Nick from HARDI was at the meeting doing Skills Analysis with 14 distributors, mostly owners and
presidents of companies, to help us refine the program so that it's ready to go in the fall. We haven't
heard anything from Nick yet, so we don't have an updated. We will get ahold of him within the next
couple of days to set up call with some of the committee members. We will be focusing the training
on the counter staff. The pricing will be similar to last year $250 per employee for three years of the
training track.
Joe: I like that we can have questions at the end to test the staff on what they learned. I like to see if
they retained it. I don't care how they learn it as long as they learn it. Trying to sell this to the staff is

Irrigation Association Courses
The IA also has training courses. Let's have meeting with IA in November to see if we can work
with them. They have spent $250,000 on education and no one is using it. We could meet for an
hour and have a discussion. What if we add some content to portal that the contractors have to take
it anyways, so why not use your portal instead of the IA's. We need to do a better job of marketing
that the course can provide you with your CU credits that they need each year.
Joe: I haven't had a lot of communication with the IA in years. They weren't very responsive. I was a
number to them.
James: I have worked on the education side of the IA. I think there has been progress and
excitement. I didn't know they had content.

School Community-Personal Narrative
For my writing for publication piece, I decided to write a newsletter article, for our school
newsletter. The piece was based around Scot Gardner, a guest speaker who came to our school to
run group sessions; a values for boys' session, a writing workshop, and two sessions where he spoke
about his life as a writer.
The central purpose of my piece was to inform parents about what went on during the sessions, as
this makes the school community; teachers, parents and students aware of what is happening within
the school. It was also to showcase the school in a positive light, as it demonstrated just one of the
countless opportunities that the school offers. Although I spoke about how remarkable of an
opportunity it was for Gardner to come and speak to the students at The Heights School, I was able
to do so without undermining the work of the counsellors or the teachers that currently work at the
school, which again, is able to show the school positively, as it demonstrates that students are
constantly supported, not just when guest speakers come to the school. ... Show more content on

Although the word limit for this piece was 1000 words, a piece this long would become quite
strenuous and uninteresting for parents to read it. Therefore, the piece was shortened to approximate
620 words, making it appropriate for the intended audience. In terms of "the voice", which also
demonstrates the use of specified language, of my piece, it was predominantly feminine, as it was
mostly my own opinion. However, in order to represent the wider school community, and include a
masculine voice I included quotes from only male students. I also included the opinion of one
female teacher to again, represent the wider

Argumentative Essay On Clovers
Teenagers all over the world are struggling everyday with their bodies, their faces, and their self–
confidence. A new email newsletter called Clover, written by Teen Vogue editor Casey Lewis and
fashion magazine Nylon editor Liza Darwin, is trying to end this struggle by sending out weekly e–
newsletters giving them the latest news, letting them express themselves, and giving them the
chance to learn about one another in a safe and private place (Rogers 2). This new idea that Lewis
and Darwin came up with is a way of communicating with millennials because they realized that
this generation of women weren't responding to traditional ways of advertising. These two women
are using only their own money and as of now have no means of advertising,

The City Of O ' Fallon Essay
The City of O'Fallon, Illinois' website, http://www.ofallon.org/, gives visitors information on City
business, City news, payment options, and contact information. The first thing that sticks out when
visiting the website is an aerial view of a section of O'Fallon, Illinois, in the background of the
homepage. The very top of the homepage gives visitors the option of six different tabs to explore.
The center of the page features a "Citizens Action Center", also with six different tabs to explore,
links to the City Facebook and Twitter pages, and a photo gallery. Further down the page there is a
city calendar, city news, seven tabs for visitors to explore, a list of "Quick Links", and a paragraph
entitled "Welcome to the City of O'Fallon". Through their website, O'Fallon is able to communicate
news, provide information, and give the convenience of online payments to business owners and
residents. Local residents who are unable to make City Council meetings are able to review the
meeting agendas and meeting minutes. Busy residents and business owners have the ability to pay
their water bills and various business taxes and fees online, saving them time and hassle. Job seekers
are able to view employment opportunities and can apply online. Those who would wish to contact
the city have access to a directory of all the departments run by O'Fallon. The website also is a great
tool for promoting the city to prospective residents considering if O'Fallon, Illinois is a city they

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Social Media
According to Heath (2013) "Public relations is the art of stealthy communication tactics whereby
messages penetrate awareness so that marketing teams can manipulate consumer opinions and
politicians can propagandize citizens" (p. 722). Below you will fine four public relations tools that
help public relation professionals daily. Burns (2017) defines social media as "internet based
platforms that allow user to create profiles for sharing user generated or curated digital content in

