Evaluation question 3
1. What have you learned from audience
feedback?
Audience feedback allows me to communicate with my ‘target audience’
and enable them to look at my work. Feedback is significant in my research
and creative process as it shows my progression and what I should be
doing to improve. I had to find out what my target audience wanted to see in
my product. To do this, I created surveys, target audience profiles and
made a Facebook page including people who I would see as my audience.
In addition, teachers feedback was important for me to see my strengths
and weaknesses and work on areas o improvement with support.
2. Media Questions (Facebook Feedback Page)
By creating this feedback
page on social media, it has
allowed me to interact with
my target audience to see
what they like about my
magazine and talk about
what they want inside my
products. My peers and class
members have had their
opinions on my work
throughout my A2 year,
allowing me to make my work
better than AS. My aim is to
engage with my target
audience so that I know I am
including the right contents.
This page has been very
helpful in order for me to
follow a direct genre. My
audience response has
allowed me to show my work
to others and see what they
like or don’t like, therefore, it
makes my work more
valuable for my audience to
see as I have included their
ideas.
3. Surveys
As part of my research, I created an audience survey via Survey Monkey. This gave me evidence to
support my ideas and show information about my target audience. It showed how I changed areas of
my products based on my audiences views and characteristics. The sorts of questions I asked in the
survey would find out the dominant gender, age, interests and media they were into. From this, I
could identify areas of interest and include them in my magazine, making it easier for me to appeal to
a specific audience. I used my findings to make my products have a distinctive style to interest my
readers.
4. Teachers Feedback
I feel like this year, teachers feedback has been more efficient and helpful. Throughout my
coursework and media products, my lecturer has commented on my posts to say what I have done
well and where to improve. Having support along the way has enabled me to make my work more
professional and make sure that I am on the right track. As the process has gone on with my
products, I have printed them out along the way so that my lecturer has kept track of my work and
made sure I am using their help to improve. I think that teachers feedback is very important as you
need to have that help and support to make sure you are doing your work right. If I didn’t have that, it
would mean that I am not improving my weaknesses, therefore, making my work less appealing to
my audience.
