Eve Marche s Iron Cross
Beneath the nurses apron Eve Marche wears to tend German and Allied troops, beats the heart of
a MI6 spy. Pinned to it is the Iron Cross she was awarded for saving Major Otto Reinhardt. While
the cross provides an element of protection from the Bosch it also invites scornful glares from
fellow Belgians. She can t tell them the truth, no one must know no one outside her familyof her
involvement in the La Dame Blanch network. In her third novel, Kate Breslin dials up the danger
and intrigue for a story I could not put down!
Breslin s interplay between the greater European conflict (WWI), local resistance, and one woman s
remarkable stand against evil is brilliant. She accomplishes the first by using Belgium as her
primary setting then, through

The Veldt, By George And Lydia Hadley
In The Veldt, George and Lydia Hadley are the parents of Wendy and Peter Hadley, and they live
in a technologically driven house that will do everything for its inhabitants transport them
upstairs, brushes their teeth, cook their food, and clean the house. The story begins when Lydia
asks George if he s noticed anything wrong with the nursery, the most expensive and exciting
room of the house. The glass walls have the ability to project the landscape and environment of
any place that the mind of the visitor wishes. During this particular visit, George and Lydia are
surrounded by the African countryside. In the distance, lions are licking the bones of their prey
clean. The images are so startlingly life like that when the holographic lions begin to charge,
George and Lydia run for the door to escape. Outside of the nursery, Lydia comments that she
heard screams coming from the room earlier in the day, but George tries to ease her worries. He
wants to believe that the children are psychologically healthy, not that they are fixated on blood
and violence. After all, one of the selling points of the room was that the children would be able to
use the room as an outlet for their emotions, and the places that the room visited would provide
information for the adults who were curious about the young minds. Lydia senses that something
dark is brooding in her children s brain. As they sit down to dinner, which is all provided through
the house s technology, George suggests

Differences Between Sea Oats And Camphorweed
On the Cabretta beach dunes, there is an abundance of vegetation that encompasses the area of the
quadrant for each stop. The most plant diversity of one stop, was observed in a swale (Dune Stop
2), with weed oats, wax myrtle, rushes, and dog fennel. These four plants solely appeared in the
swale. Sea oats and camphorweed were the most abundant planttypes in the dunes; additionally, sea
oats and camphorweed can be found in multiple dune environments. Sea oats were found in dune
crests, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the crests, while
camphorweed was found in inter dune meadows, between two troughs, and in the fore dune,
having most abundance in the inter dune meadows (Figure ). These two plants displayed
significant height differences in various dune territories. In the crest, sea oats measured at a height
of 105cm, but as they grow closer to the ocean, they increase by ~63cm. As for camphorweeds,
they grew to be roughly 60cm in the inter dune meadows and fore dune; however, in between the
two troughs, the plant stood at an average height of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When gathering data from the modern marsh, eight different quadrants that were 15 m apart from
each other were examined for plant presence. The most vegetation diversity was observed in the
mid marsh region, with living and dead spartina, glass warts, and salt warts. Interestingly, there is
a sharp shift from 71% spartina and 13% salt warts at 45m into the marsh to 93% salt warts and
7% spartina at 60m. These sudden shifts in plant type abundance throughout the marsh from the
marsh border to 105m into the marsh (Figure ). Salt warts were the most copious, followed by
spartina, and glass warts with the least occurrences in the marsh. One the marsh border, needle rush
dominates with ~70% coverage, alongside sea oxeye, which also make a minor appearance 15m

Human Tooth, Tooth Decay
human tooth , tooth decay
[pic]
Human tooth
Teeth of humans are small, calcified, whitish structures found in the mouth that are used to break
down food. The roots of teeth are embedded in the maxilla (upper jaw) or the mandible (lower
jaw) and are covered by gums. Teeth are made of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness.
Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like
other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. The first set (also
called the baby , milk , primary , and deciduous set) normally starts to appear at about six months
of age, although some babies are born with one or more visible teeth, known as neonatal ... Show

Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to
proper form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of
tooth structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic
measures, such as regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries.
Causes
There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin);
caries causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries
process does not have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to
different degrees depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering
capacity of their saliva. Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the
oral cavity, but not the structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid
demineralization that exceeds saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid
demineralization occurs where food (containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though
most trapped food is left between teeth, over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on
chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as
they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few cavities.

How Did Geography Shaped Mendocino
How geography shaped Mendocino Have you ever wondered how geography has shaped
Mendocino? Mendocinos geography, plants, and animals have been have been changing for
years on the Mendocino coast, even though you may not notice it, it still happens everywhere. It
s probably happening right now. Wind, water, the sun, our redwood trees, and the people who
came to the Mendocino coast have been shaping Mendocino for so long to make it where it is
today. Mendocino has been known for its beautiful coastline and the huge redwood trees. But
not only are they both beautiful attractions they both have their own history that impacted
Mendocino to make it is where it is today. Mendocino used to be a huge redwood logging town.
The loggers would cut down the redwoods and then put them in the rivers so they would float
down to the ocean where the trees would be put into boats and then sailed off to San Francisco
where they were building a whole new city because of the gold rush. Because Mendocino was
right along the ocean it was easy to trade because it was easy for the ships to come in. It also
helped with the logging and how they loaded them onto the boats. As you can see that the
redwoods played a big part in Mendocino... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

have abalone many tourists come to dive, and because they come if benefits our inns here in

Comparing My Sister Ashleigh And I
My Sister Ashleigh and I
When I was growing up, we were a family of three siblings. I had one younger brother. And also I
had a sister, only a year younger than I was. Her name is Ashleigh. Our sister sister relationship is
unique, even though, we constantly change back and forth between loving and hating one another.
My sister and I have something in common; however, we are not similar in many ways.
To begin with, one thing which is common in me and Ashleigh is the lovefor cooking. During
leisure time I love to cook variety of dishes for my family and friends. One of the first reason that
I fell in love with cooking was that the food is the universal love language. People, no matter
who they are, need food to live. And everyone loves tasty food. For instance, nothing makes me
feel better than inviting my girlfriends around for an afternoon tea. I make them some healthy
cupcakes and some organic strawberries dipped in chocolate. We laugh, giggle, share stories and
enjoy food. Also, I have a lot of memories of Christmas evenings around the table with my family
enjoying delicious healthy meal. Likewise, my sister loves cooking. The reason behind her love
for cooking is that it makes her feel like a rock star. She makes tasty recipes which my mother and I
are not able to make. She believes that her cooked food has magic in it. For example, one
afternoon her boyfriend make home from work in a bad mood. She served him a tasty lamb

Ancient Greece Democracy
Ancient Greece is often thought of as being the birthplace of democracy. However, by taking a
closer look at the modes of government, it is clear that many elements of democracy today were
not present in society. Democracy is viewed very differently today than it was looked at in Greece,
with the meaning of equality somehow changing over thousands of years. The ways that people
participated and were represented in government has also changed, and does not show many
aspects of today s democracy. With taking a closer look of the representation of ancient peoples, the
role of women in ancient Greek society is also not substantial. Ancient Greecewas fairly democratic
because of the connections that ancient Greek government has to governments around the globe
today, the participation of the people, as well as the role women played. Today democracy is
often known for letting everyone have a say in government and letting people choose who
represents them or letting them represent themselves. Although some aspect of democracy are
prevalent in ancient Greece, there are exceptions which show how undemocratic life truly was.

and different results, from very bad to good, were shown up. The shrinkage defect was precluded
starting the first experiment since it can usually be corrected by proper design of the gating systems

п‚—In fact, much more experiments were needed to determine the clear causes of gas defects as
such causes are so many in number. Any ways, if the matrix of the variables that produce good

environment and working conditions.

enables to know the effect of any individual variable on the defect scenario but, it costs is high.