Social media really started to form in 1993 when American Online (AOL) was invented. AOL was
an online chat room that gave people the ability to talk to their friends in two–way or group
conversations (Burns, 2017, p. 9). Some examples of social media are Facebook, Instagram,
Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter, Kik, WhatsApp, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Messenger, Google (Burns, 2017).
United Airlines is just one of many companies that uses social media for their advertising. United
has Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and a LinkedIn account. Having several social media accounts is
very smart because you want everyone to see your post and not everyone has every social media
app. One of the ways United has recently used their social media is to promote help for the
hurricane victims. The company is taking supplies down to Puerto Rico in hopes of helping them get
back on their feet (United Airlines, 2017). They posted this on Facebook to let people know that
they can donate to them and help the people in Puerto Rico. Also, it makes United Airlines look
good because they are helping people in need. According to Heath (2013) "A newsletter is a type of

Christian Psychology Division 36 Essay
1. Division 36 is part of the Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality. This division of
the American Psychological Association promotes "psychological theory, research, and clinical
practice to understand the significance of religion and spirituality in people's lives and in the
discipline of psychology" (apadivision.org/division–36). This society is not specially a religious
society, but instead a society that welcomes psychologists who may or may not have religious
beliefs but who are interested in the psychology of religion and spirituality.
2. The Society for Christian Psychology is founded on "using the Bible as a canon or standard for
reflection" (christianpsych.org). This society believes that science is intended to explore God's
creation. Their belief is that "Christian psychologists need to look to the Bible and Christian
traditions as orienting guides". This society wants to promote Christian psychology based on
Christian understanding of human nature.

understanding of religion and spirituality. The main difference between these two groups is that

In the Division 36 group, Christianity is not as important as empirical research on the construct of
religion and spirituality. Division 36 publishes "experimental and correlational methods, qualitative
analyses, and critical reviews of literature" (apadivisions.org/division–36). On the other hand, the
Society for Christian Psychology believes that Christianity plays a major role in how psychologists
should approach their studies. They believe that Christians should "seek to produce distinctively
Christian theories, research programs, and soul–care practice in areas that are more world–view
dependent, where a Christian perspective would be expected to yield qualitatively different ways of
interpreting human beings"

Effective School Leaders
Effective school leaders are required to have effective communication skills. School leaders must be
able to communicate effectively to parents and community members. Having the ability to get
everyone involved in school functions is what makes a leader effective.
As an effective school leader, my job is to get parents and community members involved in school
functions. There are several ways I can achieve this. I plan t get parents and community members
involved in school functions through the use of effective forms of communication. Communication
must be clear and reach the intended audience in an appropriate manner (Fiore, 2011, pg. 163) one
of the most frequently used forms of communication but school leaders is the school newsletter.
School leaders provide important information about school news and events in newsletters. The
school newsletter is a great medium to promote great things happening within the school building.
Promoting school events in newsletters can get people to attend school functions and other events
happening in the school. Another way to get the word out to parents and community members would

Author Note
This paper was prepared for the Spring 2016 Public Safety Administration 499: Capstone, taught by
Professor Thomas Fowler.
Abstract
This capstone paper explores how Transforming Leadership principles, as prescribed by Anderson,
Gisborne, & Holliday, et al. (2006), can be applied to a typical law enforcement agency in order to
better address common issues faced by agencies that have not identified an overarching leadership
competency structure. By not adopting a set of leadership ideals agencies can find themselves not
effectively addressing all of their strategic planning goals, both internally and externally, as
Anderson, et al. (2006) suggests. This paper examines how the principles and formulas of
Transforming Leadership apply to areas within the core curriculum of the Public Safety
Administration field of study and can help assist the Suisun City Police Department mange strategic
goals; including, assisting a law enforcement agency identify their core ethics, give better service to
their community, develop strong group dynamics and human resources competencies, use strategic
planning more completely and address Homeland Security issues more easily.

Language and Literature Newsletter
Language Acquisition
Languages, the primary means of communication, have dominated human cultures for millennia. As
Col. William Mure once correctly said, "The history of every language is inseparable from that of
the people by whom it is spoken." Languages symbolize the boom and bust of every ethnic, nation
and class. For those worrying parents, we focused on nurturing children's language ability with
scientific methods. To assist you in better understanding how a language is acquired by children, we
designed this newsletter, hoping you and our center can make a united effort to promote young
children's language skills.
Language is not a pure combination of words. Instead, language was firstly defined by Ferdinand de
Saussure as a system of language and a massive usage of speech in certain ways (Lyons, 1981). A
more contemporary understanding of languages is that languages are the ways that unit us to work
collectively, entailing four dimensions, namely communication, conversation, collaboration and co–
creation (Hauser, 2002). General speaking, it is our primary means of communicating and
interacting with the society. Though linguisticians have a profound understanding of the definition
of language, several theories tries to explain how a language can be acquired.

