications of the Holocaust denial constitute a
danger to the society due to the fact that they are constructing an imaginary scenario. The Holocaust denial is misleading the true information and
deceiving the population; people falling for conspiracies begin conspiratorial thoughts distrusting the real facts.
"A conspiracy that can deceive us about 6,000,000 deaths can deceive us about anything, and then it takes a great leap of faith for Holocaust
Revisionists to believe World War II happened at all, or that Franklin Roosevelt did serve as President from 1933 to 1945, or that Marilyn Monroe was
more 'real' than King Kong or Donald Duck" (Basham 98).

The Importance Of Free Speech
Who are the guardians of free speech? Is it our elected members of parliament in Ottawa? Is it our university student activists? The answer may
surprise you. The University of Oxford's Dahrendorf Programme hosted a debate to discuss whether or not the practice of "noplatforming" is a
legitimate tool of activism. While those in favour were passionate in their defence of the practice, they failed to establish its legitimacy. The question
of who gives the activists a mandate to control the information being presented to the student body was largely ignored. Those in favour argued that
free speech is hypothetical and the marginalized must be protected. Chi Chi evoked John Stewart Mill's harm principle, in that the harm done by
allowing people with a hateful or bigoted message justifies no–platforming. The example she gave was Germaine Greer's 2015 visit to Cardiff
University. Students had protested the visit because of Greer's views on transgendered women but were unsuccessful. Greer's position, stated Chi Chi,
"takes away the personhood of trans people." The issue with this statement 1 is that the harm done is subjective, and may be seen by others as merely
irritating. Barnaby was next to argue in favour of no–platforming , suggesting the inversion of power dynamics will position some people above the
marginalized, and must therefore be challenged. His belief is that free speech does not consider power relations. The last to speak on this side was
Sisway. His main point was that by using no–platforming activists are seeking to change the agenda of universities in order to contest fascism and
racism at the root. Once again it is not established why activists should have an exclusive power to decide what viewpoints can and cannot be seen by
other students. The side against no–platforming began with Monica, and a conciliatory tone. Child pornography, she stated, was an example of a
subject unworthy of a platform. However, noplatforming "fails to differentiate between harm and discomfort."2 The harm done is therefore subjective.
Charlie then stated that no–platforming was counterproductive as it does not decrease harm because content continues to be exposed through
discourse. No–platforming becomes "a dangerous

"Analyse, evaluate and compare the techniques used to dim the horror of the real life events discussed in the novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

The Holocaust was a distressing time in history and is not a story everyone can absorb. Both the book, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas written by
John Boyne and the film, Life is Beautiful, directed by Robert Benigni, are based upon the real life events of the Holocaust but with a difference.
They made clever use of different techniques to dim and censor the reality of the events and interpret it in a more tolerable way. The Boy in the

"You have to score one thousand points. If you do that, you take home a tank with a big gun."
These factors contribute to the next technique: innocence. This technique is heavily portrayed in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas but is also shown in
Life is Beautiful. Because of the perspective of a nine year old, there are many accounts of misunderstanding and obliviousness. For example, innocence
is demonstrated through Bruno's mispronunciation of words such as Auschwitz and The FГјhrer (Hitler); instead, he alters them into "Out–With" and
"The Fury." This shows Bruno's unawareness that Auschwitz is actually a slaughterhouse built especially for the Jews and that The FГјhrer is the
leader of the Nazi Party, the one who started all this. Life is Beautiful contains a slightly different version of innocence. Guido uses his childlike
innocence and imagination to protect his own son's innocence. This is shown particularly well when Guido uses this game (in the camp) to explain
features of the concentration camp, for instance, when Guido explains to his son that "The guards are mean only because they want the tank for
themselves."
Another significant technique used (particularly for Life is Beautiful) is humour. Robert Benigni made clever use of humour in contrast to the reality
of The Holocaust as demonstrated by Guido in a comical scene where Guido 'rescues' Dora from her wedding party on his uncle's horse that had been
vandalised by fascists. When

Why The Holocaust Was A Myth?
Why is the Holocaust denied to this day despite the evidence? The Holocaust was the largest genocide of the twentieth century and is one of the most
well–documented events in history. But even with all the evidence, the holocaust is still denied to this day. People who deny the Holocaust ignore the
evidence and believe the Holocaust was a myth. So why exactly do people say that the holocaust was a myth? Is it because it was to terrible to admit it
actually happened? Or do people really think it actually didn't happen? According to an article on The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
website, Holocaust deniers believe the event is a myth invented by the Allies, the Soviet communists, and the Jews for their own reasons. They believe
that if you can discredit one fact about the holocaust then you can discredit the whole thing. Some will say that since there is not one document
outlining the holocaust or a signed document signed by Hitler ordering the holocaust, that it was all a hoax. Historians have estimated the number of
Jews killed in the holocaust to about 5.1 and 6 million based on historic resources and demographic studies, but deniers see these numbers as an
exaggeration. The key denial statements that people make are: that the murder of estimated six million Jews during World War II never occurred, the
Nazi's had no official policy or intention to exterminate the Jewish population, and that the poison gas chambers in Auschwits–Birkenau death camp

This literary work truly shows how Anne Frank was a martyr of racism and an insightful chronicler of her time period and place. The work also shows
the typical adolescence of Anne
Frank and her constant arguments with her mother in particular. It also deals with the day to day hiding she and her family went through. The only
problem with the book is that the fact that Anne Frank rewrote her diary about two months before she was captured because she wanted her journal
to be published after the war and she wanted to peruse a career in journalism. Therefore it is hard to tell what existed in her original copy and how
much did she add afterwards. This tells us that we will never know how much knowledge Anne Frank possessed. It is not the information that should be
questioned, but the chronology. Anne Frank's diary is an invaluable historical account. The book shows no detail on what was re–written, maybe

