Summary, Evaluation and Comparson of El Paso, Texas and...
Americans are not unfamiliar with the concept of a budget, in fact, most follow a budget on an
everyday basis, however, the topic of a public budget can be overwhelming to many them. Although
many Americans might have a small concept of how the federal budget works, very few are familiar
with their local budget process, and even less familiar to their adopted annual city budget. Every
local budget is as unique as the cities who developed them. The following paper will summarize,
evaluate, and compare El Paso Texas and San Diego California's 2012 budgets. It will compare their
revenues, expenditures, and budget format. It will attempt to analyze the similarities and differences
and determine the causes of such similarities and differences. ... Show more content on

Persuasive Essay On The San Diego Zoo
If your child's birthday is quickly approaching, you might be wondering how to celebrate. A party at
home, whether just as a family or with the kid's friends, can be fun, but sometimes it is fun to do
something beyond just cake and ice cream at home. If you are looking for something other than a
party at home or even just pizza at your kid's favorite pizza parlor, consider these three birthday
party options in San Diego.
San Diego Zoo
For kids who enjoy animals, the San Diego Zoo is a fun birthday celebration option. Their
Australian Outback birthday bash includes admission to the zoo, lunch, and birthday cake. The kids
will also get the opportunity to interact with some of the zoo animals and be entertained by some of
the zoo's staff members. Unfortunately for older children, the Australian Outback Birthday Bash was
only created for children up to 10 years old.
It does not have to be your child's birthday to go to the zoo, though. The San Diego Zoo was ranked
by Trip Advisor as the #1 Zoo in the World in 2015, and it consistently ranks as one of the Top Ten
zoos in the world. Whether you are bringing along a large group of kids for your child's birthday
celebration or you are simply going as a family, you can expect to see some of your favorite
animals, including giant pandas, a Komodo dragon, and flamingos. You can even see unique
animals, such as the okapi, which looks a bit like a mix of a zebra and a giraffe.

The single mention of its portentous name suffices to remind even the most resolute of children of
the caustic stench of sterilizing agents that chokes every last in of the atmosphere and the ominous
gleam of needle raised to be plunged into the brachial plexus artery. Every child has come to
associate their debilitative ailments and recalcitrant illnesses with the white–washed walls of a
hospital. Through the tenacious effort of the San Diego Kids Zoo, our production team managed to
compose a unique channel specially composed to proffer children with a brief moment of respite
from their fear of the hospital. This eminent program features footage of the multifarious animals in
the San Diego Zoo receiving training, veterinarian care, or educational tours, or the fascinating
animals going about their daily business. A variety of hospitals have already employed the
widespread usage of this programming in nearly every operating room and the visitor center. With
the aid of San Diego Kids Zoo Channel, small patients can not only be distracted from their fears or
anxieties of the hospital, but also have the opportunity to learn about animals around the world.

interacting with other animals along with comprehensive investigations of their natural environment,
behaviors, and veterinarian needs in a zoo. We also host a plethora of live interviews with
veterinarian specialists who stream a video to a hospital to actively discuss a variety of features of

The Four Phases Of San Diego
Wyatt Taylor
San Diego Fire Hazard
12/8/15
The four phases of San Diego's history starts the passive margin phase that took place from 400 to
200 million years ago. What is currently San Diego started as sediment produced above an oceanic
rift. This sediment became the underwater edge of the continental crust that would soon break off
from Pangaea to become the North American Continent.
The subduction phase of San Diego County's geologic past starts around 200–150 million years ago
near the end of the Jurassic period when North America Had began breaking off from Pangaea into
its own continent. The North American plate began moving west into the oceanic Faralon Plate,
which was moving east. The Oceanic Faralon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large pools of Magma formed and cooled into Granitic rock and into what we now know as the
Peninsula Range batholiths. After this period, the angle of subduction between the faralon plate and
the North American Plate flattened and this greatly slowed the formation of any more mountains in
San Diego. At 90 million years ago, the mountains that were formed in San Diego country began to
erode and much of the sediment was deposited along the shoreline, extending it to the west. At 70
million years ago, the large coastal plain created by the eroded mountains sank into the ocean and
were eroded, the Cabrillo and point Loma formations were a result of this period. Erosion continues
as the subduction zone flattens and plays even less of a role and geologic activity is relatively calm
until the beginning of the extension phase. The extension phase begins around 28 million years go
when the Faralon plate is replaced by the Pacific plate and subduction stops. At 20 million years ago
the pacific plate begins pulling northwest, which results in stress and tensional force for the area
soon to become the Salton trough. As the North American Plate is pulled west and north, the San
Andreas Fault begins to form along with a rift valley. Some more small mountains in the Salton
Trough were created as a result of magma rising through cracks in the crust that had been thinned as
a result of the tensional stress. The transformational period begins at 10

San Diego Togetherness
The University of San Diego is the most picturesque and interesting school I have ever seen. The
amazing campus flows on top of the massive hills and above the amazing city of San Diego. From
any building or road on campus, you can get a view unattainable anywhere else in the world. The
attribute though, that separates this university from all others, is the history behind it. The rich
religious history gives every part of the campus meaning, not found at many other universities in
America. These religious beliefs give the University of San Diego and academic feel unrivaled by
any other school. The togetherness that is brought by religion is something that is very uncommon
in today's world. When I visited the university the first thing I noticed

'a whale's vagina'." – Ron Burgundy
II. San Diego has been inhabited for over 12000 years by 4 main groups. Over 7500 years before the
Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed. Do you know who these groups are?