Behaviourism is the idea that the environment has a great role to play in cultivating one's language
capacity. Adults can actively affect the learning process

India Association Plans A Newsletter
The poem "India Association Plans a Newsletter" by Sharat Chandra has a lot of meaning to it
behind retaining home culture in another country. Throughout the poem, Chandra discusses on how
the second generation children should still preserve their own culture, and not forget about the
heritage you came from. The poem itself can be understood in a way that is meaningful for all new
immigrants who want to sustain their own heritage in another land which is why today's reader
should pay attention to this poem. Personally, I feel the poem can tell today's readers about the
problems with being too Americanized. Sharat Chandra uses metaphor, imagery, and symbols in
"India Association Plans a Newsletter" to convey a sense of what relieves the younger generation
from falling back too behind on their own culture, and not completely wash it down just because
you are living in a different country.
Breezing through the poem I can spot metaphors, and those are the ones that contradict what
Chandra says in the previous lines. Chandra is an immigrant from India who has been in the U.S. for
about two decades. Today's readers can get a sense of motherhood after reading this because the poet
says, "to make India over there to become India over here" (Line 7); this can be interpreted in a such
way that just because we are in the United States it doesn't mean that we can't bring our country
here. The motherhood literally refers to as giving birth or raising a child, but in the sense of this

The assistant is to be paid $75 per week or $3,900 per year. Together the newsletter coordinator and
the part–time assistant believe they can handle up to 650 newsletter subscribers. Beyond this
number, the newsletter program will require still more staff resources. In order to help cover the cost
of the new part–time assistant, the executive director has also decided to increase the annual
subscription price of the newsletter to $20. Additionally, the variable costs of preparing, printing,
and mailing six bimonthly issues of the newsletter have risen to $4.50.
Recompute the BEP for the newsletter program. What is the new BEP? Is the new BEP a feasible
solution? Why or why not? Will any slack capacity exist? If so, how much? If not, why not?
PX = A + BX
20 X = 6,000. +3,900. + 4.50 X
20 X = 9,900. + 4.50 X
20 X − 4.50 X = 9,900 + (4.50 X − 4.50 X)

Setting Up A Newsletter For Your Site
Setting up a Newsletter for your site visitors can help to drive traffic to your site by directing your
previous site visitors to return to your website. You worked hard to build your site and you work
even harder at providing quality content and driving traffic to your site. However after all that hard
work what all too often what happens is that a visitor is referred to your site through search engine
results etc and once they have read up on the topic of interest and or found the solution to their
problem they close out and never return. Every other business works hard to get their visitors to
return and having a Newsletter can keep people returning to your site. For example a Newsletter
could provide a summary of recent postings on your website. Many webmasters have found that
offering special offers in their email newsletters have helped them to monetize their website. Our
site also provides a free newsletter which you can subscribe to by clicking subscribe in the header
menu, footer link and by clicking here. We do not however annoy our readers with pop–ups
soliciting email addresses. The idea of having a newsletter sign–up form that is not in the form of a
pop–up may seem revolutionary but who knows maybe the idea will catch on. Before we get into
referencing services we would like to acknowledge that we are not affiliated with these services and
that there are no affiliate links in this posting. If we ever did have any affiliate links we would do the

APS 10 Reflective Essay
Although I created the artifact for APS 10, a classroom newsletter, for an assignment for Literacy 1,
I understand that the importance of constantly communicating with the parents of the students in the
classroom. This is vital for student success. I understand that an effective teacher goes above the call
of duty to do what is best for his/her students. Furthermore, I understand that the school policies for
which I become employed will detail various procedures that should be use to communicate with
parents. I believe it is important to create a clear line of communication between students and the
teacher, as well as with the parents and the teacher. I understand that with the many roles an

Thanks for your positive response to our first Doberman newsletter. We like writing it, and you like

That means we're coming out with Newsletter 2. Enjoy!
The first story today comes from one the best articles we've seen in a long time.
It's called 15 of the Most Utterly Ridiculous Doberman Sleeping Positions.
In our opinion the only thing ridiculous about them is how cute they are. Take a look here and
decide for yourself.

It's outrageously cute.
Are dogs smarter than people give them credit for?
Of course the answer is yes. But one Doberman from the Land Down Under is out to prove it.
Her name is Ella, and she's giving dogs everywhere a major boost. Her owner, Kristy Bekker, is
taking her to schools to help troubled students. Here's a quote from Kristy about Ella.
"The students who are working with her are becoming engaged and focused and they're developing
clearer com
munication."
That's pretty cool. But Ella isn't only a teacher. She's a doctor as well. Jennette Bekker, Kristy's
mom, says that Ella sniffed out her cancer before she was medically diagnosed. Ella's intelligence
and kindness won over Jennette. Now she's a true–blue dog person.
"We used to be a horsey family and then we moved into the city and we became a doggie family."
Horses are great. But we love it when someone realizes the stupendousness of Dobies.
Speaking of horses, we have an awesome video for you. It's a 60 second (or at least around that) clip
of the friendship between a horse and a Dobie. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the