Holocaust Denial In History
Many mass killings have surprisingly or unsurprisingly have occurred in human history, but not many think just how long ago they have occurred and
some happened closer when put into prospective. The Holocaust was a systematic persecution and murder of six million Jews during World War II
committed by the Nazi regime. It is one of the most tragic moments in history and yet, claims that something so tragic had never occurred. Holocaust
denial is the denial that the events of the Holocaust had never been committed for reasoning that ranges from anti–semitic views to claims of it being
nothing but propaganda spread by the Allies to give the Axis a damaged reputation. Holocaust denial is often being described as "new anti–semitism"
by some scholars due to the fact that it " recycles many of the elements of pre–1945 anti–semitism in a post–World War II context," (United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum, Origins of Holocaust Denial). Regardless of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holocaust denial began with nazi's themselves. After nazi concentration and death camps were infiltrated and attacked, whoever was left as a
survivor would deny their wicked plots, plans, and actions. Generally nazi's kept little written down to avoid being discovered by the public and
enemy forces. During the attack on their camps, documentation and evidence was already in the process of being destroyed. Regardless there was
plenty of documents to go against them that related directly to the killing program and all noted to have been stamped Top Secret in German. Code
names were also noted to have been in use, different ones to trigger different actions to go with the orders. Another notable origin of Holocaust denial
are the hopes to attract a new nazi movement. According to Deborah Lipstadt, some deniers "claimed that Hitler was the best friend the Jews had in
Germany, and that he actively worked to protect them," (Lipstadt,

The Representation Of Denialing Of Dreams In Fences By...
A teenager who lives his life in fear of his father, not knowing if he is ever liked. A brother who is determined that his brother his always upset with
him. Life is supposed to be about pursuing one's own dreams, not letting others down for the decisions. Even in the 1950's, the representation of denial
of dreams has been represented because African Americans lived in a time period where they were not accepted because of their skin color.
Specifically through major league sports, and stereotypes that they were not the right fit for this career, refusing them even though they have grown up
wanting to live up to the dream. As one may know, Satchel Paige, a famousMajor League baseball player during the 1930's had many struggles in
lifetime career. Such as, being denied to play baseball, but later becoming known for his talent as he approached the Negro League. Because of this,
it allows one to realize that even though one may deny a dream, it does not mean one cannot continue to strive for their goal. Life also has bumps in
the road with struggles which might put a halt on an idea or even completely destroy it all together. Making mistakes is just one part of the problem
but, reflecting one's action on another loved one is the other piece to the issue. One cannot simply live life always being held back by others because it
makes it difficult to fulfil a lifelong dream. Throughout the actions displayed in Fences, August Wilson applies characterization through the refusal of

The Holocaust
Hidden under conspiracy, doubt, and denial, the truth of what really happened during the Holocaust has been revealed through an immense amount of
investigation and research. Nazis were essentially ordered to exterminate Jewish existence from the face of the earth, and created an aim to finish off
the Jews in Europe by either gassing, shooting, or even starving them to death. There have been claims from deniers that these stories were only
conspiracy theories made by the Jews to justify their atrocious claims. However, there is in fact a lot of evidence to suggest that the Holocaust actually
happened and that people were killed mercilessly by the Nazis. Much of said information, Rudolf Höss is responsible for getting out into the world.
The term Holocaust denial refers to the act of denying established facts concerning the genocide of Jews in the Holocaust during World War II. In
"What is 'Holocaust Denial'?" by Barbara Kulaszka, she wrongfully claims that Rudolf Höss's memoirs was extracted by torture and severe threats
to his family. Rudolf Höss's memoirs however, explains how during this time period he was an eyewitness to the history of the Nazi conduction of
the Final Solution and how he experienced both sides of it at an intermediary position between those who ordered the murder of millions, and those
who actually performed the murder itself. Despite Kulaszka's claim, Höss's memoirs are reliable because of multiple eye witness accounts, physical

The Denial Of The Holocaust Is A Myth
The Holocaust was the time when Hitler ordered the killing of innocent people in Europe. Thousands of Jews were killed just because they didn't
belong and no one wanted them in their homeland. They were tortured physically and mentally, and their lives were ruined. So why do people deny
that the Holocaust even happened? Some people don't know about the Holocaust, but some people today say that the Holocaust is a lie. People also say
the number of Jews killed was exaggerated and the Holocaust is a myth. The question is Why? The percent of people who believe that the number
of Jews killed in the Holocaust varies between age groups and religious groups. Hindus and Muslims were most likely to believe that the number of
Holocaust deaths is exaggerated followed by Christians and Buddhists. 30% of all religions combined believe the Holocaust is a myth. "Holocaust

The Role Of Luck In Maus II : A Survivor's Tale
Luck seems to influence many parts of people's lives. However, without making smart choices at the right time, luck does not happen just by chance. A
graphic novel written by Art Spiegelman, Maus II: A Survivor's Tale, is about the author's father as a Holocaust survivor in the twentieth century.
Throughout the whole story of Maus II, the role of resourcefulness in survival is presented repeatedly. When the author's father, Vladek, was in
Auschwitz, there were several moments where he was about to be killed. In such circumstances, resourcefulness played much larger role than luck,
and it helped him to stay alive. Specifically, Vladek's ability to save for future, to find work and to trade kept him alive in Holocaust. Therefore,
people who survived were mostly the resourceful ones, not the ones who were randomly chosen.
Although luck does play a role in the novel, the major factor that kept Vladek alive was his resourcefulness. Particularly, his ability to save items for
the future really helped him to stay alive during the Holocaust. When Vladek was on a crowded train, Vladek used the saved thin blanket they had
given him, and "climbed to somebody's shoulder and hooked it strong" above the other passengers in the train. This helped Vladek to "rest and
breathe a little," because he did not need to fight for space to stand on the ground anymore (85). Moreover, the blanket allowed him to reach snow off
of the train's roof. The snow kept him hydrated, and he was able to

