Denver Moore Thesis
Denver Moore was a man who lived in poverty throughout his childhood and for some of his adult
life. He was a share–cropper who thought that his only purpose in life was to be a slave to men. But
that soon changed because Denver realized he was a modern day slave who had a bigger calling in
life than just picking cotton in the brutal summer. So he hopped on a train car, and eventually made
his way to Texas to make a better life for himself. Ron Hall was a Texas native who was a wealthy
international art dealer who was accustomed to Armani and Chanel. On the other hand, his wife
Deborah, had a different calling in life other than spending money on expensive things. Deborah had
a calling to volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission to help all the

The Negative Effects Of Gentrification
Gentrification Gentrification is the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that is
conforms to middle class taste. The term is often used negatively, suggesting the displacement of
poor communities by rich outsiders. Often people who are displaced cannot find affordable housing,
and this can lead to homelessness. Gentrification is hurting Colorado families because 1.) it causes
prices increases for Denver metro rents, 2.) it displaces and breaks up families, and 3.) offers no
affordable housing options for those displaced. () Definition. They kick people out of their house
and then they raise the rent so they can't come back, they target specifically poor neighborhoods to
make more money. One of the biggest impact is that it may destroy the culture of the neighborhood
and friends and family have a chance of turning homeless. One of the main reasons is to make more
money on the neighborhood because its to poor and they need to make more money. (4, June 2017)
(Wikipedia)The term is usually used negatively.
The first piece is the term and the definition. The second piece is the impact on friends, family, and
culture. I think ____________________ because I think that gentrification is still getting worst and
worst every day, The reason being is that the rent is always increasing and hasn't stopped yet. The
impacts are that the population decreases in gentrified areas. And the ones who left are struggling to
find a new home. Some evidence is that globeville saw an increase of 67% in home values in the last
year, more people from out of the states come to denver colorado and don't mind paying the rent
here because they don't live here. Due to the new marijuana law and how it was first legal in
colorado made people from around the states move to colorado which increased the population and
which increased the rent cost. It is getting worst and worst because the rent is constantly increasing
over the years and that makes the low income people struggle and then later on can lead
homelessness, and struggle to find a new home. The population is also increasing with more people
from other states so they don't really mind paying high rents simply because they haven't been here

Mod Assistants : A Service Company
Introduction
A. Description of the business
MOD Assistants is a service company who is headquartered in downtown Denver and whose clients
are in the Denver Metro area. Currently, Denver is the only location for the business, but they are
planning on franchising and spreading to other cities in the U.S. MOD Assistants was founded in
2009 by Brenda Parker, the original owner. She established it as a job for herself to offer personal
assistant services. At the moment, MOD has four employees working for the business. There are
three assistants and one general manager aside from the owner. The business is still potentially
trying to grow and expand their staff as well as clients. The business structure is an LLC or limited
liability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Care.com is a direct competitor for personalised services (analagous to Uber where MOD would be
a smaller, but more personalised taxi service), and any temporary employment service (i.e. Kelly
Services) is a direct competitor of MOD's business services. Metro's Other Woman is another direct
competitor because they also provide personal assistants and is located in Denver.
The target market of MOD Assistants are people who just need a little assistance in their busy
lifestyle. This market segment mostly consists of businessmen/women who have a tight schedule, as
well as the average person who just needs a little help in balancing their daily life. Because of the
price of the services, it is for the upper middle class who can afford to add on the extra payment
from month to month. Additionally, it can also be for people who want to make more time to spend
with their families. The secondary target market is aimed towards single men aged 30–45, couples
with dual incomes and no kids, and families with children older than five. The single men market is
a new market segment that they are trying to pursue.
B. Description of the community (economic, geographic, demographic and socioeconomic factors)
MOD Assistants is headquartered in the Denver metro area, and serves clients in and around the
Denver Area. Denver started out as a mining town at the base of the Rocky Mountains, but matured

Egg Respectation Interview
On Friday, October 25th, I interviewed Nicole Norton, the Assistant General Manager, of
Eggspectation around 2pm. Eggspectation is a mid–Atlantic restaurant chain that provides quality,
fresh ingredients in every bite. Despite its witty name, it does not only serve eggs. Eggspectation
also serves lunch and dinner, but it is known for its breakfast. Nicole is located at the Ellicott City,
Maryland location, which is the most successful of the five locations owned by Mid–Atlantic
Eateries. She was an external hire unlike many of the current managers that work there. My
interview with Nicole reviews how her role as a manager affects the planning process, human
resource decisions, and ethical decisions as a leader. As the Assistant General Manager, Nicole
described her roles as "wearing many hats." She said her primary duties are guest relations, food
safety and sanitation, coaching, scheduling, labor control, inventory, payroll, food quality and
consistency, interviewing, hiring, and new hire orientation. I would classify Nicole as a front–line
manager with some middle–level manager qualities. She interacts directly with guests as well as
with her employees, but she also has lower–level managers that report to her. First, Nicole is in

