The Holocaust is One of the Worst Events in Human History...
The Holocaust, one of the worst events in human history. Due to one man's vision, genocide tore
through Europe without a stop. The man was, Adolf Hitler, an Austrian born man who fought for the
Germans during the First World War. After World War II Hitler joined the Nazi party. After years of
dedication to the party he rose through the ranks and became the leader of the Nazi party. After
advertising the party and expanding it Hitler became a politician, and decided to run for public
office. He was voted as the new Prime Minister of Germany. He changed laws so if the Chancellor
were to die the Prime Minister would become the new Chancellor. Once Hitler became Chancellor
history would be forever changed by his actions. HItler created ... Show more content on

A group of Jewish people flocked to Amsterdam to hide from Nazi Police. The group was two
families, The Frank's and the Van Daan's, among the Frank family was a young gril named Anne
Frank. Anne would keep a diary of her daily life in hiding for about a year and a half. The views she
shares are like none other the world has ever seen. Anne paints a picture worth over a billion words.
Anne shares with us a story almost 11 milllion people closesly experienced from Nazi religious
persecution. Anne and the rest of the group hiding in the Secret Annex manage to avoid Nazi's
through the worst of the undesireable hunt. As the diary goes on her writing matures as she grows
into a young woman. She vividly shares with us the Allied Forces progression during the period.
Just as the war enters its final stages, the Secret Annex is raided by Nazi Police, arrested are all eight
members of the Secret Annex. They are sent to a transit camp run by Jewish trustees with a few
German soldiers guarding the camp, after about 9 months at the transit camp they take the infamous
train ride to Auschwitz Death Camp. After Anne and her sister Margot contract scabies, a disease of
the skin, they are sent to Bergen–Belsen a camp where people are left to die. Anne dies two weeks
before the camp is liberated by the Allied forces. The Allied forces get a stronghold in Europe and
start to push back Nazi forces. Of the 15,000 camps controlled by Nazis one by one the Allied forces

Events That Shaped Me That I Am Today
Some of the things that have shaped me into the person that I'm today are my family, the people that
I grow up around, some of the events In my life. There are many events that have shaped me in the
the person that I'm today. Also the people that I have grown up around has dramatically helped
shape me into the person I am. My family is one of the main things that have helped shape me into
the person I'm today. One of my early memories are of my mom working and going to school at the
same time to take care of eleven kid son her own. We also used two have a garden and we would go
there everyday to take care of the plants. But my mom started to work all of the time so we were no
longer aboul to go there so me and my sister made a garden in the back yard so that when my mom
had time we could still garden. That is why one of my hobbies is gardening.
Some of the events that had help shape me into the person that I'm today is of me and my family
always going places. Most of the time we would go to the beach or hiking. I was told by my sisters
that one time when we were walking up a hill that my older sister corina had slipped and rolled into
some mud and was covered from head to toe in it. Another event that shaped me into the person that
I'm today is when my sister passed away and most of my sister we're not on good terms with her. So
when she passed away my sisters had a lot of regrets about not being aboul to apologise to her. That
me that you should never treat someone badly

Remember To Remember My Life
I will always remember the Summer of 1973. It was special because my Dad took my sister, brother
and I on vacation to visit my Aunt Fina who lived in Orange County while my Mom stayed home
with my two younger sisters. It would be the first time I would feel like I belonged and the first and
last time we would have Dad to ourselves even if it was for three short days.
On Tuesday we packed the yellow 1957 Chevy Bel Air and off we went. The three of us were so
excited and Dad who usually wanted everything quiet while he drove surprisingly let us sing and
talk and of course we took naps in between. We arrived late afternoon at my Aunt Fina's house and
she welcomed us and we greeted her and our cousins, Glenn and George. Uncle Glen was a lawyer
and did not arrive until late. I do not remember seeing him until the next day. She fed us dinner and
the only thing I remember about that dinner was the ranch dressing. It was the best salad dressing I
had ever tasted and Aunt Fina bragged that it was homemade and that the secret was the buttermilk.
Wednesday came and Auntie Fina already had breakfast ready for us. She made the best pancakes.
After we ate we all got into the Chevy and went to Knott's Berry Farm. I remember we had a great
time and Dad let us get souvenirs. My older sister got a little brown jar that was a bank with the
Knott's Berry farm logo on it, my brother got a train whistle, and I got a stuffed Snoopy dog. The
train ride was the best part. After a day at the park we

Persuasive Essay On Water Polo
The U.S. Men's National Water Polo Team are the best athletes in the sport. Although they may not
have the most wins, being the best athletes can also be measured by the amount of effort put in by
the players and programs. They are the best athletes because they persevere, have a great mentality,
and they have numerous medals in many tournaments. First of all, we put in the most effort as a
program. A great example of this is the Olympic Development Program, where people go through
grueling training. The training starts when you are very young, and they start usually scouting for
future Olympians by the age of around 11–14. Another reason they work really hard is because they
are small and weak compared to many European teams, which forces them to do even more strength
training, and to be faster. Although we prepare kids for our National Team better, many countries
start water polo at an earlier age because it is their country's national sport. This is yet another
reason why the team must work even harder to counteract the greater amount of experience many
countries have. Not only is this team playing what is considered the hardest sport in the world, but
they are doing this against athletes much bigger, and more experienced than them. Not ... Show

They are sixth in their overall ranking, and third in medals in the Olympic series. Also, not many
fans realize there are other tournaments outside the Olympics, but there are the Pan American
games, FINA World league, cup, and championships, Darco Cup, and many others. Which the U.S.
does really well in almost every year. Not only on top of the effort, we also have some the best
players in water polo history like Tony Azevedo, Barron Mcquinn, Merrill Moses, Jesse Smith, Alex
Bowen, Luka Capedo, Johnny Hooper, Ben Hallock, and even more. And finally, they also have one
of the best all around teams out there, and they can work hard and play really well

implement TQM as it seemed that this system is based on different norms and values than those of

will first need to introduce it: Total Quality Management is a proactive philosophy of perpetual
improvement of quality, a process for managing quality that must be continuous.