Holocaust Denial
The Holocaust, the systematic extermination of 11 million Jews and other minorities during World War 2, was an occurrence caused by human
brutality and cruelty. Today, there is a wide variety of evidence including first person accounts, literature, images and other physical evidence from
camps including Auschwitz–Birkenau and other death camps. Despite this evidence, there are still people to date who believe that the Holocaust did not
take place, or that what is said to have taken place was exaggerated. This belief is formally known as Holocaust Denial or Distortion. People who
believe in this ideology are called Holocaust deniers, or revisionists. This belief originated during the Holocausts with the Nazi's. One main belief ...

They believe that the accusation against Nazis for committing genocide against millions of Jews is part of an "elaborate hoax". " Slickly produced
videos purport to show that concentration camps like Auschwitz and Birkenau were recreational facilities, not death camps." (Lasson) Facts were
distorted in an attempt to conceal or outright deny the events that took place inside Auschwitz and Birkenau, one of the most notorious death camps in
the Holocaust. The real evidence, was denied and said to be forged. Fabricating these videos would set the foundation to deny the true purpose of the
Nazis, to exterminate the Jews. Although first person accounts by survivors and even Germans including Rudolf Hoess admitting to the extermination
of Jews and other prisoners in the concentration camps exist, David Irving, a British Historian and probable Holocaust denier, claims "that Auschwitz
was not a death camp but merely "the most brutal of all Himmler's slave labor camps and the one with the highest mortality rate." (Rosenbaum) Irving
is attributing the high mortality rate in the camp not to the systematic extermination of prisoners in gas chambers but to disease, starvation, and
difficult labor, factors which the Nazis were not directly responsible for, in his eyes.