Mexico won the right to California from the Spanish in the Mexican War of Independence in 1821.
The war is what ended Spanish control of what was known as New Spain.
1. Mexico began giving land grants for ranches which increased the population of San Diego. San
Diego city was established at the base of Presidio Hills which is now known as Old Town San
Diego. (6)
2. Mexican government established San Diego as a Pueblo with Juan Maria Osuna as the first
magistrate. The population of San Diego began to decrease due to its location being so far away
from the port of Point Loma. In 1838 San Diego lost its Pueblo status. (6)
B. Mexican–American war occurred from 1846 to 1848 and was started after Texas's Annexation
from the Federal Republic of Mexico.
1. The war was ended with the capture of Mexico City by the United States. Part of the Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo was the Mexican Cession of the territory of Alta California.
IV. State of California
A. San Diego was established under United States on March 27th 1850. The City of San Diego was

For my first of two field experiences I chose to visit the San Diego History Center located at Balboa
Park down in San Diego. There were numerous different exhibits that were on display at the time all
relating to the some aspect of the history of San Diego. Most of the exhibits had to do with the roles
that different ethnic groups played in the history of San Diego. Some of the groups represented
included African Americans, Japanese, and Jewish people. There was another exhibit called "Lore
Behind the Roar" which gave detailed information and history regarding the San Diego Zoo. There
were also displace of menus from the San Diego Area that dated back to WWII and before. There

The Drinking Fountain at the University of California,...
On February 15th, 2014, I took a trip to the drinking fountain at the University of California, San
Diego that was assigned by Professor B for my second writing assignment. The drinking fountain is
made out of granite that has been polished. It is situated on a cement pathway across from Yogurt
World and the iconic Triton statue, which is next to the Price Center. The drinking fountain is in
front of the Student Services Center building and next to the fountain, close to several outdoor seats
and tables. The cement pathway is in between grasslands and several trees. On the same walkway, I
see a large American Flag on a flag tower. I would later go on to discovery the rich history

Matthews. It simply states that over a million marines passed their marksmanship training in this
military base from 1917 to 1964 and was deeded to UCSD for higher education purpose. In this
sense, meaning and knowledge are produced through the use of language. In addition, this practice
of showing knowledge is a source of power when using social institutions to express thoughts on
society. As I gaze on the drinking fountain, I suddenly notice that some other viewers at the site
could not see the push button on the side of the drinking fountain from their viewing angles to the
fountain and therefore falsely mislead into the assumption that the drinking fountain for merely
décor rather than a functional fountain. This realization strikes a chord in me as I realize that
different perspectives on the drinking fountain and the site form a network of power and
relationships that can shape meanings and create differences. It is clear that the meanings of the
drinking fountain are "produced through the complex negotiations that make up social process and
practices through which we produce and interpret images." (Cartwright 49)
Continuing my journey at the fountain, I decide to bend down to touch the side of the monument to
feel the texture of the polished granite material. Suddenly, I hear someone yelling behind me. I turn
around right away and find out that the call was not directed

Part A San Diego– Tijuana and the Dominican Republic–Haiti populations have experienced the
same patterns in recent history. San Diego and Tijuana were once seamless. Once the Northern area
of San Diego was colonized and defined, the identities of both sides of the American border changed
over time. The San Diego gained and American identity and, during the Great Depression, deported
Mexican immigrants to Mexico, some of whom were American citizens. Later on, when San Diego

They are similar because they both have historic roots that differ from the norm, being established
inland. Neither city has a sea port. However, both cities have thrived utilizing the exportation of
goods. They were also laid out according to Spanish architectural expectations during their
colonization and have multiple centers. Both cities have issues with unchecked population growth,
overcrowding and pollution from the massive amount of polluting automotive traffic and
manufacturing industries. The cities are both primate cities within their countries, being the political,
social and economic centers of each. On the outskirts of both cities people are found living in
poverty, lacking available jobs, education, housing and sometimes basic sanitation services. The
distribution of wealth in both cities is large, with the high class populations living centrally with
access to services expected of tourists (sanitation, public transportation, etc.). Since Mexico City has
a rich Aztec history and San José has its beautiful natural attractions, both cities benefit from the
tourism their history and natural aspects attract from around the world. Do you think their central

The San Diego Quick Assessment
At the middle school level, it is difficult to administer extensive interminable assessments, when you
are trying to determine readability for over 100 students. Many middle school teachers rely on the
NWEA/MAP assessment and "Standard of Learning" to provide them with their student's Lexile
levels and readability. The problem with using data from the NWEA/MAP assessment and SOL
scores is that teachers only have data from the previous year and are unable to assess the factors that
contributed to the students testing scores. A quick and easy assessment that can be given the first
week of school, which takes 10 minutes or less and shows word recognition as well as readability is
the San Diego Quick Assessment. The San Diego quick assessment was originally devised by
Margaret La pray and Ramon Ross and published in the "Journal of Reading" in 1969, as a quick
way to gauge a student's readability. Words were selected for 13–grade level, Pre–Primer through
11th grade by drawing words randomly from basal reader glossaries. (Blackley) Words were also
drawn from the glossaries of basic readers and from 1931 "Teacher's Word Book of 20,000 Words
by E.L. Thorndike. According, to Margaret La Pray and Ross the San Diego Quick Assessment has
two uses, to determine a reading level and to detect errors in word analysis. The test can also be used
to group students for corrective practice or to select appropriate reading materials for those students.
The San Diego Assessment should be

The Human Society Of San Diego
As we grow up in life, we often wonder what it would be like to have a pet. Some parents will go
out to the far limits to get that one of a kind dog. Others will just tell their children that having an
animal takes responsibility. Whether it is one or the other, we still have that thought in our head. In
this paper, I want to look at one place where a child or parents can get that chance to make that
dream of having a pet at home a reality. I welcome you to the humane society of San Diego. I often
said to myself, this is where are the stray animals go. Not true, when you take a look some maybe
stray but others come from a home that just plain got tired of them. Let me show you the journey of
what the humane society of San Diego can do when it comes to looking at that pet to come home
with you.
History of the San Diego Human Society As we all know, we must look first at the past of the
humane society. San Diego is just one of many that are around and offer so many. The question is,
where did they get there beginnings from? Well lets go back to March of 1880, when San Diego was
still in it's beginning phases of growing. This was the start of the San Diego humane society.
Looking that far back, you can see that even than the importance of animals were looked at. From
that time it was the start of what would be a huge organization that was solely for the treatment of
the animal. From that day in March, the humane society has made its promise to training not only

