1. . Digital SLR Camera
. Adobe Photoshop
. Adobe InDesign
. Blogger
. Facebook
. Google
2. The online social-networking site, The search-engine, Google
Facebook allowed me to communicate allowed me to search for the
with my models easily to set up time best places in my area which
and dates as to when we were going to would coincide with a classical
shoot for the magazine. music magazine. It also
allowed me to set up
permission for my chosen
areas through e-mail and
allowed me to research other
magazines in my genre.
3. For my shots I used a Digital Single
Lens Reflex (SLR) Camera, I hadn’t
had any experience with these
cameras before, so I took a few
practice shots first and spent some
time experimenting with various shot
types, zoom/focus levels etc. For my
actual shots, I mainly used “Depth Of
Field” Shots or portrait shots, as
these were the shots which suited
magazine images the best. I taught
myself how to do these things, along
with some help of YouTube tutorials
to show me the basics.
4. For editing my shots and actual creation of Use Of The Clone Stamp Tool
my magazine cover, I used Adobe Photoshop.
I’ve had some experience using Photoshop
before, so I had the basics pretty much
covered. But I still learnt by watching online
tutorials but also by just experimenting with
the software.
One thing I learnt throughout the
production phase, was the ability to
manipulate the layers which make up your
work. This was very usual for when I was
re-arranging my work to get it to a good
standard.
I also made use of the “Clone
Stamp Tool”. I used this to “freshen
up” the models faces but also to
remove any irritants from the
background.

5. Use Of “Type Tool”
For the creation of my Contents pages
and Double Page Spread, I used Adobe
InDesign. I had no experience with this
piece of software before production.
But like with Photoshop I used online
tutorials and experimented with the
software to create my product.
Throughout the production phase I
learnt the importance of text boxes
and picture boxes in Adobe
InDesign. They are used to
construct your magazine page and
tweak it until your happy with the
finished product.
I also leant about the use of
“Swatches” which are used to
add colour to text or objects.
This proved useful when
constructing my product.

Use Of “Rectangle Frame Tool”
6. Use Of Blogging/Writing Tools
To present my finished product, I uploaded
my work to my Blog. I hadn’t had any
experience with Blogger before the
Research & Planning. But I experimented
with the features that Blogger has to offer,
so I could present my work in a easy and
viewable way.
One of the things I learnt was how to
arrange and adjust images when
you’ve uploaded them to the
Blogger. This proved useful when
wanting to show something in a
certain way.
I also learnt about the various writing
tools available when blogging. This is
helpful as it makes it easier to write
longer Blogs without having to resort to
Microsoft Word or similar software.
The use of Blogger has also
helped me in the Evaluation
process as it is very easy to look
back on the earlier stages of the Use Of Image Manipulation
process if I need to take
information from it.
