Heart Reflection Paper
On Friday, March 30, 2012, I was pulled out of my sixth–grade reading class. When I got to the office my Great–Uncle was standing there with a very
strange look on his face. He proceeded to say "Aunt Linda Kay went to the doctors today and they found out she was having a heart attack and
rushed her to the emergency room. They took her to the catheterization laboratory and they figured out she would need a quadruple bypass." He
proceeded to tell me I would be staying with him and his wife. When I got to their house they explained that the doctors would be taking blood
vessels from her leg and attach them to her heart. At this point, I was crying almost inconsolably so they decided to try calling the hospital so I
could talk to her. We were joking on the phone just having a good time, she made it a point to reassure me that everything would be ok because she
had the number one heart surgeon on the east coast doing her surgery. At the end of that call, I knew it would not be ok because she said, "I love
you to brat", which she never said to me. Sadly, that was the last time I got to hear her voice. The next morning, my family and I prayed the doctors
would be able to help her.Thankfully, all her heart stents went in without a problem. One of the downsides to the surgery was that they had to put her
in a medically induced coma for a couple of hours. Sunday morning my family and I were pulled from church service due to a call that would change
our lives forever. She had a

O Pioneer Hardships
Hardships in O Pioneer During the middle to late 1800's, thousands upon thousands of Americans, as well as foreigners, flocked to the mid–western
part of the United States. They flocked to this area hoping to gain free or cheap land promised to them by the United States Government. Most of the
"pioneers" left cities and factory jobs to venture out into the American prairies and become farmers. They left their homes, not only because the land
was either free or cheap, but also because they wanted to leave the hardships of city life. However, as most would find out, prairie life had its' share of
hardships, that far out–reached the hardships of city life. Among these hardships were the death of siblings and friends due to starvation... Show more

After John died, the family divided the land into three parts. These three parts went to Alexandra, Lou, and Oscar. All three had difficulties within
the first couple of years. It even got to the point to where they were discussing the idea of leaving and going back home. They discussed this idea
because the land they were living on was not producing much for them and money was very hard to earn. Cather stated in Chapter two that John
Bergson "spent his first five years on the Divide getting into debt, and the last six getting out." After John died, the rest of the family took on the
responsibility of repaying this debt. However, by the end of the novel, the land had become very fertile and hearty and they were able to make a
living off of it. But most pioneers during this time were not so lucky. Some died of starvation. Some returned to the cities in which they came from.
Carl Linstrums family, in this story, had such bad luck with the land; they were forced to return to the city. Violence and crime was also a problem
for prairie dwellers. Most people in this area lived in seclusion, miles from the nearest town. Therefore there was no jurisdiction in these outer one or
two home communities. Because there was no jurisdiction, it was increasingly easier for people to commit crimes and get away with it. And most
times this

The Ethical Dilemma Of Music In Music And Music
A patient in acute care has culturally specific music because the family believes it will help the patient. The patient is not cognitively aware and there
are other patients in the room. This ethical dilemma questions whether or not the rehab assistant should let the family continue playing the music or to
stop since the patient is not cognitively aware and there are other patients in the same room. By asking the family to stop playing the music, conflict
may occur as the RA is disrupting their culture healing beliefs. Whereas if they continue to play the music, patients in the same room could become
agitated which can create problems between other patients and the family. As the duty of a culturally competent RA, we will try to accommodate the
patients needs where everyone is happy with the outcome while maintaining each patient's autonomy.
The first option is to change the genre of music from time to time. The advantage of this is to have a mixture of music so the other patient's in the
room aren't annoyed with repetitive and same language music. The disadvantage of this option is the family may get mad or upset as we are disrupting
their belief process and not taking their culture seriously if we consider changing the music from time to time. One principle is justice. If the family can
play their music then why can't the other patients too? There is no harm in changing the music (non–maleficence) but the family might be offended.
The second option is to play the music

Suffering In Sonny's Blues
Mama, a member of the oldest generation of the family, reveals that the suffering encountered throughout the story is nothing new, and rather has
been part of Harlem for as far back as we can trace. Mama realized the inevitability of suffering in Harlem, knowing all too well of "the darkness
outside", yet aimed to have a full and meaningful life despite this suffering (131). In order to do this, she turned to the suffering of her family,
particularly her husband's suffering over the death of his brother. Mama reveals just how much she did to prevent suffering within her home in her last
conversation with the narrator. One thing that she did in particular was that she gave her husband a shoulder to cry on: "I know you never saw your

While Mama was attentive, and able to recognize the struggles of her family, the narrator is seemingly blind to them. The beginning of "Sonny's
Blues" signals the narrator's awakening to his family's suffering. The narrator "[can't] believe it" when he read about Sonny's arrest on drug charges
and becomes faced with news Sonny's drug problem and arrest; he becomes "scared, scared for Sonny" (122). Sonny's arrest makes him "become
real to [the narrator] again." This signals the narrator's realization of the suffering of his brother. While the narrator makes this realization in the
beginning of the story, it is not until later in the story, while the narrator is struggling over the death of his daughter that he reaches out to Sonny. The
narrator's own suffering "made [Sonny's] real" (139). This shows that the narrator reaches out to Sonny largely in order to make sense of his own
suffering due to his daughter's death. As the story progresses, the narrator's past blindness to the suffering of his family becomes more and more
evident. The narrator says things such as "I had never really noticed it before," and "strange, suddenly, to watch, though I had been seeing...all my life"
when he is discussing Sonny's struggle with addiction, indicating his gradual realization of his previous blindness (141). Sonny's situation and the
narrator' grief over this blindness lead the narrator to take Sonny in and try to help Sonny work toward resolution of these issues. Much like his mother,
his purpose in life becomes understanding Sonny's struggle and attempting to prevent this suffering. In doing this, he also slowly begins to see
continued suffering rampant throughout his neighborhood. He begins to hear his student's laughter to be "mocking" and "insular" and realizes that his
students are also struggling (123). He also talks

Cypress Repip Research Paper
Cypress Repiping If you own an older home with leaky pipes, it may be time for a whole house Cypress repiping. Homes that were built during and
before the 1970s often had galvanized pipe installed throughout the system. Unfortunately, this piping material degrades and corrodes over time. You
may be seeing the results of it with leaky pipes, numerous blockages and water pressure issues. At some point, you will need the help of repipe

A common choice is to use copper for the main lines coming in and out of the house, then use a PEX or CPVC for the ipes that branch to fixtures
and in smaller spaces. The repipe specialists in Cypress can help you decide which choice would work best for your home. Doing the Work The
Cypress repiping specialists will need to access all the water lines in the house. They will work in tight spaces to reach most of the pipes. However,
there may be a need to open the walls in certain places to gain access to the pipes. Once the old pipes are out of the way, the plumbers will start
running new pipe through the walls to each fixture. During galvanized pipe replacement in Cypress, everything from the main lines to each outlet
is changed out. Once all the pipe is replaced, the plumbers will come back and patch the holes in the wall, then paint and smooth the surface. How
Long Does a Cypress Repipe Take A typical galvanized pipe replacement in Cypress takes between 3 and 5 days. However, the job may be longer in
some circumstances. For the most part, water will only be off for a few hours per day, allowing you and your family to remain in the home for most
jobs. Cypress Whole–House Repipe

My Favorite Family Traditions
Nia Lwanga
Describe one of your favorite family traditions and why it is meaningful to you. 500 words.
My favorite holiday traditions and querencias are Christmas cookie making and Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping are my. The word querencia has
the root of the word querer which is a spanish verb that means to desire and to want. A querencia is something one desires or something that makes on
feel safe, comforted and free. The first tradition that comes to mind is Christmas cookie–making. Around December 1st, the Christmas spirit begins to
spread my around house. Christmas songs slowly become more ubiquitous in our family playlists. Soon, every family member becomes a sycophant
and complements one another to ensure they receive the gift he or she wants. On Fridays when I don't have much homework after dance, my
family crowds around in the family room to watch "25 Days Before Christmas". As the cold white snow falls across the town and we would all
watch, warm and excited. My favorite part of Christmas is baking the cookies for "Santa". My aunt, mom, grandma and I bake cookies for the
entire family and two special ones for Santa. At this time we chat about gifts and shopping and share jokes. I loves this tradition because I love
cooking and most of all I love being with my aunt, mom and grandma all at once. I always feel compelled to take two spoons and scoop out extra
batter for myself while no one is looking. I cherish these family traditions because it is a time where my

Creative Writing: The Giver
I'm being shaken awake by Jonas the next morning.
"Hurry Lina, get up!" he says. I quickly get up and follow him outside in a rush almost tripping on the way out. When I stand outside I look around.
"What is happening?" I ask
"I'm not sure. I see Mrs. Rimas let's go see her, maybe she'll know," he says. As I look around again, everyone is already outside talking and the
NKVD are yelling at one another. We walk up to Mrs. Rimas, who is already outside talking with others. She is smiling and laughing for the first
time I've personally had the pleasure to see. She looks beautiful, reminding me of mother. "Will someone tell me what is going on?" I ask again as we
reach her "Why is everybody outside?"
"There is a ship coming!" Mrs. Rimas says "The Americans found out that the Soviets were taking us and are going all over Russia collecting people."