Pros And Cons Of Holocaust Denial

  • 1. Pros And Cons Of Holocaust Denial Over 70 years ago, one of, if not the, darkest and most evil events in human history began. Starting in 1941 and ending in 1945, up to about 11 million people (including 6 million Jews), who were deemed 'sub–human' by the Nazi regime of Germany, were systematically rounded up and exterminated by various means. These means included but were not limited to gas chambers, deliberate starving, and mass shootings carried out by paramilitary groups affiliated with the Nazis and SS (Schutzstaffel), such as the Einsatzgruppen. The holocaust is one of the best documented events in history. Despite this, many people choose to deny the holocaust. I will be disproving many of the arguments used by holocaust deniers. Holocaust denial is a vehicle for Neo–Nazism and Nazi apology. Holocaust denial (often called holocaust revisionism) is the belief that what we know as the holocaust (the systematic murder of approximately 6 million Jews) is greatly exaggerated if not totally incorrect. Holocaust deniers believe that the number of Jews killed is closer to approximately 500 000 and that they weren't deliberately killed through means such as gas chambers or mass shootings but were killed (unintentionally) by starvation, disease, and Allied bombing. Holocaust deniers deny the holocaust in an attempt to bring the Nazi regime, and Hitler himself, into favourable light. To the relatively uninformed layman, holocaust denial can sometimes appear to be an apolitical attempt to "correct" or "revise" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Holocaust Denial Growing up, people learn about the past of their own kind and of the world they live in. One reads history in books, hears history from parents, and studies history at schools. Knowing the history of one's ancestors allows one to understand the past and change for a better future. Significant battles, civil movements, and reformations teach people valuable lessons and help the society to improve. The Holocaust, one of the most well–known history events, represents a perfect historical example of discrimination and racism. However, a number of people started to deny the known facts of the Holocaust and even the event itself. Despite of what these people say and how convincing their reasons are, this piece of history is to be protected from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Holocaust was inhuman. "The IMT defined crimes against humanity as ' murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation...or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds'" (Trials). Murder, extermination, persecutions all occurred during the Holocaust. Nonetheless the Nazis tried to hide what was going on in Germany. After Soviet Union's attack in eastern Belarus, the Germans began moving all the prisoners in every concentration camp in Europe. The Nazi did not want the public, especially the Allies, to know the stories in these camps. They viewed these prisoners as labors and bargain chips (Death Marches) and treated those poor men and women's lives as dust under their feet. They kept the prisoners alive only because they were "hostages", and Germans needed those labors to work for them in order to continue fighting the war; in short, the prisoners were still useful to the Nazis. Fortunately, no matter how hard the Germans tried to cover up their crimes, the Allies found enough evidence for the trial after World War II. After the Allied troops captured the concentration camps, the survivors testified and provided evidence for British officials to use on the trials of Nazi war criminals (Testimony). The Allies sentenced the criminals guilty, executed many of the high ranking Nazi officers, and officially ended the bloody chaos. In the last few decades, a wave of ... • 3. Holocaust Denial Introduction Even though Holocaust denial was not a new–fangled phenomenon in Germany at the end of the 1980s, it was not before this period that it was given such public attention. For the duration of the late 1980s and near the beginning of the 1990s Germany became the arena for perhaps the most combined push for promotion that the Holocaust denial interest group has ever tried. Besides the annual conferences of the Society for Historical Review in California, Holocaust deniers did not and by and large still do not, habitually become visible together at gatherings. Additionally, in no other country have Holocaust deniers linked so often and so openly with the political far right as they did in Germany in the late 1980s and early on in the 1990s. Scores of important German Holocaust deniers were affiliates of German far right parties, together with every German Holocaust denier observed in the current thesis. Additionally, a lot of the rallies and functions which both local and foreign deniers addressed were planned by far right political parties with by other groups on the right extreme of the political scale. Starting as a sequence of restricted engagements (distinguished for their sovereignty, most early deniers made no attempt to create ties between one another), deniers at the outset forged no meticulous identity outside of the political stadium. To a certain extent, they were by now and effortlessly particular for their explicit anti–Semitism and deep right–wing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Imma Grese Is Evil Irma Grese: Why She Was So Evil Was Irma Grese as bad as the survivors from Auschwitz made her out to be, or were there two interpretations to her brutality? Although Irma Grese hadn't spent much time being an SS Officer (SS is short for Schutzstaffel, which is German for "protective shield"), Grese chose to be cruel and sadistic toward the female prisoners. Irma Grese had been a savage in ways that most people can't even imagine. The way that she treated the prisoners from the Concentration Camps is completely atrocious. Grese was just one of many female SS Officers but, she was definitely one of the most cold–blooded human beings whose actions were recorded in history. Very little was known about Irma Grese leading up to her initiation to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this period of her life Grese had become a unmerciful person with her cruel and ruthless actions toward the prisoners in Bergen–Belsen. Irma Grese had received many different nicknames throughout the course of her time as an officer, including "Beautiful Beastess", "Blond Angel of Death", "Blond Angel From Hell", and "Hyena of Auschwitz". An anonymous inmate from the Bergen –Belsen Concentration Camp said that, "Grese was very beautiful and extremely evil". There are several reasons as to how Grese acquired her nicknames. Some of those being that she would carry a whip and a pistol with her at all times and enjoyed shooting prisoners in cold–blood. Irma Grese would also pick people of her sexual interest to endure the gas chambers that would kill the prisoners. A specific incident that occurred is one of which a previous prisoner, Szafran, had recited during an interview that said at Auschwitz during a selection two girls jumped out of a window and Irma Grese had shot them while they were lying on the ground, but of course Grese would deny the accusation of shooting any prisoner whilst at the ... • 5. Examples Of Survivor's Guilt Survivor's Guilt Survival –– the term conjures up thoughts of primal instinct. Doing whatever it takes in order to survive. The term can also bring to mind thought of wars or battles where the people who were still left standing were the survivors. In the context of this essay, the term will be used to define the select group of people who managed to continue their physical existence, either through determination or simple happenstance, where the rest of their friends or family members did not. These people are called survivors because they survived the horrors of the Holocaust, and it is true –– their bodies were still intact when the liberation came. What about their minds? By comparing the writings of Tadeusz Borowski's short story "This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Borowski's short story, the narrator is a Jewish prisoner living in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The main reason that this character is still alive is because he has taken on work as