First, it is essential to decompose the concept "Total Quality Management" to clearly understand
its goal: "Total" goes for the fact that quality involves everyone and all activities in the company,
"Quality" means conformance to Requirements " Meeting Customer Requirements" and
"Management" because Quality can and must be managed. 2 The TQM model is based on the
hypothesis that a company's survival is only possible if a competitive level is achieved and
maintained for each of the so called «6 dimensions of quality»: Product & service quality On–time
delivery Fair price Employees satisfaction Product & process safety Environment conservation.

Informative Essay About Swimming
Stop, right now, think of the last time you went swimming, think of how many times you've gone
swimming, how high is that number? It's engraved into our lives, not only is it a fun way to relax,
but swimming is a survival skill needed for many species to use in their lives. Swimming is part of
nature, almost every living species has a natural instinct of how to swim right from birth, but
humans don't, why do you think that is? Over the years, swimming from a competition stand–point
has advanced and changed along with technology. My goal is to learn about: the regulations of
competition swimming (rules and strokes), the technological advances that are pushing athletes to
go beyond old records, and what is happening with swimming in your neighborhood.
Now, have you ever noticed that countless records are being broken and broken again? Some have
called into question the technological advances and if they are helping or hurting our sports. A few
years ago FINA noticed records being broken in large amounts. They took it ... Show more content

administrative official, turn & stroke judge, relay–start judge, chief judge, starter, and the referee

disqualify (DQ) in swimming events such as: going past the underwater limit, incorrect technique
(kick, arms, a combination of kick and arms, etc), leaving the starting block early, etc. In some
cases, swimmers will not be allowed to swim if the have unapproved swim wear, or equipment not
allowed in races (fins, hand paddles, snorkels, kick boards, etc). The only stroke which does not
allow multiple dolphin kicks underwater is breaststroke, the breaststroke uses an underwater pullout,

Leadership And Management : How Good Leadership Can Be A...
Leaders come from many different backgrounds, have different approaches, and have different
styles than other leaders. Every person has something that makes them unique. Over the semester,
we have learned about many different aspects of leadership and management. Putting it all together
now I can analyze the three leaders and managers that I interviewed and determine their differences
and similarities to what my textbooks have taught me. Leadership is often thought of as a trait that
cannot be taught, but it actually can be. There are many techniques, and skills that can be learned to
make a person be a better leader. Some of these skills can include communication, time
management, good analysis, organization and so on. The first person I interviewed is a great
example of how good leadership can be acquired overtime. Michael Patrick is a team lead at Kone
Cranes in Springfield, Ohio. He has worked there for many years, but he hasn't always been in a
leadership position. Starting out Michael was just an average worker, who showed his skills to be
worth more than just an average worker bee within the company. But it wasn't just his skills that he
learned over time with in the company, he learned the skills necessary to be a great leader.
When interviewing Michael, the first question I asked was "What qualities other than knowledge
makes you fit for the job?" His response was "My attitude and passion". Michael claims that you
must have the right attitude when going in to be

mentioned several times throughout the case is exactly what creates value for their customers and
makes their company successful. Their strategy includes creating a home away from home included
as a part of their day–to–day routine that reflects the personalities of their consumers and
community. Consumers are willing to pay more for Starbucks because they have a greater perceived
value through experience. Regarding Porter's Five Forces, Starbucks confronts a variety of

One of the ways Starbucks is approaching innovation is by attempting to tap into the tea market.
This presents a risk or success factor depending on how they approach this. The tea industry has not
been strongly commercialized and is a sacred part of every day life for many cultures. Tapping into
this market could be very successful and a key to continuing Starbucks competitive advantage but
also has the negative affect of crashing and burning if it is not approached with caution in
international markets. However, the future of Starbucks continues to rely on sustaining themselves

Subject: Cost of capital − cost of equity and cost of debt; beta risk; estimation; capital structure. The
task for students is to evaluate the 777 against a financial standard, the investors' required rate of
return. The general objective of this case is to exercise students' skills in estimating corporate
(divisional/project) costs of capital – cost of equity and WACC. Case Questions, Analysis, and
Directions: Read and analyze the case, and prepare an "Executive Summary" of this case. Write it as
if you were writing it to the members of Boeing's Board of Directors, who may not know much

Search for any recent stories about the 777 project and discuss briefly the project's progress and
success.
Notes and Hints: The WACC is equal to the weighted average of the component capital costs, e.g.,
the weight in debt times the after–tax cost of debt financing plus the weight in equity times the
after–tax cost of equity financing corresponding to the leverage: WACC = (D/V)*Rd*(1− tax rate) +
Re*(E/V), where "tax rate" = marginal corporate tax rate (assume 34%), Rd = the before–tax cost of
debt (info about the premium above long–term government rates is provided in tables), Re is the
cost of equity, D and E are the market values of debt and equity. V = (E + D). Remember that the
higher leverage means the higher equity risk (and cost of equity Re) and that you will have to "un–
lever" and "re–lever" your firm's cost of equity and any other firm (pure–plays) when evaluating a
project in a specific division. Note that your firm (and comparable "pure–play" firms) may have
different leverage (capital structures) than the target leverage of your firm and estimated equity
'betas' will reflect the past leverage!! Also, your firm may have several divisions and the individual
divisional projects may have different risks and thus different costs of capital!! Pay special attention
to the information and questions under the "The 777" case segment (pages 6–9). State your
parameters & assumptions very clearly. Someone looking at your analysis should be