Sentiment Analysis Assignment
Hi Girish, Personally I do like the idea of linking such natural phenomenon to emotions. It would
be great if you can share more about the project you can come to one of project TAs OH once we
reach week 3. The following notes is some open ended questions/thinkings based on your post.
Please feel free to follow up. 1.causality v.s. correlation: The Aristotle explanation gives us a
direct casual relation between celestial bodies and emotions. I m sure you does not buy this much.
But it could be a good question to ask: Whether the celestial events affect our emotions by changing
the dynamics of our body, by some social economic events (e.g. An EMP that interrupts the
production) or by the myths or beliefs only. As you use the word correlation... Show more content

We have two data set: one is the celestial events and the other is some emotion index/crime index.
The final step of calculating correlation probably won t takes much (well, actually it could be
really serious if you are taking an econometrist s perspective). So I guess you will apply a lot of
machine learning skills for the sentiment analysis? I wonder if it is that necessary since a lot of
works have been done on this. You can check out this, a toolkit from Healey Ramaswamy : https:
//www.csc.ncsu.edu/faculty/healey/tweet_viz/ Also, the violences, homicides, suicides reported
sounds like a more reliable data source for this problem (see the next note). I would suggest
talking with a TA to clarify the scope of this project is appropriate. 3.Google Trend Before starting
the data preparation, I would suggest using Google Trend to try out some patterns first. For
example, homicides in news: https://www.google.com/trends/explore?gprop=news q=homicides.
4.Scale of correlation If finally you find out there is such correlation, I would suggest some
quantitive compaision between daily fluctuation of people s emotion to see how large these
disturbances are (so we can decide if we really need the emergency

Citigroup Inc. ranks fifth with 5.5% market share (Andrews, 2011).
Banking industry is currently operating in the maturity stage. There are many players as a result
of which the competition is quite high. Competition is broadly based on the levels of fees charged,
reputation, the range of services and products provided. As the industry consolidates and the range
of services broadens, the size and geographic spread of industry players in increasing. Providing a
high set of barriers is the capital and regulatory requirements within the banking sector. Entities that
want to start up as a commercial bank and/or investment bank or securities dealer face significant
establishment costs in order to gain acceptance and meet market reputation. Furthermore, start ups
require up front expenses in order to establish proper distribution channels. Globalization is high
and the trend is increasing. Cross border sales and acquisitions of banking operations are also
occurring, as assets are shuffled in the race to raise capital.
The cyclical nature of the industry results in it having very high revenue volatility. When economic
and financial market conditions are good, this industry tends to perform well. When the financial
markets turn downward, revenue is often hit hard and early. In terms of the industry assistance,
there was little support before the subprime

Clark became best known for his studies on race relations, most of which were conducted with
his wife, psychologist Mamie Phipps Clark. While working at City College of New York they
developed their famous doll tests, in which children were given black and white dolls to play
with, and asked to indicate which dolls they would prefer to play with. The tests were administered
to children in several communities of differing economic and racial complexion, and the results
showed that regardless of community, black children identified with the black dolls, but that
children of either race tended to view the white dolls favorably and the black dolls unfavorably.
Clark s results were published in a 1950 paper, Effects of Prejudice and Discrimination on

Society makes us, men and women, think that in order to be loved then we have to have a flat

through dieting that decide to take the easy way out by becoming anorexic. Being anorexic is a
serious condition that affects your mental being and can eventually kill you. Thoughts about
dieting, food, and your body may take up most of your day leaving little time for friends, family,

The 400 Blows By Francois Truffaut
The 400 Blows is a great film. It is a testimony to Francois Truffaut s greatness. This is a film
about a young French boy that has a troubled childhood. He was a rebel of sorts. He got in some
trouble in the classroom and out of the classroom. He wasn t necessarily more troublesome than
any other kid during that time. I think he is misunderstood and put in difficult situations. This
French Film Noir had music, scenery, and a unique freeze frame that made this film great.
Music added to this film. French music and classical music was played in the background. At no
time was there any lyrics to the songs being played. I think this was advantageous as the camera
angles captured the emotion of Antoine and other characters. Also the scene itself often in Paris
was full of hustle and bustle. It s a big city so the city sounds where heard. Thus music with
lyrics were not needed. I think the final scene is a great scene. This scene is of Antoine running
away for the last time going to the ocean. Quiet and unique percussion music was being played
as he was running towards the ocean. Scenery itself was set for the most part in Paris France.
This was a city that was full of business day and night. The streets were crowded with pedestrians
and cars were seen zooming by. This reflected how a boy such as Antoine could be forgotten and
entangled with skipping school and other poor choices. The scene where Antoine is skipping
school with his other school buddy indicates how he really was

The Cell Membrane Transport Lab
INTRODUCTION
In the cell membrane transport lab, there were many experiments that were done such as osmosis,
diffusion in a gel, diffusion in a liquid, diffusion in air, and filtration, A cell membrane transport lab
is done to understand the different ways of transport and why they are all important since it relates
to the human body.
Osmosis occurs when a fluid, that s most likely water, passes through a semipermeable
membrane. The tonicity of the solutions on both sides of the semipermeable membrane
determines the outcome. It s possible to use osmosis to sort blood cells by using a hypotonic
solution to deplete blood cells to distinguish and sort out the differences (Parichehreh et al 2011).
The tonicity of the blood and the cells can determine the health of the body, where your body can
be dehydrated to hydrate enough. Variables in this experiment is the cell when it crenates or
hemolyzes until the solutions on either sides of the semipermeable membrane reaches equilibrium.
If tonicity affects osmosis, then exposing a dialysis membrane full of cytoplasmic solution
(containing glucose, albumin, NaCl, and starch) in an environment solution (deionized water) will
cause the cell to swell and gain weight due to being a hypertonic solution and will result in glucose
and NaCl passing through the semipermeable membrane and leave the cell since the particles of
glucose and NaCl are small, leaving osmosis to occur until the two solutions reaches equilibrium.
In diffusion,

Pros And Cons Of Drinking Water
The Carlsbad desalination idea is not a practical way to get drinking water for the people of
California. Obviously, it is a serious risk to the environment, and comes with many more cons than
pros. Why damage our world long term not that we haven t done that already when we can just find
other ways to get water for the Californians?
First of all, desalination is highly expensive. According to the NewsELA article titled, California
Tries One Solution to Water Problems Treating Seawater, by the Sacramento Bee staff, getting
water will cost $2,257 per acre foot. This is double the price of the authority s most expensive
supply of water now. Double! Already the U.S. is investing too much money in things that could
be solved in a much more practical way. We don t need desalination to provide water to people.
Clearly, desalination is not a realistic idea, due to the cost of it. People s water bills will go
shoot through the roof, and the project is expected to cost $1 billion. One acre foot can only
serve two average homes per year, meaning that desalination will only meet 7% of San Diego s
annual water needs. 7% is not worth it. 7% will do nothing but damage the oceans and ocean life.
Think about it this way: say that a county has 150 homes in it (which isn t even a close number,
by the way). Now take those 150 homes and multiply that by 2,257. The total is 338,550, meaning
it will take approximately $350,000 to supply these homes with only 7% of the water that they

Yurano s Chushingura Loyalty In The Japanese Culture
Shown in the book Chushingura loyalty is very important in the Japanese culture. They ve always
lived by absolute loyalty and self sacrifice for their families and their heir. The two characters I
think that represent the best and worst qualities of the Japanese Bushido and Japanese spirit are
Oboshi Yuranosuke and Honzo. Yuranosuke presents the best qualities while Honzo present more
so of the worst qualities.
Yuranosuke throughout the book shows absolute loyalty. He is the chief retainer of Lord Enya,
he served throughout as a mediator in the story. In Act four, when Hangan was ordered by the
shogun to commit suicide for drawing his sword on a fellow ronin. When Yuranosuke shows up he
is too late, when he enters Hangan stabs himself with his sword. Before he dies, Hangan tells
Yuranosuke he wants vengeance upon Moronao. After Hangan death Yuranosuke then forms an
alliance of retainers who all agree to swear vengeance upon Moronao. This act of vengeance
presented Yuranosuke s loyalty to Hangan and what classifies him as a perfect model for the
Bushido code. The death he eventually offers Moronao is perhaps not even a death of dishonor.
Yuranosuke offers Moronao the honor of committing sepukku, but Moronao does not accept it. He