She believes Eggspectation is innovative in terms of food quality and how all of the dishes are made
from scratch. Moreover, since the food is such high quality, it is cost competitive because the
Columbia/Ellicott City restaurant scene thrives on fresh, local grown ingredients and are okay with
paying a higher price. Nicole thinks Eggspectation can improve the most in service and speed,
because there are often service gaps when guests ask for customized menu items. These items
usually take longer to produce and it can be frustrating for both the guest and

Essay On Denver Health
On a summer afternoon in July 2009, my husband and I were attending a graduation party for my
brother Sebastien who successfully finished High School. During the egg race, Rod received a
phone call from his parents that his sister and her three children were in a car accident. At first, we
were told they were fine and that they were being taken to Denver Health to be evaluated and that
we would get a call later regarding what had happened. That, however, didn't sit well with me,
knowing that Denver Health is a trauma facility and that they were in an accident, I told Rod we
needed to go and he agreed. Walking into the hospital was almost like something out of a television

overcorrected when another driver cut her off causing the accident, had similar road rash injuries to
her upper back. Alexis, who was 12, had multiple abrasions, a fractured wrist and very deep wounds
to her shoulders that needed debridement under sedation. My in–laws and husband, who are in
construction, are not comfortable with the medical field and the terminology but I felt at home,
shaken, but ready to help, ready to translate and be their advocate. During this stressful time, I was
shuffling between rooms and keeping each member of the family up to date. I witnessed multiple
nurses and providers assisting and informing our family of what steps needed to be taken to care for

Denver Colorado Case Study
Denver Colorado had a problem where the police did not have a positive relationship with the lower
status residents in the community. To try to help bridge the gap between lower status residents and
police, the Denver Police Department created the Law Enforcement Advocate Program (LEA)
(Addison, 2011). The Denver Police Department met with the Denver Juvenile and Family Justice
Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (DJFJ TASC) to try to come up with a plan on how
to improve the community's perception of the police and have the community gain trust in the
police. The LEA program consisted of the Denver Police Department and the DJFJ TASC using off–
duty police officers to preform home visits and provide advocacy through mentoring ... Show more

Using these evaluations shows exactly how significant the impacts of the LEA program is (Addison,
2011). Another project taken on by the Denver Colorado Police Department was the Villa Park
Apartment Complex project. The goal of this project was to help enhance the Villa Park Apartment
Complex development. At one point the apartment complex was very upscale but after several years
and new management, the apartment complex became very rundown and full of drug and gang
activity, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, and gunfire (Michaud, 1995). Officers used a vacant apartment
at the front of the complex and turned it into a store. Having a police operated store in this complex
helped create trust between the residents and the police. The storefront was also a base for foot beat
officers who were trying to help improve the area (Michaud, 1995). Some of the responses to this
project were to have a good amount of Spanish speaking officers at the storefront, since this was a
mostly Spanish speaking community (Michaud, 1995). Also, officers brought in their horses and K–
9 units to attract the children in the complex, which would in turn, attract the parents. One response
that the officers could have done differently is to have possibly advertised the storefront a little
more. If the community members had know that the items in the store were free and that the officers
were just there to build a relationship with them, they may have been a little less hesitant to go into

The Pikes Peak Gold Rush and Civil and Indian Wars
Until gold was revealed in the Rocky Mountains in 1859, the native population was virtually
undisturbed by outside influence and the prairies were freely used to sustain life. When the gold was
discovered, a whole new attitude came across the land. The population exploded and that means that
there came change. With the discovery of gold, the invaders from the east would make those
changes. Just like the unearthing of this widely sought out metal a decade earlier in California by the
forty–niners, the fifty–niners forced themselves in to stake and protect their claims. With these
changes, those who had original title to the land would find themselves under new ideas, new laws,
and a new way of life. But, just because there is gold to be had, not everybody will be successful.
There will be new wealth and bitter disappointment. So, the question is who benefitted the most
from this discovery and who got the wrong end of the stick? The first set of losers were the "go
backs". No census was ever taken to count the number of people who lefts their homes to go to the
mountains, but it was estimated that the number totaled a 100,000 new immigrants by historians
with about only 50,000 making it. The work was hard and the returns were disappointing. Some
miners made it rich, but most didn't. What little bit of gold that they did find was used for food,
housing, and supplies. So after a couple of weeks, half of them either started new towns, farms,
businesses to sell much needed

The Negative Impacts Of Gentrification : Causes And Cons
Recently Denver Colorado has gone through a dramatic increase of new residents, causing many
communities to be hurt by gentrification. The definition of Gentrification according to
dictionary.com means, "the buying and renovation of houses and stores in deteriorated urban
neighborhoods by upper– or middle–income families or individuals, thus improving property values
but often displacing low–income families and small businesses." This definition alone proves that
gentrification can have a negative impact. Although many people will overlook the negative impact
because the positive can be a much more luxurious way of living. Yes, there are good things that
come out of gentrification such as an increase in school quality or drops in crime are usually
reflected in home prices. At the end of the day the negative outcomes outweigh the positive such as
displaced youth, historical landmarks demolished, high level of vacancy rate in newly built
apartments. Allowing gentrification to continue at this speed may result in the lower middle class to
disappear. Which is why we must work together to decrease gentrification so that citizens have a
chance at the best life possible.
With all these new residents moving into Denver it is causing established residents to become
displaced because they can no longer afford to live in the new upscale community that has just been
built. After living in a home all their lives children start to become displaced with their families and
begin to move

and growing population, but is it viewed to be a positive aspect of the growing community, or
negative? Gentrification is a weighted topic of discussion for Denver and will continue to be on the

