2. #2. How did you attract/address your audience? In attracting my audience I have mainly relied on the front cover of my magazine as it is the one part of it that people will look at first, however I also focused a bit on my contents page. I did this because if neither of them are appealing to them enough then they will not bother looking inside. The way in which I attracted my audience varies. First of all, I have tried making my magazine look eye catching by using quite bald and bright colours, trying to combine together the colours that people suggested the most in my questionnaire/survey. Another way in which I have attracted my target audience is that I used a fancy font for my masthead and also reversed it backwards so that it would draw a lot of attention to it. I decided to keep the rest of the text on the front cover plain and simple in order to make my magazine look neat and stop it from looking too busy. I have also tried phrasing the cover lines in simple way for the reader to understand but also to convince them into buying the magazine by making the cover lines interesting to my potential target audience hoping to achieve an effect that once they have read it they will have to buy it. I have tried including everything I could on the front cover to interest the reader. I included some information about interviews that the reader can read more about inside the magazine, information about gigs and festivals and also information about having a chance to win festival tickets. On my contents page I have tried making the background a little fancy by adding a few patterns and I have also included photographs of artists that the reader can find more about inside the magazine. I chose to have the photographs overlapping because I think it makes an interesting effect that draws attentionand makes them look a bit messy and unorganized therefore I thought it may apply to my target audience as they are quite young people that like a bit of craziness.
