ABSTRACT India has emerged as a global leader and a strong nation. Education is the key to the task of nation building as well as to provide
requisite knowledge and skills required for sustained growth of the economy and to ensure overall progress. According to the Census Data 2011, India

India's education system is divided into different levels such as preprimary level, primary level, elementary education, secondary education,
undergraduate level and postgraduate level. ACHIEVEMENTS IN EDUCATION SECTOR By the end of the 10th Plan period, National Literacy
Mission (NLM) which was launched in 1988, covering the age group 15–35 years), had made 127.45million persons literate, of which, 60% were
females, 23% belonged to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 12% to Scheduled Tribes (STs). It led to an increase of 12.63% in literacy– the highest increase
in any decade. Female literacy increased by 14.38%, SC literacy by 17.28% and ST literacy by 17.50%.In a special lecture organized by National
Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA), Nobel Laureate Prof. AmartyaSen, emphasized the importance ofliteracy citing examples of developed
countries. He said that the lack of proper education is the root cause of many problems in India and hailed the Right to Education as a very important
step. www.indianresearchjournals.com ERADICATION OF ILLITERACY Post
–independence India inherited a system of education which was
characterised by large scale inter and intra–regional imbalances. The country's literacy rate in 1947 was only 14 per cent and female literacy was very
badly low at 8 per cent. As per recently concluded census 2011, Literacy rate in India has significantly increased from 18.33% in the year 1951 to
74.04% in the year 2011 (Table No.1). More women literates added in

Free From Hunger And Under Nutrition Essay
EMERGENCE THROUGH RIGHT TO FOOD CAMPAIGN Each and every individual has fundamental right to be free from hunger and under
nutrition. For the accomplishment of this right we need to have equitable and sustainable food system. Moreover we also need to have other
entitlements such as livelihood security in terms of right to work, land reform and social security. And every state has the responsibility to take care of
these rights of its citizens or it can be said that to ensure these entitlements must be the primary responsibility of the state. To meet these entitlements
government introduced various aspects of the right to food such as "National Employment Guarantee Act", "Universal Mid–Day Meals in primary
schools", Universalization of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) for children under the age of six", effective implementation of the of
all nutrition– related schemes", "revival and universalization of the public distribution system", to arrange social security for those who are not able to
work", equitable land rights and forests rights". Indian parliament has introduced the cooked Mid–Day meals in all primary schools following a
Supreme Court order of April 2004. To take this further on 9th April 2002 national "day of action on Mid–Day meals" was celebrated. This event was
instrumental in persuading several state governments to initiate cooked mid–day meals in primary schools. On 28th November 2001, the Supreme
Court directed to the state governments to

The Prevalence Of Social Inequalities
The article starts with the prevalence of social inequalities in the Indian society. It says that inequalities are distributed in the Indian society by the
prevalent social structures which are based on caste, class and gender. So the people who get benefited from the development policy of the country
are the ones who have mostly the high status and the fruits of policies that are formed reach to the higher sections of the society leaving behind the
weaker sections of the society. The weaker sections of the society are those who have been marginalized for years.
E.g.: Industrialization and privatization came in India saying that it will benefit the society as it will help to reduce unemployment by creating more
jobs. Yes, there is no doubt, that it created N number of job opportunities. But for whom? It created job opportunities for them who were well educated
and competent. It did not created jobs for the people who are marginalized or those whose lands were acquired in the process of setting up industries.
They are still struggling.
The article then takes on by defining "Resilience of social structures" which means the perpetuation of social inequalities through hierarchical division
of society and this resilience does not allow equality to prevail by excluding some groups. This concept of resilience of social structures prevails
throughout the theme of this article that is on MID DAY MEAL SCHEME.