a member of a forced labor gang called Kommando "who helped to unload the incoming transports of people destined for the gas chambers" (Borowski). The narrator keeps himself fed by the scraps of food left behind on the trains full of new prisoners being sent to their deaths; he is even forced to lie to the prisoners to tell them that they will be fine, so as not to incite anger or resistance. The narrator feels remorse for his role in deceiving the incoming Jews and, unlike some of the other members on the Kommando, he hates himself for what he is doing. The narrator is suffering from survivor's guilt a "term used to describe the feelings of those who...emerge from a disaster which mortally engulfs others" ("Survivor Guilt..."). • 6. Why Did Sindi Use Historical Revisionism? Many anti–Zionists deny the Holocaust ever occurred with logical arguments. Academics such as Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Sindi argue that the Holocaust was a Zionist myth on Radio Islam. The Swedish website intended to release this article so that people could at critically reexamine how the Holocaust was executed. Sindi was born in Saudi Arabia, but relocated to California in the 1960s and 1970s, where has got a BA, MA, and PhD at California universities. He completed of a PhD in International Relations from the University of Southern California. He was later instructed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Then, he moved to the US where he taught at Californian universities including, The University of California at Irvine, California State University at Pomona, Cerritos College, and Fullerton College. Sindi's education shows his reliability to legitimize his arguments against the Holocaust to the general public. This article denies the Holocaust by criticizing Zionism, which is seen by the writer as illegitimate and illegal. • 7. The Importance Of Holocaust Revisionism In 1990, during a poll conducted in a single state among a group of seniors in high school, it was found 50% of the students were unable to provide any information about the Holocaust (Lang 2010). The idea that so many students are unaware of such a violent and heinous crime is incomprehensible. As many students in high schools ask today, why is it important to learn about history? The answer is history provides society a way to look back and evaluate previous mistakes. Particularly with the Holocaust, it is important to look back and identify warnings to prevent another Holocaust from occurring. However, looking back is hard to do when Holocaust Revisionism is attempting to rewrite the history of the Holocaust. Therefore, Holocaust Revisionism is a threat to societal morality by believing that the Jewish population holds immense international power and disregarding extensive evidence of the Holocaust. Foremost, to fully develop this hypothesis a requirement is to understand what revisionism means, the Holocaust, and societal morality. Revisionism, per the Bloomsbury Guide to Human Thought (1993), is "the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Society places importance on history to educate the masses on events that in many ways could have been prevented. When sitting in a history class, students develop in–depth critical thinking skills that allow them to evaluate how and why the event occurred. As Holocaust Revisionists continue to argue claims based on faulty logic and evidence the ability to disprove these claims to revisionists becomes harder and harder. If Holocaust Revisionists succeeded in disproving the Holocaust, society would no longer be able to fully educate the next generation on how to prevent future genocides. Being unable to discuss and learn about the Holocaust as a historical event undermines the foundations of society's morality by inhibiting society's ability to prevent disastrous ... • 8. Justice Gray Film Analysis In the movie, Justice Gray remains very quiet, only speaking when necessary compared to reading the transcripts from the court. He asked questions of clarification but also seems to have a harsher tone with Irving when he tries to expand his questioning on a matter that has already been debated in much length. In the movie, it isn't until he gives his judgment that he plays a vital role, which is to be expected for a judge making a ruling on a matter as important as this one. It was clear throughout the trial, both in real life and during the movie that the defense was not trying to put the Holocaust on trial, but about putting Irving himself on trial. Irving countless times tried to use his "evidence" to prove that Hitler was a friend to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a New York Times article by Sarah Lyall (2000), Irving was splattered with a raw egg by a protester as he went to court in the morning (also shown in the movie) and slipped out the back down after the verdict was read. He later told the Press Association that he, "found the ruling "perverse" and "historically incredible."" He also accused Professor Lipstadt and Penguin, "of enlisting the help of the "the leaders of the Jewish communities around the world" in an orchestrated effort to discredit him." (Lyall, 2000). Some believed that the trial was turning into a matter of free speech and if the Holocaust had happened. Anthony Julius stated the case was not about whether the Holocaust took place, but whether there was any evidence to support Mr. Irving's views (Lyall, 2000). Professor Lipstadt stated, "...I'm not attacking free speech. On the contrary, I've been defending it against someone who wanted to abuse it. Freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want. What you can't do is lie and then expect not to be held accountable for it. • 9. Examples Of Denial Of The Holocaust Denial of the Holocaust War is a monster, consuming everything in its path, with no sense of mercy or leniency. A creature of true chaos, it thrives and feeds from the destruction of whatever it touches. Only to be continually fed by its inner demons, man, an even bigger evil than war itself. All in all in true retrospect, man is war. Man powers the machinery, man leads the armies, and man deliberately kills man. Not only on the battlefield. When war is present, it's everywhere. One of the biggest examples of this was the Holocaust. While men were out fighting, a different kind of war was taking place. People all over were being killed for not being "fit enough" to live in Hitler's idea of a perfect world. Whether they were slaughtered in concentration camps, or just shot outside of their homes, it happened. Denial of the Holocaust is illogical, because it tries to change one of the most important and most painful parts of World War II's history and it's an insult to the many victims of the Holocaust and their families. Yet some people still deny it to this day Adolf Hitler was born in Branau am Inn, Austria to Alois Hitler and Klara Polzi. At the age of three, he and his family moved to Germany. Two of Adolf's... • 10. The Holocaust : The Dangers Of The Holocaust Known as one of the most horrific events in history, World War II (WW2) caused tremendous adversity and suffering amongst the lives of people across the globe. However, what is most concerning about the war, was what happened behind closed doors, specifically within Germany. The Holocaust is still considered one the worst ethnic cleansing attacks in the world. Although there is an endless amount of research and hard evidence of the Holocaust occurring, certain groups of individuals strongly reject it. Known as "Holocaust Denial", this conspiracy theory has always been personally intriguing due to several reasons and will be analyzed more thoroughly. To begin, before the initiation of WW2, Hitler enforced extremely strict policies on the country of Germany. For instance, Hitler emphasized amongst the population, a clear divide between those who were Volksgenossen (pure German blood) and Gemeinshcaftsfremade (outsiders) (Adolf Hitler: Man and Monster). Visible distinctions were forced to be worn by the latter group such as the Star of David on those who were Jewish (Adolf Hitler: Man and Monster). The divide amongst the population was created mainly due to antisemitism which was extremely prevalent throughout the time. For example, Jewish people were blamed for Germany's loss in WWI and in