Pre Visit At San Diego
Pre–Visit
Experience Goal
Arriving in San Diego, CA the prospective customer was hoping to organize a casual dinner for a
group of twelve students. Without much knowledge of the city the customer hoped to find a
convenient, affordable option which would contribute positively to the experience of all parties
joining. Not looking for a tourist–attraction or a chain restaurant the options were limited to a local
favorite within downtown San Diego. Ideally, this restaurant would feature a fairly broad menu,
large portions, and provide a unique dining experience. This selection criteria led the prospective
customer to choose Sixth Avenue Bistro–a casual and contemporary family–style restaurant.
Brand Research In selecting Sixth Avenue Bistro the prospective customer collected data through a
variety of social media platforms. The customer started with The Bistro's official website and
proceeded to Yelp!, TripAdvisor, and Facebook. By all accounts Sixth Avenue Bistro maintained a
reputation of casual accommodation with "welcoming staff" and an excellent menu. The Bistro's
website–http://www.sixthavenuebistro.com–is polished and user–friendly featuring company
information, a variety of menus as well as pictures of signature dishes. What intrigued the customer
throughout his research was the consistency in the rankings given by former patrons. "Don't miss it"

Analysis Of Seaworld And San Diego
Summary SeaWorld in San Diego, California recently announced its facility has plans to phase out
its killer whale shows. This decision is what PETA and other oppositions of SeaWorld has been
seeking, but there is no news of ending these shows at their Orlando and San Antonio locations.
There is Federal legislation in the works to ban orca breeding, importing and exporting them for
public display. This legislation is called the Orca Act and is still in its early stages of proposal.
Passing of the Orca Act would most likely be the only way Orlando would stop its killer whale
shows.
Stakeholders
Shareholders: SeaWorld's shareholders have seen a steady decline in revenues over the past couple
years, mainly because of the controversy associated with their killer whales shows. Not continuing
these steps in Orlando or San Antonio, will continue to decrease revenue.
Killer Whales: It is not natural for killer whales to perform shows and interact with humans.
Stopping these shows in San Diego will allow them to live more relaxed and more natural.
PETA: This is a small victory for PETA in its efforts against SeaWorld. With this decision, PETA
will continue to push SeaWorld for more animal rights and stoppage of using animals for
entertainment.
Employees: Jobs within the San Diego facility with be shifted or cut. The need for animal trainers
and performers will be cut. The "face of the company" employees at SeaWorld also get asked the
most questions and sometimes

a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we anticipated and
expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the participating teams.
We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother's birthday, which was on
November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team's t–shirt for the Tennessee

the music, the competition, the excitement of the game, and the liveliness and spontaneous actions

San Diego Naval Training Center Essay
The Naval Training Center (NTC) influenced the history of San Diego by not only bringing in
money, people, and importance into it, but also using San Diego's heritage, and building upon it. It
became the Naval Training Center in 1944, and filled 435 acres in 1955. However, just 40 odd years
later, the city of San Diego began leasing a number of the buildings. Eventually it closed in 1997.

The desire that San Diego had for a naval base came from as far back as 1893, as stated by Justin

Once they achieved a coaling station, the City received a donation from Kettner to "deepen the bay
for future Naval use." (Ruhge) This meant that with a deeper bay, bigger ships would be able to

With the aid of another influential figure, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was the Assistant Secretary of
the Navy at the time. They put renewed effort into San Diego having a training station. Eventually,
in 1918 Captain Arthur MacArthur selected a site in Point Loma. (Rughe) At this point the citizens
were able to acquire enough money to buy the 214 acres of land. Furthermore, the city deeded this
land to the Navy, and Congress approved 2 million dollars in funds for this project.
Even though Word War I postponed the construction, the bases construction was completed, and
placed in commission on 1 June, 1923. (San Diego Naval Historical Association) Its "maximum
recruit strength was 1,500." (San Diego Naval Historical Association) Furthermore, over its 70 year
lifespan, it expanded to nearly 550 acres, and included 300 buildings. Moreover, in the early 1990's,
it held "more than a sixth of the Navy's entire fleet," with 133,000 uniformed personnel and 30,000

Reagan, a conservative thought that the federal government had far too much power over cities,
which he believed caused many of the problems cities faced. With republican control of both the
executive and congressional branches of government, the GOP decided to give cities and local
government more authority of their economic development. "The GOP takeover is one of the
historic movements of the 20th century in terms of decentralizing the power of federal authorities
and giving it back to localities and states," (CQ). This new found power allowed cities to focus on

The Pure Water project, a project that plans to construct three recycling plants to produce San
Diego's water supply, only requires $3.5 billion to get started – inexpensive in comparison to the
amount of money it takes to import, partially purify, and desalinate water. An example of the ever–
growing expense of imported water can be found in the article "Council unanimously approves
purifying sewage into drinking water", which was published to UT San Diego on November 18,
2014. In this informational article, author David Garrick states, "Councilman Scott Sherman said
San Diego must fight back against sharply rising costs of imported water." Potable water is the best
way to combat the increasing prices of imported water. Rather than relying on water from the
Colorado River – San Diego's main supplier – existing water can be purified and reused. In the same
article, it is also stated that, "In addition, recycling wastewater... would allow the city to avoid
spending about $2.1 billion in upgrades needed at the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant"
(Garrick). As mentioned in the quotation, San Diego is already spending generous amounts of
money on water. This can be remedied, however, with the implication of potable water, which costs
significantly less. Another one of San Diego's pricey water sources is desalination. Desalination is
the high cost, high energy process of purifying salt water to make it drinkable. In the nonfiction
article "OC Coastkeeper: San Diego Swindled By Desalination, Don't Let OC Be Next", published
on February 3, 2016 to voiceofoc.org by author Ray Hiemstra, it is stated that, "San Diego is forced
to pay for the most expensive water on the market whether they need it or not", in reference to the
desalination plant managed by

Essay On San Diego
With its year–round tropical climate, San Diego, California, is one of the most popular vacation
spots for tourists around the globe. From sailing and hiking to surfing and skiing, the city offers a
plethora of activities. What's more is that San Diego is a hop, skip and a jump away from Tijuana–an
exciting alternative to California living. Seaport Village is home to several luxury yachts as well as a
wide variety of charter services. Spend a day at sea whale watching or just kick back and enjoy San
Diego's beautiful coastline. Head to what is considered North County and pay a visit to the Del Mar
Fairgrounds. From mid–July to early September, the fairgrounds are converted into the legendary

