2. My magazine has a young artist on the
front cover. The artist has a mask on his
face which makes the magazine look a
lot more serious and suits the scene
very well as most artists use masks for
fashion. The clothing he is wearing suits
the magazine as it isn’t very formal and
is the type of clothing you would expect
to see for this magazine. The cover
image suits the magazine very well as it
would appeal to people who are
interested in the scene and they would
know by the style of clothing and the
picture that it is a grime magazine. I have
represented a young grime artist who
doesn’t show his face to go along with
the whole hidden identity theme in the
scene. I have represented this through
the use of the mask. Also the pose with
the explicit hand gesture would make the
magazine have a very specific audience.
3. SOCIAL GROUPS
People in grime are made to look serious and confronting,
they normally wear dark coloured clothing and hats or
masks. They aren’t made to stand out with hair cuts etc,
instead they wear street clothes and follow a street fashion.
My model is wearing a black jacket with a man bag and a pair
of black jeans. The main eye catching art is the mask he is
wearing because people would want to know who is under
the mask. My magazine represents a street social group as
they are more into this kind of fashion and the type of pose. It
is a very specific audience but it would definitely appeal to
that certain audience.