return, their businesses were boycotted, those who were lawyers got disbarred from practicing and their German citizenship was revoked (Adolf Hitler: Man and Monster). The Auschwitz Gas Chambers Holocaust Deniers vs. The Auschwitz Gas Chambers Were there really gas chamber at Auschwitz and were where they used for the mass extermination of Jewish people? Many people around the world would say "Yes". During the middle of the twentieth century, one of the most horrific displays of not only violence, but murder as well, was carried out and targeted at the Jewish community of Germany. This atrocity would later be known as the Holocaust. With Hitler's anti–Semitic beliefs, Nazi Germany began looking upon the Jews as a contamination and the people began calling the total extermination of the Jewish population. To begin carrying out this plan, the Nazis started building death institutions, also known as concentration camps. In the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, they will avoid any and all evidence that tries to disprove them. On April 27, 1941, the order was given to begin the building of the largest and deadliest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz, in a town called Oswiecim (Smolen et al. 2). The Nazis began deporting the locals of the town so that the camp would be as isolated as possible and to have somewhere to sleep. The locals were sent away without any kind of payment for their homes or lands (Smolen et al. 3). It was then ordered that some three–hundred Jewish prisoners would be sent to begin construction of the camp. By the time Auschwitz was completed, there were 28 two story buildings to house the prisoners. As time went on the need for another camp arose. Camp Birkenau, later to be named Auschwitz II, was built about 3km. away and could house another 200,000 prisoners (Smolen et al. 4 and 5). The first experiment with gassing prisoners with Zyklon B took place in 1941. 250 sick inmates and 600 Soviet POWs were taken to the basement of Block 11 at Auschwitz. • 12. Holocaust Denials And The Holocaust Denage Holocaust Denial and the Harm it brings Historical facts are typically viewed as the truth with the astounding amount of evidence present. For some Holocaust deniers however, certain perceived "facts" are anything but the truth. Holocaust denial is the act of denying the Holocaust or the events surrounding the Holocaust in any way, shape, or form. Often deniers will state claims stating Nazi authorities did not use extermination camps and gas chambers, the actual number of people murdered was significantly lower than the historically accepted figure of around 6 million, and other horrifyingly illegitimate "facts". Holocaust denial is much larger than simply the denial of the crime itself. Denying the existence, severity, and the weapons used in regards to the Holocaust should be punishable by law because not only is this harmful to impressionable citizens alike; it also condones other more direct forms of anti–Semitism. Although deniers generally do not accept the term denial as an appropriate description of their activities, they still continue to openly state that the Holocaust is an exaggeration or a hoax arising out of a deliberate Jewish conspiracy. For this reason, Holocaust denial is generally considered to be an anti–Semitic conspiracy theory, and is illegal in several countries. This particular form of hate speech is nothing other than a gateway to spreading anti–Semitism to more impressionable citizens. Henry Elmer Barnes claimed Germany was the victim of ... A major part of the Holocaust genocide is denial. Holocaust denial is present in the United States, Europe, and Canada. These people, known as "revisionists" try to deny the extermination of six million Jews during World War II. The revisionists claim that there are no documents to provethe holocaust actually existed ( Holocaust Denial n. pag). "The Holocaust, like evolution, is robustly supported and generally accepted by all but a fringe minority, but it must nevertheless be continually tested, regularly revised, and constantly improved" (Shermer n. pag). The attempt to refute the genocide against the Jews has been a very widespread anti–semitic indoctrination using the arguments of extermination, testimonies, and the Nuremberg trials. A frequent argument that revisionists use is the extermination of Jews. They claim that there is no proof of a plan to exterminate the Jewish race. Most people that are educated on the holocaust realize that during the war, no one acted as if anything were happening. If millions of Jews were being murdered, why would everyone just stand by? Revisionists believe that it is because it never happened. "The final solution" is said to be an evacuation program. A program that sought out to resettle and deport Jews in order to evacuate Europe. In public education, history is a school subject that is taken by a large population of students, and although authors and historians are working to create content with less bias, the course is bound to present subjectivities. Under the definition of what makes a historian (i.e. someone who is a scholar, has had their works published, etc.) Irving fits the description. David Irving, as a historian, has a strong focus on the German military, not the Holocaust. Irving's morality is definitely questionable based on the remarks he has made, but he has not published anything specifically on the Holocaust and he has claimed that he does not consider himself "a historian of the Holocaust". Irving has also stated that he considers himself "as a biographer of top Nazis". It all began when Hitler was given the opportunity by Hindenburg to be Germany's chancellor on January 30, 1933. This opportunity turned in an abuse of power, in fact Hitler governed Germany according to his belief. Hitler, and the Nazis more in general, strongly believed in the German biological superiority. According to the article '' Before Germans Slaughtered Jews They Slaughtered Africans'', a mixed society in Germany was seen as a threat to the national's identity. Jews, in particular, were considered sub–human. For this reason, under Hitler's Nazi regime, they were treated as animal or way differently from Germans. • 29. The Importance Of Free Speech Who are the guardians of free speech? Is it our elected members of parliament in Ottawa? Is it our university student activists? The answer may surprise you. The University of Oxford's Dahrendorf Programme hosted a debate to discuss whether or not the practice of "noplatforming" is a legitimate tool of activism. While those in favour were passionate in their defence of the practice, they failed to establish its legitimacy. The question of who gives the activists a mandate to control the information being presented to the student body was largely ignored. Those in favour argued that free speech is hypothetical and the marginalized must be protected. Chi Chi evoked John Stewart Mill's harm principle, in that the harm done by allowing people with a hateful or bigoted message justifies no–platforming. The example she gave was Germaine Greer's 2015 visit to Cardiff University. Students had protested the visit because of Greer's views on transgendered women but were unsuccessful. Greer's position, stated Chi Chi, "takes away the personhood of trans people." The issue with this statement 1 is that the harm done is subjective, and may be seen by others as merely irritating. Barnaby was next to argue in favour of no–platforming , suggesting the inversion of power dynamics will position some people above the marginalized, and must therefore be challenged. His belief is that free speech does not consider power relations. The last to speak on this side was Sisway. His main point was that by using no–platforming activists are seeking to change the agenda of universities in order to contest fascism and racism at the root. Once again it is not established why activists should have an exclusive power to decide what viewpoints can and cannot be seen by other students. The side against no–platforming began with Monica, and a conciliatory tone. Child pornography, she stated, was an example of a subject unworthy of a platform. However, noplatforming "fails to differentiate between harm and discomfort."2 The harm done is therefore subjective. Charlie then stated that no–platforming