Marketing And Newsletter Marketing Strategies
1.Introduction:
ConAir is a airline company and has encountered the problems with its successful marketing
strategies, which gives rise to a loss of market shares. In this report, it is mainly focusing on coming
up with two forms of marketing strategies embracing online marketing and newsletter marketing to
solve the problem occurred in ConAir airline company. During the whole report, it is important to
see the comparison of online marketing and newsletter marketing, and provide some effective and
efficient methods to develop it.
The first part is literature review, it is essential to talk about what online marketing and newsletter

Therefore, there is a large amount of types of e–marketing including email marketing, web
advertisement, mobile marketing and social media marketing. It is of importance and ubiquity in
nowadays society because many business people who never sell anything online always complain
there is not sufficient time to do all things in a day(Reyhle, 2015).
It is undoubtedly that e–marketing is able to assist in the ConAir by its popularity. For instance,
email marketing, as one of types of e–marketing, is primarily taking advantage of emails to
proliferate information, ConAir is more likely to send emails with its content of discount–rate and
special flight tickets to attract people. In addition to that, so srtong is the power of social media that
it can change the destiny of some people. Amanda Palmer, as a lead singer, pianist and lyricist,
regards the Twitter as a promotion tool of conversing with her fans base online and inviting them to
gigs. She sold 200 self–made shirts under the help of her brilliant 457000 followers in Twitter. As
same as the way, ConAir also can hire a celebrity to do a advertisement online in order to
accumulate the attention.
Overall, the development of electronic technology can capitalize on the fact that people have options
to pick products to advertise their company by emails, at the meantime, the impact of celebrity in

What Is The Preparation Of Newsletters : Brexit?
a. Preparation of Newsletters: Brexit The below procedure will be followed for the preparation of
newsletters: 1. A request for a topic–based newsletter (e.g., Brexit or any other topic) will be
initiated by Otsuka. 2. The TCS team will have a kick–off meeting with the Engagement Lead for
understanding the expectation and specifications of the newsletter. 3. Based on the discussion and
objectives set for the newsletter, the RT will search for the content (e.g., Brexit information /

I Am Considering For My Newsletter Is About Reading /...
The topic that I am considering for my newsletter is about reading/literacy. It is important that
children read not only in school but at home as well. I want children and their parents to be inspired
to read more and understand how early literacy makes an impact on children's development. It is
important that the community, teachers, parents, and caregivers understand how important reading is
in a child's development. Reading books provides a lifelong relationship with the printed word while
teaching children the importance of language and literacy. Reading will help children develop
listening skills, language, stimulates their imagination, and it expands their understanding of the
world. Reading helps children by enriching their minds, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children like to read what interests them, thus making them want to read more. A favorite strategy
of mine is called the word wall. The word wall is on the wall and has all the letters of the alphabet
on it and each letter has Velcro on the back. This helps children to decode words based upon letter
patterns and their sounds. It also helps children to recognize and analyze word patterns. One more
strategy I like is called multi–sensory. This is when we provide children with a variety of modalities
when reading. These include touch (tactile), movement (kinesthetic), what we hear (auditory), and
what we see (visual). Using this strategy helps children learn how to read, spell, and write. The only
challenge I see it getting some parents to understand the importance of reading and how important it
is for children in many different areas of development. Some people think reading is just that,
reading, but it goes much deeper than that. I might have trouble stressing the importance of how
crucial reading is starting at a young age. A question I had is do I bring up in my newsletter all the
positive effects reading has in a child's development or just write a couple bullet points? A great
resource that I consider valuable in writing my newsletter is the local library. This is a fun trip for
children to take with parents. Children get the opportunity to pick out books they have an interest in
and the library has so many options to choose from. There are also many online

How Advocacy Has Become An Important Part Of Educators
Advocacy has become an important part of educators' work as they are making efforts to provide
supports for the development of their students. This advocacy can be in the form of endeavors
conducted privately, publicly, and through private–sector connections (Dever, 2006), implemented
in the classroom, school–wide, state, and national levels (Roberts & Siegle, 2012) through the use of
purpose, preparation, and persistence (as cited by Roberts & Siegle, 2012). Teachers may advocate
for changes in educational policies, use of developmentally appropriate instruction within the
curriculum, classroom situations, programs, nutrition, or any other condition/program with the best
interests of the children in mind (Dever, 2006) and their care and concern about educational issues
(Roberts & Siegle, 2012). Teacher candidates are future advocates and their passion for future
students and their careers should drive them to develop a talent for advocacy of educational policies,
individual students, their needs, as well as the development of relationships of relationships with
parents and community members in order to advocate for students, school communities, and
themselves (Massengale, Childers–McKee, & Benavides, 2014).
The selection for this advocacy project was a result of my desire to advocate for parental
involvement. As a former Parent Involvement Chairperson for the school's Parent Teacher
Association and a future teacher who recognizes the importance of parental involvement in

