as it makes my cover look more professional and well written, here is
an example of some of the conventions I have followed:
Masthead :For my masthead I have used
a large clear font and located it on the top
of my cover.

used a clear font that will stand out as it
different to the masthead and the colour
white as it stands out amongst the
background.
Additional Information: For my additional information on the front cover I have
included the date the magazine was issued, the barcode and the price.

neon pink, red and blue as it represents how the music being represented is upbeat and
funky.
4. ARTICLE OF MAGAZINE
Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
For my article I have deiced to follow the rules of conventions
as it makes it look professionally done.
Here I have used the slogan: ‘Its like everywhere I go people know me now
’. I have used this slogan as it emphasis how her life has changed and
she’s gone from being an ordinary person to a well know celebrity.
Here I have used graphics and bold writing to
emphasis the pages numbers and make them stand
out.
The heading ‘My music makes me feel alive’ is written in bold, neon pink
writing so its stands out. The title makes us want to make us wan to
listen to Shannon’s music as it is telling us it makes her happy and
buzzing which is what teenage girls want their music to make them feel.
In the main photo of the artist Shannon, she is looking at the camera lense as
it makes the article feel more personal due to the fact it looks like she is
looking directly at the target audience.
5. CONTENTS OF MAGAZINE
Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
For the colour scheme I have gone for bright and vibrant colours to
represent the upbeat, funky music.
I have added a picture of the front cover along with
page numbers as the page numbers are linked
subheadings found on the front cover so if the reader is
interested in a particular subheading, they can find it
easily.
A list of what is in the magazine, is listed in a vertical
format or columns, as this is typical convention for a
magazine contents page. Furthermore I have used a
pink font to show off the magazines theme colours.
6. QUESTION 2
Q2.How does your media product represent particular social groups?
• My magazine genre is pop. My target audience is teenage girls
ranging from 13-18 years, my magazine is aimed at the girls rather
than the boys therefore the main focus is on Shannon an upcoming
female pop artists as young teenage girls aspire to be like the older
female pop artists.
• I have targeted girls by using girly colors to attract them to the
magazine such as; neon pink, yellow and red, I have also dressed the
artist Shannon in a pretty, floral dress so it catches their eye as they
want to look like her and want to know what clothes she wears and
therefore buy the magazine to find out.
• I have targeted the age group of 13-18 years by using more simplistic
language so they find it easy to understand, for example I have used
the quote :”My music makes me feel alive” . I have used this quote as
it’s a very clearly implying that she gets a buzz from her music career
and how much she loves it whilst staying simple and easy for the
target audience to understand. I have also done all the photo shoots
in different states therefore it will attract the target audience as a lot of
teenagers want to see what they look like.