was counterproductive as it does not decrease harm because content continues to be exposed through discourse. No–platforming becomes "a dangerous ... This shows Bruno's unawareness that Auschwitz is actually a slaughterhouse built especially for the Jews and that The FГјhrer is the leader of the Nazi Party, the one who started all this. Life is Beautiful contains a slightly different version of innocence. Guido uses his childlike innocence and imagination to protect his own son's innocence. This is shown particularly well when Guido uses this game (in the camp) to explain features of the concentration camp, for instance, when Guido explains to his son that "The guards are mean only because they want the tank for themselves." Another significant technique used (particularly for Life is Beautiful) is humour. Robert Benigni made clever use of humour in contrast to the reality of The Holocaust as demonstrated by Guido in a comical scene where Guido 'rescues' Dora from her wedding party on his uncle's horse that had been vandalised by fascists. • 31. Why The Holocaust Was A Myth? Why is the Holocaust denied to this day despite the evidence? The Holocaust was the largest genocide of the twentieth century and is one of the most well–documented events in history. But even with all the evidence, the holocaust is still denied to this day. People who deny the Holocaust ignore the evidence and believe the Holocaust was a myth. So why exactly do people say that the holocaust was a myth? Is it because it was to terrible to admit it actually happened? Or do people really think it actually didn't happen? According to an article on The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website, Holocaust deniers believe the event is a myth invented by the Allies, the Soviet communists, and the Jews for their own reasons. They believe that if you can discredit one fact about the holocaust then you can discredit the whole thing. Some will say that since there is not one document outlining the holocaust or a signed document signed by Hitler ordering the holocaust, that it was all a hoax. Historians have estimated the number of Jews killed in the holocaust to about 5.1 and 6 million based on historic resources and demographic studies, but deniers see these numbers as an exaggeration. The key denial statements that people make are: that the murder of estimated six million Jews during World War II never occurred, the Nazi's had no official policy or intention to exterminate the Jewish population, and that the poison gas chambers in Auschwits–Birkenau death camp never ... • 32. Character Development In Frances Goodrich's Diary Of Anne... Throughout stories a lesson of some kind is taught and characters develop and grow. Diary of Anne Frank takes place during the Holocaust in Amsterdam. Since Anne and her family are Jewish they are hiding from the Nazis along with another family. Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett wrote the play based off of the diary that Anne kept while they were in hiding. While they are hiding Anne grows and changes. Anne Frank changes throughout the play because she matures and thinks about the world differently. Anne is childish in many ways at the beginning of the play. When they first start living together Anne often listens to Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan when they argue. Anne commented, "I have never seen grownups quarrel before. I thought only children ... Anne deliberates, "If you'd only look at it a part of a great pattern... that we're just a little minute," (431). She has grown up so much that she is able to look at all the horrible things being done and say that in the end, none of it matters. Her loved ones and her are inevitably going to be killed or are already being killed. She disregards it as being something that won't be important in a hundred or so years. Most kids her age would never think that their lives don't matter because they think the world revolves around them and she is incredibly mature to think the opposite of that. In another part of the play while Anne and her family are being taken away to be killed by the Nazis, Anne writes in her diary, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart," (434). For someone who is so young and who has been through what she has and still think that people really are good is amazing. Adults look back at the Holocaust and thought Hitler and the Nazis were awful people yet Anne lived through it and still believes that they really are good people. That is an amazing and beyond incredibly mature thing to think. Anne has become so much more mature by the end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Diary Of Anne Frank The Diary of Anne Frank is about a girl that kept a diary while hiding from Nazi's in Amsterdam for two years. The diary ends when the Nazi's found her and her family. Her whole family was killed in exception for her father. She was given the journal on her thirteenth birthday. She simply summarized her life for two years in this phenomenal journal. This journal was found after she was killed. The book was published in 1947. Twenty–five million copies were sold and it was written in fifty–four languages. Basically there have been a lot of reviews on this literary work. Many people have had a great deal of criticism over the Diary of Anne Frank. From great authors to simple students, all have had their own perspective and view on this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This literary work truly shows how Anne Frank was a martyr of racism and an insightful chronicler of her time period and place. The work also shows the typical adolescence of Anne Frank and her constant arguments with her mother in particular. It also deals with the day to day hiding she and her family went through. The only problem with the book is that the fact that Anne Frank rewrote her diary about two months before she was captured because she wanted her journal to be published after the war and she wanted to peruse a career in journalism. Therefore it is hard to tell what existed in her original copy and how much did she add afterwards. This tells us that we will never know how much knowledge Anne Frank possessed. It is not the information that should be questioned, but the chronology. Anne Frank's diary is an invaluable historical account. The book shows no detail on what was re–written, maybe because the information is not available. The answer to the question of whether or not Anne Franks Diary is a reasonable assessment is no because certain excerpts were taken beforehand.Review By Carrie Gorringe,Review. She meant to say that the Diary of Anne Frank was a good way to experience the Holocaust but at the same time there is a lot of missing information. She is trying to say that there must be critical facts that are not shown in the book due to that fact that it was rewritten shortly before her death and the fact that it was translated into ... • 34. Holocaust Denial In History Many mass killings have surprisingly or unsurprisingly have occurred in human history, but not many think just how long ago they have occurred and some happened closer when put into prospective. The Holocaust was a systematic persecution and murder of six million Jews during World War II committed by the Nazi regime. It is one of the most tragic moments in history and yet, claims that something so tragic had never occurred. Holocaust denial is the denial that the events of the Holocaust had never been committed for reasoning that ranges from anti–semitic views to claims of it being nothing but propaganda spread by the Allies to give the Axis a damaged reputation. Holocaust denial is often being described as "new anti–semitism" by some scholars due to the fact that it " recycles many of the elements of pre–1945 anti–semitism in a post–World War II context," (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Origins of Holocaust Denial). Regardless of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Holocaust denial began with nazi's themselves. After nazi concentration and death camps were infiltrated and attacked, whoever was left as a survivor would deny their wicked plots, plans, and actions. Generally nazi's kept little written down to avoid being discovered by the public and enemy forces. During the attack on their camps, documentation