Employee benefits in India:
An introduction
Ravi Shekhar, CFA, (ICFAI), APA
India is a unique conundrum. With employment opportunities galore and an open war for talent, employers are trying to find innovative ways to win
over the 60% of the population that is under the age of 25.
Indian companies historically have provided employee benefits such as health coverage, leave benefits and statutory retirement programmes. These
were provided by old economy sectors dominated by manufacturing firms, engineering companies, government–owned enterprises and others. They
were targeted towards a generation who believed and adhered to the concept of lifelong employment. However, as the economy grew, people... Show

Recently, the insurance regulator issued instructions as a result of which new members may not be admitted until the regulator has announced new
regulations governing the plans. Once those regulations are released, the insurers will need to restructure their products to be in compliance before the
employers can offer the benefits to new employees.2 iii.
Pension plans: Legacy pension plans in India are limited to certain industries (like banks, mines, plantation, railways and others) or were created in
other cases as a result of union pressures. Very few private companies sponsor pension plans in India.
2IRDA has issued new guidelines in March 2013, and insurance companies are working towards adhering to them and opening the superannuation
plans for new members after the changes.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Schizoaffective Disorder
The term schizoaffective was started to describe the co–occurrence of both psychotic and affective symptoms. Schizophrenia technically did not exist
until around 100 years ago. Until then most people thought it was demons in the person's body. The Ancient Egyptians thought people with mental
illness had a bad physical illness. Overtime, the diagnosis schizoaffective disorder was added to diagnostic manuals. These patients can be very
suspicious of others and often have grand schemes of persecution at the root of their behavior. Hallucinations, and more frequently delusions, are a
prominent and common part of their illness. Signs and symptoms of schizoaffective disorder typically develop between the late teenage years to

(Wilson & Heckers, 2014) Paranoia Emotional processes and self –esteem have been known to play to a big role in generation and maintenance of
paranoia symptoms. Patients with paranoia are suspicious and mistrusting, manifested as hypersensitivity and believing others will hurt or exploit
them. These people often appear tense, with no emotion and find it hard to relax. Others may perceive them as hostile, dumb and defensive. The
patient may experience persecutory and grandiose delusions and hallucinations. The main symptom is permanent delusion. In paranoia the
symptoms of delusion appear gradually, and the patient is sentimental, suspicious, and irritable for example (Thewissen & Myingermeys, 2011).
Case Study A 51 y/o male A.C admitted on 09/17/2015 for adjustment disorder but later change to schizoaffective disorder. Brought in by sheriff

Bundelkhand region is affected by the menace of droughts since over a decade. As the article emphasise that the major reason behind the grief and
catastrophe in the region is drought followed by flood, hailstorm and irregularity in rainfall. But ecological and environmental factors alone are not
responsible for the crisis in the region. There are other reasons such as failure of government programmes which has been applied for mitigating
drought and other programmes related to nutrition and food security. Thus government cannot simply blame the crisis as a natural phenomenon and

For overcoming the problem related to PDS one should give emphasis to universal public distribution system as in other state of India such as
Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu instead of targeted public distribution system (TPDS). The reason is, in TPDS one has to target the
beneficiaries to find out who deserves BPL category and who deserves APL category and it is in the process of targeting where the biasness and
corruption starts. But when the distribution system becomes universal means everyone is eligible corruption declines because it reduces the power of
authorities to do corruption through colluding and divergence and leakage of foodgrains also decline manifold. Moreover, rich will be automatically
excluded because he do not have enough times to come to the ration shop, stand in line and wait for his turn to purchase the grain but real poor can
wait for its turn.
Since major portion of population in the region is rural and is dependent on agriculture in one way or the other and when drought occurs their
livelihood is severely hampered. Thus there must be some substitute work so that the people can earn their livelihood. As far as industrialisation is
considered this region is the most poor though it is very rich in resource availability. In comparison with other parts of the state Bundelkhand region