Negative Effects Of Birth Order
The Effects Of Birth Order
What would people think if a complete stranger could tell personality traits of someone only
knowing the order of their birth? Birth order refers to the order a child is born in their family:
birth order is often believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development
(Wikipedia). Birth order has great effects on children, and it is seen especially in firstborn, middle
born, and last born children. It is an interesting concept that will be explored in more depth in
this paper. First, consider some of the characteristics seen in firstborn children. Some of the traits
seen in first born children include: perfectionist, reliable, list maker, well organized, critical,
serious, scholarly, seek approval, conservative, and law abiding (Lehnardt). They are also
typically bad at delegating. Researchers suggest that firstborn are more highly motivated than
other or later born children (Lehnardt). Firstborns are also more likely to seek help and are self
critical. Firstborns are more likely to make at least $100,000 more annually than their siblings
(Lehnardt). Researchers say firstborn are generally higher motivated than others. In addition,
firstborns tend to score higher on IQ tests and typically get more education than their brothers and
sisters (Lehnardt). However, in life, there are exceptions to these characteristics and features seen
in children born first. For example, younger siblings tend to take on a firstborn role if an

Keystone Habit Research Paper
Keystone habit is a change of a behavior that can form other positive habits. It creates a chain
reaction on the way we live our life. Based on Habits as Change Levers by Daniel Denison and
Levi Nieminen, the authors give an example on how changing keystone habit can affect other
habit and be advantageous. To start with, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is an
authority that manages all public transportation in New York City and surrounding areas
including Long Island. This includes a high volume subway system, which carries an average of
5.4 million passengers per day (1.6 billion per year) (Denison and Nieminen 26). The subway
service not only helps the New Yorker to escape the traffic congestion, but also tourist to get
around the city. So, it was crucial for MTA s crews to make sure the subway system is operating
without stop and safely. However, the subway system must still be repaired... Show more content on

This unprecedented decision was made when the subway system experienced several high profile
safety incidents. It involved a worker fatality and a blizzard that left some passengers stranded for
10 hours without food, water and heat. As a result, a program named FastTrack was introduced to
identify and shut down the whole track s section for maintenance from 10 p.m. until 5a.m. of the
following day. This allows the maintenance crews to access the tracks, signals, cables and other rail
components without any interruption. At first, the public outcry over the new subway service
because they never accustomed to any interruption to the service. However, the program has given
many benefits over time. It was reported that it has improved productivity, saved money (estimated
savings of $16.7 million in 2012), cut accident rates nearly in half, and increased train reliability by
nearly 5% (26). These achievement is clearly achieved because MTA has changed its keystone
habit, which is running the train without

The Songs and Deaths of Rockstars Essay
The Songs and Deaths of Rockstars
Music as we know it today is the voice of a generation. It gives us entertainment, and
speaks out for a community of people in many ways. Most people listen to at least some sort of
music, and serves a purpose in almost every facet of society. Just about any expression can
be shared through music, inlcuding ideas and feelings about death. Music is used in various
way when pertaining to death, including songs about how a death occurred, or songs at a
service mourning a death. Whichever way you look at it, music serves an important purpose,

Some of his albums suggest his nature of knowing death as
near, such as his album Me against the World, and 2pacalypse now. Not being a Rap fan it is
hard for to judge what is going through his mind, but by reading some lyrics it is obvious that he
believes that he has a hard life, and that death may be the only answer.
The Notorious B.I.G. was a very famous rap star on the East Coast, and grew to
nationwide fame. His lyrics exemplify death even further, as he seemed to never give up his
gangster lifestyle. Before becoming famous he was a drug dealer, dealing Crack Cocaine, so he
was well aware of death as a fact of life. His lyrics were different from Tupac s in that most of
his Death lyrics were about murder instead of his own death, that is until he started to believe that
his death was imminent. Like Tupac s lyrics, his songs are way to graphic to quote here, but
many of his songs had lyrics of him killing and in some rare cases even some sort of threats of
torturing as well. It would be reasonable to believe that it was because of his lifestyle on the
streets that made him think this way, as he did seem to be obsessed with murder and death.
One of his albums was entitled Ready to Die, and it has songs on both side of the
spectrum. The self titled song was about how is preparing to murder someone, and there was

Dental Implant Procedure
What To Expect When Your Dentist Inserts An Implant Rod Into Your Jaw
Getting a dental implant requires specialized bone surgery. That s why your general dentist may
not be suitable for the job. You need an implant dentist who has been trained and certified in the
procedure. Here is a quick look at the process you go through to replace a missing tooth with an
implant rod.
Bone Evaluation
Your dentist has to evaluate the state of your bone first. This can be done through x rays and a
physical examination. If your tooth has been missing for a long time, your bone may have shrunk.
When you just have one missing tooth, the implant has to go in one specific area. Therefore, the
bone in the gap has to be thick enough and strong enough to hold ... Show more content on

If that s the case, you will receive a shot in the gum just like you do when you get a filling. If you
have anxiety about the procedure, the dentist may also offer drugs to sedate you. These calm you
and may even put you into a light sleep, but you ll still be alert enough to follow instructions. In
some cases, general anesthesia might be necessary so you sleep throughout the treatment and are
unaware of what is going on. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding
what is best. You may want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea
of bone surgery bothers you, you may prefer to be put to sleep.
The Procedure
First, the dentist has to access your bone. This is done by cutting open your gum and spreading
back the sides. If the bone is flat, the dentist is ready to start drilling into it. If your bone has an
irregular shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold
onto the implant more evenly and will be stronger.
Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the
exact depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and
use progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with
a measuring pin. The pin checks for depth and alignment of the hole. When the hole is complete,
the dentist may check it with an x ray to make sure everything looks

The Theme Of Traveling In Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Traveling, to go from one place to another, as by, car, train, foot, plane or ship. The novels,
Travels With Charley and Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck share the theme of
traveling. Steinbeck in Travels With Charley has his french poodle he travels across America
with, and in Of Mice and Men Lenny has George by his side. These books share many
similiarities. In Travels With Charley Steinbeck sets out to see the people of the world trying to
pursue the American Dream and in Of Mice and Men the characters are stuck working towards the
hopeless American Dream. Steinbeck received the Noble prize for his ability to write realistically

Well, The American Dream is written into the Declaration of Independence: life, liberty, and the
pursuit of happiness. The American Dream is the belief of the American Society that each
individual can, through hard work and strength of mind, achieve everything they have ever
wanted( ). Lennie and George s dream of owning a farm and living off the fatta the lan
symbolizes this dream. Many of the characters in Of Mice and Men are wanting a different life
that represents the American Dream. For example, George and Lennie s American Dream is
owning their farm and being their own boss and not having to listen to anyone else. Having this
constant thought in mind George and Lenny always work as hard as they can and to save up
their money without spending much on their own selfs. Curley s wife is affected by the
American Dream before she dies because of her belief that she could be an actress. Even Crooks
allows himself the nice fantasy of hoeing a patch of garden on Lennie s farm one day, and Candy
latches on desperately to George s vision of owning a couple of acres. Crooks is motivated by
his own American Dream, which ends up being one of inclusion and companionship. Before the
action of the story begins, circumstances have robbed most of the characters of these wishes.
Curley s wife, for instance, has resigned herself to an unfulfilling marriage. Their journey, which
awakens George to the impossibility of this dream, sadly proves that the bitter Crooks is right:
such paradises of freedom, contentment, and safety are not to be found in this world (Kannan).
Not only does Of Mice and Men relate to the American Dream but so does Travels With Charley.
In Travels With Charley Steinbeck sets out on his journey and realizes so many people in the
real world are trying to achieve the American Dream. He finds a whole new breed of modern
people who were pursuing their own version of the American dream to live free from the world of