and evidence was already in the process of being destroyed. Regardless there was plenty of documents to go against them that related directly to the killing program and all noted to have been stamped Top Secret in German. Code names were also noted to have been in use, different ones to trigger different actions to go with the orders. Another notable origin of Holocaust denial are the hopes to attract a new nazi movement. According to Deborah Lipstadt, some deniers "claimed that Hitler was the best friend the Jews had in Germany, and that he actively worked to protect them," (Lipstadt, ... • 35. The Representation Of Denialing Of Dreams In Fences By... A teenager who lives his life in fear of his father, not knowing if he is ever liked. A brother who is determined that his brother his always upset with him. Life is supposed to be about pursuing one's own dreams, not letting others down for the decisions. Even in the 1950's, the representation of denial of dreams has been represented because African Americans lived in a time period where they were not accepted because of their skin color. Specifically through major league sports, and stereotypes that they were not the right fit for this career, refusing them even though they have grown up wanting to live up to the dream. As one may know, Satchel Paige, a famousMajor League baseball player during the 1930's had many struggles in lifetime career. Such as, being denied to play baseball, but later becoming known for his talent as he approached the Negro League. Because of this, it allows one to realize that even though one may deny a dream, it does not mean one cannot continue to strive for their goal. Life also has bumps in the road with struggles which might put a halt on an idea or even completely destroy it all together. Making mistakes is just one part of the problem but, reflecting one's action on another loved one is the other piece to the issue. One cannot simply live life always being held back by others because it makes it difficult to fulfil a lifelong dream. Throughout the actions displayed in Fences, August Wilson applies characterization through the refusal of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Holocaust Hidden under conspiracy, doubt, and denial, the truth of what really happened during the Holocaust has been revealed through an immense amount of investigation and research. Nazis were essentially ordered to exterminate Jewish existence from the face of the earth, and created an aim to finish off the Jews in Europe by either gassing, shooting, or even starving them to death. There have been claims from deniers that these stories were only conspiracy theories made by the Jews to justify their atrocious claims. However, there is in fact a lot of evidence to suggest that the Holocaust actually happened and that people were killed mercilessly by the Nazis. Much of said information, Rudolf HГ¶ss is responsible for getting out into the world. The term Holocaust denial refers to the act of denying established facts concerning the genocide of Jews in the Holocaust during World War II. In "What is 'Holocaust Denial'?" by Barbara Kulaszka, she wrongfully claims that Rudolf HГ¶ss's memoirs was extracted by torture and severe threats to his family. Rudolf HГ¶ss's memoirs however, explains how during this time period he was an eyewitness to the history of the Nazi conduction of the Final Solution and how he experienced both sides of it at an intermediary position between those who ordered the murder of millions, and those who actually performed the murder itself. Despite Kulaszka's claim, HГ¶ss's memoirs are reliable because of multiple eye witness accounts, physical remains of the camp, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Denial Of The Holocaust Is A Myth The Holocaust was the time when Hitler ordered the killing of innocent people in Europe. Thousands of Jews were killed just because they didn't belong and no one wanted them in their homeland. They were tortured physically and mentally, and their lives were ruined. So why do people deny that the Holocaust even happened? Some people don't know about the Holocaust, but some people today say that the Holocaust is a lie. People also say the number of Jews killed was exaggerated and the Holocaust is a myth. The question is Why? The percent of people who believe that the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust varies between age groups and religious groups. Hindus and Muslims were most likely to believe that the number of Holocaust deaths is exaggerated followed by Christians and Buddhists. 30% of all religions combined believe the Holocaust is a myth. • 38. The Role Of Luck In Maus II : A Survivor's Tale Luck seems to influence many parts of people's lives. However, without making smart choices at the right time, luck does not happen just by chance. A graphic novel written by Art Spiegelman, Maus II: A Survivor's Tale, is about the author's father as a Holocaust survivor in the twentieth century. Throughout the whole story of Maus II, the role of resourcefulness in survival is presented repeatedly. When the author's father, Vladek, was in Auschwitz, there were several moments where he was about to be killed. In such circumstances, resourcefulness played much larger role than luck, and it helped him to stay alive. Specifically, Vladek's ability to save for future, to find work and to trade kept him alive in Holocaust. Therefore, people who survived were mostly the resourceful ones, not the ones who were randomly chosen. Although luck does play a role in the novel, the major factor that kept Vladek alive was his resourcefulness. Particularly, his ability to save items for the future really helped him to stay alive during the Holocaust. When Vladek was on a crowded train, Vladek used the saved thin blanket they had given him, and "climbed to somebody's shoulder and hooked it strong" above the other passengers in the train. This helped Vladek to "rest and breathe a little," because he did not need to fight for space to stand on the ground anymore (85). Moreover, the blanket allowed him to reach snow off of the train's roof. The snow kept him hydrated, and he was able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Holocaust Denial Research Paper Holocaust Denial The Holocaust, the systematic extermination of 11 million Jews and other minorities during World War 2, was an occurrence caused by human brutality and cruelty. Today, there is a wide variety of evidence including first person accounts, literature, images and other physical evidence from camps including Auschwitz–Birkenau and other death camps. Despite this evidence, there are still people to date who believe that the Holocaust did not take place, or that what is said to have taken place was exaggerated. This belief is formally known as Holocaust Denial or Distortion. People who believe in this ideology are called Holocaust deniers, or revisionists. This belief originated during the Holocausts with the Nazi's. One main belief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They believe that the accusation against Nazis for committing genocide against millions of Jews is part of an "elaborate hoax". " Slickly produced videos purport to show that concentration camps like Auschwitz and Birkenau were recreational facilities, not death camps." (Lasson) Facts were distorted in an attempt to conceal or outright deny the events that took place inside Auschwitz and Birkenau, one of the most notorious death camps in the Holocaust. The real evidence, was denied and said to be forged. Fabricating these videos would set the foundation to deny the true purpose of the Nazis, to exterminate the Jews. Although first person accounts by survivors and even Germans including Rudolf Hoess admitting to the extermination of Jews and other prisoners in the concentration camps exist, David Irving, a British Historian and probable Holocaust denier, claims "that Auschwitz was not a death camp but merely "the most brutal of all Himmler's slave labor camps and the one with the highest mortality rate." (Rosenbaum) Irving is attributing the high mortality rate in the camp not to the systematic extermination of prisoners in gas chambers but to disease, starvation, and difficult labor, factors which the Nazis were not directly responsible for, in his eyes. ...