"Well how did everyone even find out?" I ask. I wonder, how did the soviets find out, and how did we find out? They would never have told us on

"The Soviets received a letter from the Americans saying they were coming and retrieving all the Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians to bring them to
America for safety." Mrs. Rimas continues, "One thing was clear in the letter, that if anyone was killed, hurt or hidden, they will attack Russia
alongside the Germans. The letter somehow was dropped and someone found it on the ground." Kretzsky, it had to be him. I look around for him, but
can't see him. I thought he had left, but it has to be him. No other NKVD officer would have been able to get the letter, and would have dropped it for

Comparing Thanksgiving and Christmas Essay
When I was younger, the two holidays I looked forward to were always Thanksgiving and Christmas. This time of the year always is the happiest
because everything feels so refreshing because I am spending quality time with the people I love most. When it comes to Thanksgiving and
Christmas, I always seem to have the most memorable good and bad moments. These holidays have very different meanings but have the same
feeling because it symbolizes, good food, good times with family and a whole lot of drama. When I think about Thanksgiving and Christmas, the first
thought that comes to mind is the good food. Every year my family and I prepare many homemade dishes to celebrate the holidays. For Thanksgiving,

Beside the food, the next best thing about the holidays, is the quality time that I get to spend with my family. My family is spread out all over the
United States; we do have family in Washington, Georgia, Ohio and Mississippi. Since we all in different states, we do not get to see one another
much. When my family comes together it is always really interesting because something always happens. Thanksgiving is usually the time when most
of the family comes together because nobody wants to miss grandma's award winning food. My grandmother has won several cooking contest when she
lived in the bay area. When the family comes around for Christmas, it is unforgettable because it does not happen all the time. The negative part
about the whole family getting together is that there is always some type of drama. When the family gets together, there is always a fight of some
kind because something is said to make someone mad. For some, this can be a stressful time but for others it is mere entertainment because the fights
are over the stupidest things. When family member fight at Thanksgiving, it is usually over the food. They fight because someone does not like what
was cooked, they did not get to cook, or they were just fashionably late. For Christmas, the fights are always because of the gifts. The person who

Christmas : The Greatest Festival Of The U. S. Festivals
Christmas is the greatest festival of the U.S. Festivals always bring happiness and preserve our culture and tradition. There are several types of
festivals celebrated in the U.S. Among them I like Christmas. It celebrates the end of each calendar. It has been known as the birthday of God Jesus
Christ. It is a holy day of the Christian religion. It is very popular because we can celebrate it with families, relatives, and friends. People are being
very busy on working, they do not have enough time to share love and affection with families. They wait for festivals to meet their families and friends.
Christmas is celebrated at end of every year. It is a festival of great delight, sharing, and bliss. Three reasons I like Christmas are spending time with
family, having time off from school and work and receiving gifts.
Spending time with family is the most valuable time for everyone. When the festival comes, people get together with the family and friends.
Christmas is the biggest festival of the year people celebrate it doing different activities. For instance, on this day, they decorate the pine tree and fur
with festival lights, bulbs, flowers, garlands and stars and sparkle lighting at home. They keep different Santa's snowmen and coming from riding
horse. Villages and cities are decorated with colorful lights. Most of the time, snow covers the ground and we build many snowmen and reindeer in
front of the home. They busy on doing the firing and champing, shopping and visiting

Family And Cultural Assessment Paper
Family/Cultural Assessment Paper The Purnell Domains of Culture assessment gives a vast amount of information in regards to a persons cultural
background, family and heritage that gives care provides a better understanding of their client or clients family. As a future care provider, I took the
time to speak to Mrs. Smith about herself and family to gain insight on whom they are as a family and what influences them to be who they are today.
Over the course of the domains of culture I have been able to increase my perception of who and what drives this family and how their beliefs came
about.
Assessment of the Purnell Domains of Culture
Overview of Family and Family Structure and Cultural Heritage When speaking to the Mrs. Smith about family and family structure I mainly
focused on the concepts of where they live and the effects it has on their family. This involves their country, current residence, topology, economics,
politics, education and occupation (NASN, 2013). Such topics give an inside look in regards to certain diseases and health factors that are more
prominent to or more acceptable to the population in that region and area of residence. As well as this, these concepts allow the more in depth in
understanding of diet, mental diseases, economic standing, and the families degree of assimilation or acculturation if there is any. I asked Mrs. Smith
where she was born and if she and her family have lived anywhere else. Her family is originally from Poland and

Behavioral Change Exercise Paper on High Temper, and Anger Issues with Screaming
At the beginning of the spring semester, when I read the syllabus for the Models of psychotherapy class assignments, the one that took my attention
was about behavioral change exercise. I thought, this exercise could help me through my high temper combined with my anger issues by screaming all
the time my family. In all my college experience this was the specific project I was really looking forward to complete. Not just for doing my
homework, but also because I was thinking this will be really beneficial for my family well been and my own harmony.
My behavior problem includes my high temper with anger issues including screaming at my family. Particularly towards my oldest sixteen–year–old
son and my youngest fourteen–year–old son. An example for a pattern on my behavior problem is the way my children answer to me or do not
answer at all, when I ask them to do their chores, or I ask them to do a specific task they do not do nothing or they ignore me. Their behavior towards
me is the turn on point just before my anger issues and my loss of patient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Narrative Essay On Dorothy Camp
One of the antagonists in my screenplay is Josh Camp's mother named Dorothy Camp. She is a skinny red headed woman with marble green eyes,
whose main objective is to make sure her son is successful in life. Her birthday is June 15th of 1977, which makes her a gemini. This is important
to note because she is constantly changing her mood and the way she decides to handle situations. She is aware that she is a Gemini and constantly
uses it as excuses for her bipolar lifestyle. Furthermore, she grew up during disastrous events such as the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and challenger
space shuttle disaster, which contribute to her stress and anxiety. As a young child, she didn't get a lot of attention from her parents because they were
always working in order to put food on the table. This made it difficult for her to get attached to anyone except a rich man named Richard Camp that
she met in her twenties. At the time, she didn't realize he was wealthy because of the way he dressed, presented himself, and his occupation. Currently,
she is married to him with two children that they decided to name Josh and Emily. Needless to say, themarriage changed Dorothy's entire life for the
better. For example, she used to live paycheck to paycheck in a one bedroom apartment in Nevada until she met Richard at one of the local grocery
stores. He was bagging her groceries unaware that he had bagged her heart. When Josh was born, she made a promise to herself that she would give
him all the attention and love that was physically possible. At times, her son hates it, but she thinks it's only because he is going through a faze. Every
once and awhile, she finds herself daydreaming about him at young age and their most memorable moments to date. Along with her clinginess, she
easily gets offended by the simplest comments. There was this one time, where her daughter said that she looked better in the color red compared to
blue and she literally didn't wear red for two years. When Emily commented about it, Dorothy acted like she didn't know what she was talking about.
Most of the family try to ignore it, but sometimes her reactions become everyone's problem. There was also this other time, where her husband
answered her

Two-Career Family Versus One-Career Family
Two–Career Family Versus One–Career Family
My paper will focus on the differences and the similarities between the two career families and one career families, and will give ideas regarding
which of the two is better in the development of the individual career.
There are various studies that focus on the career development of the individual and how the work is connected with the non–work lives of people.
There are divergent studies that show the strong relationship of family and work. It shows that the developmental needs of the family will produce
incomplete understanding regarding the career dynamics (Arthur & Hall 1989, p. 159).
One of the main differences between the two career family and the one career family is the focus on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of the women inside a two career family, will have the chance to go into what field they have chosen. By doing this, it can help them to
continue their learning process and continue to practice what they have learned. This circumstance can be noticed in the increasing number of women
that are entering the work force in different fields all over the world.
There are a few important factors that separate the two family set ups: the quality time, the roles and responsibilities, and the development of women
inside the family, as well as in the whole world. Two out of three factors can be considered as an advantage of the two career family. In terms of roles
and responsibilities, it does not follow the traditional way of the labor separation. In this, the husband and the wife, has the same level of commitment
in terms of home care and finances. One career family has the advantage in terms of the quality time, which is the most important aspect in a family,
because it focuses on the relationship, communication, and connection between the parents and the children.
In closing, there have been debates regarding which family life is better, which has been a focus of many studies and researches. There are many
different people and studies that show that the two career family is the most suitable set up in society, but there are still countless people that believe
having a one career family is still the best for the children.