History Of Swimming During The Olympic Games
HISTORY OF SWIMMING IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES
According to the Oxford dictionary, the act of swimming is to 'propel one's body through water by
using the limbs or other bodily movement'. Using this form to propel through water is now so
technical and refined that it is classed as an individual or team sport as well as a recreational
activity. One of the most popular sports of the Olympic Games today is swimming – highlighting
events in different strokes like the butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke. Competition is
conducted both in a purpose built swimming pool as well as the open water. Olympic swimming is
one of the most watched and oldest events, competitors from all over the world come together at a
hosted city to race. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only paintings have been found but also written evidence referencing swimming. The first ever
book of swimming was written by a German professor of languages, Nikolaus Wynmann in 1538
called 'The Swimming or A Dialogue on the Act of Swimming'.
The country that was first to take part in swimming both as a competitive sporting activity and as a
recreation was England in the early 18th century. The competitions with time gained popularity
leading to the first indoor swimming pool opening for the public in 1828, at the St George Baths,
London and operated by the National Swimming Society. Improvements made towards swimming
as a sport led to numerous swimming organizations such as Amateur Swimming Association of
Great Britain with as many as 300 regional clubs operating throughout England. By 1882 other
European countries had also established swimming federations with the first European amateur
swimming competitions in 1889.
The style of swimming or stroke that was majorly used was the breaststroke until1844 where two
Native American participants introduced the front crawl. Then in 1873 after winning a local
competition, Sir John Arthur Trudgen debuted a new hand–over stroke – freestyle, which is still
considered today as the most powerful strokes of all swimming styles.
The first women's swimming championship was held in Scotland in 1892 but wasn't introduced to
the Olympic Games until 1912. Men's

Springboard Diving As A Discourse Community
Springboard Diving as a Discourse Community
The world of diving has been around since the 1800's and has been seen at the Olympic games since
1904. It first started off being called "fancy–diving" where the aim was to plunge into the water and
see who could achieve the furthest depth underwater. It then progressed and became more complex
involving specific skills and dives which first only men were allowed to participate in, and later
women came into the society. To this day, diving is one of the most popular events watched at the
Olympic games; however this community remains small and structured because of its intricate
characteristics ("History of Diving", 1). Diving has been influenced by the constant updating of
technology and is incorporated in this world through high schools, colleges and universities as well
as numerous sporting events that occur around the world. A theorist named John Swales analyzes
communities in more detail and states that communities continue to develop and change throughout
the years and further calls these communities, discourse communities.
John Swales defines a discourse community as "a group of people involved in and communicating
about a particular topic, issue, or in a particular field" (Swales, 215). He specifies a discourse
community through academics; however, there are countless discourse communities worldwide that
can be perceived. Swales also analyzes a speech community, and how a discourse community and
speech community are two

Freestyle Swimming Is A Category For A Swim Competition
Freestyle swimming is a category for a swim competition. Swimming has known to be around for
more than 10,000 years and freestyle swimming was one of the most common forms of swimming.
In the 1830's swimming became more of a competitive sport. By 1837 the NSS was holding
swimming competitions in England. The sport grew popular in the 1880's and there was three
hundred regional clubs across the country.
International Swimming Federation (FINA), had the rules of what freestyle is. It had said "freestyle
is just a choice of the swimming technique you can use." (Wikipedia.com) Freestyle races are the
most common of all the styles. Mainly during freestyle races the front crawl technique was used
because it was usually the fastest. Even though during a freestyle race, the racer can chose which
style they want, It is not common to see the dog paddle or the sidestroke. Then besides the front
crawl it is common to see breaststroke, butterfly, and the backstroke being used. But the styles have
the most speed would be the front crawl or the australian, which are the most picks for any races and
competitions.
The first Olympic Games were a male only competition. In Paris is where the second Olympic
Game was held. The 4000 m freestyle competition was the long swimming race until the 10k swim
competition was brought in 2008. FINA the swimming association was formed in 1908. Freestyle
competitions were also swum in different styles. Example : at lower skilled

Building A New Pool At The Pendleton Aquatic Center
On November 1, 2016 the staff of Blue Mountain Community College opened up their pool for use
of two more years by the local swim teams. This summer, the local swim teams including Pendleton
High School, Hermiston High School and the town club, Pendleton Swim Association were
concerned they would not have a pool for this winter's season and for future seasons. After attending
many conferences meetings and fighting for their pool, the swim teams managed to persuade the
college board to keep the Pendleton campus pool open for two more years. With these added two
years it is vital that the teams move quickly to not only raise money for a new pool, but also to
design a reasonable plan that will create interest within the community. Through thorough research I
have come to the conclusion that the best solution to this issue is to build a new pool located next to
the already existing Pendleton Aquatic Center. Placing a new indoor pool next to the Pendleton
Aquatic Center would be cost beneficial because it would already use the existing filtration system.
Not only does the location benefit by allowing the facilities to use already existing equipment, but it
also brings the pool closer to the high school. Having the pool located closer to the school will allow
it to have more uses from the school. As well as keeping the swim teams alive, a new pool will
allow for other recreational and aquatic uses. Finally, pools are not meant to be built for one soul

