youare welcome atNandosto dine andeatamongstothersbecause everyone shouldbe able to
enjoyit. Like the male onthe advertsays ‘if youare a wardenof the traffic,itsok!’
The voice that wasusedwithinthisadvertwasa male,adultvoice wasusedwithinthe advertina
Portuguese accentwhichwasverystrongso helpedtoaddextraeffecttothe salsathemedmusic
withinthe background.The accentwhile beinghumorouscouldalsobe takenasoffensive for
stereotypingreasonsdue toitbeingemphasised/stagedsomuchitalmostseemedfake orlike a
voice overusedfroman actual foreignperson.
On termsof the tone of language,nothingtoextravagantwasused.The male wasjokeyandmade
the advertmore about makingsillycommentsandtryingtoattract attentionbyhumourratherthan
givingoutuseful information…Inthisrespectthe tone of language couldalsobe classedas
informative.
The Nandosrestaurantitself hasa specifictagline ‘the spiritof Nandos’,whichismentionedatthe
beginningandendof the advertsoit’sthe firstandlast thingyouhear allowingittostickinyour
mind.This tag line wouldallow customerstothinkthatNandosisunique,spiritual andhasitsown
special vibe withinthe restaurants.Besidesthis,the actual advertstagline is‘itsok’beingused
frequentlyaftermanyhumorouscomments,italsowouldgetstuck inthe audienceshead.
The Nandosbrand name wasmentioned3timeswithinthe entireadvert.Thisrepetitionisusefulin
the manor itwouldmake the customercertainas to whatrestaurantthe advertis basedon,but the
more frequentlyit’ssaidthe bettertoensure you’re reallyadvertisingthe companybroadlyandnot
lettingthe publicforget.

was alsosalsamusicplayinginthe backgroundwithanupbeat,energeticrhythmincludingaSpanish
guitarwhichsoundedlike the mostdominantinstrument.These musicthemeswill allow the
audience toknowthe foodisfrom a foreignoriginsotheycanbe expectingsomethingexoticand
unique.
The main purpose wouldbe topromote the restaurantbyinvitingthe audience andsettingascene
withthe musicand the accent themes.Althoughthe advertisn’tpackedwithgeneral information,it
stillsinvitesall the membersof the publictocome and dine withthe franchise restaurant.
The adverton a whole wasanaverage rating,nothingtoospecial howeverIdidenjoythe theme
because itaddedreal effectandfunkyvibestomake itunique comparedtootheradverts.Onthe
otherhand,I thoughtit wasfar too informative ontermsof givingprimaryinformationsuchasthem
beinga franchise,where youcanfindthemorgivinganycontact informationatall.Itbriefly
mentionssome of the foodstheyserve butnothingaboutthe dishesbeingmainlychickenbasedand
as well,nospecial offerswere mentionedwhichIthinkmakesitautomaticallylessappealingforthe
audience astheyhave noideahowexpensive itcanbe.Finally,the advertdidseemasif ithad a very
broad targetaudience butIthinkthe enthusiasmandupbeatrhythmcouldbe off-puttingtoadults
and the elderlymeaningitwouldbe more attractive forteensandyoungeradultsastothemit
wouldbe funnyandexciting.