Bobby Lefebre says, "Watching everything I love about my neighborhood slowly walk into a mere
memory is disheartening. It seems like every day there is a new institution, business, or mural being
cleared away to make room for the new." This quote not only helps you understand just how
upsetting gentrification is to people who were rooted in these areas, but also how the original
atmosphere is no longer apart of the neighborhood. These Chicanos, are not saying that people of
other races or backgrounds cannot live in these neighborhoods as well, they just want it to be the
same tight knit group of people who are able to help each other out and provide information to
people of the same background. The idea of a tight knit community plays an important role in
preservation and is imperative to these individual's survival. Bobby Lefebre also writes, "Let's honor
our past by ensuring Northside communities of all backgrounds are not erased. Let's work together
to preserve our diverse traditions and cultural artifacts; even if preservation means creating things
anew." Even though gentrification is happening in multiple neighborhoods, there is still ideas for
how to keep the original feel and the historical value that people who have lived in the area for a
long time would benefit from and help give peace of mind, with the changes that are happening in
their neighborhood. The ongoing stories of these people can remain in the neighborhood and will
grow with them as well as the growing communities. Jolie Diepenhorst comments at the end of
Bobby Lefebre's article and her comment is another voice for how truly upsetting gentrification is to
people and the history of the area. She says, "This is a beautifully written piece that illustrates

Five Points, a Denver Community
Ever since Colorado became a spot for mining during the 1850's, lots of different individuals came
to these mountains in search of riches and fortune. Gold, silver, and many other minerals brought
men and women from many different places. The majority of towns established in what would
become the state of Colorado, had something to do with the mining industry. Whether it is coal, gold
or silver it was the main economical drive for many of these towns. An example of a mining town
would be a place like Leadville and Black Hawk. The city of Denver was also fueled by the mining
industry. Mining brought many other businesses to Denver, including alcohol and gambling.

The practice of Jim Crow was enhanced by the presence of this organization all over the country. In
Colorado, this organization was very popular during the 1920s and . The members of this
organization basically had a strong idea of ethnocentrism and white superiority. For this reason,
many hateful acts were committed against minorities. To make matters worse, the KKK was a
colossal factor in Colorado politics. Many members were elected as mayors during the mid 1920's.
to clarify, the Klan did not begin to grow powerful until 1925. Klansmen began to acquire positions
of power in local politics, forcing minorities to desperately search for places to live. The Klan
influenced Colorado to the point where the city of Stapleton Colorado is named after Mayor Ben
Stapleton, who was a former Klan member. Governor of Colorado, Clarence Morley was also an
active member of this organization. With these levels of power, they were able to almost dictate
where certain individuals lived.
The neighborhood of Five Points was essentially forged by racism and hate. It was a place where
African Americans fled from all the negativity. It was not always this way; when the neighborhood

Trip to Colorado
My family and I had planned a trip to Denver, Colorado to visit my brother and his girlfriend. It took
months and months to finally have it all planned out, but we finally figured everything out. We left
for the cities on a Wednesday night. We stayed in a sketchy hotel in the cities by the airport and flew
out of Minneapolis around 5:30 a.m. I was so nervous, as it was my very first plane ride. The plane
was quite small. Our plane was delayed due to them having to deice the plane due to all the cold. I
suddenly started to feel sick, all my nerves had gotten to me so I reached for the puke bag and puked
everywhere! I was so embarrassed, my family and people around me were laughing so hard at me
because I had gotten myself so worked up. But once the plane started up I felt much better.
As we arrived in Colorado, we went to go get our rental car and then headed to Pikes Peak as we
waited for Jordan and Monet to get off of work. My family had really struggled to find Pikes Peak,
we plugged it into our google maps and it took us to a campground called "Pikes Peak" then it took
us to a playground that was called "Pikes Peak". We laughed and joked around, since we were
getting lost so easily on our first day there. But finally we found the actual Pikes Peak! We drove all
the way to the top! It was so scary driving to the top, the wind was so strong the higher we got.
Mom and I were freaking out because of how high up we were, it was so scary

A Brief Note On The City Of Denver
The City of Denver was a growing population in the 1980's and with this it had the perfect location

The current Stapleton Airport lacked runway separation and the taxiways tended to cause delays
during high–traffic period. Not only did Stapleton create the need for expansion but the economy's
downfall caused an immediate need for jobs. The city came into contact with multiple dilemmas that
needed to be taken into consideration. These consisted of the scale of the large project size, the