How Films Like That Of The Marriage Of Maria Braun
After World War II, most of Germany was in ruins, under masses of rubble. Its infrastructure was in shambles and its economy was rapidly declining.
Poverty was basically inevitable for many German citizens. However, by mid–century, many scholars believed West Germany experienced what
scholars termed as the "economic miracle." However, such depiction caused many people to neglectfully overlook just how intense hardships were
for West German citizens during that time. This was especially so for the German woman after the war had come to its close in 1945. Husbands,
fathers, and brothers were returning home wounded or not returning at all, so many women came to realize it was time for them to rebuild society in
the absence of their men. This paper aims to examine how films like that of The Marriage of Maria Braun explicitly depict how one German woman
was able to embody postwar Germany through untraditional but realistic methods.
The director, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, was born in May of 1945. This was in the waning days of the Second Great War. He grew up in the poverty
and economic depression that the war had left for German citizens to endure and he particularly experienced it firsthand. He officially resided with
his mother in Munich, Germany after his parents received a divorce when he was five for undisclosed reasons. As an adolescent, he soon became a
fan of German movie directors, such as Douglas Sirk and his famous productions of melodramas. As a result, he began to

True Flies Research Paper
True flies are insects of the order Diptera (from the Greek di = two, and ptera = wings). The most obvious distinction from other orders of insects
is that a typical fly possesses a pair of flight wings on the mesothorax and a pair of halteres, derived from the hind wings, on the metathorax. (Some
species of flies are exceptional in that they are secondarily flightless.) The only other order of insects bearing two true, functional wings plus any
form of halteres are the Strepsiptera, and in contrast to the flies, the Strepsiptera bear their halteres on the mesothorax and their flight wings on the

In some flies, this is a temporary rotation during mating, but in others, it is a permanent torsion of the organs that occurs during the pupal stage. This
torsion may lead to the anus being located below the genitals, or, in the case of 360В° torsion, to the sperm duct being wrapped around the gut,
despite the external organs being in their usual position. When flies mate, the male initially flies on top of the female, facing in the same direction, but
then turns round to face in the opposite direction. This forces the male to lie on his back for his genitalia to remain engaged with those of the female,
or the torsion of the male genitals allows the male to mate while remaining upright. This leads to flies having more reproduction abilities than most
insects, and at a much quicker rate. Flies occur in great populations due to their ability to mate effectively and in a short period of time during the mating

How To Read Literature Like A Professor By Thomas Foster...
nterludes:
"Does He Mean That?"–
I am confused with this interlude. Foster seems to skip from thing to thing without any real point or plan going on. He is first talking about how
authors intentionally incorporate all the work they allude to and all the symbols they use. He then goes on to talk about how writers write for their
intended audience; how they parallel something the reader is already familiar with. Next, mid–paragraph, he begins explaining the time he's spent
writing these few pages, he tells the readers of his stumbling over writing this piece. To finish off the chapter he discusses lateral thinking and how it
can only be acquired with time and practice. To me it seemed that this chapter was all over the place with ideas, making it very hard to understand the
point the author was trying to get across.
"One Story"–

Foster, intertextuality is defined as "the ongoing interaction between poems or stories. This intertextual dialogue deepens and enriches the reading
experience, bringing multiple layers of meaning to the text." One example of intertextuality is in "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, one of the main
characters is reading Harper Lee's famous novel "To Kill a Mocking Bird." It is a white man reading a book where black people, for the most part,
have rights and respect. In the 1930's this was not a common site, to the other black characters this is a hint he is one of the good guys. Without
having read "To Kill a Mockingbird" this point would have been completely missed, but when understanding the reference it brings a deeper
appreciation and adds to the text. Another example is

Service delivery failures arise because of a fundamental problem with accountability. Policymakers provide service to the people but the link between

The Power Of Spirituality
What a remarkable sight: a man dressed in a suit of clothes climbing out of a baptismal tank full of water after he intentionally jumped in. What caused
him to plunge into the tank with his suit and tie on? The story began when my wife, Ann, studied the Bible with a woman whose heart burned with a
desire to understand more about Jesus, who I will call Samantha. As they studied the Bible together, Samantha understood more about the power of
Jesus' love from the Bible than ever before and realized that baptism was her next step. Her husband, who I will call Nick, also possessed a deep
interest in spirituality. However, his passion took a different direction. He embraced transcendental meditation and supported a New Age organization.