As understandable as it may be, his work schedule, there needs to be a balance between work schedule and family time, quality time. This directly
ties to the second question of constructive family socialization. To me it is not enough to take the family out to eat when the time allows it and not
have this type of socialization. Nowhere in the study was this mentioned. It seems as if both John and Julia try to distract from the work routine
and spend some time with their children, which are a good thing, but there is no constructiveness in addressing possible changes that could benefit
the family better itself. For example, John being the one out of the home the most can be discussing a possible job change or decreasing the

I really enjoyed the movie A Raisin in the Sun. It follows a black family's struggle to reach their long anticipated dreams. These dreams, and the
struggles necessary to attain them, is one of the main focuses of the movie. The movie began with a husband, Walter, and wife, Ruth, fighting over
Walter's dream to make it in the business world by using an insurance check as a down payment on opening a liquor store. He believes that if someone
in the family would just listen to him and put forth their trust, his dreams would become a success. This episode illustrates a major conflict throughout

This cross made by the grandma symbolizes her recovery and snapshot of effortlessness as she has taken a gander at the Misfit and remembered

My Grandmother Is A Significant Figure Within My Life
When asked who I consider to be a significant figure within my life, the first to come to thought is my grandmother, Wanda Walden. My grandmother
has for many years been very influential in my life, whether from giving me advice or just being a strong shoulder to cry on when I need someone to
listen. Grandparents teach the lessons that parents have not grasped yet, and listening to Wanda has given me years of knowledge that I myself have
not received from personal experience. To be perfectly transparent about her, Wanda has always been a determined, tender
–hearted, and loved woman.
Although from a first glance she is seemingly a chipper and delightful granny with a stereotypical knack for couponing, Wanda is much more than that.
Growing up on a farm with six brothers and sisters, my grandmother knew what it meant to work and hold a family together. Wanda would tell me
stories about working in tobacco fields or helping feed the rest of her siblings whenever my great grandparents were out working. "Things were much
different back then," Wanda would tell me. "We had to get up early and do our morning chores, eat breakfast, and hurry off to school. Afterwards we
had to come home and work and by the time us kids were tired we still had homework." Hearing this made me feel as though my complaints about
chores and homework were nothing but tantrums.
My grandmother had plenty of work to do when she was a child because certain chores such as doing laundry and cooking required more

Time Management Essay
Time Management
Time management is a term that is used to describe ones use of productive time. Time management is all relative to the perception of the task needing
to be accomplished. Is the project long or short term? Is this something that needs to be done in a timeframe? Is this a personal goal or is it a demand
of a superior? Defining time management and applying it to my life has created some questions of how well I succeed as an employee, student,
mother and wife while creating a balance between obligation and time. My goals are to be the best person I can be for my family and myself. I try
to create family values by bringing the family together in many ways. Some of the ideas I have to encourage daily are creating meals ... Show more

It appears to be a non–constructive time. I had never thought about setting that time aside to ask myself, "what could I do with that part of my day
to be more efficient?" After consideration, I realized the time I am watching the news, I genuinely was planning my day and creating a detailed
map for each portion of the day. My job is divided into a split shift. The afternoons are spent at work and not with my family doing homework, bath
time and the necessary preparations for the next day. I feel disconnected from that part of my family's day. If I could work less or restructure the
end of my day, then that would create a connection and fulfill my family's needs. When I complete my academic/professional goals and receive my
college diploma then the adjustment in my profession will evolve naturally. To execute my plan efficiently and to become more accountable,
keeping a time log journal and taking personal time to write down my daily map instead of just reviewing it mentally. A visualization of the plan
will help in its execution. Reading the daily map aloud is another way I lock information into my memory. I would like to monitor my success and
remain on task by using a timer while keeping me aware of the time used, creating a short term goal. The timer also will create a sense of urgency to
get things accomplished without losing focus. Last, the development of a support system would encourage me to be successful. My support system

Roose Jones Chapter 3 Summary
Identifying Data: Ramsay Bolton, formerly known as Ramsay Snow, is the legitimized bastard of Roose Bolton. He is a northern white male in
Westeros, loyal to House Bolton, and, previously, House Stark. He and his father played a key role in the Red Wedding, a turning point in the war
of the five kings, in which they betrayed House Stark in favor of House Frey and Lannister. The Boltons were then named wardens of the North.
Ramsay is known for his sadistic tendencies, his affinity for torture and inflicting pain, as well as holding the ultimate goal of achieving power. He
took Sansa Stark as his wife, whom he raped and tortured before her escape, until she eventually returned and had him killed by his own hounds.

Theon Greyjoy of the Ironborn was captured in the north and tortured after he attempted to take over Winterfell. While imprisoned, Ramsey seems to
come to Theon's rescue, and tells him he will take him to safety. However, after taking him all around this unknown area, he brings him back to the
original area and tells the guards he caught him escaping. This is the beginning of Ramsay's compulsive lying given to the audience. He then
psychologically and physically tortures theon, playing guessing games, lying about his identity, inflicting pain, and keeping him from falling asleep.
Another cruel trick Ramsay plays is sending in naked women to try to seduce Theon, and make him comfortable, but then ramsay comes in and cuts off
his manhood, later making multiple jokes about it. This torture got to the point where Ramsay had total and utter control over Theon, stripping him of
all humanity. He decided to rename Theon "Reek", and beat him until he agreed that that was his new

Already Gone: The Key Character Prince Carter Essay
Long ago there was a kingdom unknown to the modern age. It was a time where magic existed and the earth was nothing but joy. The lands were
lush, the oceans were pure. It was a paradise! Everyone lived in serenity, there is no other time or kingdom like this. This is where people wanted to
live, this place was amazing! The rulers of this kingdom was King Orion, Queen Artemis and their son Carter, they were not selfish people, and they
were genuine kind people with warm smiles. And eyes filled with emotions and twinkles. Each royal family had powers and their powers would differ

Personal Narrative: Bowafo's Escape
Escape When I was a little girl, my mother worked for a man I simply knew as Bowafo. If he had another name, I never heard it or maybe that was
his only name, like Cher. He was that beautiful almost midnight black color that some Africans are. He was also very tall. He made African
fashions that he sold in a small tightly packed shop in Universal studios back lot, long before it became everything it is today. I don't know what my
mother did for him, I don't think whatever it was, that it lasted very long. My mother said in passing that she wanted to emigrate to Africa. She
thought it would potentially be easier to be a black person there. Bear in mind this was seven years after the Watts riots and four years after MLK's
assassination. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While no, I did not see Lions anywhere–– not even in a wild animal park, I did see that it isn't easier to be black in Africa. It's just easier to be
invisible. Maybe that's what she meant? A few years after working for Bowafo and her whole Africa phrase, my mom went on a business trip to
Georgia in 1974. When she returned, she told me that what she liked best about Atlanta was the fact that Black people passing each other on the street
didn't feel the need to acknowledge one another. Not out of rudeness, but out of the fact that Atlanta, being more densely populated by black people
meant you were just another person on the earth and not an oddity that was compelled to silently say – "Oh look another black person. Hello." Now as
an adult I have noticed that in for myself... I've been ignored in both Atlanta AND Africa (more on that later) yet the case is different here in
California. While I do endeavor to be friendly to anyone I pass on the street (particularly on my neighborhood walks) I find that when I see another
Black person, especially in an area where there aren't many, we always say hello to each other. You might say it's because I'm predisposed to do so
because my mother told me that all those years ago when I was a little girl... if so, my mom sure got around, because if I don't initiate it, then the other

My Family
Family is one of the most important things in life There were many lessons I have learned in my past such as to shoot gun and bow properly and
that family is important. I have had some time to reflects on my lessons learned but the one that stand out the most is that family is important. For
everyone they have had someone they have lost that they were somewhat close to them. Plus I think that people underestimate how much they are
attached to a person until that person is dead or have passed away. Family is one of the most valuable things people have in there world. People don't
realize that they are attached to them, until they aren't there anymore at all they are in a higher place. That is what I realized when one of my cousins
died and one of my aunts. So that was a hard time for my family and I when my cousin died one day about 4–5 years ago. Especially when I got to see
him all the time and it was really hard on our family when he died one day. That should tell people you can lose someone in the blink of an eye
because it is so easy as humans to make mistakes that might cause someone else there life. That is why life should not be taken for granted
because we are only humans that can do some dumb stuff sometimes. But that sometimes could be tomorrow or even today, so every time you can
see family you should because you don't know when you are gonna see them again. The next time you see them could be in a coffin waiting to be
buried so that shows how lives can flash and go by super fast. That is why no one should take life for granted they should live life to the fullest
potential. Like my cousin he was living his life until he oded one day his roommate came in the room to see him laying down dead in his bed.
Then I think I sat there for hours on end crying once I found out that my favorite cousin just died. Then about two to three years later one of my
aunts died because of some sort of parkinson's disease. Which was really hard for my family and me because they died somewhat close together which
brought my family even more close as people and as a family. Which was a good thing and a bad at the same time because it brought up all sorts of
trouble like why we as a family went so close to begin