The most obvious aspect to lead to the failure would be the plan and design process. The City of
Denver brought in experts and consultants to help form the main plan. All the experts in the world
cannot help if their advice is not utilized.
The city hired the engineering and consulting firm, Breier Neidle Patrone Associates to evaluate the
practicality of an automated baggage system in 1990. Based on the complexity of the system and the
time frame for completion, the firm concluded the integrated system was unfeasible and
recommended a manual tug and cart system. Their recommendation was later discarded. ("Denver
International Airport Baggage– Handling System"2) They reviewed a similar, but much smaller,
baggage system operating in Munich. The system took two years to complete and six months of
around–the–clock testing before implementation. The City of Denver wanted to build a larger and
more complex system in less time with little time available for testing. The city contacted sixteen
firms to bid on the baggage system. Thirteen of the companies, including BAE, did not submit bids
due to the complexity and short time requirements. The city rejected the three bids they received
since none of them predicted completion by the deadline.
The city convinced BAE to expand on the system they were designing for United Airlines to the
entire Denver Airport. BAE was awarded the contract for an airport wide baggage handling system

This is crucial for CUNY's student body because CUNY students who were STEM students at their
community colleges need to be retained when they transfer to a senior school. Students transferring
from community colleges to four year universities experience structural barriers hindering them
from succeeding in their STEM discipline academics. The National Science Board mentions that
one of the primary barriers "is the lack of articulation of coursework in the two–year and four–year
sectors." Students also face other challenges such as adjusting to a new campus environment and
dealing with lack of information for crucial processes such as financial aid and registration. One
policy that exists to shorten the gap between STEM transfer of community colleges and senior
schools is curriculum articulation and alignment. The purpose of the curriculum articulation and

Risk Management At The Colorado I 70 Monorail Project, A...
Abstract This report applies proactive risk management to the construction of the Colorado I–70
Monorail project, a 155–mile transportation system from Denver, CO to Vail, CO. Risk events and
impacts for the $7.5 billion project are identified based on the five–year construction schedule.
Referencing "Proactive Risk Management" by P. G. Smith and G. M. Merritt, the standard risk
model and the five–step risk management process are described and utilized. This report identifies
and analyzes risks associated with the use of monorail technology, construction scheduling, and
unexpected costs. Through the use and demonstration of Step 1 and Step 2 of the five–step process,
risk likelihood and expected loss for each risk are developed. The results of Step 1 and Step 2 will
be utilized in a subsequent report detailing risk prioritization, action plans, and monitoring risks.
Project Overview
Objective
Risk management is an important task in ensuring the successful construction of the Colorado I–70
Monorail System. The intermediate speed monorail will run from the Front Range of Colorado to
the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The fixed guideway rail system will connect existing public
transportation systems in the Denver metropolitan area to multiple mountain communities. The
route will parallel the existing interstate I–70 and will begin in Denver, CO and will end in Vail, CO.
The objective of the monorail system is to alleviate traffic and improve access to the mountain

because we can get details about the experiences people go through. With elections coming up and
immigration being a heated topic, this would be great book to see both sides of it. With the diversity

Traffic Cameras Should be Forbidden Essay examples
With the increasing emergence of traffic cameras around the nation, there has emerged a debate
about whether the cameras are effectively functioning to keep drivers safe or whether they are just
another source of revenue for cites. Facts have proven that the purpose for the traffic cameras is
simply generating more money for the cities. The estimated amount of money that the city of
Denver will be making in 2011 from these cameras (Kaminsky)–excluding the ones recently put up–
a grand estimation total of seven million dollars... "According to the Insurance Institute for Highway
Safety more than 550 communities in the United States use red light cameras." (Urie) Research

(Maass). Accidents increasing more and more are simple to explain...
"The intersection of Alameda and Abeline Street had two more crashes the year after the cameras
were installed versus the year prior to installation, going from 37 to 39. There were 24 crashes at the
Illiff Avenue/Blackhawk Street intersection the year before cameras were installed and 2 the year
after."(Owen)
Drivers who are aware of the abusive cameras are constantly caught up trying to avoid getting an
outrageous ticket; therefore, in attempt to avoid them, drivers are unexpectedly and furiously
coming to abrupt stops. In result of the urgent and sudden stop of driver A (the first one to cross the
intersection), braking quickly doesn't give driver B neither enough time or physical room to move
out of the way, consequently resulting in a rear–end collision, sometimes involving more than just
two drivers. The driver's panic to evade the ticket ends up caught up in the misfortunes of an even
sadder circumstance. Leading reasons for this is thanks to the intentional decrease of yellow–light
length times. Studies have shown that since the installment of the cameras there has been intentional
scheming to cut the period of yellow light to catch as many victims as possible. It has been verified
that increasing yellow–lights to at least one second more would decrease the number of accidents by
over 45%. (Maass). An extra reason for which there is

The Denver Art Museum Architecture
The Denver art Museum, a very strange looking building at first sight. Well I guess the question to
ask is strange to what? Because everything is relative. So the Denver art museum architecture is
very different relative to the buildings around it. To me it looks like an explosion of shapes, Boxes
and triangles and wedge shaped objects flying from the center of creativity. As said earlier the
architecture is strange or vastly different relative to the buildings around it, but when you push your
views aside and look at the building for what it is, you see that it is art. The detention of
"architecture" is the art or practice of designing and constructing buildings, so by this, every
architect is an artist. Some are much more conventional, some are expressive, they design and
express buildings to resemble something different. So I looked a second time at the building and
saw not just a strange looking building but a giant piece of artwork, expressing 10 different building
designs in one building to house the artwork of many others. As I entered the building I saw the
artwork of the building was not just exterior. Yet, Inside, even stripped of all the art work it still, the
building itself was still art. With expressive lines and shapes, the layout of the building was
expressing new and old, fancy and plane architecture all into its own beautiful piece of artwork.
Nothing about the building was ordinary to a general standard of 21st century architecture. But
expressive art,