It has earned this reputation for good reason as its coastline offers some of California's best natural
beaches. There are plenty of beach communities that seem to cater to every stereotype out there.
First off, there is the overcrowded (but fabulous) Pacific Beach, which offers party–goers a wide
variety of hot spots all within walking distance from each other. Travel a little south and you will hit
Mission Beach, which offers all the perks of P.B. with the added luxury of Belmont Park. Keep
heading south and you will end up in Ocean Beach, a small community filled with vintage shops,
dive bars, and some wonderful undiscovered little cafes and restaurants. San Diego Bay is yet
another popular destination, known mainly for its ample water–sports. And with neighboring
mountain ranges in close proximity, San Diego is ideal for avid skiers and snowboarders alike. The
kiddos will enjoy the famous San Diego Zoo, Wildlife Park, and Legoland. And adults will find a
playground of their own as the county also offers several Indian gaming sites, casinos and luxury

San Diego Environmental Impacts
Climate change is affecting humans every day, and yet most of us have found that every region of
the globe is affected in some way or another. For us here in San Diego, California, in the Western
Hemisphere, on the west coast, United States, North America, that impact is felt mostly with rising
sea temperatures and rising sea levels. There are noticeable predictions that by 2050, rising sea
levels here will rise as stated: ""At least a 16 inch sea level rise is expected in San Diego, Ca by
2050, with a projected rise of 50% by the turn of the century." San Diego, Ca has several beaches
locally therefore this is a concern here. There are multiple beachfront properties and businesses that
would be impacted by loss of profit margins, and potentially flooding if this was to occur. The
property losses would potentially be in the millions and this does not take into consideration the
impact that sea mammals would feel. By 2100, the projected sea level rise (SLR) would be 5 meters
above normal...and some widely projected margins estimate those 7–23 inches possible for SLR in
the coming years. The Fourth Assessment (4AR) by the IPCC of 2001 gives these projections for the
21st. century. Certainly not current by any means however these projections are for this current
century. Any sea level rise would have serious impacts on creeks, streams, rivers estuaries,
watersheds and local beaches. These would be the long–term and ... Show more content on

therefore making it more polluted. This has an adverse affect on sea life as it will dissolve the

effects would be changing rain patterns, warming air and rising sea temperatures, as well as

San Diego Wildfires: Smoke and Ash Debris a Public Health Concern
San Diego Wildfires
The county of San Diego is a unique haven to hundreds of state and federally recognized
endangered, threatened, or rare plant and animal species (The Nature Conservancy, n.d.). San Diego
is also a territory with a long history of environmentally catastrophic wildfires. The Cedar and Witch
Creek Fires are two of the most recent and notorious wildfires in California history for their degree
of damage in terms of acreage burned and overall expense (The City of San Diego, n.d.). During and
after these massive wildfire events is a significant public health concern related to respiratory health
from the effects of smoke and ash debris. The challenges presented in mitigating and managing
these health issues extends into county budget, public education, and cohesive multi–agency
prevention and recovery efforts. Moreover, participatory efforts from the residents of San Diego
County is key to the success of mitigating health risks presented by wildfire smoke and ash debris
(Phillips, 2009, p. 420).
Background
The Cedar Fire (2003) was one of the largest and deadliest wildland fires in California history
burning nearly 300,000 acres in San Diego County and killing 15, including 1 firefighter. A lost
hiker accidently set this fire from survival methods attempted with a flare. It resulted in evacuations
of thousands of San Diego residents and destroyed approximately 2400 homes (CALFIRE, 2016).

The San Diego Charges Vs. The Tennessee Titians Game
Event Description: I attended the San Diego Charges vs. the Tennessee Titians game on November
6, 2016 at 1:15 p.m. We entered the stadium about 9:45 a.m. to setup for our tailgate party. We found
a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we anticipated and
expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the participating teams.
We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother's birthday, which was on
November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team's t–shirt for the Tennessee
Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the team tailgating. The crowd,
the music, the competition, the excitement of the game, and the liveliness and spontaneous actions
of the spectators were noteworthy. The crowd, the enthusiasm of the people and the superb weather
made it an interesting and exciting event Core Competencies of the Company, Act, and/or Facility: I

global warming is that the average surface temperature of the water has increased 3 degrees since

open space scattered throughout the city and giving it a mountainous geography. Due to this
scattered open space, it causes a significant change in climate over short geographical distances. The

separate the developed areas. The city also runs through two fault zones, the Rose Canyon and Point

As a person who has now lived in San Diego for over 22 years and a Latino, it is impossible not to

understanding of this, we must start at the beginning.

San Diego Drought
How does the California drought affect local ecotourism in San Diego? Water has been around for
almost as long the Earth has been around, approximately 4.6 billion years ago. In some shape or
form, water has continued to be an important resource since the formation of Earth and continues to
be today as well. Water being a finite abundant substance, it covers up approximately 70 percent of
the Earth's surface. It is without a doubt an essential resource needed to sustain life on Earth.
Nonetheless, not only is water an important resource for all living organisms for subsistence, but it
also serves other purposes: agriculture purposes, medical and health purposes, tourism and much
more. However, with the recent emergence of the issue surrounding ... Show more content on

California is a geographically dry area and water shortage has been a serious issue affecting the state
since 2012. California has the highest water consumption compared to all the other states and this
partly due to the reason that roughly eighty–percent of the state's water is used towards agriculture;
California being the largest agricultural export distributor in the country (Green). Since of 2012,
California has been on a severe four–year drought and has had immediate plans and regulations in
order to reduce the impact it has. According to California Water Science Center, "2014 was the third
driest year on record" and following that, "2015 [was] the warmest year on record." The recent
record breaking climate has contributed to the drought of California and as a result has had
detrimental impacts to the environment. Severe climate during a shortage of water can lead to
drastic problems because it can lead to an increase of evapotranspiration and increase of
precipitation falling as rain rather than snow. Having precipitation falling more often as rain rather
than snow during warm weather can lead to early snowmelt which can unbalance the water supply
demands (Causes of Drought). During a drought, occasionally humans are impacted, but more
importantly the environment experiences the impacts harshly. Wildlife habitat lost, inadequate food
and water

Almost anyone would desire a cooling fan, which could save on the electric bill in the summer. An
additional benefit is a little known fact: most people don't know that they could benefit from a

this paper I intend to inform the reader on what makes the Central Library unique and why it is a