He stood before everyone, perched on the ledge of the baptistery. He stated, "I so much appreciate Keith and Ann's ministry to my wife and me, but
I do not accept any human authority, so I baptize myself." Then he knelt, white linen suit and all, rolled over on his back and plunged in the
baptistery with a splash. He sank to the bottom, where he remained for what seemed like minutes. When he surfaced and stepped out of the water,
I beheld a sight I've never seen before, a man wearing a soaking wet suit and tie. After he dried off I visited with him about how baptism represents
surrendering to a relationship with Jesus. If we assign our own meaning for baptism it loses its biblical meaning. While I can acknowledge the funny
side of this story, in being honest I must admit that at times I've done the same thing. Maybe I haven't plunged into a baptismal tank wearing a suit
of clothes, but I have resisted surrendering all to Jesus. That means I can hold on to doing things my way, instead of Jesus' way. Attempting to live a
Christian life without embracing the struggle to give up on my way of doing things would be like visiting a gourmet restaurant with my wife, sitting
at a table with delicate white china, dim lights, and candles, ordering our favorite entrees and then just smelling the food. It would be like taking my
young son to an awesome playground, only to have him stand around. Or paying the high admission price to Six Flags or Disneyland

work. More recently seen in Aamir Khan's 'Satyameva Jayate', his documentaries have galvanized international attention towards the issues of caste and
untouchability in contemporary India. Spanning across eight states of the country and taking almost 4 years, 'India Untouched' is a chilling yet
grasping tale of the caste hierarchy and related discrimination seen in various nooks and corners. Comprehensively looking at these issues, tracing them

Education Is A Lifelong Exercise Essay
Education:
Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to
the next through teaching, training, research, or simply through auto didacticism. Generally, it occurs through any experience that has a formative
effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts. It is important that "education" includes "literacy, but it is not confined to literacy alone. It comprehends
much more. It is the acquiring knowledge or learning, together with equipment, which provides skill and the inclination for making profitable use of
that knowledge. Since the acquiring of the knowledge and improvement of the skills for its application are parts of a dynamic process, education is a
lifelong exercise. Education itself is a very dynamic concept and with recent steps of the people all over the country education became the right of the
people in the country. With the right it became responsibility of the State to make sure that all the children between age of 6–14 yrs to have Free and

Aw: A Short Story
"How about, 'aw, you are a very independent young lady and I admire you for it.' Something along those lines," I joked.
"Aw, you are a very independent young lady and I admire that about you," he mimicked me in an emotionless, screechy tone, while grabbing his third
sandwich. "Are you happy?"
Somehow he took what I said and turned it into a mock, which is very rude. "Sorry, but you really don't like seeing people cheerful, do you?"
"How do you assume that?" He sat back up, faced my way and smirked; waiting eagerly for my response.
"In the short time I have known you, I never once heard you speak nicely about somebody without being sarcastic or throwing in a jab. Its like you
search for any negative thing to say, even when it's not advocated."
"Basically, you're saying I should compliment people for something that should be expected of them?"
"It wouldn't hurt to do it from time to time."
He gave me a long, serious gaze, which made me felt a bit uncomfortable. "Impossible."
What does he mean by impossible? He truly is a strange character, but I'm finding him quite intriguing for an odd reason. "Could you give it a try? For
my sakes at the very least."
"No," he rudely sneered. "Why would I do anything for your sake?"
Of course you can't; I don't know why I even bother to ask. "Why not? It's generous, thoughtful and can make..."

China is the fastest growing market for entertainment in Asia and this can be attributed to the rapid growth of the middle class in China, compounded
with the reinvestment of money by overseas Chinese in their now flourishing country. Disney very rightly identified this as their target market.
Disney Keeping their target customers and consumer in mind, Disney took into consideration the various cultural nuances and sensitivities of its host

Kong population as well as visitors from Southern part of China and visitors from South East Asian countries. Disney rightly identified the importance
of Feng Shui and Numerology in Chinese culture and incorporated the same in designing Disney land in Hong Kong.

