Dolly Parton is a country singer as it is a country magazine and the picture of her is large
and prominent. She is dressed appropriately and is doing a relatable pose the genre; she isn’t
shouting or doing anything particularly excitable. Also her name is in large letters next to
her picture as the main cover line, although there are no other cover lines which is unusual
for a music magazine.
4. Interesting artist quotes
Direct address
Punctuation rarely used
No text over the artist’s face(s)
There is a large quote under the artist’s picture which is adjoined to the main cover line
which is the band’s name. the quote says ‘The record that changed my life’ which intrigues
the audience so they then want to read further and discover more about this statement. Also
the artist is looking directly at the reader which draws their attention and there is no text
over the artist’s face so it is not distracting to the reader. Furthermore there is very little
punctuation used other than at the bottom of the page.