Who knew one of the greatest swimmers alive was scared of putting his face under water, and he
had to be bribed to swim. Michael's early life consisted of some difficult times, from his parents
being divorced to being diagnosed with ADHD. At age 15, Phelps became a swimming sensation at
the Olympics which started his professional career. Even out of the pool, Michael made some huge
accomplishments and changes to the swim world. The life and career of a great swimmer, Michael
Phelps, serves as a great role model for all aspiring swimmers. From a very young age Michael
started swimming, which was his outlet. These days of his life shaped him for who he is now. When
Michael was only 8 years old, his parents divorced, and when he was 11 years old, he was diagnosed
with ADHD. His childhood seemed normal from playing multiple sports and getting in trouble in
class; however, at home his sisters mainly took care of him, and he had trouble staying ... Show

Phelps has helped run programs to teach little kids how to swim, wrote 2 books, is married, has a
kid, and owns a swim suit company. However he made some mistakes outside of the pool like
drinking under the influence. "Phelps was arrested in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland in
September for driving under the influence, speeding and crossing double lines. He took to Twitter to
discuss this incident, writing "I understand the severity of my actions and take full responsibility."
Phelps also apologized to "everyone I have let down." ("Michael Phelps Biography"). After he was
arrested, he apologized to the public for his wrong doing. The two books he wrote were No Limits:
The Will to Succeed(2008) and Beneath the Surface: My Story (2009). In addition, he's married to
Nicole Johnson and has a son Boomer Phelps. Michael is a outstanding role model for little kids
because he learns from his mistakes, and he has helped the swimming world

Analysis Of Bieiris De Romans And Na Maria

Title: Bieiris de Romans and Na Maria: Who was the lover, and who was the muse?
Thesis: Although many scholars of troubadour works argue that Bieiris de Roman's Na Maria is
written as a profession of love from one woman to another, closer examination confirms this
affection to be platonic friendship in the language of the period, possibly with sociopolitical
motives.

The Effects Of Military Spouses On Family Dynamics, Lack,...
Testimonials Supported by Research Through various testimonials, we realized that military spouses
were expressing similar concerns about the shift in family dynamics, lack of resources, and lack of
support systems. The role reversal was a problem for both female and male military spouses; but
especially more so for the male military spouses. The males seemed to have a tough time accepting
the fact that their female partners were now considered the "breadwinners." They also had a tough
time adjusting to the domestic lifestyle. Again, this goes back to the fact that males are naturally
conditioned to be the "breadwinner." This then makes men feel emasculated; therefore leading to an
increased divorce rate. Resources were not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

promotes individual resiliency and improving psychological functions by identifying and changing
negative thoughts specific to military life and deployment (Kees, Nerenberg, Bachrach, & Sommer,
2015).
The issue with the research is that it is scarce and it does not separate the female spouses from the
male spouses; therefore allowing one to question the validity of the research. There needs to be more
valid research for the military male spouses, such as Jacobs 2014 work entitled Our Pride is the

Solution
Civilians need to help remedy the problem of isolation through psychoeducation by helping elevate
the problem of emasculation by educating and informing male military spouses about their worth in
our nation's security efforts. Simply, civilians need to learn about military culture; rather than

Eighteen–year–old American swimmer Katie Ledecky was just doing what she always does when
she takes to the pool, she gave it her all; but giving her all lead to some extraordinary results at the
FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia this weekend. Ledecky walked away from the
competition with five gold medals, a world record, and created a new thing, the "Ledecky Slam."
"It's really neat to say that you've done something nobody has done before," said Ledecky in an
interview with the Associated Press. "I'll enjoy this for a few days and then I'll get back to work and
hopefully there's more to come." The Bethesda, Maryland teen achieved something that no female
swimmer has ever accomplished. Ledecky won the 200–, 400–, 800–, and 1,500– meter freestyle
individual events, and anchored on the 4x200 free relay, earning her five gold medals at the meet. ...

General Purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose Statement: To inform my audience about the history and development of swim
along with its applications.
Central Idea: Swimming has a long and rich history that dates back way before our generations and
is not always as beneficial as we may think.
Method of Organization: Topical
Introduction
I. (Gain attention and interest) I remember joining the high school swim team back in my
sophomore year. I remember struggling to catch a breath in between every stroke while
simultaneously trying not to breath in any water. To be honest, swimming scared me, but drowning
scared me more.

In 1873, this hybrid stroke became known as the Trudgen stroke.
4. Trudgen effectively changed England's swimming styles from endurance based to more speed
based. iv. Another swimming pioneer, Fredrick Cavill , helped further develop Trudgen's stroke into
an even faster stroke known as the front crawl (livestrong.com).
1. He was an Englishman and a notable swimmer who emigrated to Australia.
2. Like Arthur Trudgen, Cavill observed the natives of the Solomon Islands and found that Trudgen's
stroke would have been significantly faster if he would have incorporated the native's kicking
action.
3. Cavill refined the native's stroke and taught it to his sons, one of which would later use the stroke
in a competition in England.
4. Since England was still using the Trudgen stoke, Cavill's son Richard, destroyed his competition
with the more efficient stroke, which he described as, "crawling through the water"
(usaswimming.org). Hence, the name front crawl.
2. As I previously mentioned, I will describe the four basic strokes that swimming consists of, such
as the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly
A. The Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA), the governing body for international
competitive swimming, regulates everything swim related.
i. FINA, states that, "the four official strokes, breast, back, free and fly, comprise all the events in
national and international competition" (FINA.org) ii. Each stroke is an individual event in

