2. How I want others to see my
production?
I want others to see my magazine as a source of
inspiration where they can create and learn
I would also be using different marketing
strategies to let other learn more about my
magazine and what is it about
Although the genre I am using for my magazine is
sort of mainstream (R&B/ Pop), but by letting
readers actually learning things can turn a
magazine from a passive one to an active one.
4. Social Media
As Web 2.0 is commonly used by digital natives, the news of my
magazine can be easily spread
Social Media is also a type of below the line marketing as it is
free of charge, but also an effective way of advertising
When others “share” or “like” your post, the information that you
are providing for others will therefore be spread out to the
outside community
Social media is also a great platform for others to have a mind
set creating and challenging to content of the magazine
I would be creating an twitter page and also facebook page as a
source of advertisement for my magazine
By giving out previews and sneak peaks can increase hype for
the magazine
This is also a push in promoting “Gauntlett’s doing and making
culture” as it promotes and makes content for my magazine.
This is also an example of wikinomics, as my magazine is
adjusting to the power of social media.
5. Campaigning
In real life, campaigning requires a good slogan
to attract people’s attention
However, we need to consider the area in where
the campaign should be held if it is an
outside/open spaced campaign
By setting up booths and also stalls can also
attracts people’s attention to look at what is
happening as they walk pass
We can also use the help of social media to help
raise awareness of the campaign if others “share”
or “invite others” to a campaign countdown of the
release of the magazine
6. TV Advertisement
In real life, my magazine would not be a small
niche company, we would probably have money
to have money to put advertisements during
commercial
TV adverts plays an important role as a lot of our
target markets watch TV as a source of
entertainment
By putting up TV adverts for my magazine can
also create hype and anticipation for it as well
7. Bus/ train station adverts
As people take the bus or trains everyday, they
would be looking around their surroundings as
they are waiting
If we put up a advert in the train station or bus
stop, they would remember what they saw and
there would be a possibility of them buying the
magazine
8. Billboards
Billboards are also how large companies
advertise their products
I would also take this chance by putting up an
advert in the middle of the city in the busiest area
to attract attention
Even if the ones who see my advert whom are
not my target audience, by the word of mouth
they would be able to spread the news of the
magazine to my potential customers
9. Digital/Online TV
I would be creating a youtube channel which feature
extra snippets of the interview I did with the artist, or
maybe even live performances of the artist
I would also include some small comedy sketches to
engage people and to raise interest.
Online TV is practically free of charge, as it is a
platform for you to put content onto.
Ties with Anderson’s theory about digital media being
at the heart of the success of niche content as there is
NO limit to where the contents going to be distributed.
Even though I have a large publisher to back me up,
the use of these digital platforms to feature niche
contents so we would have cheap marketing
methods. This allow me to introduce world music and
culture to different audiences.