The Importance Of Family Rituals
This is a great time of year to see a multitude of family rituals take place. Most people only use these religious holidays to uphold their family rituals.
This may be the only time you get to see Uncle Bob and Aunt Jean because they do not participate in only other family rituals. When students go off to
college, this may be the only time of year that they decide to come home and be with the family. The Bible states in Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good
and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (King James Bible, 1973).
Why do we need Family Rituals? Family Rituals helps with all the distances and perplexity that parental figures and children regularly feel in this
quick moving society that we have. We often become so occupied with other activities that we often neglect some rituals. For some, rituals make
living in this turbulent world less complex and steadier (Faull, 2017). Family rituals can keep the family grounded and help them remember where
they came from. They will use this time to speak about different family rituals that have been passed down from generation to generation. Since rituals
are not only used for holidays or celebrations, rituals give the family that quality they need to have a strong bond with each other. Family rituals are
actually useful in the time of stress, it will help reduce their psychological well–being that can manifest, by having a stable family ritual that will help
them debrief in a more sensible manner.

Abstract
The book Family to Family is a solid aide for the family that has lost association with itself. The very motivation behind the book as expressed by the
writers is to "discover God's purpose for your family, develop a family mission statement, establish core values, make time for quality and quantity
family time centered around God's purposes, and equip you to lead your children to Christ and mentor them spiritually."
As the writers Pipes and Lee walk the perusers through these ranges, they demonstrate to us generally accepted methods to raise families that are
focused on Christ and how guardians can render their faith to their kids and alter the course of them leaving the congregation after reaching the age
of eighteen. Family to Family starts with the life of the regular church going family that tries to do an excessive amount of day to day tasks and is not
associated with each other through Christ. The writers give the peruser a week after week and day to day list of activities that this normal family has
and indicates how this is the reason for their detachment with Christ.
Pipes and Lee use information from the American Family Association to demonstrate that "Only 34 percent of America's families eat one meal together

Reasons, why I have chosen this snapshot, is because I think this image contains something that makes a lasting impression on me. It has a lot of
good things I can talk about this snapshot memory. Not just good memories but an image that will not be able to get deleted from my mind. People
who are in this image are my family members. I say that out of all the other images I have this is one of the favorite ones I can actually say I have a
lasting impression. This snapshot image is not really bright image picture because it was taken by the time when the sun was already going down. I
have an amazing time that day we had a lot of fun with each other, family times are always great. Not so long ago on a weekend when my family
and I had recently gotten out of the church we got home and told each other, what we were going to do today the entire day. No one came up with
a good idea besides staying home and watching movies, but I mean that is not anything new we don't do or have not done at all. So I right away
thought of any good places to go to and I had remembered of places my friends had once told me about. I told my parents and explained to them
about the place. I told them that it was not a really far place to go to but it was a place where we would have to walk a lot. At first, my mother was not
as convinced because of the walking part because she does not really like walking a lot. Well, my dad was for sure already convinced. All we needed to

Family Life During The Elizabethan Era
The Elizabethan Era was a time where everything flourished. After the Black Plague, England entered a time called the Renaissance. Family life
during the time was simple and on a routine. Each day seemed more and more liked the day before. Each member of the family had a different impact
on the community and society. Ordinary life in England consisted of being with family, working everyday, going toschool, and eating food. All the
members in the families had a great bond with each other even though their agendas were different. Most families consisted of a father, mother, and
children with servants or apprentices. The father was usually head of the household and would work at home as a craftsman. Women would be vendors
and laundresses out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Breakfast wasn't as important as lunch and dinner nor was it a sit–down meal. Lunch was around 11 and supper was eaten somewhere between 6–9
(Singman 132). Foods varied depending on where you lived in England. Bread, cheese, and butter were very common. Fish was a heavy part of their
diet for a source of protein as well. Vegetables and fruits like apricots and cabbages were also popular (Forgeng 167). Since the water system had many
problems, people preferred brewed drinks over water. Ale, which consisted of water, and spices, was a very common drink. Beer was popular in cities
like London(170). When it came to cooking food, it depended on the type of kitchen utensils you had. Fire was required for boiling, roasting, or
baking food. Women had to use pots with legs for most of the meals. Utensils were made from clay, iron, or copper (169). Food was a way to bring
the family together after a long day of school, work, or labor. Family, going to school, working, and eating were all factors of ordinary life in the
Elizabethan Era. Being with family was very important since men and boys were out of the house all day. While the children went to school, the
adults worked in the house or out on the streets. School hours were long and tiring, but it was a privilege to go to school. Food and drinks were a
way to bond and catch up with your family. Ordinary life revolved around family, work, school, and

The Negative Effects Of Technology In The Home
"Technology in the Home"
In today's world, there happens to be a lot of technology. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but what happens when too much of a good thing turns
out bad and begins to have a negative effect on important relationships? Children and parents don't have the same kind of relationships that they had in
the past. Relationships all around the world are going through a dramatic change. This is partly due to the presence of technology. Because I still live
with my parents and my family I've seen a change in how families communicate with each other and how much time families spend together. Kids
rarely go outside and hang out with their friends anymore and when they do, it's for very short periods of time. The first negative effect being that kids
today spend a lot more time watching television, using computers and playing video games. The second negative effect is the divide that has come
between parent and child. Parents have had a sort of disconnect with their children and communications between the two have dropped significantly.
Another negative effect of technology in households is that parents work more and have less time to spend. And when they do have the time to spend
they're on their devices checking emails at their children events or texting while eating dinner. Often times parents just don't have the time to focus on
work and kids. A lot of us probably have great childhood memories. Whether it's going on camping trips with your parents,

A Personal Essay : My Favorite Place
Everybody has their own favorite place, food, thing, or event that happened. It can be from a memory that made it your favorite or it could be
from a significant meaning to you personally. Alexis' favorite place with a significant value to her would be her grandparents' lake house. When she
was a little girl she used to sleep the whole way since it is a six hour drive, since she has gotten older she hasn't slept the whole way and while she
was awake she noticed; how little things like a song on the radio from her parents childhood, and even playing little games to pass the time, can make
her truly understand how things would be completely different with family not around. Going from Ohio to Indiana there is not much to see.
Cornfields, farms, highway, and an occasional dead deer is about the most exciting you get to see on the journey to her favorite spot. But talking to
her family about everything possible, starting college, a new job, how to develop credit, and even high school drama that was going on, would never
happen unless her family was there. During the drive Alexis gets very agitated and exhausted, but as soon as they pull on their road, she will be wide
awake and ready to go whatever time it was. There is so many things to see at their house; her family, the boat, and the house itself.
The weekend of Labor Day at her grandparents' means getting the opportunity to connect more with family, riding the boat around the peaceful lake,
and being able to relax and

Reflection Of A Good Wife
In 1955, the article entitled, "The Good Wife's Guide," detailing all the ways that a wife should act in a certain ways and how best she can be a
partner to her husband and a mother to her children. I believe that being a good wife runs so much deeper than making dinner, washing undies, and
doing the dishes. It's about prioritizing your family and loving them with all of "your" heart. As the years pass on, the society became more
open–minded about the tradition stereotype gender role. The changes also included both wife and husband were expected to help each other and the
house chores was divided. The wife is not only the main charged of doing all the house works and prepare food for the family. Men were also
expected to make some contribution to take part in the household works. Whomever the person went home first whether the husband or the wife, the
person is expected to clean up the house if it's needed, prepare dinner for the family and expected to take care the children. Back in 1995, the wife
encourages to wash the children's face, comb their hair and change their clothes. Importantly, she had to reduce all the noise of washer or vacuum and
encourage the children to be quiet at the time when the husband came home because the husband had spent long enough hours at his work. When he
got home, it's his time to relax and enjoy his time freely without interfering his moment. But in the 2010 guideline, the expectation for the wife is to
encourage the kids to be excited and

It's true that a father is a daughter's best friend and her one and only hero. Well, mine is. Although some things have changed and it's not like before,