Increase the Funding of Colorado K-12 Public Schools
The school years are the grounding years of one's learning. Schools have a major role in
transforming children to become reliable citizens and contributing members of society. Education
paves the way for someone to have a great career. Education builds character and gives someone the
skills to succeed in life. The national average of the yearly per–student spending in Public K–12
Schools is about $12,000. Students who attend schools in states with higher per pupil spending
outperform students in states with a low per–pupil spending. The students score higher on the
National Assessment of Academic Progress (NAEP) tests. They are also better prepared for college
and are able to handle the transition to the college workload.
Students from lower spending states are beginning college with a lower level of knowledge and
having to "catch up". Some students are not able to do this and will drop out of college. Colorado
has a High School dropout rate of 23.1 %. Only 21 out of 100 students who enter college in
Colorado graduate with a certificate or degree .Colorado funding falls way below the national
average. In Colorado, the average is only $6,577. This is 46% less than the national average. This
amount is unacceptable, Coloradoans need to step up and help fund the future of our children.

College Essay On Homelessness
Homelessness and Service in Denver Colorado
By Cali Arbuckle
Hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park the beauty was overwhelming, the next day our team
was serving in downtown Denver in a Street reach meal service to people suffering from
homelessness. The beauty of the mountains was overwhelming but then we surrounded by this vast
issue of homelessness. Both of these moving experiences, along with many other moments during
the week, that made this trip personally impactful and helped me to see the world in a more vivid
light. Going on the end of the year service trip to Denver really opened my eyes to how many people
are affected by homelessness. Homelessness can have many causes and can happen to anyone. In
our societal system today once someone has reached poverty and become homeless it is very hard to
recover from this cycle of poverty. The Denver community is working to help alleviate this cycle of
poverty from their community. It was great to see that even though this is a huge problem in Denver
they are taking steps, however small in light of the current situation, to improve their community.
On our trip, we worked with DenUM Urban Ministries which is one such place trying to educate the
public and help give aid to those who are homeless. Through this program, our group had the
opportunity to learn about homelessness through hands–on activities. Showing the logistics of what
poverty looks like on a personal level in a families finances and the tough choices

I Am A Huge Denver Broncos Fan
I'll start off by saying I am a huge Denver Broncos fan! I was born in Colorado and when I was little
I always saw the Broncos logo everywhere. My mom worked at a bank and the bank would always
have Bronco celebrations. Something that made me a very big Broncos fan was when one of my
mom's co–workers knew people who worked at the stadium and she got me an autographed photo of
the mascot! I thought that was an awesome gift! Also while I was growing up I was part of a daycare
in the summer that took all of us kids on field trips. I will never forget our leaders taking us to get a

The jerseys were mustard brown and they had brown and yellow striped socks. The public as well as
the players hated the socks and once the organization had changed their logo and colors the team
had a public bonfire and burned the striped socks ("History of NFL Uniforms")! In 1960, Coach
Frank Filchock was hired as head coach. The Broncos had their first game on September 9 in their
first stadium, known as Bears Stadium ("Broncos Fan Forum"). The Broncos played the Boston
Patriots and won. They would only win 3 more games until their season went to a downfall and had
a 4–9–1 record; the worst record in the AFL ("1960–Present"). Coach Jack Faulkner was hired in
1962 and in 1963 they won only two games ("1960"). Then in 1964 they fired Jack because of a 0–4
start to the season. Mac Speedie was then hired and the Broncos still had no luck with their season
ending terribly ("1960"). In 1965 Denver almost lost the franchise. A local ownership group took
control and rebuilt the team ("Denver Broncos"). They began going door to door asking if people
would like to donate and with Floyd Little's efforts on and off the field it helped enough to secure
the organization ("Denver Broncos"). In 1966 Ray Malavasi was hired but it led to a 4–10 ending.
He was then replaced by Lou Saban the following season ("1960–Present"). The stadium was also
named Mile High Stadium and would last until the year 2000 ("1960"). On August 5,

Project Management : Pitfalls Of The 1989 Denver Airport
Pitfalls of the 1989 Denver Airport
Introduction
The 1989 Denver Airport project was necessary to replace Denver's antiquated airport with a
modern facility. This would significantly reduce passenger turnaround time. This project has been
considered a major failure when it comes to project management. One could argue that this project
failed in all aspects; from planning, to design, to implementation; the project was doomed from the
start. According to Kirk Johnson, a Chief Editor for the New York Times, "[d]ecentralization and
mobile computing technology have taken over just about everything, allowing airlines, warehouse
operators and shippers like FedEx to learn with just a few clicks the whereabouts of an item in
motion, a feature that was supposed to be a chief strength of the baggage system" (Denver Airport
Saw the Future. It Didn't Work, 2005.). With so many points failure, it is hard to focus on what
caused the project to fail, but what we know is that a project of that magnitude required much more
planning.
Initial Issues
One of the first pitfalls with the Denver Airport was the lack of projected time. This was a very
complex project that required much more time and planning than the amount allotted by the project
management team. The BAE project offer was accepted because it had a significantly shorter
deadline than the other three offers. While the project management team at BAE was convinced the
project could have been completed in their proposed timeframe,