Proposal On Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile Delinquency has been an active issue in the criminal justice system that is considered as
an evil by the society. It is believed to be a social and psychological problem faced by the youth
and the society, which violates the legal system. The violation of the legal system makes it
important to overcome the problem. The need to prevent the juvenile delinquencyis important to
help the youth cope with the society as well as the criminal justice system. The prevention of the
delinquency is only possible if the results can be gathered for the causes of this behaviour. The
causes can be gathered by examining a group of youth who can become possible offenders by
knowing that what causes the delinquency and at what stages of the life does it trigger. The paper
will be focus on the problem of juvenile delinquency, and the factors that contribute towards the
onset of delinquency in youth. The research proposal would be based upon the previous research s
done and the data collected by those research s that depicted some of the possible factors of
delinquency found in youth that could be childhoodmaltreatment, negative relationship between the
parents and the delinquent youth, emotional disturbance faced in the adolescent, genetics and the
geographical factors. The factors would be further investigated by using them as independent
variables in the research to find out how these factors can be removed to make the community

Contribution To Group Work
My contribution to the groups creation is craft with natural resources, for my talent I use natural
resources to create neat objects, to construct and build with. I contributed this creative talent to
the group by collecting natural resources from my home. I collected branches from around the

as rope to hold the branches together. I found some recycled wood from previous projects under

This is important because Feeney et al (2010) emphasises young children are more comfortable
and best supported with their learning in small groups when there are enough adults to provide

the centre is to be prepared and organised with my materials and equipment. I do this by
collecting all the natural resources the day before so then on the day that I plan to set up the
table with the natural resources I have all the loose resources in the cups and baskets. Then when
I am starting my shift that day I move all the natural resources and the hot glue gun to the art
bench so that when I am ready I can ask the children to help bring them outside. This is important
because as Ministry of Education (1996) emphasises the adult s role and responsibility is to ensure

In the 1920 s there was a lot to be said of how people made their money, had parties, and the love

population. Even though some people made a living illegally, some bought up bonds and saved
them. There were two men that had several similarities in this day and time, but also had a lot of
differences. These men were Jay Gatsby and Tom Buchanan. It was the way that the love came

Discrimination Based On Physical Appearance
Discrimination based on physical appearance, or lookism, has had a heavy impact throughout

appear that beautiful people have an unfair advantage in life. As a result of this belief, a world
where becoming beautiful is a rite of passage for all people seems to have an almost utopia like

national milk sector accounting for 80% of total milk produced and a corresponding agricultural

taurus dominated systems (Knox et al., 2012; FAO, 2011a; FAO, 2014; Kabirizi et al., 2014;
Niang et al., 2014; Thornton and Herrero, 2014). Reduced LGP is likely to trigger shifts from
SDFS (mixed crop and livestock production) to more dominant livestock based production
systems with a high probability of offsetting the food balance due to increased frequency of
failure of traditionally grown crops (Anyamba et al., 2014; Niang et al., 2014). These scenarios
lead to dynamic complexities and dynamic farming systems where SDFS test and adopt both
indigenous methods based on perceptions of CCV and modern technologies that work best for
increased productivity (Mertz et al., 2009; Below et al, 2014). According to Giovannucci et al.
(2012) rural urban migration in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) is associated with CCV (FAO, 2015)
and directly impacts labour availability resulting to women and the elderly taking on additional and
non traditional gendered roles that include offering social protection (WHO, 2011) thus increasing
exposure to climate related risks that further affect productivity (Beddington et al., 2012a;
Giovannucci et al., 2012; FAO, 2015). Production is further compounded by limited access and
control over factors of production (land, credit, assets, knowledge, technology and efficient
extension services) (Giovannucci et al., 2012; Antwi Agyei et al., 2013) that aid in adaptation
strategies by women who own and manage most SDFS (FAO, 2015). Yet

How Did Brutus Caesar Betray
Brutus is a betrayer who believed he was a true great. He let others persuade him to commit a
treasonous assassination when he could have simply done his own research. There are those
who feel Brutus was a patriot because he was willing to assassinate his own friend for the good
of a country. Brutus believed he knew what was right. He was easily manipulated by others who
viciously tricked him. In act 1 scene ii Cassius distracts Brutus with all the possible glory he could
receive. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings. Brutus
and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar ? Why should that name be sounded more than yours?
Write them together, yours is as fair a name; Sound them, it doth become the mouth as well; Weigh
them, it is as heavy; conjure with em, Brutus will start a spirit as soon as Caesar. This shows that
Brutus was confused and betrayed. Although, this may be true Brutus... Show more content on

Brutus is obsessed with the thought of being a patriot and thought of as great by his peers. In act
II scene I you can find this quote, Let us be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. We all stand up
against the spirit of Caesar; And in the spirit of men there is no blood: O, that we then could
come by Caesar s spirit, And not dismember Caesar! But, alas, Caesar must bleed for it! And,
gentle friends, Let s kill him boldly, but not wrathfully; Let s carve him as a dish fit for the gods,
Not hew him as a carcass fit for hounds: And let our hearts, as subtle masters do, Stir up their
servants to an act of rage, And after seem to chide em. This shall make Our purpose necessary and
not envious: Which so appearing to the common eyes, We shall be call d purgers, not murderers. In
this quote you can see that Brutus is more thoughtful of how he will be known after completing the
action of killing Caesar, than,

Impulse Control Disorder
In Canada, some people who might wander around casinos or stores in a not so good position

group of impulsive behaviors (Forensic Psychiatry) that have characteristics such as rapid
unplanned reaction as well as less concern for the consequences of their actions (WebMD). In
Canada, there may have been impulsive control disorders have affected many gamblers. Of an

control disorder effect people s health, it can affect the lifestyle as well. If a person cannot control
his anger or impulsivity, he or she might have trouble cooperating with others. This sort of situation
can affect a person in environments such as school, work, family, and the people around them. In
addition to that, impulse control disorder can lead to poor relationships and manipulation of others
causing people to feel uncomfortable or neglected. Trouble with relationships of others could lead
to depression and other negative emotions such as anxiety, isolation, and stress. For a person to deal
with this negative lifestyle, they might risk themselves of harm, attempts commit suicide, and death.

43617760. There Are Many Ways That Groups Of People Allocate
43617760 There are many ways that groups of people allocate goods. The most common way to
do this in modern culture is through a market. Markets, as Carruthers and Babb describe it in
chapter 1, are the particular supply and demand of any given good or service that are exchanged
for a value of money with certain given information. As Wright and Best describe in chapter 3, this
way of organizing an economyallows for an effective way to step up an economy. Additionally, it
gives the maximum freedom to buy and sell as one pleases. Such markets can take place in any
number of forms and are influenced by society s expectations, religious practices, politics, our
relationships with those around us, and many other ways. As was noted in... Show more content on

Whether through their spending policies, taxing policies or lack there of, or days that are
considered holidays the state has great influence. These can sometimes can be seen as a harmful set
of actions, but as Bandelj and Sowers point out in chapter one these acts by the state have a real
importance to how the economy works. The state as noted above takes an important role in
managing things that are not natural. Without the government to regulate these things we not be
able to sustain these now vital and constructive institutions. This state interference in the market,
good or bad, has a profound effect on parts that ripple into the whole of the market. This
relationship in the market is on grand scale, but the social institutional relationship does not always
have to be.
The relationships that we have with particular people also greatly affect how we interact with the
market. Particularly in regards to cultural and societal expectations. When someone goes to
college they are expected to get a MacBook for school from their family as a parting gift. When
someone gets a big promotion they buy a new car or sometimes even a new house to show as a
visible announcement that they have improved their life. Society expects, as one improves their
status, to improve their possessions and interact with the market in more significant ways.
Sometimes though we can be influenced to

My Dog Is The Best Friend
Golden eyes, brown fur, four legs, and a long tongue, what am I? If you haven t guessed already, I ll
tell you, I am a dog, well, I m not actually a dog, that s just the answer to the riddle. More
specifically, I was describing my dog. He is my living artifact, I say that because he is old, and
because I have on other artifacts (that I know of) in my family. I guess we just aren t the
sentimental type, at least not in a, this object represents what we are kind of way. However, to me,
my dogholds a lot of sentimentality mostly through our experiences. I ve never had a human best
friend, and that makes Roscoemy one and only best friend, that is why I choose to make him my
artifact. So, he represents to me hard work, responsibility, friendship, and loyalty.
By now you probably want to know my dog s name, right? His name is Roscoe, and he is a pure
breed chocolate Labrador, and he was born on November 2, 2012 in Spokane, Washington.