Benefits Of Developing Good Home School Connections
There are several benefits to developing good home–school connections. When communication
between parents and teachers are made, it has been found that students are more successful and
happier (Jensen, 2006). By building home–school connections, teacher relationships with both
students and parents improved (Stetson, Stetson, Sinclair & Nix, 2012). Teachers can observe
students outside of a school context, and parents can also view teachers from another perspective.
Furthermore, knowing students ' families and their backgrounds allow for more personalised lessons
where children benefit more (Jensen, 2006). While conducting family visits, teachers can see if the
family is going through any difficulties and then offer any assistance. Additionally, creating personal
connections with students and families, can have a positive impact on student behaviour within
school (Stetson et al, 2012). Creating home–school connections can also allow students to
understand that their parents and family are valuable resources and partners (Allen, 2010).
Home–school connections can be created by many different means, the most obvious of the these is
to conduct family visits. Some parents may be uncomfortable with someone coming into their home
(Allen, 2010). Family visits however, do not have to be conducted at the family 's home, but rather
at a variety of places, including a local restaurant or cafe, a park (so adults can talk and children can
play), parent 's workplace or a community centre

Community Living Theory Limitations Essay
Limitations so far:
Limitations to the theory used include Cheney's (1983) strategies being focused on employees in
organisations, and so the way audiences receive the newsletters could not be measured and were not
indicated by the strategies. Because of this it was difficult to assess how audiences were receiving
the newsletters by Community Living; however the information and use of strategies present in the
newsletters gave an indication of the type of feeling and level of inclusion the newsletters give off to
their readers and audiences. Another limitation of the applied theory is that there was no way of
knowing who was receiving and reading the newsletters; this is just an aspect that comes with
external communication as the audience cannot be controlled like that of internal communication.
Introduction

A Report On The Website And E Newsletter 1842
When Jones et al. (2014) distributed the 32–item questionnaire on the NRAS website and e–
newsletter 1,842 people were members of the NRAS, but once the study was complete only 247
people participated. This included 217 females and 30 males. Approximately 96% of NRAS
members are from either England or Scotland. The participants ranged in age from 40–60 years old,
disease duration, physical activity levels, and self–efficacy. Researchers found positive correlations
between the age of the participant and the duration of the disease and also a correlation between
physical activity levels and self–efficacy for exercise, as expected. Although 58% of participants
stated they had previous medical conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and
osteoarthritis, this test was carefully and professionally designed for joint issues associated with
Rheumatoid Arthritis. The final questionnaire represented a S–BX2= 774.47, df=692 (degrees of
freedom, number of values in final study), p<0.001, RMSEA=0.06, 90% CI, and SRMR–.10. The
most important value in validating our data is the low p–value indicating strong evidence against the
null–hypothesis (Rumsey, 2013). This means that the data collected shows strong evidence against
no relationship between physical activity and joints Rheumatoid Arthritis patients. From the 32–

The And Considerations Behind The Creation Of Our Group...
This essay will discuss the reasons, choices and considerations behind the creation of our group

The rationale of our Manaakitanga newsletter is for all members across the twenty–one branches of
Hospitality New Zealand, informing them about new topics, and sharing the most recent and latest
news within Hospitality NZ (New Zealand) for the employees to read. Manaakitanga is an internal
newsletter for employees, sharing the changes, achievements, the news and events that have a
broader appeal, keeping the interest alive for the readers (Kent, 2011).
First of all the content of Manaakitanga involves an interview, 'Early morning starts on a winning
streak', secondly an article on 'What is coming up in the summer months', thirdly a spotlight story on
one of Christchurch's most popular restaurants, and last of all a story on New Zealand's drinking
culture and a calendar of events highlighting important up coming courses and events for employees
to attend to.
The interview featured on page four of Manaakitanga is significant to Hospitality NZ because as we

tobacco plants by cutting them with small axes and spearing the stalks onto long sticks with pointed

Where to Find Free Images on the Web: Photo Stocks, Databases, and Newsletters A blog is a staple
of any successful online store in today 's world, as it often provides colourful imagery to help
support content. This captivates casual browsers of a website, and can help translate a blog reader

Community Engaged Experience Paper
My community–engaged experience this semester has had its ups and downs, its successes and
failures, and its moments of triumph and frustration. Over the four–week duration of this project, I
proceeded to question my ability to communicate effectively with others as well as my true value as
a group partner. While many of the complications that arose during my work with the Calvary
Chapel of Caldwell caused significant discouragement and aggravation, I am now able to look back
and identify and positive aspects my partner and I were able to achieve and reflect on the changes
that could have been applied to make our project even more successful. Community work often