Sudden Death In Denver, A Day To Remember
Sudden Death In Denver, A Day To Remember. January 8, 2012 dawned Cristal cold in Denver. The
snowfall from the night before had vanished, giving way to bright sunshine. The winter sun began
its slow ascension above the Rocky Mountains, as if to glimpse over the upper deck of Mile High
Stadium at the spectacle to come. It was cold. However, the chances of the Broncos proceeding to
the second round of the NFL playoffs were even colder.
Quarterback Tim Tebow had assumed the helm of a struggling Bronco team that was sporting a 1

elimination from the playoffs approaching, Denver fans were demanding that Tebow be given a

Denver was riding the momentum of a six game winning streak. Tebow and the Broncos had
become a national phenomenon. They were bucking the law of averages. Yet no one could see
beyond the horizon and the adversity that lay ahead.
Denver went on to lose their last 3 games, giving the Broncos an 8 and 8 record. It appeared that

Denver International Airport Conspiracy Theory
The Denver International Airport is located in Denver, Colorado, approximately 25 miles from
downtown Denver. This airport is one of the largest airports in the country. The Denver International
Airport is not only famous due to its land area, but also for its several conspiracy theories.
The several conspiracy theories associated with this airport have provided countless stories to
people who are interested in it. Beginning with the murals, the airport construction and the sinister

most conspiracy theories involving this airport this one has been one of the most arguable one over
the years, the murals point to the rebirth of the world, nazi and fascist symbolism. Another
controversial theory is the construction and design of the runways that create the form of a swastika.

The Development Of The Boulder Parks And Recreation...
In the beginning, the Boulder Valley was home to the Southern Arapaho tribe of Native American.
Then gold seekers searching for their fortunes arrived around 1858 and soon a settlement became a
city in 1871. The town was based on the concept of Chautauqua which was a movement that
focused on adult education and enlightenment. As the city continued to grow and prosper a desire to
preserve Boulder's nature beauty increased and the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department
(BPRD) was created in 1961. By looking at Boulder's mission statement, the structure of its

U.S. With marijuana tourism on the rise and Colorado's famed outdoor sports, the popular airport is

The evidence for this apparently comes from the discovery of alien code found within murals and
sculptures throughout the airport. Some this is just a unique form of art, but others aren't so trusting
of our evil government. For one, there are the murderous structures like the 32 foot tall, evil blue
horse that fell on its creator, killing him. Then, there are the various gargoyles lounging around
baggage claim, keeping an eye on travellers. Perhaps the most controversy lies within two murals
called "In Peace and Harmony with Nature" and "The Children of the World Dream of Peace". Alien
languages are said to exist within these murals but claims have been fiercely denied by the

