1. WHAT I’VE LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES
FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING
MY PRODUCT?
2. • When taking my photos I didn’t use the equipment that the media department offered I
went off on my own. I used my camrea which is a SLR which worked well catching the
image that I wanted. When taking my photos I made sure to have a simple background
e.g a white wall. This worked well making sure the model could be clearly seen and was
the main focus of the photos. Due to the fact I didn’t have any softboxes/strobes at hand
to me I made use of the natural sun light to create shadows that worked with my image. I
believe the images ive taken are good quality and because I didn’t use the equipment
provided I have learnt to take good quality pictures in difficult situations. But I still have
looked into the equipment learning about the softboxs evening out the light and making
less shadows on the face for example. Also learning to link up the strobe to the shutter on
the camera would of created a perfect image.
3. THE IMAC COMPUTER
• When making my magazine I used iMacs, this was all new to
me since I had never used iMacs before coming here. But I
learnt quickly and still learning as I go along. Looking at the
keyboard alone it is very different to a ‘normal’ computer, I
took me a while how to learn to take screen shots and also
finding the hashtag botton (#)
• The number one sever used on the apple system is x-serve
5. INDESIGN
Adobe inDesign is a
Desktop publishing
software.It is used to
creates thing like Posters,
flyers, brochures and
Magazines. I used it to
great the interview for my
magazine.
PHOTOSHOP
I used photo shop to edit
Images for the most effevtive
Way for my magazine. I had
never used photoshop before this
But I soon got the hang of using it
Cutting out images and creating
Graphics for the best magazine I
Could do.
6. WORDPRESS
• Wordpress is the site I
used to blog my
movement through out of
the making of my
magazine and my
coursework. Its an easy
website to work with and
easy to add media to
such as photos that relate
to my work. I made some
hyperlinks that lead to
important parts such as
my finished magazine,
meaning that my site is a
lot more organised and
easy to look through.
FIREFOX
Mozilla Firefox is a search
engine making it easier to
search through the
internet to find the
information that is needed.
I had to go on to Firefox to
get onto wordpress. I tried
using Safari to get onto
my blog but it wouldn’t
support it properly so after
this I looked for a new
internet server and Firefox
worked the best.