Case Study : New Learning Management Systems Nick from HARDI was at the meeting doing Skills Analysis with 14 distributors, mostly owners and presidents of companies, to help us refine the program so that it's ready to go in the fall. We haven't heard anything from Nick yet, so we don't have an updated. We will get ahold of him within the next couple of days to set up call with some of the committee members. We will be focusing the training on the counter staff. The pricing will be similar to last year $250 per employee for three years of the training track. Let's have meeting with IA in November to see if we can work with them. They have spent $250,000 on education and no one is using it. We could meet for an hour and have a discussion. What if we add some content to portal that the contractors have to take it anyways, so why not use your portal instead of the IA's. We need to do a better job of marketing that the course can provide you with your CU credits that they need each year. Joe: I haven't had a lot of communication with the IA in years. They weren't very responsive. I was a number to them. James: I have worked on the education side of the IA. I think there has been progress and excitement. I didn't know they had content. • 5. School Community-Personal Narrative For my writing for publication piece, I decided to write a newsletter article, for our school newsletter. The piece was based around Scot Gardner, a guest speaker who came to our school to run group sessions; a values for boys' session, a writing workshop, and two sessions where he spoke about his life as a writer. The central purpose of my piece was to inform parents about what went on during the sessions, as this makes the school community; teachers, parents and students aware of what is happening within the school. It was also to showcase the school in a positive light, as it demonstrated just one of the countless opportunities that the school offers. Although I spoke about how remarkable of an opportunity it was for Gardner to come and speak to the students at The Heights School, I was able to do so without undermining the work of the counsellors or the teachers that currently work at the school, which again, is able to show the school positively, as it demonstrates that students are constantly supported, not just when guest speakers come to the school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the word limit for this piece was 1000 words, a piece this long would become quite strenuous and uninteresting for parents to read it. Therefore, the piece was shortened to approximate 620 words, making it appropriate for the intended audience. In terms of "the voice", which also demonstrates the use of specified language, of my piece, it was predominantly feminine, as it was mostly my own opinion. However, in order to represent the wider school community, and include a masculine voice I included quotes from only male students. I also included the opinion of one female teacher to again, represent the wider ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A new email newsletter called Clover, written by Teen Vogue editor Casey Lewis and fashion magazine Nylon editor Liza Darwin, is trying to end this struggle by sending out weekly e– newsletters giving them the latest news, letting them express themselves, and giving them the chance to learn about one another in a safe and private place (Rogers 2). Language And Literature Newsletter Language Acquisition Language and Literature Newsletter Language Acquisition Languages, the primary means of communication, have dominated human cultures for millennia. As Col. William Mure once correctly said, "The history of every language is inseparable from that of the people by whom it is spoken." Languages symbolize the boom and bust of every ethnic, nation and class. For those worrying parents, we focused on nurturing children's language ability with scientific methods. To assist you in better understanding how a language is acquired by children, we designed this newsletter, hoping you and our center can make a united effort to promote young children's language skills. Language is not a pure combination of words. Instead, language was firstly defined by Ferdinand de Saussure as a system of language and a massive usage of speech in certain ways (Lyons, 1981). A more contemporary understanding of languages is that languages are the ways that unit us to work collectively, entailing four dimensions, namely communication, conversation, collaboration and co– creation (Hauser, 2002). General speaking, it is our primary means of communicating and interacting with the society. Though linguisticians have a profound understanding of the definition of language, several theories tries to explain how a language can be acquired. • 37. India Association Plans A Newsletter The poem "India Association Plans a Newsletter" by Sharat Chandra has a lot of meaning to it behind retaining home culture in another country. Throughout the poem, Chandra discusses on how the second generation children should still preserve their own culture, and not forget about the heritage you came from. The poem itself can be understood in a way that is meaningful for all new immigrants who want to sustain their own heritage in another land which is why today's reader should pay attention to this poem. Personally, I feel the poem can tell today's readers about the problems with being too Americanized. Sharat Chandra uses metaphor, imagery, and symbols in "India Association Plans a Newsletter" to convey a sense of what relieves the younger generation from falling back too behind on their own culture, and not completely wash it down just because you are living in a different country. Breezing through the poem I can spot metaphors, and those are the ones that contradict what Chandra says in the previous lines. Chandra is an immigrant from India who has been in the U.S. for about two decades. Today's readers can get a sense of motherhood after reading this because the poet says, "to make India over there to become India over here" (Line 7); this can be interpreted in a such way that just because we are in the United States it doesn't mean that we can't bring our country here. The motherhood literally refers to as giving birth or raising a child, but in the sense of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 57. I Am Considering For My Newsletter Is About Reading /... The topic that I am considering for my newsletter is about reading/literacy. It is important that children read not only in school but at home as well. I want children and their