1. History of computers and technology
To begin with, first generation Computers (1941-1956) were introduced as WW2 was about to
begin, governments looked forward to creating computers to exploit their potential strategic
importance and abuse their potential significance and to offer assistance by creating modern
computerized weapons and technology. This expanded financing for computer advancement
ventures. ENIAC was the world's first successful electronic computer which was created by the
two researchers to be specific J. P. Eckert and J. W. Mauchy. ENIAC is (Electronic Numeric
Coordinates and Calculator) was an enormous computer and it weighed 30 tones. It could store
a restricted sum of data. in the first-generation computer, the concept of vacuum tubes was
utilized. A vacuum tube was such an electronic component which had exceptionally less work
effectiveness and so it could not work appropriately and it required a large expensive cooling
system. In 1941 Konradzuse created the z3 computer in complete isolation from developments
elsewhere in Germany. Using 2,300 relays, the z3 used floating point binary arithmetic and had
a 22-bit word length. The original z3 was destroyed in a bombing raid of Berlin in 1943.However
Zuse supervised a reconstruction of the Z3 in the 1960's which is currently on display at the
Deutsches museum in Munich. In the early days the first computer programmers used binary
codes to instruct computers to do various task. However, this process was tiring so
manufacturing companies such as IBMand Data General started to sell software in bundles
with hardware. The first computer to be commercialized was the Ferranti Mark 1, built by
Ferranti and delivered to the University of Manchester in February 1951.the main improvement
of this computer compared to the previous ones was the primary storage space, secondary
storage space, a faster multiplier and additional instructions. A second machine was then later
brought by the University of Toronto. A computer is a programmable electronic device
designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high
speed, and display the results of these operations, all under the control of software.
Mainframes, desktop and laptop computers, tablets and smartphones are some of the different
types of computers. An electronic machine which helps in solving problems quickly and easily. It
solves problems according to instructions given to it by the computer user called programs or
software. It is a digital machine (that uses binary digits) used in all fields.
The history of computers begun approximately 2000 years back, at the birth of the abacus, a
wooden rack holding two even wires with globules hung on them. When these dots are moved
around, according to programming rules memorized by the user, all standard arithmetic issues
can be done. In 1882 English mathematician Charles Babbage conceives of a steam-driven
machine that can calculate and would be able to input tables of numbers into computers. The
venture was financed by the English government however it was a disappointment as it didn't
function properly. Some say although this was unsuccessful it was a breakthrough and
influenced more people to create such an advanced system.
2. In the early 70’s lots of new technology was being built. In 1973, IBM came out with the hard
disk drive. The disk utilized two 30 Mb platters. during the next decade, the hard disks were
utilized in primary data storage. The first individual computer to utilize a hard disk was the IBM
in 1983. In 1974, Gary Kildall created a Control Program for Microcomputers. It was the first
working operating systemto run on machines. CP/M became the changeless operation
framework for computer program advancement on small systems, but afterward, the individual
chose not to utilize CP/M. In 1975, MITS Altair was the first individual computer to get
consideration by a large number of people.
from the 1990's onwards, the operation and use of computers in the ended up so simple and
basic that maybe we may have taken too much for granted. Nearly everything of use in our
society requires some form of preparing or instruction. Numerous individuals say that the
forerunner to the computer was the typewriter. The typewriter unquestionably required
preparing and encounter in arrange to function it at a usable and proficient level. Children are
being taught fundamental computer abilities in the classroomin order to prepare them for the
future advancement of the computer ages. a series of breakthrough, such as integrated circuits
and smaller transistor computers caused digital computers to get largely replaced by analog
computers. The price of computers in the 1990's lowered so much that personal computers
were industrialized in many countries.
Progresses in technology have brought us online keeping money, savvy cars, smart TVs,
lightning quick computers, and the most recent buzz: virtual reality. on another hand, the
advancement of technology brought us cyber warfare, programmers that can hack, identity
theft, online stalking, and other terrible things. Also, individuals began getting sluggish and
more uninformed. the days when individuals were running to the library to research or collect
information are long gone. These days, one can discover everything on the Web. Rather than
playing football or going swimming, children would be online playing video games for long
periods of time. Bikes have been supplanted by e-bikes (electric bicycles). as time passes many
task or choirs that human had to do within the household have changed. For example, washing
dishes by hand has now been modified as there are dishwashing machines that can be easily
installed that wash dishes at high temperatures and washes them effectively. another example
is hoovers also known as a vacuum. Before the electric hoovers, wooden brooms were used to
sweep up dirt from the floor. In the upcoming it is anticipated that flying drones to deliver to
homes and businesses will be introduced and smart watches that are more in sync with the
digital world will be introduced.in 2005 eBay made acquired skype which is an application that
can run on smart phones and computers to video chat. This was a massive breakthrough and by
2006 skype announced that it had over 100million registered users.