  • 1. Denver Moore Thesis Denver Moore was a man who lived in poverty throughout his childhood and for some of his adult life. He was a share–cropper who thought that his only purpose in life was to be a slave to men. But that soon changed because Denver realized he was a modern day slave who had a bigger calling in life than just picking cotton in the brutal summer. So he hopped on a train car, and eventually made his way to Texas to make a better life for himself. Ron Hall was a Texas native who was a wealthy international art dealer who was accustomed to Armani and Chanel. On the other hand, his wife Deborah, had a different calling in life other than spending money on expensive things. Deborah had a calling to volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission to help all the ... • 2. The Negative Effects Of Gentrification Gentrification Gentrification is the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that is conforms to middle class taste. The term is often used negatively, suggesting the displacement of poor communities by rich outsiders. Often people who are displaced cannot find affordable housing, and this can lead to homelessness. Gentrification is hurting Colorado families because 1.) it causes prices increases for Denver metro rents, 2.) it displaces and breaks up families, and 3.) offers no affordable housing options for those displaced. () Definition. They kick people out of their house and then they raise the rent so they can't come back, they target specifically poor neighborhoods to make more money. One of the biggest impact is that it may destroy the culture of the neighborhood and friends and family have a chance of turning homeless. One of the main reasons is to make more money on the neighborhood because its to poor and they need to make more money. (4, June 2017) (Wikipedia)The term is usually used negatively. The first piece is the term and the definition. The second piece is the impact on friends, family, and culture. I think ____________________ because I think that gentrification is still getting worst and worst every day, The reason being is that the rent is always increasing and hasn't stopped yet. The impacts are that the population decreases in gentrified areas. And the ones who left are struggling to find a new home. Some evidence is that globeville saw an increase of 67% in home values in the last year, more people from out of the states come to denver colorado and don't mind paying the rent here because they don't live here. Due to the new marijuana law and how it was first legal in colorado made people from around the states move to colorado which increased the population and which increased the rent cost. It is getting worst and worst because the rent is constantly increasing over the years and that makes the low income people struggle and then later on can lead homelessness, and struggle to find a new home. The population is also increasing with more people from other states so they don't really mind paying high rents simply because they haven't been here long enough ... • 3. Mod Assistants : A Service Company Introduction A. Description of the business MOD Assistants is a service company who is headquartered in downtown Denver and whose clients are in the Denver Metro area. Currently, Denver is the only location for the business, but they are planning on franchising and spreading to other cities in the U.S. MOD Assistants was founded in 2009 by Brenda Parker, the original owner. She established it as a job for herself to offer personal assistant services. At the moment, MOD has four employees working for the business. There are three assistants and one general manager aside from the owner. The business is still potentially trying to grow and expand their staff as well as clients. The business structure is an LLC or limited liability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Care.com is a direct competitor for personalised services (analagous to Uber where MOD would be a smaller, but more personalised taxi service), and any temporary employment service (i.e. Kelly Services) is a direct competitor of MOD's business services. Metro's Other Woman is another direct competitor because they also provide personal assistants and is located in Denver. The target market of MOD Assistants are people who just need a little assistance in their busy lifestyle. This market segment mostly consists of businessmen/women who have a tight schedule, as well as the average person who just needs a little help in balancing their daily life. Because of the price of the services, it is for the upper middle class who can afford to add on the extra payment from month to month. Additionally, it can also be for people who want to make more time to spend with their families. The secondary target market is aimed towards single men aged 30–45, couples with dual incomes and no kids, and families with children older than five. The single men market is a new market segment that they are trying to pursue. B. • 4. Egg Respectation Interview On Friday, October 25th, I interviewed Nicole Norton, the Assistant General Manager, of Eggspectation around 2pm. Eggspectation is a mid–Atlantic restaurant chain that provides quality, fresh ingredients in every bite. Despite its witty name, it does not only serve eggs. Eggspectation also serves lunch and dinner, but it is known for its breakfast. Nicole is located at the Ellicott City, Maryland location, which is the most successful of the five locations owned by Mid–Atlantic Eateries. She was an external hire unlike many of the current managers that work there. My interview with Nicole reviews how her role as a manager affects the planning process, human resource decisions, and ethical decisions as a leader. As the Assistant General Manager, Nicole described her roles as "wearing many hats." She said her primary duties are guest relations, food safety and sanitation, coaching, scheduling, labor control, inventory, payroll, food quality and consistency, interviewing, hiring, and new hire orientation. I would classify Nicole as a front–line manager with some middle–level manager qualities. She interacts directly with guests as well as with her employees, but she also has lower–level managers that report to her. First, Nicole is in charge of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She believes Eggspectation is innovative in terms of food quality and how all of the dishes are made from scratch. Moreover, since the food is such high quality, it is cost competitive because the Columbia/Ellicott City restaurant scene thrives on fresh, local grown ingredients and are okay with paying a higher price. Nicole thinks Eggspectation can improve the most in service and speed, because there are often service gaps when guests ask for customized menu items. These items usually take longer to produce and it can be frustrating for both the guest and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On Denver Health On a summer afternoon in July 2009, my husband and I were attending a graduation party for my brother Sebastien who successfully finished High School. During the egg race, Rod received a phone call from his parents that his sister and her three children were in a car accident. At first, we were told they were fine and that they were being taken to Denver Health to be evaluated and that we would get a call later regarding what had happened. That, however, didn't sit well with me, knowing that Denver Health is a trauma facility and that they were in an accident, I told Rod we needed to go and he agreed. Walking into the hospital was almost like something out of a television show or movie, each girl was in her own room, each with different injuries and with a million ... • 6. Denver Colorado Case Study Denver Colorado had a problem where the police did not have a positive relationship with the lower status residents in the community. To try to help bridge the gap between lower status residents and police, the Denver Police Department created the Law Enforcement Advocate Program (LEA) (Addison, 2011). The Denver Police Department met with the Denver Juvenile and Family Justice Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (DJFJ TASC) to try to come up with a plan on how to improve the community's perception of the police and have the community gain trust in the police. Another project taken on by the Denver Colorado Police Department was the Villa Park Apartment Complex project. The goal of this project was to help enhance the Villa Park Apartment Complex development. At one point