It's large dome roof made up of interconnected steel beams give it a look that I can only describe as

crucial role by giving the opposite side of the building an unconventional look that catches the eye.
The last key component of the Central Library is the California inspired landscape that brings the
observer back to the realization that they are still in San Diego. The Central Library would not hold
such value if it were not for the perfect relationship between the parts described. Without these key
components it would just be another building that doesn't grab your eye. However because it

Homelessness In San Diego
In America's finest city, vivid thoughts of beaches, sunshine, and excitement all come to mind.
Pictures that do not come to mind are the streets that are lined with tents, trash bags full of clothes,

perpetuates to expand and worsen. Homelessness has been a growing issue these past few years in
San Diego and residents are finally speaking out about it. This is a concern that requires to be taken
care in one way or another. Components of homelessness include lack of shelter, food, and medical
care. One's who suffer from homelessness are all different ages, races, and have a unique story of
their own. It is time for the city of San Diego to find a solution to this matter of contention and
pursue to put an end to homelessness. Homeless is not just an issue in the city of San Diego but
throughout the entire country. An unimaginable situation that happens to countless people all across
America. According to Social Solutions, "Over 564,708 people in the U.S. are homeless...over half a

A Survey of Diabetics in San Diego
INTRODUCTION The entire concept of diabetes is about living on the edge of trouble. While Type
1 Diabetes is a biological condition associated with a fundamental flaw in the way one's body
produces or reacts to insulin a substance that controls and monitors sugar in the blood and cells Type
2 Diabetes is a social and cultural condition. Those most likely groups of people to have to live with
it are persons of non–white nationalities (increasingly Hispanics and Asians) who live at or below
the US poverty level and/or who have not achieved a very high level of educational advancement
(California Department of Public Health, 2010). And in places like San Diego County, California,
this puts a major number of people, young and old, quite literally on the border of health and
wellness disasters. "Diabetes mellitus," notes a 2010 San Diego health assessment posting, "is a
disease of abnormal carbohydrate metabolism, in which the level of blood glucose, or blood sugar,
is above normal. The disease occurs when the body is unable to produce or use insulin, a hormone
that helps move glucose from the blood into other cells throughout the body" (San Diego County,
n.d.). Type 1 generally reflects a naturally occurring demonstration of this; Type 2 is associated with
adjustments that the body makes as a result of sugar and fat intake, and thus aligned very directly
with obesity and poor health and dietary concerns. An estimated 90% to 95% of the conditions are
now Type 2, contributing

San Diego Beaches In Florida
San Diego is a city in California that has about 17 miles of coastline, which offers a variety of
beaches ("San Diego Beaches"). Pacific Ocean is the ocean that borders coast in California. Three
major rock formations can be found in the North County beaches in San Diego, which are Bay Point
Formation, the Torrey Sandstone, and Del Mar Formation. Bay Point Formation is about 100,000
years old, which is also the youngest rock formation, and it has a higher possibility for erosion to
occur (Metzler). The Torrey Sandstone is about 46 million years old, it has a lighter color than Bay
Point Formation, and it is hard enough to provide protection for the softer Bay Point Formation
(Metzler). Del Mar Formation is slightly older than the Torrey Sand ... Show more content on

The main reason for the difference is that the two places are at different "sides", one in the east, the
other in the west, and because of this difference, the weather at these places can also have a big
effect on the beaches. Erosion is a process that occurs at both the beaches in San Diego and
Northeast Florida. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs on
the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities cause
erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can wash away
the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures near the
shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the shorelines, people
have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and dunes erosion at both
places. In San Diego, people have built sea walls and placed riprap along the shorelines to help
prevent erosion. Sea walls are usually made up of boulders, steels, and concrete and they are more
expensive to build than the riprap (Metzler). Riprap is placed on the sand along to the shorelines of
the beach, it is usually made up of rocks, and it is less expensive than building sea walls (Metzler).
The purpose of both the sea walls and riprap is to help protect the bluffs

Living in Jacksonville, NC versus Living in San Diego, Ca
Compare and Contrast Final Draft
Samantha Deal As a military brat, I was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina; and have
lived here for most of my life. Recently our family was stationed in San Diego, California, and the
move was a great eye–opener for me. When I moved to San Diego, I was surprised by the diversity
of cultures, the abundance of activities, and how the crowds of people never stopped. It is an
excellent place for people who enjoy being amongst other people; there is never a lack of
entertainment day or night. Jacksonville, North Carolina on the other hand, is more for people who
like a relaxed and quiet family oriented lifestyle. The city of Jacksonville, and Camp Lejeune
Marine Corps base are home to 170,000 Marines, Sailors, retirees, and civilians. There are plenty of
things to do in Jacksonville, the only problem is you have to look for them. For example, on the
Jacksonville website, there are seafood festivals to attend, crab boils, and beach events among other
things. We have deep sea fishing for blue marlin with a top prize of $1,000,000 which attracts
people from all over the country. People can join the "Clean and Green Jacksonville initiative"
which entails improving, and maintaining the parks, roadways, and landscapes. Also, the Sturgeon

  • 1. Summary, Evaluation and Comparson of El Paso, Texas and... Americans are not unfamiliar with the concept of a budget, in fact, most follow a budget on an everyday basis, however, the topic of a public budget can be overwhelming to many them. Although many Americans might have a small concept of how the federal budget works, very few are familiar with their local budget process, and even less familiar to their adopted annual city budget. Every local budget is as unique as the cities who developed them. The following paper will summarize, evaluate, and compare El Paso Texas and San Diego California's 2012 budgets. It will compare their revenues, expenditures, and budget format. It will attempt to analyze the similarities and differences and determine the causes of such similarities and differences. ... Fort Bliss is one of the largest military facilities of the United States Army and is still growing. El Paso is known as the "Sun City" do to the fact that the sun shines 300 days a year (www.elpasotexas.gov – Home, 2013). San Diego fiscal year begins on July 1st. There are four major players in San Diego Budget process: The Mayor, City Council, the Office of the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst (IBA), and the citizens of San Diego. • 3. Persuasive Essay On The San Diego Zoo If your child's birthday is quickly approaching, you might be wondering how to celebrate. A party at home, whether just as a family or with the kid's friends, can be fun, but sometimes it is fun to do something beyond just cake and ice cream at home. If you are looking for something other than a party at home or even just pizza at your kid's favorite pizza parlor, consider these three birthday party options in San Diego. San Diego Zoo For kids who enjoy animals, the San Diego Zoo is a fun birthday celebration option. Their Australian Outback birthday bash includes admission to the zoo, lunch, and birthday cake. The kids will also get the opportunity to interact with some of the zoo animals and be entertained by some of the zoo's staff members. Unfortunately for older children, the Australian Outback Birthday Bash was only created for children up to 10 years old. It does not have to be your child's birthday to go to the zoo, though. The San Diego Zoo was ranked by Trip Advisor as the #1 Zoo in the World in 2015, and it consistently ranks as one of the Top Ten zoos in the world. Whether you are bringing along a large group of kids for your child's birthday celebration or you are simply going as a family, you can expect to see some of your favorite animals, including giant pandas, a Komodo dragon, and flamingos. You can even see unique animals, such as the okapi, which looks a bit like a mix of a zebra and a giraffe. Reuben H. Fleet Science Center If your child is a fan of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