"Once I learned how to listen, I discovered that most adolescent and adult women suffer from their father 's emotional distance and lack of
involvement in the family life. In their words, dad was 'self–absorbed', 'unavailable', 'tied up in his own ego', and 'incapable of dealing with feelings"
(Maine, Margo 115). Indeed, I heard my cousins talking about their family problems with their parents. They did not get to spend quality time
with their father and that used to make them feel stressed and sad. But, in my case no matter how tired my father was he always used to give some
time to his family and I was happy about it. I felt like every family has problems except mine. I considered myself the luckiest one of all. However, like
other fathers even my father used to go to work and was a busy person, but whenever he was back home he used to show his bright side of him. My
father was a person who used to give his best at his job but, he never used to show his tiredness in home, he was someone who used to give as much as
time to his family . It was a blessing to grow with such a lovable father. My mother at the other hand was really caring and loving. She used to spend
quality time with me, and always guided me in everything I do. At that time, I felt like my world was complete and happy. Everything was so perfect

The True Meaning Of Family
The True Meaning of Family
In "For my Mother," Dr. Jami Huntsinger writes about how her mother lives with Alzheimer's disease and how her father never gave up on his wife. In
this essay, Huntsinger discusses the strong relationship her mother and father shared during this hard time in their lives. Even though Huntsinger's
mother was physically unable speak, she was still able to have full conversations with her loved ones. Huntsinger stated, "She would answer, and I
would try to answer with "Really?" Or "No, you're kidding me, "or "That's interesting," all based on patterns of soft or hard sounds.". All of her doctors

Referring back to Dr. Huntsinger's paper about her mother and father she proves that being a family is more than "a basic unit consisting of parents and
their children," it is being there for one another no matter the circumstances. Loving, supporting and most importantly showing a commitment towards
each other. When two people get married and they say the words 'I do' they are committed inmarriage, which means that they are together as one:
they are loyal, truthful, and loving to one another. When a person is committed to either a partner or a family they will do anything for them.
Referring back to Dr. Huntsinger's story it is stated that "Dad tried endlessly to get the courts to release her, but it never happened. In the end, my
father just gave up and chose instead to visit her every day," He was committed to staying by her side no matter where she was. Mr. Huntsinger
never seemed to complain when he would drive three hundred miles each day just to see her. He dedicated his life to always loving his wife and
being a part of her life no matter where she was. He was going to be with her in any way he could be. One of the crucial parts to keep their
relationship going long and strong until the day she died was spending time together.

I Must Cherish The Time With Your Family : A Short Story
I believe you must cherish the time with your family! (1)
I woke up and it was a new day, where everything was normal, but it wasn't, my brother wasn't there. Over the years I grew up with my brothers and
two dogs which one looked like a fatten up sausage ready to be eaten. I learned to love and live with them. They were my best friends and I spent
most of my days with them. Playing history games or other similar games which they were a massive part of my life. One day that all stopped when
the wind died down all was left was me and my final brother. (2)
I am seven years old now and out of all those seven years I lived with both of my brothers. My brothers included Avi and Daniel. Avi was the brother
who made gaming fun with his strategic deployments. As for Daniel he would ruin Avi'sruins and Avi would exclaimed, " No, what Angelo you ruined
our chance." As you can tell from that statement I wasn't that bright with my strategic placements. We would play till the morning dawn when the
sunlight would burn your face and you are being cooked in the sizzling metal seat. (3)
When I was young everything was nice I had not to be worried to be organized and time to do my homework. We didn't have any worries just me
and my brothers. Well until the first one went to college. His name was Avi, though his real name was Alvaro. We all look like clones of each other
which came from different timelines. The first few days I didn't realize he was gone because I was young and everything was new. (4)
One day Avi told me, ВЁI gotta go now.ВЁ I started seeing him less and less. Now, I only had Daniel, of course he stilled loved me, but I felt a piece
of my heart was gone. Every weekend Avi would come again and again. (5)
I didn't understand the concept of college I thought it was a playground where people play with other people. Where everything was hunky–dory like
how I was now. Sometimes, Avi took us to places which were of amazement with me. With buildings that touched the sky and made me feel like an
ant, so inconsiderately small to the building. The people just walked by like wind blowing in the breeze. Nothing mattered only me and my brothers. (6)
Suddenly, there was many events, more than usual all at once. By the end

lesson that I took away was that many men were still willing to fight for their city and where they called home even if it was all lost to the war.
Remembering Aizu had many lessons in which could be taught from it because there are so many representations of honor, society, and major political

The Theory Of The Deterrence Theory
Another concept of the deterrence theory that relates to my deviance act is family ties. A family tie means that somewhere down the road, within my
family tree the way we act in my family is because its how my bloodline was raised generation after generation. This concept fits right in with the
deterrence theory because if someone has a family tie to a certain situation or a certain situation, then chances are they too will join in on the action.
This connects to my situation because at first, when I handed my father the letter, he kind of shrugged it off and just looked at it as a stupid
school assignment that I had to do to pass my class. This is because of our family ties, any male in my family, whether they are alive today, or have
passed away, would have reacted exactly how my dad did. In fact thats exactly how I imagined him reacting with my first attempt to read him the
letter. But once my dad had alone time, where he felt no one was going to look down on him for getting emotional, he broke the family tie and reread
the letter I wrote to him and reflected on it. When I brought it to his attention that I knew that he went ahead and reread my letter, once again he
denied it before finally opening up to me about everything I had written. The family ties were broken, but just between us, for a short amount of time,
I don 't think either of us will ever let any other family member know what went on between the two of us for that short 20 minutes of opening up to

Prince Rogers Nelson Biography
Prince Rogers Nelson, the artist known as Prince who Thursday became "formerly" with a devastating finality at only 57, was so gifted it barely can
be believed, let alone described. Thankfully, it hardly needs to be, because anyone who wasn't frightened off by his flagrancies and ambiguities could
tell that this was a talent of the kind that rearranges what culture can do and what a human can be–the kind possessed, for instance, by two artists who
predeceased him, his contemporary Michael Jackson and his elder by a dozen years David Bowie, and a very short list of other figures in pop–music
history.
He was one of the finest ever pop singers, one of the most incredible guitarists (the anecdote in which Eric Clapton once replied to the question
"What's it like to be the greatest guitarist alive?" by saying "I don't know, ask Prince" is probably apocryphal but, on a higher plane, definitely correct),
and one of the most indelible songwriters, most influential producers, best wearers (and removers) of clothing, and most electric semiotic manipulators.

When a story is written, characters may be the most important aspect to consider. Without the characters, and the events that happen to them, the story
would no longer have any point. When reading The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Metamorphosis, there are many parallels between the main characters.
Ivan and Gregor both considered burdens on their families. The indirect characterization in each story, allows the reader to gradually follow the
changing attitude of the main character, leading up to their death.
Ivan Ilyich is introduced as a working man "liked by them all", although from the start you understand that he is dead (Tolstoy). This differs from
Gregor 's story where he is introduced as being "transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin," and the readers do not know that Gregor is
eventually going to die in the story(Kafka). In the beginning of each story both men are likeable. The indirect characterization allows the reader to
analyze the behavior of each character to further understand their personality. Ivan is known as a man who places heavy importance on work. This is
known early into the text. Gregor is very similar in this aspect as his own mother states to his employer, "The lad only ever thinks about the
business"(Kafka). Ivan felt "the whole interest of his life now centered in the official world," creating a similar mindset with Gregor(Tolstoy). It is not
until later in the text that the reader understands what a toll this takes on the family life. Gregor

Kate Chopin 's The Awakening
Skylett Villacis
Ms. Gibeily
English 3, Period 7
4 April 2016
The Obstacles of Feminism in the 1800s
The Awakening by Kate Chopin published in 1899 is a novel that can teach the true meaning of family, the importance of friendship, and the value of
independence. Chopin teaches the true meaning of family by showing how Edna receives no support from her own family and struggles to succeed
without them. Chopin shows the importance of friendship when Edna has no one by her side until she meets a woman named Adele and a man named
Robert. The primary area that Chopin focuses on is the satisfaction of independence. Edna loses herself throughout time but has two friends to help
her get back on track. In The Awakening, Kate Chopin uses family, friendship, and independence in order to show the obstacles women go through,
such as being disciplined by the men in their life, and not being able to choose who they would like to spend the rest of their life with, in the 1800s.
Chopin introduces the true meaning of family by beginning the story with Edna and her husband Leonce going on a getaway to a cottage. Its begins
with showing how happy they are being married and having their own family together. Edna and Leonce 's marriage is going through difficulties at the
time, but things seem to get worse at their getaway to the cottage. Edna is confused on why her husband and her kids are acting a certain way towards
her. She says, "It would have been a difficult matter for Mr.