the apartment complex was very upscale but after several years and new management, the apartment complex became very rundown and full of drug and gang activity, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, and gunfire (Michaud, 1995). Officers used a vacant apartment at the front of the complex and turned it into a store. Having a police operated store in this complex helped create trust between the residents and the police. The storefront was also a base for foot beat officers who were trying to help improve the area (Michaud, 1995). Some of the responses to this project were to have a good amount of Spanish speaking officers at the storefront, since this was a mostly Spanish speaking community (Michaud, 1995). Also, officers brought in their horses and K– 9 units to attract the children in the complex, which would in turn, attract the parents. One response that the officers could have done differently is to have possibly advertised the storefront a little more. If the community members had know that the items in the store were free and that the officers were just there to build a relationship with them, they may have been a little less hesitant to go into ... • 7. The Pikes Peak Gold Rush and Civil and Indian Wars Until gold was revealed in the Rocky Mountains in 1859, the native population was virtually undisturbed by outside influence and the prairies were freely used to sustain life. When the gold was discovered, a whole new attitude came across the land. The population exploded and that means that there came change. With the discovery of gold, the invaders from the east would make those changes. Just like the unearthing of this widely sought out metal a decade earlier in California by the forty–niners, the fifty–niners forced themselves in to stake and protect their claims. With these changes, those who had original title to the land would find themselves under new ideas, new laws, and a new way of life. But, just because there is gold to be had, not everybody will be successful. There will be new wealth and bitter disappointment. So, the question is who benefitted the most from this discovery and who got the wrong end of the stick? The first set of losers were the "go backs". No census was ever taken to count the number of people who lefts their homes to go to the mountains, but it was estimated that the number totaled a 100,000 new immigrants by historians with about only 50,000 making it. The work was hard and the returns were disappointing. Some miners made it rich, but most didn't. What little bit of gold that they did find was used for food, housing, and supplies. The definition of Gentrification according to dictionary.com means, "the buying and renovation of houses and stores in deteriorated urban neighborhoods by upper– or middle–income families or individuals, thus improving property values but often displacing low–income families and small businesses." This definition alone proves that gentrification can have a negative impact. Although many people will overlook the negative impact because the positive can be a much more luxurious way of living. Yes, there are good things that come out of gentrification such as an increase in school quality or drops in crime are usually reflected in home prices. At the end of the day the negative outcomes outweigh the positive such as displaced youth, historical landmarks demolished, high level of vacancy rate in newly built apartments. Allowing gentrification to continue at this speed may result in the lower middle class to disappear. Which is why we must work together to decrease gentrification so that citizens have a chance at the best life possible. With all these new residents moving into Denver it is causing established residents to become displaced because they can no longer afford to live in the new upscale community that has just been built. Both of these moving experiences, along with many other moments during the week, that made this trip personally impactful and helped me to see the world in a more vivid light. Going on the end of the year service trip to Denver really opened my eyes to how many people are affected by homelessness. Homelessness can have many causes and can happen to anyone. In our societal system today once someone has reached poverty and become homeless it is very hard to recover from this cycle of poverty. The Denver community is working to help alleviate this cycle of poverty from their community. It was great to see that even though this is a huge problem in Denver they are taking steps, however small in light of the current situation, to improve their community. On our trip, we worked with DenUM Urban Ministries which is one such place trying to educate the public and help give aid to those who are homeless. Through this program, our group had the opportunity to learn about homelessness through hands–on activities. • 27. I Am A Huge Denver Broncos Fan I'll start off by saying I am a huge Denver Broncos fan! I was born in Colorado and when I was little I always saw the Broncos logo everywhere. My mom worked at a bank and the bank would always have Bronco celebrations. Something that made me a very big Broncos fan was when one of my mom's co–workers knew people who worked at the stadium and she got me an autographed photo of the mascot! I thought that was an awesome gift! Also while I was growing up I was part of a daycare in the summer that took all of us kids on field trips. I will never forget our leaders taking us to get a tour of everything in and out of the Broncos stadium. It was like a dream come true! The public as well as the players hated the socks and once the organization had changed their logo and colors the team had a public bonfire and burned the striped socks ("History of NFL Uniforms")! In 1960, Coach Frank Filchock was hired as head coach. The Broncos had their first game on September 9 in their first stadium, known as Bears Stadium ("Broncos Fan Forum"). The Broncos played the Boston Patriots and won. They would only win 3 more games until their season went to a downfall and had a 4–9–1 record; the worst record in the AFL ("1960–Present"). Coach Jack Faulkner was hired in 1962 and in 1963 they won only two games ("1960"). Then in 1964 they fired Jack because of a 0–4 start to the season. Mac Speedie was then hired and the Broncos still had no luck with their season ending terribly ("1960"). In 1965 Denver almost lost the franchise. A local ownership group took control and rebuilt the team ("Denver Broncos"). They began going door to door asking if people would like to donate and with Floyd Little's efforts on and off the field it helped enough to secure the organization ("Denver Broncos"). In 1966 Ray Malavasi was hired but it led to a 4–10 ending. He was then replaced by Lou Saban the following season ("1960–Present"). The stadium was also named Mile High Stadium and would last until the year 2000 ("1960"). On August 5, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Project Management : Pitfalls Of The 1989 Denver Airport Pitfalls of the 1989 Denver Airport Introduction The 1989 Denver Airport project was necessary to replace Denver's antiquated airport with a modern facility. This would significantly reduce passenger turnaround time. This project has been considered a major failure when it comes to project management. One could argue that this project failed in all aspects; from planning, to design, to implementation; the project was doomed from the start. According to Kirk Johnson, a Chief Editor for the New York Times, "[d]ecentralization and mobile computing technology have taken over just about everything, allowing airlines, warehouse operators and shippers like FedEx to learn with just a few clicks the whereabouts of an item in motion, a feature that was supposed to be a chief strength of the baggage system" (Denver Airport Saw the Future. It Didn't Work, 2005.). With so many points failure, it is hard to focus on what caused the project to fail, but what we know is that a project of that magnitude required much more planning. Initial Issues One of the first pitfalls with the Denver Airport was the lack of projected time. This was a very complex project that required much more time and planning than the amount allotted by the project management team. The BAE project offer was accepted because it had a significantly shorter deadline than the other three offers. While the project management team at BAE was convinced the project could have been completed in their proposed timeframe, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