parents to be inspired to read more and understand how early literacy makes an impact on children's development. It is important that the community, teachers, parents, and caregivers understand how important reading is in a child's development. Reading books provides a lifelong relationship with the printed word while teaching children the importance of language and literacy. Reading will help children develop listening skills, language, stimulates their imagination, and it expands their understanding of the world. Reading helps children by enriching their minds, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children like to read what interests them, thus making them want to read more. A favorite strategy of mine is called the word wall. The word wall is on the wall and has all the letters of the alphabet on it and each letter has Velcro on the back. This helps children to decode words based upon letter patterns and their sounds. It also helps children to recognize and analyze word patterns. One more strategy I like is called multi–sensory. This is when we provide children with a variety of modalities when reading. These include touch (tactile), movement (kinesthetic), what we hear (auditory), and what we see (visual). Using this strategy helps children learn how to read, spell, and write. The only challenge I see it getting some parents to understand the importance of reading and how important it is for children in many different areas of development. Some people think reading is just that, reading, but it goes much deeper than that. I might have trouble stressing the importance of how crucial reading is starting at a young age. A question I had is do I bring up in my newsletter all the positive effects reading has in a child's development or just write a couple bullet points? A great resource that I consider valuable in writing my newsletter is the local library. This is a fun trip for children to take with parents. Children get the opportunity to pick out books they have an interest in and the library has so many options to choose from. There are also many online ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. How Advocacy Has Become An Important Part Of Educators Advocacy has become an important part of educators' work as they are making efforts to provide supports for the development of their students. This advocacy can be in the form of endeavors conducted privately, publicly, and through private–sector connections (Dever, 2006), implemented in the classroom, school–wide, state, and national levels (Roberts & Siegle, 2012) through the use of purpose, preparation, and persistence (as cited by Roberts & Siegle, 2012). Teachers may advocate for changes in educational policies, use of developmentally appropriate instruction within the curriculum, classroom situations, programs, nutrition, or any other condition/program with the best interests of the children in mind (Dever, 2006) and their care and concern about educational issues (Roberts & Siegle, 2012). Teacher candidates are future advocates and their passion for future students and their careers should drive them to develop a talent for advocacy of educational policies, individual students, their needs, as well as the development of relationships of relationships with parents and community members in order to advocate for students, school communities, and themselves (Massengale, Childers–McKee, & Benavides, 2014). The selection for this advocacy project was a result of my desire to advocate for parental involvement. As a former Parent Involvement Chairperson for the school's Parent Teacher Association and a future teacher who recognizes the importance of parental involvement in ... • 63. Benefits Of Developing Good Home School Connections There are several benefits to developing good home–school connections. When communication between parents and teachers are made, it has been found that students are more successful and happier (Jensen, 2006). By building home–school connections, teacher relationships with both students and parents improved (Stetson, Stetson, Sinclair & Nix, 2012). Teachers can observe students outside of a school context, and parents can also view teachers from another perspective. Furthermore, knowing students ' families and their backgrounds allow for more personalised lessons where children benefit more (Jensen, 2006). While conducting family visits, teachers can see if the family is going through any difficulties and then offer any assistance. Additionally, creating personal connections with students and families, can have a positive impact on student behaviour within school (Stetson et al, 2012). Creating home–school connections can also allow students to understand that their parents and family are valuable resources and partners (Allen, 2010). Home–school connections can be created by many different means, the most obvious of the these is to conduct family visits. Some parents may be uncomfortable with someone coming into their home (Allen, 2010). Family visits however, do not have to be conducted at the family 's home, but rather at a variety of places, including a local restaurant or cafe, a park (so adults can talk and children can play), parent 's workplace or a community centre ... • 65. Community Living Theory Limitations Essay Limitations so far: Limitations to the theory used include Cheney's (1983) strategies being focused on employees in organisations, and so the way audiences receive the newsletters could not be measured and were not indicated by the strategies. Because of this it was difficult to assess how audiences were receiving the newsletters by Community Living; however the information and use of strategies present in the newsletters gave an indication of the type of feeling and level of inclusion the newsletters give off to their readers and audiences. Another limitation of the applied theory is that there was no way of knowing who was receiving and reading the newsletters; this is just an aspect that comes with external communication as the audience cannot be controlled like that of internal communication. Introduction In the modern–day business industry, the need for effective communication whether it is for a not– for–profit organisation or a multinational corporation has become a necessity in order to succeed. The aim of this research report is to examine how Community Living can engage and create effective identification with their audience in their communications through an in–depth analysis of strategies currently used. The objectives of this report are: Introduce recommendations for Community Living