1. How did you
attract/address your
audience?

2. O When it came to addressing my audience, I
wanted to take inspiration from other magazines
such as Q. Their approach attracts the same
audience I would want to attract. The magazine
uses some informal and formal language and
effective techniques to attract their audience.
O My target audience are 15/16 - 25 year olds, and
therefore using Q as a similar approach would
be effective. I knew that my product had to be
appealing and eye catching to attract the
audience I wanted and I had to have the right
mode of address. I believe this is portrayed in
my magazine

3. Front Cover
Firstly I used a bold masthead to make it
stand out on a shelf. The bright colour
scheme can attract a reader and make it
distinctive. Therefore I have used these
colours to highlight my sell lines, splash, pug
and web address.
The language I’ve used on the front cover is
short but catch an will entice the reader into
buying and further reading the magazine.
The pug also helps attract the reader by
advertising the amount of reviews that HITS
produces. It helps draw the reader in and
absorb the rest of the page.
The image of Michael on the front cover
attracts the reader as he looks very formal
but cool. I made sure Michael had ‘the gaze’
so that he looks directly into the camera so it
looks as if he is looking directly at the
reader, this may form a connection and
encourage the reader to purchase the
magazine.

4. Contents Page
On my contents page I have
included a features section the
length of the page and a reviews
section. I have done this so this is
more contents and more stories to
interest more readers.
I have also included a footer bar
with all the social media icons that
we have accounts with, I have done
this for the benefit of the
technophiles within my target
audience, by doing this we can
attract a bigger audience and then
further give them more content and
chances to get involved.

5. Double Page Spread
The most obvious way of
addressing the audience in my
article is the mode of address,
it was a first person exclusive
interview, therefore there are
uses of some slang words and
laid back language, it would
attract a young reader as they
will feel connected.
At the end of the article there is
information about when
Michaels new single is to be
released, I have included this
because I feel it would appeal
to the young readers as they
will get first information and
access to his new single, this
will help to make the readers
feel special and as if they’re
getting first class treatment.
