distinct eyelid surrounding them entirely, and a rigid eye brow structure is placed directly over the

The Lobed bowl with seated figure and attendants was an important art material to the caliphates
and dynasties that were present at the late 12th and early 13th century. The bowl signified artistic
achievement, exemplified by the development of painted decoration in Iraq in the 11th century. In
this paper, I will be stating some observations I made from studying the Lobed Bowl, these
observations will include: the material, surface texture, use of color, size and the composition use of

During this past Spring I found myself traveling to The Netherlands to comfort my niece after a
terrible loss. This has been my second trip to this beautiful country even though it was not a vacation
trip it ended up been an amazing experience.
I arrived to Amsterdam but my destination was a new city for me The Hague, what a surprise! My
niece and her husband were renting a condo with a stunning view of Scheveningen beach. It is a
beautiful place with a large pier and all kind of restaurants, hotels and children attractions to
entertain locals and tourist. The weather was a little chill but the sun shone over the beach making
the scene just unforgettable. Full of people relaxing and having fun. The sun is really appreciated
there, people does not want to miss a bit of it since the winter days are very short. We walked the
original pier and sat at a restaurant to see the kids play and the adults enjoying a beer or a glass of

The mere nature of the soliloquy is to enter the thoughts of a specific character It is a simple idea. It
would make sense that Shakespeare employs this literary method to reveal something about
Hamlet's own internal struggle in any given soliloquy. Hamlet is an conflicted and self–disparaging

By comparing corruption to a rotting plant, Shakespeare manages to insert a large, overarching
theme into a few sentences of a soliloquy.
While there is micro–juxtaposition in the sentences and metaphors in the soliloquy, the first
passionate soliloquy provides a striking contrast to the artificial dialogue that Hamlet must exchange
with Claudius in court. The juxtaposition of tone emphasizes how rules and customs of the royal
court that foster corruption. Shakespeare also juxtaposes spiritual things and earthly things,"O, that
this is too too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw and resolve itself into dew" (10). Hamlet is disgusted
by the earthly flesh he has to live in and wishes to be something pure and spiritual like dew. The
earthly things to hamlet, like soil and weeds, are gruesome. To Hamlet, the world is corrupt and so
are the people in it. Shakespeare juxtaposes the earthly with the divine in order to show how
Hamlet, while he wanting to be pure, is trapped on earth by some obligation, such as a "canon
'gainst self–slaughter"(10). The ban on suicide is also a symbol for Hamlet's obligation to stay in the
royal court until things are set right.

At the resolution, the writer does not tell the outcome of the short story either the princess has do
overcome her jealousy towards the lady, and let her have him or choose the death for the young man
because of her jealousy. Her jealousy will influence the outcome of the story.

Individualism In Modern Society
In modern culture, societal views on individuality are vastly effecting the new generation of people.
Individualism, emphasizes the ability for one's morals to be independent from society. Many who
express individuals tend to dismiss the status–quo, as they recognize their self worth and the
capability to realize it is acceptable to be different. Meanwhile, others who may struggle to
determine their individualism, tend to struggle with figuring out who they are and why they are
special in society. Society creates sources of criteria that enables stereotypes that reducing one's
ability to become an individual. Society also creates ideals of who you should become in society
which tends to be similar to your peers around you. Although there are people who are accepted by
society who express enormous amounts of individualism, the overall impact of society tends to
hinder one's role as an individual in the community due to requirements that society has created. We

The Dark Side Of The Snow Falls
While the snow falls behind the rusted bars, the King is laughing alone in the dungeon. His guffaws
echo back by the moist cobblestone and bounce off to nothing but the warm body of the dead on the
bloody wooden table. In contrast to the sticky red is a shiny crown and a bubbling matte bottle. As
the cold breeze turns into a gale, the King picks up the bottle with sickly sweet poison and pours

It is such a striking feature in the Ptolemaic family that almost every scholar who had written about

Las MeninasLas Meninas is a famous painting by Diego Velazquez and has had 58 renditions by
Pablo Picasso. Both painters are known for their remarkable paintings each from different eras.
Before I go on to dissect the paintings, I'll give you some key background information on the two
artists. Velazquez was born in 1599 and died on August 6th, 1660 whereas Picasso was born on
October 25th, 1881 and died on April 8th, 1973. Therefore you can tell that there will of course be
some differences in their paintings especially the meaning behind them because they were born in
separate time periods. Both were fairly old, Velazquez was 61 when he passed away and Picasso
was 92. Velazquez was 57 when he made this painting so his life was coming close to an end,
whether he knew it or not. It could have influenced his perspective on the painting. Picasso was 70
when he did his first rendition of Las Meninas so by that time he had done a lot of artwork and still
had some life left, so his experience and time could have influenced it as well. Despite the time
difference between Velazquez's painting and this version of Picasso's painting, there are some
similarities. The backgrounds are both black, maybe it was a good background color for both of