take care of themselves while a dog will always rely on you. That is a lot of responsibility that,
unfortunately, not a lot of people can handle, which leads to neglect, however, that is a different
essay. I wasn t a very good dog trainer when I got Roscoe, so I didn t house train him correctly and
I barely was able to teach him to sit. However, I always fed him twice a day, tried to give him

which gives Roscoe that much more sentimental value. He is not just valued by my found sense of
responsibility, he Is also my best

An International Criminal Court
The establishment of an international criminal court was a slow, arduous process. Following the
horrific human rights violations committed by the Nazis in World War II, the global community
began to take the proper steps to combat the notion that being at war sanctions gross abuses of
human rights. It was not a lust for violence that elongated the process of establishing the ICC
(international criminal court), but rather the long time battle between accepting that the world is
increasingly affected by globalization and holding fast to the age old tradition of prizing state
sovereignty above all. The scale of the genocidecarried out against all peoples not of Aryan descent
in the 1940s was the catalyst needed to start talks about prizing guaranteed rights over the incessant
need to abide by antiquated customary law. Whilst many argue that the ICC and ad hoc tribunals
such as the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fail to provide a comprehensive international legal
framework, they serve other important purposes. Firstly, the ICC and its parent tribunals played a
major part in ending the culture of impunity. Oftentimes, in states where there are violations of
international humanitarian law, the government is wrought with corruption. Politicians and
government officials abuse the rights of their citizens and others under the guise of sovereign
immunity. Tribunals, and later the ICC,

CRCP strongly feels that organized consumers and lawyers can play a very effective and leading
role in the furtherance of consumer cause in Pakistan. An attempt, therefore, has been made to
provide them with a ready reference on laws dealing with consumer protection to pursue the cause
and get a fair deal both in the market and provision of state services. It is hoped that the whole
discourse on consumer protection, which lacks a legal perspective, will gain impetus from this
publication. We also hope that both consumers and practising lawyers would find it convenient,
comprehensive and precise

Reaction Paper On ECG Waveform
BioMedical Matlab Thesis ECG WaveformJessica Garcia,
BioMedical MatLab,Thesis Final Prof. Jonathan Ibera 11 9 17
An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a waveform generated by the natural sinus rhythm of the heart. It
is an electrical representation of the heart beat in form of what is known as a PQRST Complex. The
physical generation of this sinusoidal heart rhythm waveform is generated by the expansion and
contraction of the four different chambers of the heart that work collectively to pump blood
through the human body.
The biomedical piece of equipment used to measure this electrical activity of the heart is an
Electro Cardiogram machine, also widely known as an ECG. This electrical signal is acquired by
electrodes placed on the human body. On screen, the heart rate appears in form of a wave in which
each pulse and different peaks if the waveform, known as the PQRST waveform, represents a small
amount of an electrical signal.
These signals have different peaks, which are representations of different levels of electrical
intensity, are detected by the electrodes that then transmit the energy to a sensor that helps the
processor measure the actual value of this peak. Below is a representation of the heart rate
waveform and its named peaks.
Upon analysis of these waveforms collected by medical professional, they are able to tell many
things. They are able to analyze and assess regular heart rhythms as well as any other abnormal

Hip Hop Culture And Rap Music
Over the past few years, hip hop culture and rap music has stirred up controversy throughout
America and it s media. Whether it is Dr. Dre s 1992 hit single A Nigga Witta Gun or Bobby
Shmurda s 2014 hit single Hot Nigga that boasts about shooting other African Americans, it seems
that the media has denounced the hip hop culture and criticized them for the continuous increase
on inner city youth violence. If people would just listen closer to hip hop s message instead of
assuming it has negative intensions, they will realize that hip hop culture is simply a liberation
movement was started and still ran mostly by the black inner city youth in America. For years, the
black inner city youth has been oppressed through racial and economic situations and they believe
that the hip hop movement is the next civil rights movement in America. They have similar
intentions as Martin Luther King did during the 1960 s civil rights movement; their way of
peaceful protest is through the four main areas involved in hip hop culture: DJing, breakdancing,
graffiti, and most importantly rap music (Romano). The East and West coast were always
competing against each other through means of hop hop. It was all about which region had the
better DJs, graffiti artist, b boys and b girls, and MCs. Each element of hip hop had a positive
impact on American culture. B boying and b girling (breakdancing) was the beginning of the hip
hop movement and it ended lots of violent gang warfare because

The Theme Of Disillusionment
Disillusionment
Paul and his friends became disillusioned with Kantorek, their school teacher who told them about
the war, and how they should join immediately because they would be respected by women and be
better men. Assuming that they would come back home unaffected by the war, they join
patriotically. However, they began to question their elders and the wisdom they have given them
because they said it was an honor to fight for their country, but it really was a nightmare. They were
treated like animals. Even though this is set in WWI in 1915, disillusionment is something that all
people may experience even today.
Comradeship
Paul and his friends all went to school together. It is one thing to be friends at school, but the war
made them become even closer because of the experiences they went through. They save each other

The World Is Flat, By Thomas Friedman
In our world of a frequently mutable economy, there is no such thing as a sure thing. The
rollercoaster effect of falling and rising expenses and needs for jobs are continuously changing
as our times become more and more digital. Americans are finding that the life they cherish so
dearly may be gone in a matter of seconds. Most however, lack the concept of why everything
seems to be slipping away. People have become too comfortable riding of the coat tails of
innovators that paved the way before them and they are finding themselves lost in the shuffle.
The rest of the world is catching up and in the words of Thomas Friedman, in The World is Flat,
[we] simply are not educating, or even interesting, enough of our own young people in advanced
math, science, and engineering (349). Therefore, we must combat this issue at hand. America has
grown idle due to the achievements of previous ideas and although we have been amusing
ourselves, bathing in our own narcissism, we are no longer at the top, no longer a positive
anomaly. We aren t producing skilled and knowledgeable workers to keep our superiority, which is
a direct result of an extremely problematic educationsystem. Thus, in order to repair the damages
done and the severe amount of problems in the American education system, a better functioning
national system of higher educationmust be established. I suggest that vocational/technological
schools should be combined to join in with the free community collegeproposal. This

Foundations Of The Building Transfer
FOUNDATIONS The foundations of the building transfer the weight of the building to the
ground. While foundation is really a general word, normally, every building has many individual
foundations, commonly called footings. Usually each column of the building will have its
individual footing. Since the weight of the building rests on the land (or rock), engineers have
to study the properties of the soil very carefully to ensure it can carry the loads imposed because
of the building. It is common for engineers to determine the safe bearing capacity of your soil
after such study. Because the name suggests, this is the amount of weight per unit area your soil
can bear. For instance, the safe bearing capacity(SBC) for a location could be 20 T/m2, or
perhaps tonnes per square metre. That capacity also changes at different depths of soil. In
normal, the deeper one digs, the greater the SBC, unless there are pockets of weak soil in the
earth. To properly support a building, the soil must become very firm and strong. It is common
for the soil near the top of earth to be loose along with weak. If a building is rested within this
soil, it will sink in the earth like a ship in water. Building contractors will commonly dig until they
reach quite firm, strong, soil that can not be dug up easily before building a foundation. To study
the properties of the soil before designing foundations, engineers will request a soil investigation to
be achieved. A soil investigation engineer will

Cognitive Behavior Therapy And Mental Disorders
Cognitive Behavior Therapy Cognitive behavior therapy is a great way to help people with
depression. According to Wright, Cognitive behavior therapy is a pragmatic, action oriented
treatment approach that has become a widely used psychotherapy for major mental disorders.
Cognitive behavior therapy methods were initially developed for depression and anxiety
disorders, and later they were modified for many other conditions, including personality disorders,
eating disorders, and substance abuse; they have also been adapted for use as an adjustment to
medication in the management of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (Wright, 2006). Cognitive
behavior theory is mainly used with depression and anxiety. Many people of all ages are affected by