Persuasive Essay On Child Obesity
Over the recent years, public concerns are drawn to fast growing number of children who are obese mainly caused by unhealthy eating. Child obesity
lead to serious health problems and affecting mental well–being in childhood and later adult life. Therefore, healthy and balanced diets are crucial to
prevent child obesity and help them to grow and develop well. In 2004, chef Jamie Oliver's Channel 4 television programme 'Feed Me Better' led a
healthier dinner campaign to improve the low quality of food served in 80 schools. The public demanded for healthier school meals and supported for
increased school meal funding. Nick Clegg, deputy prime minister, initiated the free school meals scheme. Since September 2014, all children under
age of 8 attending state–funded schools in England are eligible for free hot meal at lunchtime every day. The policy is aiming to ensure that all
children have chance to healthy lunch every day at school, improve children's health, behavior, educational attainment and social skills, promote long
term healthy eating habits; support families with the cost of living, and eliminate disincentives to work.
The UK government set the Free School Meals (FSM) pilot to investigate a range of impacts on the pupil outcomes. The two–year programme begins
from September 2009 in three local authorities across the UK. In Durham and the London Borough of Newham, all primary school children in these
areas were given free school lunches, in Wolverhampton the

Hotel's stays followed by other accommodation are essential for a traveler visit. This gave rise to a new concept known as Bread and Breakfast. The
term Bed and Breakfast first evolved in England, Scotland and Ireland whereas terms such as paradors, pensions, gasthaus, minskukus, shukukos and

Understanding B&B: Definitions
The subsequent definitions are used by the American Bed & Breakfast Association:
B&B Home Stay: A private, owner–occupied residence in visitors is incidental to the primary use of the building as a private residence. One to five

"Education is the Most Powerful Weapon Which You Can Use to Change the World."– Nelson Mandela.
We are living in a society influence by change. People's way of living and thinking is shaped by technical, economical and social evolution. The
globalized markets, the technical and technological revolutions are transforming the modern economy into a "knowledge based society" in which new
ways of organizing the work are governing the world, demanding high performance technologies, solid knowledge and increasing responsibilities. For
the future of society , education will play the key part in the way of life specific to this education and knowledge–based society. Introducing in the
educational system of new learning and teaching techniques is a prerequisite of national cultural success, as much as it is also a prerequisite of
economic competitiveness
Education is derived from word "Educare" 'Educare' is defined as "to develop the knowledge, skill, or character of individual" Thus, from these
definitions, we can say that purpose of education is to develop the knowledge, skill, or character of students.
Now education has become a global concern. The world conference on 'Education For All' held in March, 1990 in Jomitien, Thailand adopted a
declaration calling upon all member states and international agencies to take effective steps

The Abolitionist Movement: The Underground Railroad Movement
"Slavery is such an atrocious debasement of human nature, that its very extirpation, if not performed with solicitous care, may sometimes open a
source of serious evils." (Benjamin Franklin, For the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, 1789). Like Franklin, many
Northerners, both blacks and whites, were spreading a movement. The movement was called abolitionism and its goal was to eradicate slavery.
Most of the abolitionists used protest rallies to protest and bring an end to slavery. Some of the abolitionists used other methods that were deemed
unlawful. The Underground Railroad was one such form of abolitionism, where the Southern black slaves were helped to escape north to Canada, the
popular refuge for slaves at the time. The "railroad" was in use from around 1810 to the 1860s, during the time of the Civil War. Ironically, the