San Diego Kid Zoo The single mention of its portentous name suffices to remind even the most resolute of children of the caustic stench of sterilizing agents that chokes every last in of the atmosphere and the ominous gleam of needle raised to be plunged into the brachial plexus artery. Every child has come to associate their debilitative ailments and recalcitrant illnesses with the white–washed walls of a hospital. Through the tenacious effort of the San Diego Kids Zoo, our production team managed to compose a unique channel specially composed to proffer children with a brief moment of respite from their fear of the hospital. This eminent program features footage of the multifarious animals in the San Diego Zoo receiving training, veterinarian care, or educational tours, or the fascinating animals going about their daily business. A variety of hospitals have already employed the widespread usage of this programming in nearly every operating room and the visitor center. • 7. The Four Phases Of San Diego Wyatt Taylor San Diego Fire Hazard 12/8/15 The four phases of San Diego's history starts the passive margin phase that took place from 400 to 200 million years ago. What is currently San Diego started as sediment produced above an oceanic rift. This sediment became the underwater edge of the continental crust that would soon break off from Pangaea to become the North American Continent. The subduction phase of San Diego County's geologic past starts around 200–150 million years ago near the end of the Jurassic period when North America Had began breaking off from Pangaea into its own continent. The North American plate began moving west into the oceanic Faralon Plate, which was moving east. The Oceanic Faralon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Large pools of Magma formed and cooled into Granitic rock and into what we now know as the Peninsula Range batholiths. After this period, the angle of subduction between the faralon plate and the North American Plate flattened and this greatly slowed the formation of any more mountains in San Diego. At 90 million years ago, the mountains that were formed in San Diego country began to erode and much of the sediment was deposited along the shoreline, extending it to the west. At 70 million years ago, the large coastal plain created by the eroded mountains sank into the ocean and were eroded, the Cabrillo and point Loma formations were a result of this period. Erosion continues as the subduction zone flattens and plays even less of a role and geologic activity is relatively calm until the beginning of the extension phase. The extension phase begins around 28 million years go when the Faralon plate is replaced by the Pacific plate and subduction stops. At 20 million years ago the pacific plate begins pulling northwest, which results in stress and tensional force for the area soon to become the Salton trough. As the North American Plate is pulled west and north, the San Andreas Fault begins to form along with a rift valley. Some more small mountains in the Salton Trough were created as a result of magma rising through cracks in the crust that had been thinned as a result of the tensional stress. The amazing campus flows on top of the massive hills and above the amazing city of San Diego. From any building or road on campus, you can get a view unattainable anywhere else in the world. The attribute though, that separates this university from all others, is the history behind it. The rich religious history gives every part of the campus meaning, not found at many other universities in America. These religious beliefs give the University of San Diego and academic feel unrivaled by any other school. The togetherness that is brought by religion is something that is very uncommon in today's world. When I visited the university the first thing I noticed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Drinking Fountain at the University of California,... On February 15th, 2014, I took a trip to the drinking fountain at the University of California, San Diego that was assigned by Professor B for my second writing assignment. The drinking fountain is made out of granite that has been polished. It is situated on a cement pathway across from Yogurt World and the iconic Triton statue, which is next to the Price Center. The drinking fountain is in front of the Student Services Center building and next to the fountain, close to several outdoor seats and tables. The cement pathway is in between grasslands and several trees. On the same walkway, I see a large American Flag on a flag tower. It simply states that over a million marines passed their marksmanship training in this military base from 1917 to 1964 and was deeded to UCSD for higher education purpose. In this sense, meaning and knowledge are produced through the use of language. In addition, this practice of showing knowledge is a source of power when using social institutions to express thoughts on society. As I gaze on the drinking fountain, I suddenly notice that some other viewers at the site could not see the push button on the side of the drinking fountain from their viewing angles to the fountain and therefore falsely mislead into the assumption that the drinking fountain for merely décor rather than a functional fountain. This realization strikes a chord in me as I realize that different perspectives on the drinking fountain and the site form a network of power and relationships that can shape meanings and create differences. It is clear that the meanings of the drinking fountain are "produced through the complex negotiations that make up social process and practices through which we produce and interpret images." (Cartwright 49) Continuing my journey at the fountain, I decide to bend down to touch the side of the monument to feel the texture of the polished granite material. Once the Northern area of San Diego was colonized and defined, the identities of both sides of the American border changed over time. The San Diego gained and American identity and, during the Great Depression, deported Mexican immigrants to Mexico, some of whom were American citizens. Later on, when San Diego once again began to flourish, employment opportunities lured illegal immigrant back to the area, while the federal government turned a blind eye. They are similar because they both have historic roots that differ from the norm, being established inland. Neither city has a sea port. However, both cities have thrived utilizing the exportation of goods. They were also laid out according to Spanish architectural expectations during their