Task 9 9 key shots (kamron grant)

Film title-The Perfect Guy
In this scene the director decided to place the woman in the
centre of the frame using a medium shot. The woman is
holding a lethal shotgun and her facial expression suggest
that she is fearful. Medium shots are generally used to
allow the audience to see the background, facial expression
and body language, as the woman was place in the centre we can infer that the woman is in control
of the situation.
In this camera shot the director intended to show that the
woman is inferior to the man as she is placed in the 1/3 of
the frame. In addition to this the bold headed man looks as
if he is protecting her. Furthermore the man in the image is
wearing a black suit suggesting that he is a business man
and has wealth, this makes it harder for people recognise or
accept the fact that he is a stalker. From this we decided the
characters in our production should be dressed casually.
The shot supports the typical theme that keeps on
occurring, which is fear, as the woman is afraid to even look
at the man. The man’s facial expression projects great
anger. In addition to this his hand against the glass could
represent the man being aggressive and violent towards the
woman.
Compared to other shots this suggests that the two main
characters lust for each other as they are kissing extremely
2. passionately. In contrast to this the director chose to put the characters in darkness creating a
gloomy atmosphere, this may foreshadow that the man has hidden his true identity.
In this image we see a police officer interrogating the
stalker. The stalker has a fearsome facial expression
furthermore if you look closely a vein in his skull is
popping out suggesting that he is containing his anger.
Instead of showing remorse and admitting what he
done he enrages himself. This could represent him not
having any remorse for his victims.
In this shot it seems that the two are displaying there
affection for one another in public. This enables the
audience to create their own idea that love they have
for each other is real and may also suggest that the
women is oblivious to who the man really is.in addition
to this the lighting being red supports the theme of
passionate love.
In this scene the room seems to be foggy as the
characters faces seem to be blurry, this may foreshadow
the fact that the woman is deluded by the false image
that the man possesses. In contrast to this the glove is
white. The colour white associates with purity and
innocence; this makes the audience develop empathy
for the man.
3. In this image the most noticeable thing is the
woman’s bright red lipstick. Some may argue that women could be attracting the wrong attention as
she seems to be a sex symbol. Another observation could be that the man’s jaw is tensed suggesting
that he is extremely dangerous and barbaric. This is a close up shot meaning that the director
wanted us to see the emotion that each character possesses
The man is surrounded by dimmed lighting whilst
the woman is surrounded by blue .the connotations of the colour blue are wisdom, loyalty and
optimism. From this we can infer that the women will come to her senses and end her relationship
with the obsessed man. Furthermore another perspective of this may be that the man is not worthy
of the women as he is casually dressed and looks basic whilst she has a formal dress and looks
wealthy.