Over 100,000 slaves escaped the dreaded conditions of the South, and achieved freedom up north. The usefulness of the Underground Railroad and its
purpose helped open the eyes of people from the North, who originally turned their backs against helping slaves. The Underground Railroad
undermined the institution of slavery, and the Southern slave and plantation owners were enraged in how this "railroad" swept away their slaves,
which reduced the number of slaves working in the plantation, which was harmful for the plantation owners' businesses. The Underground Railroad
played a central role in the North versus South conflict in the mid–19th century, which ultimately led to the breakout of the Civil War. The
Underground Railroad was used until 1865, when the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was passed, which abolished slavery completely. The end of
slavery marked the end of the use of the Underground

The operations of McDonald's restaurants are supported by a system that involves three main components, what Ray Kroc titled the three legged stool.
The first leg is McDonald's and its core values of quality, service, cleanliness and value. The second leg is franchisees. Each encouraged to be
innovative, but also required to operate within the core values established by McDonald's. The third leg being McDonald's suppliers, consistently
supply products across business segments in order to recreate the McDonald's experience at every location. Creating an operating system based on the
three legged stool philosophy, Kroc was able to invent the most integrated, efficient and innovative supply system in the food service industry, thus
controlling inventory, quality and repetitive production within each business segment. (McDonald's Corporation, n.d.)
Much like any major corporation, McDonald's utilizes its functional areas to create compatibility within its infrastructure. As described in our text
(Chapter 5 of Exploring Business), the success of a business lies in the ability to manage and grow. McDonald's Corporation has established a system

Evaluating the Millenium Development Goals
In the present study we evaluate the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as a framework for measuring development and assess how India and
its states are doing in terms of the MDGs. The global community and the UN are busy reviewing the Millennium declaration during ten years into the
new millennium. There is a race of the nations to attain their MDGs. Many countries around the world are part of this project and making independent
assessment of their country situation. The achievement of the MDGs critically depends on India in world. The sheer size of India and its large share in
world population contribute a huge proportion to the global burden of poverty, hunger, malnourishment, illiteracy, diseases and gender discriminations
among the other human development problems. MDGs aim to erase these problems from the face of the earth. India has large area with different social
dimensions and inequity of distribution among economic classes and social groups. Fundamentals to the absolute and relative size of India's burden of
these problems are the challenges. At the sub–national level a complete understanding of the underlying problem in both quantitative and qualitative
terms requires extensive analysis (MDGs India Country Report 2010). This chapter presents overview of all these aspects and a synthesis of key
findings and conclusions. Introduction First chapter presents general introduction and perspective approach of the study. The chapter begins with

For many of these children, this may be the only meal they get all day. While this program could be a life saver for millions, it is plagued with

including lizards have also been found, causing 16 students to feel dizzy. Worse still, in 2013, at least 22 children were dead after poison in the
school lunch, with dozens more hospitalized. "By nightfall...officials said they believed they had found the cause: cooking oil stored in a container
formerly used for insecticides" (Harris). The problem with school lunches in India is the "lack of proper storage facilities" (Chatterjee). The schools
lacked the finances to have dry locations to store grain, and as a result, a lot had to be stored in the open. Once it starts raining, the bugs move in.
Additionally, the people living in these parts of India cannot afford to throw things away. As a result, everything is reused, especially. Unfortunately, the
insecticide container was not marked properly, and therefore food products were stored inside. The government of India had good intentions when