colonization and have multiple centers. Both cities have issues with unchecked population growth, overcrowding and pollution from the massive amount of polluting automotive traffic and manufacturing industries. The cities are both primate cities within their countries, being the political, social and economic centers of each. On the outskirts of both cities people are found living in poverty, lacking available jobs, education, housing and sometimes basic sanitation services. The distribution of wealth in both cities is large, with the high class populations living centrally with access to services expected of tourists (sanitation, public transportation, etc.). Since Mexico City has a rich Aztec history and San José has its beautiful natural attractions, both cities benefit from the tourism their history and natural aspects attract from around the world. • 19. The San Diego Quick Assessment At the middle school level, it is difficult to administer extensive interminable assessments, when you are trying to determine readability for over 100 students. Many middle school teachers rely on the NWEA/MAP assessment and "Standard of Learning" to provide them with their student's Lexile levels and readability. The problem with using data from the NWEA/MAP assessment and SOL scores is that teachers only have data from the previous year and are unable to assess the factors that contributed to the students testing scores. A quick and easy assessment that can be given the first week of school, which takes 10 minutes or less and shows word recognition as well as readability is the San Diego Quick Assessment. The San Diego quick assessment was originally devised by Margaret La pray and Ramon Ross and published in the "Journal of Reading" in 1969, as a quick way to gauge a student's readability. Words were selected for 13–grade level, Pre–Primer through 11th grade by drawing words randomly from basal reader glossaries. (Blackley) Words were also drawn from the glossaries of basic readers and from 1931 "Teacher's Word Book of 20,000 Words by E.L. Thorndike. According, to Margaret La Pray and Ross the San Diego Quick Assessment has two uses, to determine a reading level and to detect errors in word analysis. The test can also be used to group students for corrective practice or to select appropriate reading materials for those students. The San Diego Assessment should be ... • 21. The Human Society Of San Diego As we grow up in life, we often wonder what it would be like to have a pet. Some parents will go out to the far limits to get that one of a kind dog. Others will just tell their children that having an animal takes responsibility. Whether it is one or the other, we still have that thought in our head. In this paper, I want to look at one place where a child or parents can get that chance to make that dream of having a pet at home a reality. I welcome you to the humane society of San Diego. I often said to myself, this is where are the stray animals go. Not true, when you take a look some maybe stray but others come from a home that just plain got tired of them. Let me show you the journey of what the humane society of San Diego can do when it comes to looking at that pet to come home with you. History of the San Diego Human Society As we all know, we must look first at the past of the humane society. San Diego is just one of many that are around and offer so many. The question is, where did they get there beginnings from? Well lets go back to March of 1880, when San Diego was still in it's beginning phases of growing. This was the start of the San Diego humane society. Looking that far back, you can see that even than the importance of animals were looked at. From that time it was the start of what would be a huge organization that was solely for the treatment of the animal. From that day in March, the humane society has made its promise to training not only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without much knowledge of the city the customer hoped to find a convenient, affordable option which would contribute positively to the experience of all parties joining. Not looking for a tourist–attraction or a chain restaurant the options were limited to a local favorite within downtown San Diego. Ideally, this restaurant would feature a fairly broad menu, large portions, and provide a unique dining experience. This selection criteria led the prospective customer to choose Sixth Avenue Bistro–a casual and contemporary family–style restaurant. Brand Research In selecting Sixth Avenue Bistro the prospective customer collected data through a variety of social media platforms. The customer started with The Bistro's official website and proceeded to Yelp!, TripAdvisor, and Facebook. By all accounts Sixth Avenue Bistro maintained a reputation of casual accommodation with "welcoming staff" and an excellent menu. The Bistro's website–http://www.sixthavenuebistro.com–is polished and user–friendly featuring company information, a variety of menus as well as pictures of signature dishes. • 25. Analysis Of Seaworld And San Diego Summary SeaWorld in San Diego, California recently announced its facility has plans to phase out its killer whale shows. This decision is what PETA and other oppositions of SeaWorld has been seeking, but there is no news of ending these shows at their Orlando and San Antonio locations. There is Federal legislation in the works to ban orca breeding, importing and exporting them for public display. This legislation is called the Orca Act and is still in its early stages of proposal. Passing of the Orca Act would most likely be the only way Orlando would stop its killer whale shows. Stakeholders Shareholders: SeaWorld's shareholders have seen a steady decline in revenues over the past couple years, mainly because of the controversy associated with their killer whales shows. Not continuing these steps in Orlando or San Antonio, will continue to decrease revenue. Killer Whales: It is not natural for killer whales to perform shows and interact with humans. Stopping these shows in San Diego will allow them to live more relaxed and more natural. PETA: This is a small victory for PETA in its efforts against SeaWorld. With this decision, PETA will continue to push SeaWorld for more animal rights and stoppage of using animals for entertainment. Employees: Jobs within the San Diego facility with be shifted or cut. The need for animal trainers and performers will be cut. The "face of the company" employees at SeaWorld also get asked the most questions and sometimes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