They may express thought of being overwhelmed and that there is so much to accomplish that
they can never do it (Corey, 2012). Depression even though can be treated by medication and
therapy; it can still lead to problems in the future when clients stop taking medication and therapy.
Everyone has automatic thoughts, but in clinical states such as depression and anxiety disorders,
these cognitions are often riddled with errors in logic. In depression, automatic thoughts typically
center on themes of negativity, low self esteem, and ineffectiveness (Wright, 2006). Aaron Beck
studied depression and focused on what triggers depression. Beck developed specific cognitive
procedures to help depressive clients evaluate their assumptions and beliefs and to create a new
cognitive perspective that can lead to optimism and change behavior (Corey, 2012). The first
component of the triad includes clients holding negative views of themselves, they also blame
their setbacks on personal inadequacies without considering circumstantial explanations. The
people are convinced that they lack the qualities in order to be happy. Examples of this would be
I am a boring person , I am uninteresting , I am too sad for anyone to like me. The second
component is the tendency to interpret their personal world in a negative manner. They tend to
focus on certain facts conform to their negative conclusions. An example for this would be No one
appreciates my job. The last component

  • 2. Eve Marche s Iron Cross Beneath the nurses apron Eve Marche wears to tend German and Allied troops, beats the heart of a MI6 spy. Pinned to it is the Iron Cross she was awarded for saving Major Otto Reinhardt. While the cross provides an element of protection from the Bosch it also invites scornful glares from fellow Belgians. She can t tell them the truth, no one must know no one outside her familyof her involvement in the La Dame Blanch network. In her third novel, Kate Breslin dials up the danger and intrigue for a story I could not put down! Breslin s interplay between the greater European conflict (WWI), local resistance, and one woman s remarkable stand against evil is brilliant. The Veldt, By George And Lydia Hadley In The Veldt, George and Lydia Hadley are the parents of Wendy and Peter Hadley, and they live in a technologically driven house that will do everything for its inhabitants transport them upstairs, brushes their teeth, cook their food, and clean the house. The story begins when Lydia asks George if he s noticed anything wrong with the nursery, the most expensive and exciting room of the house. The glass walls have the ability to project the landscape and environment of any place that the mind of the visitor wishes. During this particular visit, George and Lydia are surrounded by the African countryside. In the distance, lions are licking the bones of their prey clean. The images are so startlingly life like that when the holographic lions begin to charge, George and Lydia run for the door to escape. Outside of the nursery, Lydia comments that she heard screams coming from the room earlier in the day, but George tries to ease her worries. He wants to believe that the children are psychologically healthy, not that they are fixated on blood and violence. After all, one of the selling points of the room was that the children would be able to use the room as an outlet for their emotions, and the places that the room visited would provide information for the adults who were curious about the young minds. Lydia senses that something dark is brooding in her children s brain. As they sit down to dinner, which is all provided through the house s technology, George suggests ... • 4. Differences Between Sea Oats And Camphorweed On the Cabretta beach dunes, there is an abundance of vegetation that encompasses the area of the quadrant for each stop. The most plant diversity of one stop, was observed in a swale (Dune Stop 2), with weed oats, wax myrtle, rushes, and dog fennel. These four plants solely appeared in the swale. Sea oats and camphorweed were the most abundant planttypes in the dunes; additionally, sea oats and camphorweed can be found in multiple dune environments. Sea oats were found in dune crests, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the crests, while camphorweed was found in inter dune meadows, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the inter dune meadows (Figure ). These two plants displayed significant height differences in various dune territories. In the crest, sea oats measured at a height of 105cm, but as they grow closer to the ocean, they increase by ~63cm. As for camphorweeds, they grew to be roughly 60cm in the inter dune meadows and fore dune; however, in between the two troughs, the plant stood at an average height of... These sudden shifts in plant type abundance throughout the marsh from the marsh border to 105m into the marsh (Figure ). • 5. Human Tooth, Tooth Decay human tooth , tooth decay [pic] Human tooth Teeth of humans are small, calcified, whitish structures found in the mouth that are used to break down food. The roots of teeth are embedded in the maxilla (upper jaw) or the mandible (lower jaw) and are covered by gums. Teeth are made of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness. Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. The first set (also called the baby , milk , primary , and deciduous set) normally starts to appear at about six months of age, although some babies are born with one or more visible teeth, known as neonatal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to proper form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of tooth structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic measures, such as regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries. Causes There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin); caries causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries process does not have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to different degrees depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering capacity of their saliva. Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the oral cavity, but not the structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid demineralization that exceeds saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid demineralization occurs where food (containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though most trapped food is left between teeth, over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few cavities. Mendocinos geography, plants, and animals have been have been changing for years on the Mendocino coast, even though you may not notice it, it still happens everywhere. It s probably happening right now. Wind, water, the sun, our redwood trees, and the people who came to the Mendocino coast have been shaping Mendocino for so long to make it where it is today. Mendocino has been known for its beautiful coastline and the huge redwood trees. But not only are they both beautiful attractions they both have their own history that impacted Mendocino to make it is where it is today. Mendocino used to be a huge redwood logging town. The loggers would cut down the redwoods and then put them in the rivers so they would float down to the ocean where the trees would be put into boats and then sailed off to San Francisco where they were building a whole new city because of the gold rush. Because Mendocino was right along the ocean it was easy to trade because it was easy for the ships to come in. It also helped with the logging and how they loaded them onto the boats. • 7. Comparing My Sister Ashleigh And I My Sister Ashleigh and I When I was growing up, we were a family of three siblings. I had one younger brother. And also I had a sister, only a year younger than I was. Her name is Ashleigh. Our sister sister relationship is unique, even though, we constantly change back and forth between loving and hating one another. My sister and I have something in common; however, we are not similar in many ways. To begin with, one thing which is common in me and Ashleigh is the lovefor cooking. During leisure time I love to cook variety of dishes for my family and friends. One of the first reason that I fell in love with cooking was that the food is the universal love language. People, no matter who they are, need food to live. And everyone loves tasty food. For instance, nothing makes me feel better than inviting my girlfriends around for an afternoon tea. I make them some healthy cupcakes and some organic strawberries dipped in chocolate. We laugh, giggle, share stories and enjoy food. Also, I have a lot of memories of Christmas evenings around the table with my family enjoying delicious healthy meal. Likewise, my sister loves cooking. The reason behind her love for cooking is that it makes her feel like a rock star. She makes tasty recipes which my mother and I are not able to make. She believes that her cooked food has magic in it. For example, one afternoon her boyfriend make home from work in a bad mood. She served him a tasty lamb ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Ancient Greece Democracy Ancient Greece is often thought of as being the birthplace of democracy. However, by taking a closer look at the modes of government, it is clear that many elements of democracy today were not present in society. Democracy is viewed very differently today than it was looked at in Greece, with the meaning of equality somehow changing over thousands of years. The ways that people participated and were represented in government has also changed, and does not show many aspects of today s democracy. With taking a closer look of the representation of ancient peoples, the role of women in ancient Greek society is also not substantial. Ancient Greecewas fairly democratic because of the connections that ancient Greek government has to governments around the globe today, the participation of the people, as well as the role women played. Today democracy is often known for letting everyone have a say in government and letting people choose who represents them or letting them represent themselves. Although some aspect of democracy are prevalent in ancient Greece, there are exceptions which show how undemocratic life truly was. According to The Oration of Pericles written by Thucydides, Administration is in the hands, not of the few, but of the whole people... The shrinkage defect was precluded starting the first experiment since it can usually be corrected by proper design of the gating systems . п‚—In fact, much more experiments were needed to determine the clear causes of gas defects as such causes are so many in number. Any ways, if the matrix of the variables that produce good result can be applied by ABMI, there will obviously be a substantial saving in the cost of production. п‚—Gas defects have a number of different causes which are sometimes unique to a certain environment and working conditions. п‚—Increasing the number of parameters and variables would give more