2. Three Design Pattern, that is:
• Subject Centered Design
• Learner Centered Design
• Problems Centered Design
The preparation of curriculum design can be seen
from two dimensions, namely Horizontal and
Vertical. The horizontal dimensions with respect
to the complication of the scope of the curriculum
content. The vertical dimensions concerning the
preparation of the sequence of materials according
to the order of degree of difficulty.
3. The curriculum is centered
on content or the material
to be taught. The
curriculum is composed of
a number of subjects, and
the subjects are taught
separately.
4. Subject Centered Design
• The Subject of Design
• The Disciplines of Design
• The Broad Fields Design
5. 2. Learner-Centered Design
This design is different
from the subject centered,
which departed from the
ideals for preserving and
passing on culture, and the
need for experimentation
and expression and beauty.
6. 3. Problem Centered Design
Problem centered design
stems from the philosophy that
prioritizes the role of man (man-
centered). The problem of
human centered design
emphasizes the unity of the
group, namely the welfare of
society.
7. Problem Centered Design
• The Areas of Living Design
• The Core Design
This design has some kindness compared with other
forms of design:
1. The areas of living design but in an integrated
form
2. Because the curriculum is organized around the
child’s individual problems in social life, then this
design encourage the problem solving learning
procedure.
3. Problems presenting teaching material in a
relevant form, is to solve real life.
4. The design presents the teaching material in a
functional form.
8. The Core Design
1. The Separate Subject Core
2. The Correlated Core
3. The Fused Core
4. The Activity/Experience Core
5. The Areas of Living Core
6. The Social Problems Core