People have been asking what FINA is going to do about the world records set using the now
banned swim suits. Thirty–eight of the forty–two world records have been broken by swimmers
wearing the LZR Racer while it was legal. Twenty–three of these records were set at the 2008
summer Olympics in Beijing with the suits on. Ninety–four percent of the gold medals were won by
people wearing these swim suits and eighty–nine percent of the total medals won were by swimmers
in these illegal suits (Cole, 2008). These statistics say a lot about how much the polyurethane swim
suits have changed the sport of competitive swimming. Records are made to be broken, but it is a
clear indication that these suits should not be allowed when twenty–three world ... Show more

The most plausible option, however, is to place an asterisk mark next to every record set with the
polyurethane swimsuits. Fortunately, FINA has come to this conclusion and from now on the
records set in the LZR Racer swim suits (or in any other now banned swim suit) will remain in their
own separate asterisked category. The old records held before the suits will also stand in a different
category to be broken by people wearing legal swim suits that are FINA approved and are going to
stay FINA approved. FINA has stated that "world records in any competition will only be
recognized as world records if the swimmer was wearing a FINA approved swim suit"(FINA, 2013).
Both of these categories should be equally credible, the only difference is some records are with the
swim suits and some are without the swim suits. This issue has caused a huge riot throughout
competitive swimming. FINA has done the best they can at covering up a mistake that shouldn't
have been made in the first place; swimming, however, will never be the same. If they bring these
suits back, this will all happen again. Why repeat past mistakes?
Legal Advancement in Swimming Accessories
Much has been done to improve swimming as a sport. After much research and experimenting, we
have learned that by making pools deeper and building gutters around the edges of the pool, we can
reduce the amount of waves working against the swimmer. Lane lines also help keep each swimmers
waves in their own

Men's

Improving Performance Management Strategies And Alignment...
RECOMMENDATIONS
The following section provides recommendations based on the data obtained during the study.
Recommendations will be presented for ways to improve consistency in Performance Management
strategies and alignment between and organizational goals, and therefore increase overall
performance.
Timeliness
Under the current system the year end review occurs at the earliest in March. In order to create a
forward thinking performance management approach within the year end review, it should be given
by the end of January. Discussing goals and ways to move forward must occur when the employee
has an opportunity to improve their performance and achieve the established goals.

Managers should receive training on the individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Implement 360–degree Appraisal Although performance cannot be judge alone with 360–degree
assessment, it provides a commentary aspect that will assist an organization in Leadership
Development and Succession Planning. Including the 360–degree appraisal in the performance
management process will provide a broader perspective about an employee's performance and detail
to annual appraisal. In addition, the technique facilitates greater self–development for an employee.
Moreover, it enables an employee to compare his or her self– evaluation about performance with the
perceptions of others.
Management via App
Many companies are transitioning to the use of Apps to provide ongoing feedback to their
employees. General Electric, a company famous for their year–end reviews has scrapped them and
now uses an App process. The new app is called "PD@GE" for "performance development at GE".
Managers are expected to have frequent discussions, called "touch points," on progress toward those
goals and note what was discussed, committed to, and resolved. The app can provide summaries on
command, through typed notes, photographs of a notepad, or even voice recordings. "The focus isn't
on grading how well people are doing, but on constant improvement" (Nilsen, 2015).
Employees can give or request feedback at any point through a feature called "insights," which isn't

Watching the screen, many children and adults are glued to the swimmers that race each other in the
Olympics. The swimmers are young and strong, but many do not know who these swimmers are.
Adding on to what they do not know contains the history of swimming in the glorified Olympics.
The backstory of this sporting event shows the progression and improvement of swimming because
swimming evolved through the Olympics. This includes the beginning, improvement, and modern
Olympic swimming sport. The beginning of swimming in the Olympics dates back to the year 1896
in Athens. This is when swimming was introduced to the Olympic community as a competitive
sport. Only men were allowed to compete against each other in four different freestyle events in

In the St. Louis Olympics of 1904, breastroke was included and considered as a sport. The distances
of the freestyle and backstroke also changed as they used yards instead of meters. Jump a few years,
and women could be found swimming in the 1912 Olympics. This was an improvement to the sport
of swimming because it allowed females to have a part in the Olympics. During the progression
stage of swimming, the addition of closed swimming was introduced. Swimming would no longer
be open swimming (in open bodies of water). The 1924 Olympics in Paris introduced lanes that
were divided with corks and lines at the bottom of the pool. Another improvement that was made
during this progression era was the introduction of the first butterfly in 1934. The first butterfly was
used to bring the arms from the back to the front over the water, not through. Although butterfly was
used to improve breastroke times, the stroke was accepted as a completely new stroke that required
the use of undulating kicks in 1952, 18 years after the first variation of

The debt line is steeper than the equity line because use of debt financing causes EPS to change at a

financial leverage – as the lines diverge from the indifference level the gap between EPS with debt

FINA 3324 Investment Analysis Assignment PART A: 1. Overview of Perth housing Perth, Western

the mid–2000s, the commodities boom resulted in more full–time jobs due to the high salaries

over the years, more than 20,000 full time jobs in the mining industry have been cut in the past two.