Heart Reflection Paper

  • 1. Heart Reflection Paper On Friday, March 30, 2012, I was pulled out of my sixth–grade reading class. When I got to the office my Great–Uncle was standing there with a very strange look on his face. He proceeded to say "Aunt Linda Kay went to the doctors today and they found out she was having a heart attack and rushed her to the emergency room. They took her to the catheterization laboratory and they figured out she would need a quadruple bypass." He proceeded to tell me I would be staying with him and his wife. When I got to their house they explained that the doctors would be taking blood vessels from her leg and attach them to her heart. At this point, I was crying almost inconsolably so they decided to try calling the hospital so I could talk to her. We were joking on the phone just having a good time, she made it a point to reassure me that everything would be ok because she had the number one heart surgeon on the east coast doing her surgery. At the end of that call, I knew it would not be ok because she said, "I love you to brat", which she never said to me. Sadly, that was the last time I got to hear her voice. The next morning, my family and I prayed the doctors would be able to help her.Thankfully, all her heart stents went in without a problem. One of the downsides to the surgery was that they had to put her in a medically induced coma for a couple of hours. Sunday morning my family and I were pulled from church service due to a call that would change our lives forever. She had a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. O Pioneer Hardships Hardships in O Pioneer During the middle to late 1800's, thousands upon thousands of Americans, as well as foreigners, flocked to the mid–western part of the United States. They flocked to this area hoping to gain free or cheap land promised to them by the United States Government. Most of the "pioneers" left cities and factory jobs to venture out into the American prairies and become farmers. They left their homes, not only because the land was either free or cheap, but also because they wanted to leave the hardships of city life. However, as most would find out, prairie life had its' share of hardships, that far out–reached the hardships of city life. Among these hardships were the death of siblings and friends due to starvation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After John died, the family divided the land into three parts. These three parts went to Alexandra, Lou, and Oscar. All three had difficulties within the first couple of years. It even got to the point to where they were discussing the idea of leaving and going back home. They discussed this idea because the land they were living on was not producing much for them and money was very hard to earn. Cather stated in Chapter two that John Bergson "spent his first five years on the Divide getting into debt, and the last six getting out." After John died, the rest of the family took on the responsibility of repaying this debt. However, by the end of the novel, the land had become very fertile and hearty and they were able to make a living off of it. But most pioneers during this time were not so lucky. Some died of starvation. Some returned to the cities in which they came from. Carl Linstrums family, in this story, had such bad luck with the land; they were forced to return to the city. Violence and crime was also a problem for prairie dwellers. Most people in this area lived in seclusion, miles from the nearest town. Therefore there was no jurisdiction in these outer one or two home communities. Because there was no jurisdiction, it was increasingly easier for people to commit crimes and get away with it. And most times this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Ethical Dilemma Of Music In Music And Music A patient in acute care has culturally specific music because the family believes it will help the patient. The patient is not cognitively aware and there are other patients in the room. This ethical dilemma questions whether or not the rehab assistant should let the family continue playing the music or to stop since the patient is not cognitively aware and there are other patients in the same room. By asking the family to stop playing the music, conflict may occur as the RA is disrupting their culture healing beliefs. Whereas if they continue to play the music, patients in the same room could become agitated which can create problems between other patients and the family. As the duty of a culturally competent RA, we will try to accommodate the patients needs where everyone is happy with the outcome while maintaining each patient's autonomy. The first option is to change the genre of music from time to time. The advantage of this is to have a mixture of music so the other patient's in the room aren't annoyed with repetitive and same language music. The disadvantage of this option is the family may get mad or upset as we are disrupting their belief process and not taking their culture seriously if we consider changing the music from time to time. One principle is justice. If the family can play their music then why can't the other patients too? There is no harm in changing the music (non–maleficence) but the family might be offended. The second option is to play the music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Suffering In Sonny's Blues Mama, a member of the oldest generation of the family, reveals that the suffering encountered throughout the story is nothing new, and rather has been part of Harlem for as far back as we can trace. Mama realized the inevitability of suffering in Harlem, knowing all too well of "the darkness outside", yet aimed to have a full and meaningful life despite this suffering (131). In order to do this, she turned to the suffering of her family, particularly her husband's suffering over the death of his brother. Mama reveals just how much she did to prevent suffering within her home in her last conversation with the narrator. One thing that she did in particular was that she gave her husband a shoulder to cry on: "I know you never saw your Daddy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Mama was attentive, and able to recognize the struggles of her family, the narrator is seemingly blind to them. The beginning of "Sonny's Blues" signals the narrator's awakening to his family's suffering. The narrator "[can't] believe it" when he read about Sonny's arrest on drug charges and becomes faced with news Sonny's drug problem and arrest; he becomes "scared, scared for Sonny" (122). Sonny's arrest makes him "become real to [the narrator] again." This signals the narrator's realization of the suffering of his brother. While the narrator makes this realization in the beginning of the story, it is not until later in the story, while the narrator is struggling over the death of his daughter that he reaches out to Sonny. The narrator's own suffering "made [Sonny's] real" (139). This shows that the narrator reaches out to Sonny largely in order to make sense of his own suffering due to his daughter's death. As the story progresses, the narrator's past blindness to the suffering of his family becomes more and more evident. The narrator says things such as "I had never really noticed it before," and "strange, suddenly, to watch, though I had been seeing...all my life" when he is discussing Sonny's struggle with addiction, indicating his gradual realization of his previous blindness (141). Sonny's situation and the narrator' grief over this blindness lead the narrator to take Sonny in and try to help Sonny work toward resolution of these issues. Much like his mother, his purpose in life becomes understanding Sonny's struggle and attempting to prevent this suffering. In doing this, he also slowly begins to see continued suffering rampant throughout his neighborhood. He begins to hear his student's laughter to be "mocking" and "insular" and realizes that his students are also struggling (123). He also talks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once the old pipes are out of the way, the plumbers will start running new pipe through the walls to each fixture. During galvanized pipe replacement in Cypress, everything from the main lines to each outlet is changed out. Once all the pipe is replaced, the plumbers will come back and patch the holes in the wall, then paint and smooth the surface. How Long Does a Cypress Repipe Take A typical galvanized pipe replacement in Cypress takes between 3 and 5 days. However, the job may be longer in some circumstances. For the most part, water will only be off for a few hours per day, allowing you and your family to remain in the home for most jobs. Cypress Whole–House Repipe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My favorite holiday traditions and querencias are Christmas cookie making and Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping are my. The word querencia has the root of the word querer which is a spanish verb that means to desire and to want. A querencia is something one desires or something that makes on feel safe, comforted and free. The first tradition that comes to mind is Christmas cookie–making. Around December 1st, the Christmas spirit begins to spread my around house. Christmas songs slowly become more ubiquitous in our family playlists. Soon, every family member becomes a sycophant and complements one another to ensure they receive the gift he or she wants. On Fridays when I don't have much homework after dance, my family crowds around in the family room to watch "25 Days Before Christmas". As the cold white snow falls across the town and we would all watch, warm and excited. My favorite part of Christmas is baking the cookies for "Santa". My aunt, mom, grandma and I bake cookies for the entire family and two special ones for Santa. At this time we chat about gifts and shopping and share jokes. I loves this tradition because I love cooking and most of all I love being with my aunt, mom and grandma all at once. When I stand outside I look around. "What is happening?" I ask "I'm not sure. I see Mrs. Rimas let's go see her, maybe she'll know," he says. As I look around again, everyone is already outside talking and the NKVD are yelling at one another. We walk up to Mrs. Rimas, who is already outside talking with others. She is smiling and laughing for the first time I've personally had the pleasure to see. She looks beautiful, reminding me of mother. "Will someone tell me what is going on?" My grandmother has won several cooking contest when she lived in the bay area. When the family comes around for Christmas, it is unforgettable because it does not happen all the time. The negative part about the whole family getting together is that there is always some type of drama. When the family gets together, there is always a fight of some kind because something is said to make someone mad. For some, this can be a stressful time but for others it is mere entertainment because the fights are over the stupidest things. When family member fight at Thanksgiving, it is usually over the food. There are several types of festivals celebrated in the U.S. Among them I like Christmas. It celebrates the end of each calendar. It has been known as the birthday of God Jesus Christ. It is a holy day of the Christian religion. It is very popular because we can celebrate it with families, relatives, and friends. People are being very busy on working, they do not have enough time to share love and affection with families. They wait for festivals to meet their families and friends. Christmas is celebrated at end of every year. It is a festival of great delight, sharing, and bliss. Three reasons I like Christmas are spending time with family, having time off from school and work and receiving gifts. Spending time with family is the most valuable time for everyone. When the festival comes, people get together with the family and friends. Christmas is the biggest festival of the year people celebrate it doing different activities. For instance, on this day, they decorate the pine tree and fur with festival lights, bulbs, flowers, garlands and stars and sparkle lighting at home. Over the course of the domains of culture I have been able to increase my perception of who and what drives this family and how their beliefs came about. Assessment of the Purnell Domains of Culture Overview of Family and Family Structure and Cultural Heritage When speaking to the Mrs. Smith about family and family structure I mainly focused on the concepts of where they live and the effects it has on their family. This involves their country, current residence, topology, economics, politics, education and occupation (NASN, 2013). Such topics give an inside look in regards to certain diseases and health factors that are more prominent to or more acceptable to the population in that region and area of residence. As well as this, these concepts allow the more in depth in understanding of diet, mental diseases, economic standing, and the families degree of assimilation or acculturation if there is any. My behavior problem includes my high temper with anger issues including screaming at my family. Particularly towards my oldest sixteen–year–old son and my youngest fourteen–year–old son. An example for a pattern on my behavior problem is the way my children answer to me or do not answer at all, when I ask them to do their chores, or I ask them to do a specific task they do not do nothing or they ignore me. • 13. Narrative Essay On Dorothy Camp One of the antagonists in my screenplay is Josh Camp's mother named Dorothy Camp. She is a skinny red headed woman with marble green eyes, whose main objective is to make sure her son is successful in life. Her birthday is June 15th of 1977, which makes her a gemini. This is important to note because she is constantly changing her mood and the way she decides to handle situations. She is aware that she is a Gemini and constantly uses it as excuses for her bipolar lifestyle. Furthermore, she grew up during disastrous events such as the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and challenger space shuttle disaster, which contribute to her stress and anxiety. As a young child, she didn't get a lot of attention from her parents because they were always working in order to put food on the table. This made it difficult for her to get attached to anyone except a rich man named Richard Camp that she met in her twenties. At the time, she didn't realize he was wealthy because of the way he dressed, presented himself, and his occupation. Currently, she is married to him with two children that they decided to name Josh and Emily. Needless to say, themarriage changed Dorothy's entire life for the better. For example, she used to live paycheck to paycheck in a one bedroom apartment in Nevada until she met Richard at one of the local grocery stores. He was bagging her groceries unaware that he had bagged her heart. When Josh was born, she made a promise to herself that she would give him all the attention and love that was physically possible. At times, her son hates it, but she thinks it's only because he is going through a faze. Every once and awhile, she finds herself daydreaming about him at young age and their most memorable moments to date. Along with her clinginess, she easily gets offended by the simplest comments. There was this one time, where her daughter said that she looked better in the color red compared to blue and she literally didn't wear red for two years. When Emily commented about it, Dorothy acted like she didn't know what she was talking about. Most of the family try to ignore it, but sometimes her reactions become everyone's problem. There are a few important factors that separate the two family set ups: the quality time, the roles and responsibilities, and the development of women inside the family, as well as in the whole world. One career family has the advantage in terms of the quality time, which is the most important aspect in a family, because it focuses on the relationship, communication, and connection between the parents and the children. In closing, there have been debates regarding which family life is better, which has been a focus of many studies and researches. Nowhere in the study was this mentioned. It seems as if both John and Julia try to distract from the work routine and spend some time with their children, which are a good thing, but there is no constructiveness in addressing possible changes that could benefit the family better itself. • 24. My Family Family is one of the most important things in life There were many lessons I have learned in my past such as to shoot gun and bow properly and that family is important. I have had some time to reflects on my lessons learned but the one that stand out the most is that family is important. For everyone they have had someone they have lost that they were somewhat close to them. Plus I think that people underestimate how much they are attached to a person until that person is dead or have passed away. Family is one of the most valuable things people have in there world. People don't realize that they are attached to them, until they aren't there anymore at all they are in a higher place. That is what I realized when one of my cousins died and one of my aunts. So that was a hard time for my family and I when my cousin died one day about 4–5 years ago. Especially when I got to see him all the time and it was really hard on our family when he died one day. That should tell people you can lose someone in the blink of an eye because it is so easy as humans to make mistakes that might cause someone else there life. That is why life should not be taken for granted because we are only humans that can do some dumb stuff sometimes. But that sometimes could be tomorrow or even today, so every time you can see family you should because you don't know when you are gonna see them again. The next time you see them could be in a coffin waiting to be buried so that shows how lives can flash and go by super fast. That is why no one should take life for granted they should live life to the fullest potential. Like my cousin he was living his life until he oded one day his roommate came in the room to see him laying down dead in his bed. Then I think I sat there for hours on end crying once I found out that my favorite cousin just died. Then about two to three years later one of my aunts died because of some sort of parkinson's disease. When students go off to college, this may be the only time of year that they decide to come home and be with the family. The Bible states in Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (King James Bible, 1973). Why do we need Family Rituals? We often become so occupied with other activities that we often neglect some rituals. For some, rituals make living in this turbulent world less complex and steadier (Faull, 2017). Family rituals can keep the family grounded and help them remember where they came from. They will use this time to speak about different family rituals that have been passed down from generation to generation. Since rituals are not only used for holidays or celebrations, rituals give the family that quality they need to have a strong bond with each other. Family rituals are actually useful in the time of stress, it will help reduce their psychological well–being that can manifest, by having a stable family ritual that will help them debrief in a more sensible manner. ... • 26. Analysis Of The Book ' Family On Family ' LIBERTY UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF DIVINITY 4MAT Book Review– Family to Family Submitted to Dr Jeff Ward, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the completion of EVAN 525–B08 Contemporary Evangelism by Todd Bush July 3, 2016 Abstract The book Family to Family is a solid aide for the family that has lost association with itself. The very motivation behind the book as expressed by the writers is to "discover God's purpose for your family, develop a family mission statement, establish core values, make time for quality and quantity family time centered around God's purposes, and equip you to lead your children to Christ and mentor them spiritually." As the writers Pipes and Lee walk the perusers through these ranges, they demonstrate to us generally accepted methods to raise families that are focused on Christ and how guardians can render their faith to their kids and alter the course of them leaving the congregation after reaching the age of eighteen. Family to Family starts with the life of the regular church going family that tries to do an excessive amount of day to day tasks and is not associated with each other through Christ. The writers give the peruser a week after week and day to day list of activities that this normal family has and indicates how this is the reason for their detachment with Christ. Pipes and Lee use information from the American Family Association to demonstrate that "Only 34 percent of America's families eat one meal together