accurate results and enables to know the effect of any individual variable on the defect scenario but, it costs is high. • 12. Sentiment Analysis Assignment Hi Girish, Personally I do like the idea of linking such natural phenomenon to emotions. It would be great if you can share more about the project you can come to one of project TAs OH once we reach week 3. The following notes is some open ended questions/thinkings based on your post. Please feel free to follow up. 1.causality v.s. correlation: The Aristotle explanation gives us a direct casual relation between celestial bodies and emotions. I m sure you does not buy this much. But it could be a good question to ask: Whether the celestial events affect our emotions by changing the dynamics of our body, by some social economic events (e.g. An EMP that interrupts the production) or by the myths or beliefs only. As you use the word correlation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We have two data set: one is the celestial events and the other is some emotion index/crime index. The final step of calculating correlation probably won t takes much (well, actually it could be really serious if you are taking an econometrist s perspective). So I guess you will apply a lot of machine learning skills for the sentiment analysis? I wonder if it is that necessary since a lot of works have been done on this. You can check out this, a toolkit from Healey Ramaswamy : https: //www.csc.ncsu.edu/faculty/healey/tweet_viz/ Also, the violences, homicides, suicides reported sounds like a more reliable data source for this problem (see the next note). I would suggest talking with a TA to clarify the scope of this project is appropriate. 3.Google Trend Before starting the data preparation, I would suggest using Google Trend to try out some patterns first. For example, homicides in news: https://www.google.com/trends/explore?gprop=news q=homicides. 4.Scale of correlation If finally you find out there is such correlation, I would suggest some quantitive compaision between daily fluctuation of people s emotion to see how large these disturbances are (so we can decide if we really need the emergency ... The tests were administered to children in several communities of differing economic and racial complexion, and the results showed that regardless of community, black children identified with the black dolls, but that children of either race tended to view the white dolls favorably and the black dolls unfavorably. • 17. The 400 Blows By Francois Truffaut The 400 Blows is a great film. It is a testimony to Francois Truffaut s greatness. This is a film about a young French boy that has a troubled childhood. He was a rebel of sorts. He got in some trouble in the classroom and out of the classroom. He wasn t necessarily more troublesome than any other kid during that time. I think he is misunderstood and put in difficult situations. This French Film Noir had music, scenery, and a unique freeze frame that made this film great. Music added to this film. French music and classical music was played in the background. At no time was there any lyrics to the songs being played. I think this was advantageous as the camera angles captured the emotion of Antoine and other characters. Also the scene itself often in Paris was full of hustle and bustle. It s a big city so the city sounds where heard. Thus music with lyrics were not needed. I think the final scene is a great scene. This scene is of Antoine running away for the last time going to the ocean. Quiet and unique percussion music was being played as he was running towards the ocean. Scenery itself was set for the most part in Paris France. This was a city that was full of business day and night. The streets were crowded with pedestrians and cars were seen zooming by. This reflected how a boy such as Antoine could be forgotten and entangled with skipping school and other poor choices. The Cell Membrane Transport Lab INTRODUCTION In the cell membrane transport lab, there were many experiments that were done such as osmosis, diffusion in a gel, diffusion in a liquid, diffusion in air, and filtration, A cell membrane transport lab is done to understand the different ways of transport and why they are all important since it relates to the human body. Osmosis occurs when a fluid, that s most likely water, passes through a semipermeable membrane. The tonicity of the solutions on both sides of the semipermeable membrane determines the outcome. It s possible to use osmosis to sort blood cells by using a hypotonic solution to deplete blood cells to distinguish and sort out the differences (Parichehreh et al 2011). The tonicity of the blood and the cells can determine the health of the body, where your body can be dehydrated to hydrate enough. Variables in this experiment is the cell when it crenates or hemolyzes until the solutions on either sides of the semipermeable membrane reaches equilibrium. If tonicity affects osmosis, then exposing a dialysis membrane full of cytoplasmic solution (containing glucose, albumin, NaCl, and starch) in an environment solution (deionized water) will cause the cell to swell and gain weight due to being a hypertonic solution and will result in glucose and NaCl passing through the semipermeable membrane and leave the cell since the particles of glucose and NaCl are small, leaving osmosis to occur until the two solutions reaches equilibrium. Obviously, it is a serious risk to the environment, and comes with many more cons than pros. Why damage our world long term not that we haven t done that already when we can just find other ways to get water for the Californians? First of all, desalination is highly expensive. According to the NewsELA article titled, California Tries One Solution to Water Problems Treating Seawater, by the Sacramento Bee staff, getting water will cost $2,257 per acre foot. This is double the price of the authority s most expensive supply of water now. Double! Already the U.S. is investing too much money in things that could be solved in a much more practical way. We don t need desalination to provide water to people. Clearly, desalination is not a realistic idea, due to the cost of it. People s water bills will go shoot through the roof, and the project is expected to cost $1 billion. One acre foot can only serve two average homes per year, meaning that desalination will only meet 7% of San Diego s annual water needs. 7% is not worth it. 7% will do nothing but damage the oceans and ocean life. Think about it this way: say that a county has 150 homes in it (which isn t even a close number, by the way). Now take those 150 homes and multiply that by 2,257. Birth order refers to the order a child is born in their family: birth order is often believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development (Wikipedia). Birth order has great effects on children, and it is seen especially in firstborn, middle born, and last born children. It is an interesting concept that will be explored in more depth in this paper. First, consider some of the characteristics seen in firstborn children. Some of the traits seen in first born children include: perfectionist, reliable, list maker, well organized, critical, serious, scholarly, seek approval, conservative, and law abiding (Lehnardt). They are also typically bad at delegating. Researchers suggest that firstborn are more highly motivated than other or later born children (Lehnardt). Firstborns are also more likely to seek help and are self critical. Firstborns are more likely to make at least $100,000 more annually than their siblings (Lehnardt). Researchers say firstborn are generally higher motivated than others. In addition, firstborns tend to score higher on IQ tests and typically get more education than their brothers and sisters (Lehnardt). That s why your general dentist may not be suitable for the job. You need an implant dentist who has been trained and certified in the procedure. Here is a quick look at the process you go through to replace a missing tooth with an implant rod. Bone Evaluation Your dentist has to evaluate the state of your bone first. This can be done through x rays and a physical examination. If your tooth has been missing for a long time, your bone may have shrunk. If you have anxiety about the procedure, the dentist may also offer drugs to sedate you. These calm you and may even put you into a light sleep, but you ll still be alert enough to follow instructions. In some cases, general anesthesia might be necessary so you sleep throughout the treatment and are unaware of what is going on. Your dentist will take your preferences into account when deciding what is best. You may want to avoid a general anesthetic at all costs. On the other hand, if the idea of bone surgery bothers you, you may prefer to be put to sleep. The Procedure First, the dentist has to access your bone. This is done by cutting open your gum and spreading back the sides. If the bone is flat, the dentist is ready to start drilling into it. If your bone has an irregular shape, the dentist will contour it first. By shaving off the raised areas, the bone will hold onto the implant more evenly and will be stronger. Drilling into your bone requires careful precision. The hole created in your bone has to be the exact depth and width needed for the implant rod. The dentist will start with a tiny drill bit and use progressively larger bits until the hole is the right size. The hole is measured periodically with a measuring pin. The pin checks for depth and alignment of the hole. When the hole is complete, the dentist may check it with an x ray to make sure everything looks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another Strategy that I use when I am using my creative talent in the centre is to be prepared and organised with my materials and equipment. I do this by collecting all the natural resources the day before so then on the day that I plan to set up the table with the natural resources I have all the loose resources in the cups and baskets. Then when I am starting my shift that day I move all the natural resources and the hot glue gun to the art bench so that when I am ready I can ask the children to help bring them outside. In Kenya SDFS form one of the most important key livelihood strategies of rural communities with dominance over the national milk sector accounting for 80% of total milk produced and a corresponding agricultural Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 30% (FAO, 2011a). Reduced LGP is likely to trigger shifts from SDFS (mixed crop and livestock production) to more dominant livestock based production systems with a high probability of offsetting the food balance due to increased frequency of failure of traditionally grown crops (Anyamba et al., 2014; Niang et al., 2014). These scenarios lead to dynamic complexities and dynamic farming systems where SDFS test and adopt both indigenous methods based on perceptions of CCV and modern technologies that work best for increased productivity (Mertz et al., 2009; Below et al, 2014). According