The increase in population caused a spike in housing demand, resulting in a rapid increase in
property prices. When property prices are high, people will turn to rental, instead of mortgaging, as
it is more affordable. The decrease in demand for properties will also cause a decrease in rental
prices. At the end of the mining boom, people were leaving the state rapidly due to the increasing
unemployment rate. There were more departures than arrivals in WA in 2014–2015, resulting in
plunging rent and housing prices in Perth (Kakulas 2017). 1.1.2 Government policy Government
policies also play a big role in promoting home ownership, improving affordability as well as
increasing of housing supply. An example is the programs funded by the Commonwealth–State
Housing Agreements or the War and Defense Service Home schemes to increase number of houses.
Between 1947 and 1961, the number of houses increased by 50% as the Commonwealth and State
Governments directly contributed 24% of the total increase in the housing supply over this period
(Fitzgerald, 2017). During this period, the rate of home ownership increased from 53.4% to 70.3%,
which is the largest increase in home ownership in Australia, as seen in Appendix 2. The Federal and
State Government housing policies were successful as they achieved the objective of increasing the
supply of housing and rate of home ownership. A surge in supply of housing is beneficial as it eases

You have to wear a certain type of swimsuit in order to participate. There are 4 types of swim events
: 100m , 200m , and 400m. Participants can be awarded by winning numerous amounts of swim
meets, for example, Michael Phelps won a total of 28 gold medals from the olympics. Which is an
large amount of medals. Swimming is just as every other sport you have to be confident and willing
to give your all in order to be good at it. A quote from the all time best Michael Phelps "Swimming
is normal for me. I'm relaxed. I'm comfortable, and I know my

My View On Swimming : My Life Of Swimming
Swimming is a sport where most people, like myself, start young. I started when I was seven years
old, now bringing me to my eleventh year in the pool. My dad always told people how I went
through every sport and hated them all until i tried out for swimming and I just "fell in love".
Whenever I would hear him tell people this I always though, "No, swim was just the one I hated the
least." I liked the pool and all the friends I made, but swimming back and forth watching the black
line for two straight hours sucked and it still does till this day. You can ask ask just about any
swimmer and no one will say that they love the sets that their coaches give them or they love when
they add time for a straight year, because hormones are a real thing in the female body and plateaus
in swimming have an odd correlation with it. Years go by so fast in swim, that by the time you
consider quitting and too late ad there is not enough time to start a new sport and be good at it, or at
least that was my view on swim. Eleven years is such a long time to do the same sets, with the same
people, in the same pool everyday. To be completely honest, I still do not know why I chose to swim
for this long. I feel that for as many years as I have been swimming, I have only truly enjoyed
myself for the past three months. There is something about senior year that slaps you in the face and
says "Hey, you are only gonna be here for so much longer!" As I have begun reaching out trying to
get recruited to swim, the unfortunate reality is coming to me that right now I am not fast enough to
swim at the schools I want to attend. So what's next. Do I appreciate the years I have already had
and enjoy this last season before I graduate and never wear a cap again in my life? My dad seems to
think that if I really want to get faster, I need to play waterpolo. The problem is that if I play water
polo, I will miss half of my last swim season and risk the possibiliy that I end up getting slower.
From a religious standpoint, I know that I have been blessed in so many ways that I do not deserve,
but if God does not want me to swim in college, why would he show me everything I love about it
right before it comes to an end? Why would he give me

Research Paper On Synchronized Swimming
Synchronized swimming is known as both an art and a sport. It is the most glamorous sport I ever
see, girls have the grace and femininity of a Classic Ballet dancer. They use sparkling costumes and
a lot of waterproof make–up. Swimmers perform a dance routine that starts on the deck of the pool,
where they make poses, and take to the water in ostensibly artistic fashion. The sport requires great
strength, endurance, grace, and timing. They also have to smile the whole time, even if their
teammate kicks them in the face during the performance. Accordingly to this, that is why people like
me, see it as an art thing not a sport. It looks so easy when you see the swimmers doing their
performance without any efforts. But then, my daughter who ... Show more content on

People don't think of the actual athleticism the sport requires. Synchro is an extremely demanding
sport, swimmers have to work at maximum at every practice. Consequently, Synchronized
swimming is harder than regular swimming, because they have to be good swimmers too, fast and
coordinated. They swim miles, contrarily to popular belief. Therefore, they do sprints, they do
anything that will make them faster and stronger. But on top of that, they do tons of eggbeater drills,
which is the kick that they use to stay standing out of the water and do the dancing with their arms.
They have to stay on the count in routine, count the music, check their patterns, make sure they have
good extension, keep our shoulders dry in eggbeater, scull the entire time. Synchro couldn't even be
compared to swimming or dance, because is both and more so is twice harder or even more.
Synchro requires every muscle in the body, most of which are never used in life, so that means even
more training to get those muscles developed. Synchro is all about body control. It needs that the
swimmer has knowledge of a lot of sports at the same time; Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics and
more, but they also need the grace of a ballerina, the expressions of an actress, and the rhythm of a

My Sport Is Swimming
A sport I like the most is currently swimming. I don't really know why I like it, but I enjoy the sport.
I always liked water and I really enjoyed spending my time playing in the bath when I was a kid. I
always liked to spend my time in the water, when the weather was capable. But I started with more
«professional» practices when I was ten years old, and that is a little late compared to usual age you
start your sport activities.
Swimming is often an invidual sport, but it can also be team sport as well. The sport itself is about to
get yourself through the water as fast as you can. The time, of course, is not so important if you are
not a professional swimmer. In swimming you have four different styles, which you use to get
yourself further. The styles are: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. Freestyle has been
invented first, and is the most popular and effective way of swimming. As other styles were invented
over the time, butterfly was the last style to be officially accepted as the one of them. Butterfly itself,
is a fixed version of breaststroke, which is calmer than the new version of the style. Butterfly is
officially the second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In case they break one of the rules, they will be disqualificated. Before the tournament starts, it's
always held a warming up sessions. As often it's just invidual physical activities, to scratch out the
muscles, or the swimming itself in the specially prepeared warm up pool. When the time comes to
the race itself, referee starts everything. He is giving the swimmers signals with whistle. He calls
swimmers to the block with short blasts, and the next long blast is a signal for them to step on the
block. After swimmers are ready to start, referee is giving a signal with the special mechanical
equipment. After the short blast from the machine, the time is going and it's nothing more to

