Music Video Treatment
Direction and Design by: Ellie Ryan
The general feel of the music video will be: pop, it will hopefully be a home made type of
music video that involves a lot of unfortunate thing to happen to the characters involved. The
video will be a similar type of feel as the films scary movie, as the video will show people to
attempt poor impersonations of already made video and events, and will hopefully be
considered quite humorous.
Bottom Line: It’s a video that’s takes the mick.
So here are the few rules that I want to apply in making the music video:
1) It is a narrative/conceptual design video.
2) A steady cam and/handheld camera will be used to follow the characters as they
attempt their impressions.
3) Extras and talents will be needed. A main girl talent is needed and will be supplied by
the production as this will appeal to a wider audience of the band who may not have a
high standard of them and wouldn’t generally consider watching one of their videos.
The girl should be pretty, and normal looking girl such as the actress michelle keegan.
The band and the production will invite personalities to cameos.
4) We will shoot outdoors.
5) The lighting will be bright which is quite similar to other videos that have similar
storylines. The other reason why the high key lighting will be used to make sure that
the the events the characters are trying to impetrate should be quite obvious in order
for it be considered humorious.
6) We need a quite spacious outdoor area.
7) Basically the video will be a series of 4 sequenced set-up:
a) 1 Long take using Steadicam stabilizer
b) 5 Master Shots of the location and characters used. (places + people)
c) Series of shots of the situationes (personalities and invited guests/ friends)
d) Famous events being shown.
8) The characters will be in outfits that fit into the events they are mimicking.
9) We will have a simple cut-to-cut editing, with special effects at the end of the video