to Giovannucci et al. Production is further compounded by limited access and control over factors of production (land, credit, assets, knowledge, technology and efficient extension services) (Giovannucci et al., 2012; Antwi Agyei et al., 2013) that aid in adaptation strategies by women who own and manage most SDFS (FAO, 2015). These can sometimes can be seen as a harmful set of actions, but as Bandelj and Sowers point out in chapter one these acts by the state have a real importance to how the economy works. The state as noted above takes an important role in managing things that are not natural. Without the government to regulate these things we not be able to sustain these now vital and constructive institutions. When someone gets a big promotion they buy a new car or sometimes even a new house to show as a visible announcement that they have improved their life. Following the horrific human rights violations committed by the Nazis in World War II, the global community began to take the proper steps to combat the notion that being at war sanctions gross abuses of human rights. It was not a lust for violence that elongated the process of establishing the ICC (international criminal court), but rather the long time battle between accepting that the world is increasingly affected by globalization and holding fast to the age old tradition of prizing state sovereignty above all. The scale of the genocidecarried out against all peoples not of Aryan descent in the 1940s was the catalyst needed to start talks about prizing guaranteed rights over the incessant need to abide by antiquated customary law. Whilst many argue that the ICC and ad hoc tribunals such as the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fail to provide a comprehensive international legal framework, they serve other important purposes. Firstly, the ICC and its parent tribunals played a major part in ending the culture of impunity. Oftentimes, in states where there are violations of international humanitarian law, the government is wrought with corruption. Politicians and government officials abuse the rights of their citizens and others under the guise of sovereign immunity. Tribunals, and later the ICC, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reaction Paper On ECG Waveform BioMedical Matlab Thesis ECG WaveformJessica Garcia, BioMedical MatLab,Thesis Final Prof. Jonathan Ibera 11 9 17 An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a waveform generated by the natural sinus rhythm of the heart. It is an electrical representation of the heart beat in form of what is known as a PQRST Complex. The physical generation of this sinusoidal heart rhythm waveform is generated by the expansion and contraction of the four different chambers of the heart that work collectively to pump blood through the human body. The biomedical piece of equipment used to measure this electrical activity of the heart is an Electro Cardiogram machine, also widely known as an ECG. This electrical signal is acquired by electrodes placed on the human body. On screen, the heart rate appears in form of a wave in which each pulse and different peaks if the waveform, known as the PQRST waveform, represents a small amount of an electrical signal. These signals have different peaks, which are representations of different levels of electrical intensity, are detected by the electrodes that then transmit the energy to a sensor that helps the processor measure the actual value of this peak. Below is a representation of the heart rate waveform and its named peaks. Upon analysis of these waveforms collected by medical professional, they are able to tell many things. For years, the black inner city youth has been oppressed through racial and economic situations and they believe that the hip hop movement is the next civil rights movement in America. They have similar intentions as Martin Luther King did during the 1960 s civil rights movement; their way of peaceful protest is through the four main areas involved in hip hop culture: DJing, breakdancing, graffiti, and most importantly rap music (Romano). The East and West coast were always competing against each other through means of hop hop. It was all about which region had the better DJs, graffiti artist, b boys and b girls, and MCs. Each element of hip hop had a positive impact on American culture. B boying and b girling (breakdancing) was the beginning of the hip hop movement and it ended lots of violent gang warfare because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. The Theme Of Disillusionment Disillusionment Paul and his friends became disillusioned with Kantorek, their school teacher who told them about the war, and how they should join immediately because they would be respected by women and be better men. Assuming that they would come back home unaffected by the war, they join patriotically. However, they began to question their elders and the wisdom they have given them because they said it was an honor to fight for their country, but it really was a nightmare. They were treated like animals. Even though this is set in WWI in 1915, disillusionment is something that all people may experience even today. Comradeship Paul and his friends all went to school together. It is one thing to be friends at school, but the war made them become even closer because of the experiences they went through. They save each other s lives, they share, and they help each other. They have different social classes at home, some are wealthier than others, but that does not matter at war. • 54. The World Is Flat, By Thomas Friedman In our world of a frequently mutable economy, there is no such thing as a sure thing. The rollercoaster effect of falling and rising expenses and needs for jobs are continuously changing as our times become more and more digital. Americans are finding that the life they cherish so dearly may be gone in a matter of seconds. Most however, lack the concept of why everything seems to be slipping away. People have become too comfortable riding of the coat tails of innovators that paved the way before them and they are finding themselves lost in the shuffle. The rest of the world is catching up and in the words of Thomas Friedman, in The World is Flat, [we] simply are not educating, or even interesting, enough of our own young people in advanced math, science, and engineering (349). Therefore, we must combat this issue at hand. America has grown idle due to the achievements of previous ideas and although we have been amusing ourselves, bathing in our own narcissism, we are no longer at the top, no longer a positive anomaly. We aren t producing skilled and knowledgeable workers to keep our superiority, which is a direct result of an extremely problematic educationsystem. Thus, in order to repair the damages done and the severe amount of problems in the American education system, a better functioning national system of higher educationmust be established. I suggest that vocational/technological schools should be combined to join in with the free community collegeproposal. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Foundations Of The Building Transfer FOUNDATIONS The foundations of the building transfer the weight of the building to the ground. While foundation is really a general word, normally, every building has many individual foundations, commonly called footings. Usually each column of the building will have its individual footing. Since the weight of the building rests on the land (or rock), engineers have to study the properties of the soil very carefully to ensure it can carry the loads imposed because of the building. It is common for engineers to determine the safe bearing capacity of your soil after such study. Because the name suggests, this is the amount of weight per unit area your soil can bear. For instance, the safe bearing capacity(SBC) for a location could be 20 T/m2, or perhaps tonnes per square metre. That capacity also changes at different depths of soil. In normal, the deeper one digs, the greater the SBC, unless there are pockets of weak soil in the earth. To properly support a building, the soil must become very firm and strong. It is common for the soil near the top of earth to be loose along with weak. If a building is rested within this soil, it will sink in the earth like a ship in water. Building contractors will commonly dig until they reach quite firm, strong, soil that can not be dug up easily before building a foundation. To study the properties of the soil before designing foundations, engineers will request a soil investigation to be achieved. A soil investigation engineer will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Cognitive Behavior Therapy And Mental Disorders Cognitive Behavior Therapy Cognitive behavior therapy is a great way to help people with depression. According to Wright, Cognitive behavior therapy is a pragmatic, action oriented treatment approach that has become a widely used psychotherapy for major mental disorders. Cognitive behavior therapy methods were initially developed for depression and anxiety disorders, and later they were modified for many other conditions, including personality disorders, eating disorders, and substance abuse; they have also been adapted for use as an adjustment to medication in the management of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (Wright, 2006). Cognitive behavior theory is mainly used with depression and anxiety. Many people of all ages are affected by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They may express thought of being overwhelmed and that there is so much to accomplish that they can never do it (Corey, 2012). Depression even though can be treated by medication and therapy; it can still lead to problems in the future when clients stop taking medication and therapy. Everyone has automatic thoughts, but in clinical states such as depression and anxiety disorders, these cognitions are often riddled with errors in logic. In depression, automatic thoughts typically center on themes of negativity, low self esteem, and ineffectiveness (Wright, 2006). Aaron Beck studied depression and focused on what triggers depression. Beck developed specific cognitive procedures to help depressive clients evaluate their assumptions and beliefs and to create a new cognitive perspective that can lead to optimism and change behavior (Corey, 2012). The first component of the triad includes clients holding negative views of themselves, they also blame their setbacks on personal inadequacies without considering circumstantial explanations. The people are convinced that they lack the qualities in order to be happy. Examples of this would be I am a boring person , I am uninteresting , I am too sad for anyone to like me. The second component is the tendency to interpret their personal world in a negative manner. They tend to focus on certain facts conform to their negative conclusions. An example for this would be No one appreciates my job. The last component ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
