I recordedandeditedmyadvertona software calledreaper. Throughoutthe editingprocessIused
varioustechniquestomake myadvertsoundasprofessional aspossible andgetitto the best
strandardI could.Initially,itwas difficultforthe actual recordingstosoundperfectas I usedmy
classmatesas recordingartistssonobodyhadany experience andwe were all new tothistype of
project.Afterrecordingmyadvertseveral timestogetthe script,tonesof voice andtiming all correct
I piecedittogetherandbegantoeditit byincludingthe soundeffects,musictrackandother
techiquessuchasadjustingvolume andpitchof voices.
The most useful technique Iusedwasthe fadinginandout of the voice recordings,soundeffects
and music.Itletthe noise fade outnaturallyinsteadof cuttingfromone thingtoanotherwhich
helpedraise the professional standardof myadvert. Youcan see where Ihave usedthe fading
technique inmyadvertbylookingforthe redlinesat the beginningorendsof the bars.
2. I usedthe volume/panadjustmenttocontrol the volume of eachindividual recordingtoensure they
all had the same noise levelsandwere alsoloudenoughtobe heardclearly.Thiscame inuse to me
as I recordedsome of my scriptseparatelyaccordingtowhichclassmateswere free andat what
timesbefore Icouldputit all together;thiswaythe noise levelswereequal.
One othertechnique Iusedwasthe volume wave tomake certainpartsof speechloudertostand
out more.I appliedthisonmyadvertwhenthere waswhisperingtomake sure itwasstill heard
althoughitwas quieter.