The Novel Girl Of Translation And So The Path Does Not Die...
Both the novel Girl in Translation and So the Path Does Not Die describe immigration stories for
two young girls and illustrate some of the countless sacrifices immigrants are forced to deal with. In
the novel Girl in Translation, Kim and her mother travel to the United States in search of a better
life. They don't have much in Hong Kong especially after the passing of Kim's father, so moving to
New York with the help of Ma's sister provided the greatest opportunity for Kim. Fina on the other
hand, in the novel So the Path Does Not Die, initially flees her country for a very different reason.
Her sister had died from complications during female genetic circumcision so in order to avoid a
similar fate she must flee from her village. Fina being from a rural part of Sierra Leone fights the
odds and is able to obtain an education as well as obtain a visa with the help of NGO workers and
her diamond–dealing admirer. Even though the two characters have different backgrounds, they
share numerous similarities, including the adversities they were forced to face while being in the
United States. Both Kim and Fina were forced into making many sacrifices most of which were
necessary for their overall success. Though necessary, some of the sacrifices that the two
protagonists face pose a wide variety moral dilemmas throughout their respected novels. Much of
what the characters must endure ultimately leads to their success and overall happiness.

The Holocaust Is One Of The Worst Events In Human History...

  • 1. The Holocaust is One of the Worst Events in Human History... The Holocaust, one of the worst events in human history. Due to one man's vision, genocide tore through Europe without a stop. The man was, Adolf Hitler, an Austrian born man who fought for the Germans during the First World War. After World War II Hitler joined the Nazi party. After years of dedication to the party he rose through the ranks and became the leader of the Nazi party. After advertising the party and expanding it Hitler became a politician, and decided to run for public office. He was voted as the new Prime Minister of Germany. He changed laws so if the Chancellor were to die the Prime Minister would become the new Chancellor. Once Hitler became Chancellor history would be forever changed by his actions. HItler created ... The group was two families, The Frank's and the Van Daan's, among the Frank family was a young gril named Anne Frank. Anne would keep a diary of her daily life in hiding for about a year and a half. The views she shares are like none other the world has ever seen. Anne paints a picture worth over a billion words. Anne shares with us a story almost 11 milllion people closesly experienced from Nazi religious persecution. Anne and the rest of the group hiding in the Secret Annex manage to avoid Nazi's through the worst of the undesireable hunt. As the diary goes on her writing matures as she grows into a young woman. She vividly shares with us the Allied Forces progression during the period. Just as the war enters its final stages, the Secret Annex is raided by Nazi Police, arrested are all eight members of the Secret Annex. They are sent to a transit camp run by Jewish trustees with a few German soldiers guarding the camp, after about 9 months at the transit camp they take the infamous train ride to Auschwitz Death Camp. After Anne and her sister Margot contract scabies, a disease of the skin, they are sent to Bergen–Belsen a camp where people are left to die. Anne dies two weeks before the camp is liberated by the Allied forces. The Allied forces get a stronghold in Europe and start to push back Nazi forces. • 2. Events That Shaped Me That I Am Today Some of the things that have shaped me into the person that I'm today are my family, the people that I grow up around, some of the events In my life. There are many events that have shaped me in the the person that I'm today. Also the people that I have grown up around has dramatically helped shape me into the person I am. My family is one of the main things that have helped shape me into the person I'm today. One of my early memories are of my mom working and going to school at the same time to take care of eleven kid son her own. • 3. Remember To Remember My Life I will always remember the Summer of 1973. It was special because my Dad took my sister, brother and I on vacation to visit my Aunt Fina who lived in Orange County while my Mom stayed home with my two younger sisters. It would be the first time I would feel like I belonged and the first and last time we would have Dad to ourselves even if it was for three short days. On Tuesday we packed the yellow 1957 Chevy Bel Air and off we went. The three of us were so excited and Dad who usually wanted everything quiet while he drove surprisingly let us sing and talk and of course we took naps in between. We arrived late afternoon at my Aunt Fina's house and she welcomed us and we greeted her and our cousins, Glenn and George. Uncle Glen was a lawyer and did not arrive until late. I do not remember seeing him until the next day. She fed us dinner and the only thing I remember about that dinner was the ranch dressing. It was the best salad dressing I had ever tasted and Aunt Fina bragged that it was homemade and that the secret was the buttermilk. Wednesday came and Auntie Fina already had breakfast ready for us. She made the best pancakes. After we ate we all got into the Chevy and went to Knott's Berry Farm. I remember we had a great time and Dad let us get souvenirs. My older sister got a little brown jar that was a bank with the Knott's Berry farm logo on it, my brother got a train whistle, and I got a stuffed Snoopy dog. The train ride was the best part. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Water Polo The U.S. Men's National Water Polo Team are the best athletes in the sport. Although they may not have the most wins, being the best athletes can also be measured by the amount of effort put in by the players and programs. They are the best athletes because they persevere, have a great mentality, and they have numerous medals in many tournaments. First of all, we put in the most effort as a program. A great example of this is the Olympic Development Program, where people go through grueling training. The training starts when you are very young, and they start usually scouting for future Olympians by the age of around 11–14. Another reason they work really hard is because they are small and weak compared to many European teams, which forces them to do even more strength training, and to be faster. Although we prepare kids for our National Team better, many countries start water polo at an earlier age because it is their country's national sport. This is yet another reason why the team must work even harder to counteract