Progress Report
At the moment, we are very happy with the
way our research towards our chosen
brief is going. As our film is a teenage girls
life, we feel that we can easily relate to
her, which makes the research easier to
do as her age is the same/similar to our
ages.
We have decided on an independent
institution called Working Title because we
want to do a traditional British film but with
the crossover appeal by extending the
marketing campaign as it is 67% owned
by Universal. It is however, ‘independent
in spirit’ so we can decide what we want to
do with our narrative and representations
that we create.
We have a few ideas of the content of out
opening sequence, which involves the
protagonist’s use of social media, in this
case Facebook. We have decided on
using a voice over during the opening
scene which helps the audience
understand Arabella’s personal life and
thoughts.
We are aiming to target young teenage girls
around 15-21. We are aiming for this as we
have looked at inspirational movies and
debated who would watch them. Our
secondary audience would be males from 1521 as the boyfriends of the girls who would
choose to watch our movies.
The plot of our movie is that our character
is content but always ends up being an
embarrassment to those around her.
Within the movie our character is to
undergo a personality change that none of
her friends, family and especially the boy
she likes, doesn’t approve of the change.
Our main moral message is to say that
you should just be the way you are and
not let people change you. In the end, we
want the boy she likes to want her to be
herself so they can be together.
We are trying to work efficiently so
we meet the deadlines and so far
we feel we are a making a
progressive start. We aren't
rushing the tasks, but are working
well together as a team. So far so
good!

Progress on Teen Girl Film Research

  • 2. At the moment, we are very happy with the way our research towards our chosen brief is going. As our film is a teenage girls life, we feel that we can easily relate to her, which makes the research easier to do as her age is the same/similar to our ages.
  • 3. We have decided on an independent institution called Working Title because we want to do a traditional British film but with the crossover appeal by extending the marketing campaign as it is 67% owned by Universal. It is however, ‘independent in spirit’ so we can decide what we want to do with our narrative and representations that we create.
  • 4. We have a few ideas of the content of out opening sequence, which involves the protagonist’s use of social media, in this case Facebook. We have decided on using a voice over during the opening scene which helps the audience understand Arabella’s personal life and thoughts.
  • 5. We are aiming to target young teenage girls around 15-21. We are aiming for this as we have looked at inspirational movies and debated who would watch them. Our secondary audience would be males from 1521 as the boyfriends of the girls who would choose to watch our movies.
  • 6. The plot of our movie is that our character is content but always ends up being an embarrassment to those around her. Within the movie our character is to undergo a personality change that none of her friends, family and especially the boy she likes, doesn’t approve of the change. Our main moral message is to say that you should just be the way you are and not let people change you. In the end, we want the boy she likes to want her to be herself so they can be together.
  • 7. We are trying to work efficiently so we meet the deadlines and so far we feel we are a making a progressive start. We aren't rushing the tasks, but are working well together as a team. So far so good!