On Polonius and Class Ideology
The development of Polonius through his interactions with others serves as an aspect of
Shakespeare's Hamlet particularly suited for a Marxist analysis. While his pompous and long–
winded ramblings have served as comic fodder for generations of readers, a Marxist reading reveals
the insidious nature behind the text's contempt for royal sycophancy. Polonius, who is of a lower–
class status than the royal family, and who presumably lives during a feudal era which featured
asymmetric distributions of wealth and power privileging the royalty and their allies, most probably
regales figures of the royal family with circuitous servility to secure his survival as a member of a
subordinate class. However, the text portrays Polonius's incessantly pompous sycophantic
tendencies as reflections of his, and in extension the noble class's, inner character. Implicit in this
portrayal is a classist ideology which ascribes inherent characteristics to lower classes, using these
traits to justify the differential treatment of the classes.

the setting. I would use this book in the classroom if I were a teacher in the upper elementary school

Planning my trip to Myanmar, I told a couple of people about my itinerary:
Starting from Yangon, I wanted to work my way up north over Inle Lake and Bagan to Mandalay.
The common response to that was: "Cool but don't spend any time in Mandalay. I heard it's a
horrible place".
So I was obviously on a mission to find the beauty of Mandalay, and guess what: I did.
The only real plans I made before were visiting the U Bein Bridge and Mandalay Hill.
Since there were three of us, it was cheaper to hire a driver for the entire day than to each rent a
bike. It started pouring later on, so we were quite happy with our decision.

It was still raining when we got up there but the view was still great.
This is one Monastery where you don't have to climb up anywhere as usual but Mue could actually

kinds of mistakes my essay contains. This is a rushing mistake in which if I just read my essay
through I would have noticed these kinds of mistakes. The sentence should have been "Thereby does

The most important thing I can do to avoid these kinds of mistakes is simply to read my essay
through twice. This will help me avoid such "easy" mistakes and thereby provide me a better grade.
What grade should my essay get? Why? Of course I would like to get a 12, but in this case my essay
consist of too many language mistakes and thereby the grade 7 pil op is an overall fine grade for this

Indonesia in the ancient times, from Aceh in the west to Ambon in the east is the place where many
kingdoms existed in the past. The kingdoms were then ruled by the Dutch colonial in the 17th
century before finally merged and formed the Republic of Indonesia in 1945. Now we can only see
some traces of the kingdoms in the form of royal palaces that are spread throughout Indonesia.
However, among many of the palaces, keraton Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta palace) is the only
Indonesian's ancient palace that still maintains its activities, just like what the royal people did in the

USD for the entrance) and has become a living museum of Javanese culture preserved really well
within the beautiful and unique architectures.

through two gates: Tepas Keprajuritan (army side) and Tepas Pariwisata (tourist side). Entering the

Why should Perseus be in the Greek Hall of Fame?
Who was given gifts by gods and goddesses? Who was almost killed by his grandfather? Whose
father was the biggest man on campus? Well, that was Perseus, son of Zeus, and killer of Medusa.
Perseus was a descendant of Zeus and Danae, Acrisius, his grandfather did not like him, so he sent
him and his mother away in a chest in the ocean. Perseus should be in the Greek Hero Hall of Fame,
for multiple different reasons. When considering why he should be in the Greek Hero Hall of Fame,
Perseus must be important because if he wasn't why would there be so many books and movies, all
about him. For example, Percy Jackson book series and movies, and The Clash of the Titans.
Perseus is a Greek hero because he was born of a royal birth, had extreme feats, and died a usual
death.
To begin, Perseus was born a son of Zeus and Danae, and from the royal families of the Olympians,
from Zeus, and Libians, from Danae. Even though, he was born into a royal family, he wasn't
wanted in the royal family, since Acrisius sent him away, he really didn 't get any power to the royal

The Kings Speech : A Film Adaptation Of A True Story
The 2010 critically acclaimed film "The Kings Speech" aimed to showcase the struggles of King
George VI as he dealt with his stammer and becoming King. The tale follows the King along with
his therapist Lionel Logue, as they try and find the best way to cope with the issue before the Kings
first wartime radio broadcast. Although this movie is just a film adaptation of a true story, it is still
able to show the viewer a lot about British Culture during the 1920's, which has even carried into the
modern day. Additionally, "The Kings Speech" reveals the importance of saving face as well as
power distance within the United Kingdom. At the beginning of the movie, the relationship between
Lionel, and King George VI, (who is referred to, as Bertie throughout), is weak. This may be due to
the fact that many place special treatment on him because of his Royal namesake. When Lionel and
Bertie first met, Lionel made sure not to sit too close and waited for the prince to choose a topic of
conversation. This reveals that the Royal family plays a big role in British culture. They place a lot
of emphases as well as respect on them, and they are very much a part of their lives. The emphasis