the greater amount of experience many countries have. Not only is this team playing what is considered the hardest sport in the world, but they are doing this against athletes much bigger, and more experienced than them. Not ... It's engraved into our lives, not only is it a fun way to relax, but swimming is a survival skill needed for many species to use in their lives. Swimming is part of nature, almost every living species has a natural instinct of how to swim right from birth, but humans don't, why do you think that is? Every person has something that makes them unique. Over the semester, we have learned about many different aspects of leadership and management. Putting it all together now I can analyze the three leaders and managers that I interviewed and determine their differences and similarities to what my textbooks have taught me. Leadership is often thought of as a trait that cannot be taught, but it actually can be. There are many techniques, and skills that can be learned to make a person be a better leader. Some of these skills can include communication, time management, good analysis, organization and so on. The first person I interviewed is a great example of how good leadership can be acquired overtime. Michael Patrick is a team lead at Kone Cranes in Springfield, Ohio. He has worked there for many years, but he hasn't always been in a leadership position. • 12. Springboard Diving As A Discourse Community Springboard Diving as a Discourse Community The world of diving has been around since the 1800's and has been seen at the Olympic games since 1904. It first started off being called "fancy–diving" where the aim was to plunge into the water and see who could achieve the furthest depth underwater. It then progressed and became more complex involving specific skills and dives which first only men were allowed to participate in, and later women came into the society. To this day, diving is one of the most popular events watched at the Olympic games; however this community remains small and structured because of its intricate characteristics ("History of Diving", 1). Diving has been influenced by the constant updating of technology and is incorporated in this world through high schools, colleges and universities as well as numerous sporting events that occur around the world. A theorist named John Swales analyzes communities in more detail and states that communities continue to develop and change throughout the years and further calls these communities, discourse communities. John Swales defines a discourse community as "a group of people involved in and communicating about a particular topic, issue, or in a particular field" (Swales, 215). By 1837 the NSS was holding swimming competitions in England. The sport grew popular in the 1880's and there was three hundred regional clubs across the country. International Swimming Federation (FINA), had the rules of what freestyle is. It had said "freestyle is just a choice of the swimming technique you can use." This summer, the local swim teams including Pendleton High School, Hermiston High School and the town club, Pendleton Swim Association were concerned they would not have a pool for this winter's season and for future seasons. After attending many conferences meetings and fighting for their pool, the swim teams managed to persuade the college board to keep the Pendleton campus pool open for two more years. With these added two years it is vital that the teams move quickly to not only raise money for a new pool, but also to design a reasonable plan that will create interest within the community. Through thorough research I have come to the conclusion that the best solution to this issue is to build a new pool located next to the already existing Pendleton Aquatic Center. Placing a new indoor pool next to the Pendleton Aquatic Center would be cost beneficial because it would already use the existing filtration system. Not only does the location benefit by allowing the facilities to use already existing equipment, but it also brings the pool closer to the high school. Testimonials Supported by Research Through various testimonials, we realized that military spouses were expressing similar concerns about the shift in family dynamics, lack of resources, and lack of support systems. The role reversal was a problem for both female and male military spouses; but especially more so for the male military spouses. The males seemed to have a tough time accepting the fact that their female partners were now considered the "breadwinners." They also had a tough time adjusting to the domestic lifestyle. Again, this goes back to the fact that males are naturally conditioned to be the "breadwinner." This then makes men feel emasculated; therefore leading to an increased divorce rate. Trudgen effectively changed England's swimming styles from endurance based to more speed based. iv. Another swimming pioneer, Fredrick Cavill , helped further develop Trudgen's stroke into an even faster stroke known as the front crawl (livestrong.com). 1. He was an Englishman and a notable swimmer who emigrated to Australia. 2. Like Arthur Trudgen, Cavill observed the natives of the Solomon Islands and found that Trudgen's stroke would have been significantly faster if he would have incorporated the native's kicking action. 3. Cavill refined the native's stroke and taught it to his sons, one of which would later use the stroke in a competition in England. 4. Since England was still using the Trudgen stoke, Cavill's son Richard, destroyed his competition with the more efficient stroke, which he described as, "crawling through the water" (usaswimming.org). Hence, the name front crawl.

Twenty–three of these records were set at the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing with the suits on. Ninety–four percent of the gold medals were won by people wearing these swim suits and eighty–nine percent of the total medals won were by swimmers in these illegal suits (Cole, 2008). The most plausible option, however, is to place an asterisk mark next to every record set with the polyurethane swimsuits. Fortunately, FINA has come to this conclusion and from now on the records set in the LZR Racer swim suits (or in any other now banned swim suit) will remain in their own separate asterisked category. The old records held before the suits will also stand in a different category to be broken by people wearing legal swim suits that are FINA approved and are going to stay FINA approved. FINA has stated that "world records in any competition will only be recognized as world records if the swimmer was wearing a FINA approved swim suit"(FINA, 2013). Both of these categories should be equally credible, the only difference is some records are with the swim suits and some are without the swim suits. This issue has caused a huge riot throughout competitive swimming.
