3. The Digital SLR Camera
• This camera was used for the images in front
of the white screen. This enabled me to get
the clearest picture possible, as these images
would be used for the main artist (front page,
and double page spread.
• Also the camera allowed me to view the
pictures immediately so I was able to change
the layout when I was taking the photos.
4. • I didn’t use the camera to full extent, as I
didn’t use some of the functions, which could
have helped me to get a better image.
• The only functions I used
were flash (which would
light up dark areas in the
picture) and zoom.
5. • Due to the camera having a 18MP camera, it
enabled me to take close up shots of the main
artist, and zoom in which gave me a much
clearer image making the picture look better
on the front page.
6. Adobe Photoshop
• This was the main piece of technology I used when
creating my music magazine. This is a new
programme to me meaning I had to learn whilst
creating my magazine. You can see the difference
between my preliminary task and main task!
7. • I was able to manipulate images, to suit the
needs of my magazine. I could also change
font, and create effects which would make
certain features stand out. I used Photoshop
to make all of my pages, which have made my
project much better.
8. • Some restrictions on the computer stopped
me from importing text files meaning I had to
screen grab, and format this text. This
improved my Photoshop skills, and eventually
made a better product towards the end of the
process.
9. Prezi, Slideshare, SurveyMonkey
• These are types of internet online
services, which have helped me to complete
research and planning tasks, and my
evaluations. This illustrates me having Skill in
the use of digital technology or ICT.
• I was able to put information online and easily
embed these items onto my blog.
10. Scanner
• The scanner helped me to finish some
research and planning tasks. I used this to
scan in some shot plans and page layouts and
enabled me to upload images to my blog to
show my ‘creative journey.’ I was able to
highlight and evidence my research before
producing my magazine.
• Here is an example
of my scanned work.
11. PowerPoint/Word
• This technology allowed me to write my
article for the double page spread and do
PowerPoint's for my evaluation and research.
It made doing the write ups much easier and I
was able to present my ideas in more detail.
12. iPhone 5c
• I used this piece of technology to take
outside, environmental photos for my magazine.
Due to advances in technology, the iPhone 5c has
an 8MP camera and the Canon EOS 100D has an
18 MP camera.
• The lack of megapixels meant i had to take more
long shots, or medium shots to stop me from
zooming in. Also, the iPhone has a screen which
allows me to view my image before importing
them onto the computer.
