2. I feel as though the dialogue in my preliminary task was very
disorganised and disjointed. The script was not as well
planned out as I had hoped, and so I was much more careful
within my media product.
Through a learning curve, I felt as though there should be
limited dialogue in my main media product- only enough so
that the audience are made aware of the general themes of
the piece.
For my media product, I wrote a script which I had my news
reporter practice multiple times before recording. She was
articulate, and our use of an external microphone combatted
any unwanted ambient noises, such as wind.
DIALOGUE
3. The story of my preliminary task was relatively
confusing. This is because the proper
storyboarding and planning was not done. For
my main media product, I ensured that I had
an accurate storyboard that was easy to
follow, and I was not going to stray from.
PLANNING
4. I used a very limited number of shots within my preliminary
task, and so I felt as though I should expand upon these
within my main media product.
I used more camera techniques in my main product, such as a
focus pull, which created a sense of mystery.
I was much more creative with the location of my main
product compared to the location of my preliminary task. For
my preliminary task, I filmed during school time, within a
classroom. For my main product, however, I scouted locations
and felt as though both the train tracks and the park suited
the piece.
SHOTS AND FILMING
5. In my preliminary I chose two actor who I thought would be
suitable. However, as it turns out, they were both theatre
actors, and so they were naturally over dramatic. This was not
the outcome I had hoped for.
For my main media product, I chose a middle age woman to
read the dialogue, as I felt that she would be articulate and
easy to work with. My extras were given simple instruction
which were easy to follow and so this made the filming
process a whole lot easier. The protagonist was not an
experienced actor, however I felt as though he was mature
enough to be easy to work with. He followed instructions well
and was co operative throughout out many shoots and
reshoots.