For the accomplishment of this right we need to have equitable and sustainable food system. It did not created jobs for the people who are marginalized or those whose lands were acquired in the process of setting up industries. They are still struggling. The article then takes on by defining "Resilience of social structures" which means the perpetuation of social inequalities through hierarchical division of society and this resilience does not allow equality to prevail by excluding some groups. • 10. The Prevalence Of Social Inequalities 1.THRUST OF THE ARTICLE: The article starts with the prevalence of social inequalities in the Indian society. It says that inequalities are distributed in the Indian society by the prevalent social structures which are based on caste, class and gender. So the people who get benefited from the development policy of the country are the ones who have mostly the high status and the fruits of policies that are formed reach to the higher sections of the society leaving behind the weaker sections of the society. The weaker sections of the society are those who have been marginalized for years. E.g.: Industrialization and privatization came in India saying that it will benefit the society as it will help to reduce unemployment by creating more jobs. Yes, there is no doubt, that it created N number of job opportunities. But for whom? It created job opportunities for them who were well educated and competent. This concept of resilience of social structures prevails throughout the theme of this article that is on MID DAY MEAL SCHEME. The main theme that this article covers is that ... Its infrastructure was in shambles and its economy was rapidly declining. Poverty was basically inevitable for many German citizens. However, by mid–century, many scholars believed West Germany experienced what scholars termed as the "economic miracle." However, such depiction caused many people to neglectfully overlook just how intense hardships were for West German citizens during that time. This was especially so for the German woman after the war had come to its close in 1945. Husbands, fathers, and brothers were returning home wounded or not returning at all, so many women came to realize it was time for them to rebuild society in the absence of their men. This paper aims to examine how films like that of The Marriage of Maria Braun explicitly depict how one German woman was able to embody postwar Germany through untraditional but realistic methods. The director, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, was born in May of 1945. This was in the waning days of the Second Great War. He grew up in the poverty and economic depression that the war had left for German citizens to endure and he particularly experienced it firsthand. He officially resided with his mother in Munich, Germany after his parents received a divorce when he was five for undisclosed reasons. As an adolescent, he soon became a fan of German movie directors, such as Douglas Sirk and his famous productions of melodramas. As a result, he began to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This torsion may lead to the anus being located below the genitals, or, in the case of 360В° torsion, to the sperm duct being wrapped around the gut, despite the external organs being in their usual position. When flies mate, the male initially flies on top of the female, facing in the same direction, but then turns round to face in the opposite direction. This forces the male to lie on his back for his genitalia to remain engaged with those of the female, or the torsion of the male genitals allows the male to mate while remaining upright. This leads to flies having more reproduction abilities than most insects, and at a much quicker rate. Foster seems to skip from thing to thing without any real point or plan going on. He is first talking about how authors intentionally incorporate all the work they allude to and all the symbols they use. He then goes on to talk about how writers write for their intended audience; how they parallel something the reader is already familiar with. Next, mid–paragraph, he begins explaining the time he's spent writing these few pages, he tells the readers of his stumbling over writing this piece. To finish off the chapter he discusses lateral thinking and how it can only be acquired with time and practice. To me it seemed that this chapter was all over the place with ideas, making it very hard to understand the point the author was trying to get across. "One Story"– Introduction: How'd He Do That? More recently seen in Aamir Khan's 'Satyameva Jayate', his documentaries have galvanized international attention towards the issues of caste and untouchability in contemporary India. Spanning across eight states of the country and taking almost 4 years, 'India Untouched' is a chilling yet grasping tale of the caste hierarchy and related discrimination seen in various nooks and corners. Comprehensively looking at these issues, tracing them even in states like Kerala (the bedrock of Communism in the country), it succeeds in impressing the viewer with the gravity of the entire issue. One of the first issues Stalin talks about in the documentary, probably in an attempt to contemporize the so called 'ancient' idea of caste, is caste based reservation in the educational institutions. The Abolitionist Movement: The Underground Railroad Movement "Slavery is such an atrocious debasement of human nature, that its very extirpation, if not performed with solicitous care, may sometimes open a source of serious evils." (Benjamin Franklin, For the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, 1789). Like Franklin, many Northerners, both blacks and whites, were spreading a movement. The movement was called abolitionism and its goal was to eradicate slavery. Most of the abolitionists used protest rallies to protest and bring an end to slavery. (McDonald's, 2011) The operations of McDonald's restaurants are supported by a system that involves three main components, what Ray Kroc titled the three legged stool. The first leg is McDonald's and its core values of quality, service, cleanliness and value. The second leg is franchisees. Each encouraged to be innovative, but also required to operate within the core values established by McDonald's. The third leg being McDonald's suppliers, consistently supply products across business segments in order to recreate the McDonald's experience at every location.