The contextof this advertistryingto make Nandossoundunique andinteresting.Byusingthe salsa themes,Mexicanstyle accentsandfunnycomment,onawhole itmakesitsomethingunusual to listento.Thisadvertreally standsoutforcontextas mostcompaniestryingtopromote their restaurantswill dosoby sayinghowgreatthe pricesare tellingupaboutmeal deals,etc;butNandos make it more aboutthe foodensuringthe audience know whattheirpriorityis(foodover money). Thisstyle of thisradioadvertis mainlyveryhumorousandrepetitive.The comical side will always helptoattract an audience,however,Ithinkthe male speakingonthe advertalmosttriestoohard to be funnywithsome commentsandendsupsoundingharshandoffensive.Anexample of one of hiscommentsiswhenhe saysabout hissister’seyebrowsmeetinginthe middle.Besidesthis,you hearthe words‘it’sok’overand overagainwhichindicatesthe use of repetition.It’suseful touse repetitionwithinadvertsasyougetit stuckin the audiencesheadandthe more theythinkaboutthe advert,the more theywill thinkaboutpurchasingfromthiscompanyorin thiscase,visitingthe restaurant. I thinkthe overall message thatthisadvertis deliveringisthatwhoeveryouare,nomatterwhat you looklike orsoundlike,howoldyouare,whatjob youhave or what imperfections/quirksyouhave, youare welcome atNandosto dine andeatamongstothersbecause everyone shouldbe able to enjoyit. Like the male onthe advertsays ‘if youare a wardenof the traffic,itsok!’ The voice that wasusedwithinthisadvertwasa male,adultvoice wasusedwithinthe advertina Portuguese accentwhichwasverystrongso helpedtoaddextraeffecttothe salsathemedmusic withinthe background.The accentwhile beinghumorouscouldalsobe takenasoffensive for stereotypingreasonsdue toitbeingemphasised/stagedsomuchitalmostseemedfake orlike a voice overusedfroman actual foreignperson. On termsof the tone of language,nothingtoextravagantwasused.The male wasjokeyandmade the advertmore about makingsillycommentsandtryingtoattract attentionbyhumourratherthan givingoutuseful information…Inthisrespectthe tone of language couldalsobe classedas informative. The Nandosrestaurantitself hasa specifictagline ‘the spiritof Nandos’,whichismentionedatthe beginningandendof the advertsoit’sthe firstandlast thingyouhear allowingittostickinyour mind.This tag line wouldallow customerstothinkthatNandosisunique,spiritual andhasitsown special vibe withinthe restaurants.Besidesthis,the actual advertstagline is‘itsok’beingused frequentlyaftermanyhumorouscomments,italsowouldgetstuck inthe audienceshead. The Nandosbrand name wasmentioned3timeswithinthe entireadvert.Thisrepetitionisusefulin the manor itwouldmake the customercertainas to whatrestaurantthe advertis basedon,but the more frequentlyit’ssaidthe bettertoensure you’re reallyadvertisingthe companybroadlyandnot lettingthe publicforget. Tyinginwiththe Portuguese stylefoodandthe Portugueseaccentof the male onthe advert,there was alsosalsamusicplayinginthe backgroundwithanupbeat,energeticrhythmincludingaSpanish guitarwhichsoundedlike the mostdominantinstrument.These musicthemeswill allow the audience toknowthe foodisfrom a foreignoriginsotheycanbe expectingsomethingexoticand unique. The main purpose wouldbe topromote the restaurantbyinvitingthe audience andsettingascene withthe musicand the accent themes.Althoughthe advertisn’tpackedwithgeneral information,it stillsinvitesall the membersof the publictocome and dine withthe franchise restaurant. The adverton a whole wasanaverage rating,nothingtoospecial howeverIdidenjoythe theme because itaddedreal effectandfunkyvibestomake itunique comparedtootheradverts.Onthe otherhand,I thoughtit wasfar too informative ontermsof givingprimaryinformationsuchasthem beinga franchise,where youcanfindthemorgivinganycontact informationatall.Itbriefly mentionssome of the foodstheyserve butnothingaboutthe dishesbeingmainlychickenbasedand as well,nospecial offerswere mentionedwhichIthinkmakesitautomaticallylessappealingforthe audience astheyhave noideahowexpensive itcanbe.Finally,the advertdidseemasif ithad a very broad targetaudience butIthinkthe enthusiasmandupbeatrhythmcouldbe off-puttingtoadults and the elderlymeaningitwouldbe more attractive forteensandyoungeradultsastothemit wouldbe funnyandexciting.
