3 and a half minutes 
Person A: The talker 
talk about the ‘key idea’ of the paper(s) 
talk about the types of other literature and ideas 
that paper referenced 
talk about what you personally got from the paper, 
how it inspired you, or troubled you
Recap and discussion: 
People as Designers 
3 and a half minutes 
Person B: The listener 
listen to what the talker is saying – don’t say a thing yourself! 
pay attention to them, watch them in the eyes, don’t let your 
attention drift 
show you are listening and understanding them by physical 
gestures and movements
Recap and discussion: 
People as Designers 
3 and a half minutes 
Person C: The note taker 
write down notes on everything the talker says

once 3 and a half minutes is over, review the notes 
as a group – talker and listener to ensure person 
was heard correctly
Recap and discussion:

15 minutes 
Note-takers work in groups making a poster 
summarise the ‘key idea’ of the paper 
summarise the key literature and ideas that paper 
referenced and talks about 
talk about how it relates a bit with the other papers 
you have read …
Before next week 
ALL read the Weiser paper 
Choose between you to read ONE of the other papers each – 
ensure that every paper is read by each of you 
as before identify related papers that would be useful to read 
do the usual… 
You will be getting some comments (from me!) on last weeks 
posts – respond to them.

  • 3. Recap and discussion: People as Designers 3 and a half minutes Person A: The talker talk about the ‘key idea’ of the paper(s) talk about the types of other literature and ideas that paper referenced talk about what you personally got from the paper, how it inspired you, or troubled you
  • 4. Recap and discussion: People as Designers 3 and a half minutes Person B: The listener listen to what the talker is saying – don’t say a thing yourself! pay attention to them, watch them in the eyes, don’t let your attention drift show you are listening and understanding them by physical gestures and movements
  • 5. Recap and discussion: People as Designers 3 and a half minutes Person C: The note taker write down notes on everything the talker says - - - - - - - - - - once 3 and a half minutes is over, review the notes as a group – talker and listener to ensure person was heard correctly
  • 6. Recap and discussion: People as Designers 15 minutes Note-takers work in groups making a poster summarise the ‘key idea’ of the paper summarise the key literature and ideas that paper referenced and talks about talk about how it relates a bit with the other papers you have read …
  • 7. Before next week ALL read the Weiser paper Choose between you to read ONE of the other papers each – ensure that every paper is read by each of you as before identify related papers that would be useful to read do the usual… You will be getting some comments (from me!) on last weeks posts – respond to them.