San Diego Naval Training Center Essay The Naval Training Center (NTC) influenced the history of San Diego by not only bringing in money, people, and importance into it, but also using San Diego's heritage, and building upon it. It became the Naval Training Center in 1944, and filled 435 acres in 1955. However, just 40 odd years later, the city of San Diego began leasing a number of the buildings. Eventually it closed in 1997. (Globalsecurity.org) The desire that San Diego had for a naval base came from as far back as 1893, as stated by Justin Ruhge. • 43. San Diego Water Crisis Leonardo da Vinci, famous artist, engineer, philosopher, and scientist, once said, "Water is the driving force of all nature." Water is one of, if not the most valuable resource for all life. Although 71% of the Earth is water, only 2.5% of it is fresh and safe for human consumption. Despite previously being considered a renewable resource, water is becoming scarce, especially in California. As more and more water is disappearing, California is struggling to find a solution to its unprecedented drought. Solutions thus far – imported water, desalination, and ridiculous restrictions on use – have not made a significant enough impact. However, a new, revolutionary resolution has appeared: potable water. Potable, or recycled, water is water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Pure Water project, a project that plans to construct three recycling plants to produce San Diego's water supply, only requires $3.5 billion to get started – inexpensive in comparison to the amount of money it takes to import, partially purify, and desalinate water. An example of the ever– growing expense of imported water can be found in the article "Council unanimously approves purifying sewage into drinking water", which was published to UT San Diego on November 18, 2014. In this informational article, author David Garrick states, "Councilman Scott Sherman said San Diego must fight back against sharply rising costs of imported water." Potable water is the best way to combat the increasing prices of imported water. Rather than relying on water from the Colorado River – San Diego's main supplier – existing water can be purified and reused. In the same article, it is also stated that, "In addition, recycling wastewater... would allow the city to avoid spending about $2.1 billion in upgrades needed at the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant" (Garrick). As mentioned in the quotation, San Diego is already spending generous amounts of money on water. This can be remedied, however, with the implication of potable water, which costs significantly less. Another one of San Diego's pricey water sources is desalination. Desalination is the high cost, high energy process of purifying salt water to make it drinkable. In the nonfiction article "OC Coastkeeper: San Diego Swindled By Desalination, Don't Let OC Be Next", published on February 3, 2016 to voiceofoc.org by author Ray Hiemstra, it is stated that, "San Diego is forced to pay for the most expensive water on the market whether they need it or not", in reference to the desalination plant managed by ... Two or three ceiling fans in a home could really make a difference! Almost anyone would desire a cooling fan, which could save on the electric bill in the summer. An additional benefit is a little known fact: most people don't know that they could benefit from a ceiling fan in the winter also. By reversing the direction on the ceiling fan, pulling the warm air down from the ceiling into the room, the fan can help to provide warmth for the room and reduce the heating ... • 69. Art In Architecture: San Diego Art in Architecture San Diego is very popular metropolis located in southern california on the west coast. Its recurring 70 degree weather and happy vibes make it an ideal place to live. San Diego also is home to and amazing skyline. My favorite building in San Diego is the fairly recently built Central Library located in the eastern part of downtown near Petco Park. Throughout the course of this paper I intend to inform the reader on what makes the Central Library unique and why it is a piece of art. The central value of the San Diego library is given through its uniqueness and is demonstrated through the relationship between its dome shaped top, slanted roof, large windows, and southern California landscape. One of the most unique parts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's large dome roof made up of interconnected steel beams give it a look that I can only describe as strong. The Central Library's windows give it a shine that can be seen from miles away making it pop and stand out from all of the other beautiful buildings in San Diego. It's slanted roof plays a crucial role by giving the opposite side of the building an unconventional look that catches the eye. The last key component of the Central Library is the California inspired landscape that brings the observer back to the realization that they are still in San Diego. The Central Library would not hold such value if it were not for the perfect relationship between the parts described. Without these key components it would just be another building that doesn't grab your eye. However because it contains these features I consider it a piece of art. I think the Central Library teaches us an important lesson, art can be found anywhere, even in something as simple as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. A Survey of Diabetics in San Diego INTRODUCTION The entire concept of diabetes is about living on the edge of trouble. While Type 1 Diabetes is a biological condition associated with a fundamental flaw in the way one's body produces or reacts to insulin a substance that controls and monitors sugar in the blood and cells Type 2 Diabetes is a social and cultural condition. Those most likely groups of people to have to live with it are persons of non–white nationalities (increasingly Hispanics and Asians) who live at or below the US poverty level and/or who have not achieved a very high level of educational advancement (California Department of Public Health, 2010). And in places like San Diego County, California, this puts a major number of people, young and old, quite literally on the border of health and wellness disasters. "Diabetes mellitus," notes a 2010 San Diego health assessment posting, "is a disease of abnormal carbohydrate metabolism, in which the level of blood glucose, or blood sugar, is above normal. The disease occurs when the body is unable to produce or use insulin, a hormone that helps move glucose from the blood into other cells throughout the body" (San Diego County, n.d.). Type 1 generally reflects a naturally occurring demonstration of this; Type 2 is associated with adjustments that the body makes as a result of sugar and fat intake, and thus aligned very directly with obesity and poor health and dietary concerns. An estimated 90% to 95% of the conditions are now Type 2, contributing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. San Diego Beaches In Florida San Diego is a city in California that has about 17 miles of coastline, which offers a variety of beaches ("San Diego Beaches"). Pacific Ocean is the ocean that borders coast in California. Three major rock formations can be found in the North County beaches in San Diego, which are Bay Point Formation, the Torrey Sandstone, and Del Mar Formation. Bay Point Formation is about 100,000 years old, which is also the youngest rock formation, and it has a higher possibility for erosion to occur (Metzler). The Torrey Sandstone is about 46 million years old, it has a lighter color than Bay Point Formation, and it is hard enough to provide protection for the softer Bay Point Formation (Metzler). Del Mar Formation is slightly older than the Torrey Sand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main reason for the difference is that the two places are at different "sides", one in the east, the other in the west, and because of this difference, the weather at these places can also have a big effect on the beaches. Erosion is a process that occurs at both the beaches in San Diego and Northeast Florida. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs on the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities cause erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can wash away the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures near the shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the shorelines, people have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and dunes erosion at both places. In San Diego, people have built sea walls and placed riprap along the shorelines to help prevent erosion. Sea walls are usually made up of boulders, steels, and concrete and they are more expensive to build than the riprap (Metzler). Riprap is placed on the sand along to the shorelines of the beach, it is usually made up of rocks, and it is less expensive than building sea walls (Metzler). The purpose of both the sea walls and riprap is to help protect the bluffs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Living in Jacksonville, NC versus Living in San Diego, Ca Compare and Contrast Final Draft Samantha Deal As a military brat, I was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina; and have lived here for most of my life. Recently our family was stationed in San Diego, California, and the move was a great eye–opener for me. When I moved to San Diego, I was surprised by the diversity of cultures, the abundance of activities, and how the crowds of people never stopped. It is an excellent place for people who enjoy being amongst other people; there is never a lack of entertainment day or night. Jacksonville, North Carolina on the other hand, is more for people who like a relaxed and quiet family oriented lifestyle. The city of Jacksonville, and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps base are home to 170,000 Marines, Sailors, retirees, and civilians. There are plenty of things to do in Jacksonville, the only problem is you have to look for them. For example, on the Jacksonville website, there are seafood festivals to attend, crab boils, and beach events among other things. We have deep sea fishing for blue marlin with a top prize of $1,000,000 which attracts people from all over the country. People can join the "Clean and Green Jacksonville initiative" which entails improving, and maintaining the parks, roadways, and landscapes. Also, the Sturgeon City Institute is focused on bringing back the endangered Sturgeon to the New River. In addition, Rails and Trails, it is a jogging and biking path that starts downtown and ends at Camp Lejeune; and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
