Dear Parents,
19 – 23 June
Activities we will be doing in Preschool
 We have started practising for our end of term production. All the
children will have the opportunity to take part by saying lines and
performing various actions or dances. It is a good activity to help develop
their ability to following directions and wait for their turn.
 Over the next few weeks the children will be looking at the work of various
French Impressionists. They will get the opportunity to explore different
paint techniques and textures so that they can create their own painting
on canvas.
Activities to do at home
 As we are talking about textures look round your home and talk to your
child about the different textures they may find. Help them to use a range
of words like smooth, rough, shiny, fluffy, course.
 The children in Preschool are always encouraged to write their own name
on pieces of work and art they do. Practise, at home, writing their own
name and encourage them to form their letters correctly.
Notices
 The Summer Production will be on Wednesday 20 July at 9.15. The play
will last about 30 mins and afterwards you will be invited for coffee and
homemade cakes (by the staff) in the Rainbow Café. You will be
responsible for your child after the play. All adult family members are
welcome but please do not bring any other children to the production.
We break up for the summer holidays on the same day.
 Don’t forget to put sun cream on your child before you bring them to
preschool and to bring their sunhat.