that will increase their engagement with publics and stakeholders. • 67. A Report On The Website And E Newsletter 1842 When Jones et al. (2014) distributed the 32–item questionnaire on the NRAS website and e– newsletter 1,842 people were members of the NRAS, but once the study was complete only 247 people participated. This included 217 females and 30 males. Approximately 96% of NRAS members are from either England or Scotland. The participants ranged in age from 40–60 years old, disease duration, physical activity levels, and self–efficacy. Researchers found positive correlations between the age of the participant and the duration of the disease and also a correlation between physical activity levels and self–efficacy for exercise, as expected. Although 58% of participants stated they had previous medical conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and osteoarthritis, this test was carefully and professionally designed for joint issues associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The final questionnaire represented a S–BX2= 774.47, df=692 (degrees of freedom, number of values in final study), p<0.001, RMSEA=0.06, 90% CI, and SRMR–.10. The most important value in validating our data is the low p–value indicating strong evidence against the null–hypothesis (Rumsey, 2013). This means that the data collected shows strong evidence against no relationship between physical activity and joints Rheumatoid Arthritis patients. From the 32– factor questionnaire, each question was put into the 5 subscales developed by the initial small focal group. The final results revealed that 72 % of patients ... It will involve relevant theories to support my following reflective essay, including research on document design and group dynamics. The rationale of our Manaakitanga newsletter is for all members across the twenty–one branches of Hospitality New Zealand, informing them about new topics, and sharing the most recent and latest news within Hospitality NZ (New Zealand) for the employees to read. Manaakitanga is an internal newsletter for employees, sharing the changes, achievements, the news and events that have a broader appeal, keeping the interest alive for the readers (Kent, 2011). First of all the content of Manaakitanga involves an interview, 'Early morning starts on a winning streak', secondly an article on 'What is coming up in the summer months', thirdly a spotlight story on one of Christchurch's most popular restaurants, and last of all a story on New Zealand's drinking culture and a calendar of events highlighting important up coming courses and events for employees to attend to. The interview featured on page four of Manaakitanga is significant to Hospitality NZ because as we know the Rugby World Cup is occurring at the moment and The Sale and Supply of Alcohol Amendment Act 2015 are allowing on–license and club license holders to open outside of their normal opening hours to screen live Rugby World Cup games. Dear Newsletter Dear Newsmaker Letter Rory Pritchard Professor Brad Long October 3rd 2014 Actual article: Children working on tobacco farms in the United States are exposed to nicotine, toxic pesticides, and other dangers, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. While US law prohibits the sale of tobacco products to children, children can legally work on tobacco farms in the US. The world's largest tobacco companies buy tobacco grown on US farms, but none have child labor policies that sufficiently protect children from hazardous work. The 138–page report, "Tobacco's Hidden Children: Hazardous Child Labor in US Tobacco Farming," documents conditions for children working on tobacco farms in four states where 90 percent of US tobacco ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though the long–term effects are uncertain, some research suggests that nicotine exposure during adolescence may have consequences for brain development. Several children told Human Rights Watch that they had been injured while working with sharp tools and heavy machinery. In Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia, children often hand–harvest tall tobacco plants by cutting them with small axes and spearing the stalks onto long sticks with pointed ends. The children said they often cut or puncture themselves on the hands, arms, legs, and feet. A 16–year–old boy described an accident while harvesting tobacco in Tennessee: "I cut myself with the hatchet.... I probably hit a vein or something because it wouldn't stop bleeding and I had to go to the hospital.... My foot was all covered in blood." One 17–year–old boy interviewed by Human Rights Watch lost two fingers in an accident with a mower used to trim small tobacco plants.Almost none of the children Human Rights Watch interviewed said that employers had given them health and safety training or protective gear. Instead, children typically covered themselves with black plastic garbage bags in an attempt to keep their clothes dry when they worked in fields wet with dew or rain. • 79. Looking Free Images On Photos Stocks, Databases, And... Where to Find Free Images on the Web: Photo Stocks, Databases, and Newsletters A blog is a staple of any successful online store in today 's world, as it often provides colourful imagery to help support content. This captivates casual browsers of a website, and can help translate a blog reader not only into a customer, but a follower of your brand. The question is, where or how can you obtain visuals for your blog? While some have the resources to take their own photographs or create original illustrations, a majority of images come downloaded straight from the internet. However, while the latter may seem like the most efficient option, it is crucial that the images used by any blog have been granted a license to do so. In this article we will tell you how to obtain just that in an easy, and free way! Popular Photo Sources There are a wide assortment of photo hosting platforms that can be found via search engines. Using the following suggestions, you will be able to find any type of visual you seek. Over the four–week duration of this project, I proceeded to question my ability to communicate effectively with others as well as my true value as a group partner. While many of the complications that arose during my work with the Calvary Chapel of Caldwell caused significant discouragement and aggravation, I am now able to look back and identify and positive aspects my partner and I were able to achieve and reflect on the changes that could have been applied to make our project even more successful.