It has a lot of good things I can talk about this snapshot memory. Not just good memories but an image that will not be able to get deleted from my mind. People who are in this image are my family members. I say that out of all the other images I have this is one of the favorite ones I can actually say I have a lasting impression. This snapshot image is not really bright image picture because it was taken by the time when the sun was already going down. I have an amazing time that day we had a lot of fun with each other, family times are always great. Not so long ago on a weekend when my family and I had recently gotten out of the church we got home and told each other, what we were going to do today the entire day. No one came up with a good idea besides staying home and watching movies, but I mean that is not anything new we don't do or have not done at all. So I right away thought of any good places to go to and I had remembered of places my friends had once told me about. I told my parents and explained to them about the place. I told them that it was not a really far place to go to but it was a place where we would have to walk a lot. At first, my mother was not as convinced because of the walking part because she does not really like walking a lot. Well, my dad was for sure already convinced. All we needed to do ... • 29. Family Life During The Elizabethan Era The Elizabethan Era was a time where everything flourished. After the Black Plague, England entered a time called the Renaissance. Family life during the time was simple and on a routine. Each day seemed more and more liked the day before. Each member of the family had a different impact on the community and society. Ordinary life in England consisted of being with family, working everyday, going toschool, and eating food. All the members in the families had a great bond with each other even though their agendas were different. Most families consisted of a father, mother, and children with servants or apprentices. The father was usually head of the household and would work at home as a craftsman. Women would be vendors and laundresses out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Breakfast wasn't as important as lunch and dinner nor was it a sit–down meal. Lunch was around 11 and supper was eaten somewhere between 6–9 (Singman 132). Foods varied depending on where you lived in England. Bread, cheese, and butter were very common. Fish was a heavy part of their diet for a source of protein as well. Vegetables and fruits like apricots and cabbages were also popular (Forgeng 167). Since the water system had many problems, people preferred brewed drinks over water. Ale, which consisted of water, and spices, was a very common drink. Beer was popular in cities like London(170). When it came to cooking food, it depended on the type of kitchen utensils you had. Fire was required for boiling, roasting, or baking food. Women had to use pots with legs for most of the meals. Utensils were made from clay, iron, or copper (169). Food was a way to bring the family together after a long day of school, work, or labor. Family, going to school, working, and eating were all factors of ordinary life in the Elizabethan Era. Being with family was very important since men and boys were out of the house all day. While the children went to school, the adults worked in the house or out on the streets. School hours were long and tiring, but it was a privilege to go to school. Food and drinks were a way to bond and catch up with your family. • 30. The Negative Effects Of Technology In The Home "Technology in the Home" In today's world, there happens to be a lot of technology. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but what happens when too much of a good thing turns out bad and begins to have a negative effect on important relationships? Children and parents don't have the same kind of relationships that they had in the past. Relationships all around the world are going through a dramatic change. This is partly due to the presence of technology. Because I still live with my parents and my family I've seen a change in how families communicate with each other and how much time families spend together. Kids rarely go outside and hang out with their friends anymore and when they do, it's for very short periods of time. The first negative effect being that kids today spend a lot more time watching television, using computers and playing video games. The second negative effect is the divide that has come between parent and child. Parents have had a sort of disconnect with their children and communications between the two have dropped significantly. Another negative effect of technology in households is that parents work more and have less time to spend. And when they do have the time to spend they're on their devices checking emails at their children events or texting while eating dinner. Often times parents just don't have the time to focus on work and kids. A lot of us probably have great childhood memories. Whether it's going on camping trips with your parents, ... It can be from a memory that made it your favorite or it could be from a significant meaning to you personally. Alexis' favorite place with a significant value to her would be her grandparents' lake house. When she was a little girl she used to sleep the whole way since it is a six hour drive, since she has gotten older she hasn't slept the whole way and while she was awake she noticed; how little things like a song on the radio from her parents childhood, and even playing little games to pass the time, can make her truly understand how things would be completely different with family not around. Going from Ohio to Indiana there is not much to see. Cornfields, farms, highway, and an occasional dead deer is about the most exciting you get to see on the journey to her favorite spot. But talking to her family about everything possible, starting college, a new job, how to develop credit, and even high school drama that was going on, would never happen unless her family was there. During the drive Alexis gets very agitated and exhausted, but as soon as they pull on their road, she will be wide awake and ready to go whatever time it was. Reflection Of A Good Wife In 1955, the article entitled, "The Good Wife's Guide," detailing all the ways that a wife should act in a certain ways and how best she can be a partner to her husband and a mother to her children. I believe that being a good wife runs so much deeper than making dinner, washing undies, and doing the dishes. It's about prioritizing your family and loving them with all of "your" heart. As the years pass on, the society became more open–minded about the tradition stereotype gender role. The changes also included both wife and husband were expected to help each other and the house chores was divided. The wife is not only the main charged of doing all the house works and prepare food for the family. Men were also expected to make some contribution to take part in the household works. Whomever the person went home first whether the husband or the wife, the person is expected to clean up the house if it's needed, prepare dinner for the family and expected to take care the children. Back in 1995, the wife encourages to wash the children's face, comb their hair and change their clothes. Importantly, she had to reduce all the noise of washer or vacuum and encourage the children to be quiet at the time when the husband came home because the husband had spent long enough hours at his work. When he got home, it's his time to relax and enjoy his time freely without interfering his moment. Indeed, I heard my cousins talking about their family problems with their parents. They did not get to spend quality time with their father and that used to make them feel stressed and sad. But, in my case no matter how tired my father was he always used to give some time to his family and I was happy about it. I felt like every family has problems except mine. I considered myself the luckiest one of all. However, like other fathers even my father used to go to work and was a busy person, but whenever he was back home he used to show his bright side of him. My father was a person who used to give his best at his job but, he never used to show his tiredness in home, he was someone who used to give as much as time to his family . When two people get married and they say the words 'I do' they are committed inmarriage, which means that they are together as one: they are loyal, truthful, and loving to one another. When a person is committed to either a partner or a family they will do anything for them. Referring back to Dr. Huntsinger's story it is stated that "Dad tried endlessly to get the courts to release her, but it never happened. In the end, my father just gave up and chose instead to visit her every day," He was committed to staying by her side no matter where she was. Mr. Huntsinger never seemed to complain when he would drive three hundred miles each day just to see her. • 35. I Must Cherish The Time With Your Family : A Short Story I believe you must cherish the time with your family! (1) I woke up and it was a new day, where everything was normal, but it wasn't, my brother wasn't there. Over the years I grew up with my brothers and two dogs which one looked like a fatten up sausage ready to be eaten. I learned to love and live with them. They were my best friends and I spent most of my days with them. Playing history games or other similar games which they were a massive part of my life. One day that all stopped when the wind died down all was left was me and my final brother. (2) I am seven years old now and out of all those seven years I lived with both of my brothers. My brothers included Avi and Daniel. Avi was the brother who made gaming fun with his strategic deployments. As for Daniel he would ruin Avi'sruins and Avi would exclaimed, " No, what Angelo you ruined our chance." As you can tell from that statement I wasn't that bright with my strategic placements. We would play till the morning dawn when the sunlight would burn your face and you are being cooked in the sizzling metal seat. (3) When I was young everything was nice I had not to be worried to be organized and time to do my homework. We didn't have any worries just me and my brothers. Well until the first one went to college. His name was Avi, though his real name was Alvaro. We all look like clones of each other which came from different timelines. The first few days I didn't realize he was gone because I was young and everything was new. (4) One day Avi told me, ВЁI gotta go now.ВЁ I started seeing him less and less. Now, I only had Daniel, of course he stilled loved me, but I felt a piece of my heart was gone. Every weekend Avi would come again and again. (5) I didn't understand the concept of college I thought it was a playground where people play with other people. Where everything was hunky–dory like how I was now. Sometimes, Avi took us to places which were of amazement with me. With buildings that touched the sky and made me feel like an ant, so inconsiderately small to the building. The people just walked by like wind blowing in the breeze. Nothing mattered only me and my brothers. (6) Suddenly, there was many events, more than usual all at once. By the end

