and 8-6 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S OFFENSIVE
Deondre Ray, Cameron University, SR, Forward, Fort Worth, Texas, Crowley HS
Ray was the catalyst for the Aggies in their upset win at No. 6 Midwestern State on Saturday. The Aggie senior
was nearly flawless from the field after going 8-for-10 with his two missed shots coming from beyond the arc.
After recording a double-double in his last two games and being honored as LSC Defensive Player of the Week,
Ray missed his third in a row with seven boards and two steals. In his last three contests, he has averaged 18.7
points per game versus two teams nationally ranked in the top-15. CU’s 80-75 victory was its first in Wichita
Falls since 1990 and the team’s third win against a ranked opponent this season. In 20 starts this season, Ray
is averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per outing.
MEN’S DEFENSIVE
Anthony Adams, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SR, Guard, Pontiac, Mich., Pontiac HS
Adams was instrumental in the Lions snapping their four-game losing streak. He scored nine points in the Lions
98-71 win over Arlington Baptist to start the week. In the second game, Adams game-changing performance
will not as much show up in his stat line, but in the stat line of then ranked No. 22 Tarleton State. The senior
played lock down defense holding the Texans starting guards to 1-of-11 from the floor in the 67-65 win. The
TSU guards entered the game averaging double figures, but were held to a combined seven points, four of
which came from the free throw line. Adams along with teammate Jeremy Jones combined to record the
game-saving steal on the final possession of the game.
WOMEN’S OFFENSIVE
Charron Montgomery, Cameron University, JR, Guard, Red Oak, Texas, DeSoto HS
Montgomery averaged 17 points and shot .667 from the field in CU’s wins over Texas Woman’s and Midwestern
State. The Aggie junior racked up a season-high 18 points while dishing out four assists and four boards in a
home win over TWU. On Saturday, Montgomery had 16 points, three rebounds, and two steals while playing
a season-low 19 minutes against the Mustangs. With two double-digit games this week, she has moved her
season average to 10.1 per game. The Aggies have won their last four contests and shot .464 from the floor in
their last two games.
WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE
DJ Vallier, Cameron University, SR, Forward, Houston, Texas, Klein Oak HS
Vallier continued to have a strong inside presence for the Aggies during their 2-0 week after picking up 10
blocks. The senior had six blocks and five boards in 17 minutes against Texas Woman’s, a team who was
receiving votes in the last WBCA Coaches Poll. The six blocks matched Vallier’s career best and was one away
from a program record in single game. On Saturday, she had four blocks and six boards in only 15 minutes at
Midwestern State. The Aggies claimed a win at Wichita Falls, which was their first since 2005. Vallier and the
Aggies held teams to .338 shooting in the two wins.

  • 1. Integrity | Tradition | Academic Excellence | LONE STAR CONFERENCE | Community | Respect | Commitment LSC BASKETBALL The Lone Star Conference race is heating up with four weeks of league play remaining. Cameron tops the men’s standings with a 6-2 LSC record, while West Texas A&M leads the women’s standings at 8-1. LSC play includes eight men’s games and nine women’s games this week. The LSC men have a 105-54 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are currently 13-9 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 12-8 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The LSC women are 97-75 overall. The women’s squads are currently 20-14 combined against the Heartland, and 8-6 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK MEN’S OFFENSIVE Deondre Ray, Cameron University, SR, Forward, Fort Worth, Texas, Crowley HS Ray was the catalyst for the Aggies in their upset win at No. 6 Midwestern State on Saturday. The Aggie senior was nearly flawless from the field after going 8-for-10 with his two missed shots coming from beyond the arc. After recording a double-double in his last two games and being honored as LSC Defensive Player of the Week, Ray missed his third in a row with seven boards and two steals. In his last three contests, he has averaged 18.7 points per game versus two teams nationally ranked in the top-15. CU’s 80-75 victory was its first in Wichita Falls since 1990 and the team’s third win against a ranked opponent this season. In 20 starts this season, Ray is averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per outing. MEN’S DEFENSIVE Anthony Adams, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SR, Guard, Pontiac, Mich., Pontiac HS Adams was instrumental in the Lions snapping their four-game losing streak. He scored nine points in the Lions 98-71 win over Arlington Baptist to start the week. In the second game, Adams game-changing performance will not as much show up in his stat line, but in the stat line of then ranked No. 22 Tarleton State. The senior played lock down defense holding the Texans starting guards to 1-of-11 from the floor in the 67-65 win. The TSU guards entered the game averaging double figures, but were held to a combined seven points, four of which came from the free throw line.