  • 38. The Theory Of The Deterrence Theory Another concept of the deterrence theory that relates to my deviance act is family ties. A family tie means that somewhere down the road, within my family tree the way we act in my family is because its how my bloodline was raised generation after generation. This concept fits right in with the deterrence theory because if someone has a family tie to a certain situation or a certain situation, then chances are they too will join in on the action. This connects to my situation because at first, when I handed my father the letter, he kind of shrugged it off and just looked at it as a stupid school assignment that I had to do to pass my class. This is because of our family ties, any male in my family, whether they are alive today, or have passed away, would have reacted exactly how my dad did. In fact thats exactly how I imagined him reacting with my first attempt to read him the letter. But once my dad had alone time, where he felt no one was going to look down on him for getting emotional, he broke the family tie and reread the letter I wrote to him and reflected on it. When I brought it to his attention that I knew that he went ahead and reread my letter, once again he denied it before finally opening up to me about everything I had written. The family ties were broken, but just between us, for a short amount of time, I don 't think either of us will ever let any other family member know what went on between the two of us for that short 20 minutes of opening up to ... Prince Rogers Nelson Biography Prince Rogers Nelson, the artist known as Prince who Thursday became "formerly" with a devastating finality at only 57, was so gifted it barely can be believed, let alone described. Thankfully, it hardly needs to be, because anyone who wasn't frightened off by his flagrancies and ambiguities could tell that this was a talent of the kind that rearranges what culture can do and what a human can be–the kind possessed, for instance, by two artists who predeceased him, his contemporary Michael Jackson and his elder by a dozen years David Bowie, and a very short list of other figures in pop–music history. He was one of the finest ever pop singers, one of the most incredible guitarists (the anecdote in which Eric Clapton once replied to the question "What's it like to be the greatest guitarist alive?" by saying "I don't know, ask Prince" is probably apocryphal but, on a higher plane, definitely correct), and one of the most indelible songwriters, most influential producers, best wearers (and removers) of clothing, and most electric semiotic manipulators. • 40. The Death Of Ivan Ilyich And Metamorphosis When a story is written, characters may be the most important aspect to consider. Without the characters, and the events that happen to them, the story would no longer have any point. When reading The Death of Ivan Ilyich and Metamorphosis, there are many parallels between the main characters. Ivan and Gregor both considered burdens on their families. The indirect characterization in each story, allows the reader to gradually follow the changing attitude of the main character, leading up to their death. Ivan Ilyich is introduced as a working man "liked by them all", although from the start you understand that he is dead (Tolstoy). This differs from Gregor 's story where he is introduced as being "transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin," and the readers do not know that Gregor is eventually going to die in the story(Kafka). In the beginning of each story both men are likeable. The indirect characterization allows the reader to analyze the behavior of each character to further understand their personality. Ivan is known as a man who places heavy importance on work. This is known early into the text. Gregor is very similar in this aspect as his own mother states to his employer, "The lad only ever thinks about the business"(Kafka). Ivan felt "the whole interest of his life now centered in the official world," creating a similar mindset with Gregor(Tolstoy). It is not until later in the text that the reader understands what a toll this takes on the family life. Gregor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
