Building A Stronger Foundation For Teachers And Improve...
In an attempt to build a stronger foundation for teachers and improve the educational outcomes of
future students, the Australian Government has introduced a literacy and numeracy readiness test. It
is aimed at pre–graduate teachers to ensure that they have high enough literacy and numeracy skills
to successfully meet the needs of the classroom environment.
As a result of the new initiative announced by the Australian government, universities have added
extra units of literacy and numeracy to the Bachelor of Education degree. They have been designed
to further raise the competence and confidence of the new educators. The literacy and numeracy
tests are a series of multiple choice questions that have to be passed before student teachers can
participate in their final placement.
According to the Board of Studies Teaching & Educational Standards, "the test will help to ensure
that future teachers graduate with personal literacy and numeracy levels at least equivalent to those
of the top 30 per cent of the population." (Board , 2016)
The tests are not designed to find out whether new educators are advanced in Mathematics or have
the ability to write scientific documents, they have been introduced to establish whether new
educators are prepared with the needed skills set to be an example to their students. A high standard
of literacy and numeracy is very important for new educators when communicating to parents, co–
workers, and other professionals from the community. When

What Model Of Structured Reflection Essay
The WHAT Model of Structured Reflection: What? So what and now what?
Taking time to volunteer at schools, childcare facilities, non–profit organizations, and various other
local community services is not always a top priority of young people while navigating through their
college or university experiences. Service learning, however, is "a work–based learning experience
through which students learn, develop, and apply academic and vocational skills to address the real
life needs of their local communities" (Bettina Lankard Brown). It offers an atmosphere in which
students can obtain problem–solving, leadership, teamwork, and other skills necessary for their
future employment.

Over the past few months, I have been assisting a teacher of a, split, grade 1 – 2 class at Pioneer
Park Elementary School for my service learning placement. Every Wednesday morning I arrive at
the school between 8:30 and 9:00 am. My first duty includes helping the teacher hang up student`s
artwork, from the previous day, in the hallway near their classroom. The bell then rings promptly at
9:00 am and, at this time, I hold the door open for the grade 1 and 2 children to come barreling into
the school. After removing their coats, backpacks, and boots or outdoor shoes, the students settle
down and stand in a straight line before the teacher allows them to go into the classroom. Once

My Future Career As A Specialist Instructor / Teacher
The book Drive was able to make me realize when looking at my future career, I need to ask myself,
"What will make me happy for the rest of my life?" and not "What will make me rich?" Daniel Pink
the author of Drive makes a solid, science built point regarding motivation 3.0 in his book. For the
21st century, we are in need of more people that allow themselves to have autonomy, purpose and
mastery in their life. To become successful and achieve happiness in their careers. Able to look at
my future career as a specialist instructor/teacher in a different point of view. After reading the book
I was able to understand how I can apply some of these methods to achieve my goals and also be
happy in my career. Most of us look at our future and think we need to select a career that can offer
us a 6 digit year income, without understanding if that career will bring us satisfaction.
When searching for a career our society is looking for how much money it makes a year and not
considering if it's something they will appreciate for the rest of their lives. Some students are
undecided on which path to take when researching careers and then they start by looking at the pay.
They start considering a career for the money instead of the aspiration of being satisfied. Pink made
me recognize my happiness and health depends on what I will do for the rest of my life. Motivation
3.0 is about me finding autonomy, mastery, and purpose in life. I need to find what brings out my
intrinsic motivation

What Is Who I Am Essay
The question who I am or who someone is as a person is sometimes asked, but what if that someone
doesn't know yet? So then you have to find out who you are as a person. Therefore I will be
discussing my high school past, my writing past, and where I see myself in the future. These will
help show who I am as a person and how I feel about myself and my writing abilities. Here is who I
am. My history as a student could've been better because I would lose attention and I stopped caring
in my classes and in all of my school work. In my 8th grade year I would sit at my desk and either
sleep or just completely zone everything out. School for me has been either a huge waste of my time

Analysis Of A Sound Of Thunder
Has this ever happened to you? You're sitting in class and you're staring into space, and you miss
some important directions. You have to ask others around you what the teacher said, but apparently,
the teacher has said to not talk, then you get in trouble for talking. It has happened to me. In the
short story, "A Sound of Thunder", something similar to that happens to the main character, Eckels.
He does listen but doesn't follow the directions quite as well, and then he gets in trouble. He paid a
lot of money to go to the past and kill a dinosaur, and he got scared and stepped off the path that his
safari guide mentioned staying in multiple times. He paid the consequences for not following
directions. An important theme in "A Sound of Thunder" is that your mistakes can have big
consequences. This is proven when Eckels stepped off the path, when Eckels stepped the butterfly
when Travis shoots Eckels.
Eckels stepping off the path causes things in the future to differ, and his decisions had big impacts.
"But the same sign he had read earlier today on first entering. Somehow, the sign had changed..."
(Bradbury. Lines 309–310). Eckels came back from the future hoping nothing had been affected by
him stepping off the path, but the sign had changed. On the sign, the words were different than they
originally were. A small thing, like stepping a little bit off the path, had reformed English words.
Eckels had realized what he was done and he knew that this wasn't good, because if a

How Does Grant Lose His Own Destiny In A Lesson Before Dying
The way people decide and the actions they do determine how their life goes. The forces outside of
our control do all the controlling in our destiny in my opinion. Anything at any given moment,
anything could happen to you, whether it's good or bad. The point is that we don't know what's
expected, so that means we have no control of what lies ahead of our lives. In ' A Lesson Before
Dying, Ernest J. Gaines introduces a variety of characters with different ways of life. Some white
people and some African Americans. Grant the main character besides Jefferson, is a teacher who is
best used for helping out black men and what they can and can't do in the south today. Grant's
reaction to him being a teacher was negative because even himself didn't believe that he was one
because he didn't consider himself one. Him becoming a teacher of an example how Gaines shows
us how Grant can't really control his own destiny. He also thinks that he's only good for helping
other black folks. " I'm the teacher... and i teach what the white folks around here tell me to teach–
reading, writing and 'rithmetic. They never told me how to keep a black boy out of a liquor store."

move. Grant ends up staying and his plans with her are slowly becoming a fantasy. Vivian then tells
Grant that by him being a teacher he has a commitment to his community by spreading what he

Now Is The Time To Be Computer Literate
Now is the time to become computer literate. Now is the time to become familiar and comfortable
with the computer because in the future we will become virtually a paperless society and many daily
activities will be linked to the computer. Mail delivery to the home and business will be almost
entirely phased out and e–mail will replace it. Bills will come via the computer and paid the same

The way of business conducted be entirely changed. Instead of long distance business trips, business
will be conducted via interactive tele– conferences. Documents and files will be stored on
computers hard drives. Much of this is done today but in the future it will expand as we become a
paperless society. Many workers will not have to go to a place of employment. They will work from
their homes via the computer. For those who do have to drive to work it will become less stressful as
computer help to keep traffic congestion down.
Cars will have on board computers to keep them aware of road conditions, traffic backups, and
which route is best to take. On board computer will also replace maps and give directions from your
current location to where you are going. If you happen to get lost your computer will get you back to
the correct road.
The education system will also join the computer age. Every student will have access to a computer.
Text books will be on disks. Students will have access to a vast amount of reference material via the

My Educational Experience As A Future Teacher
Key Assessment As a future teacher I was very intrigued that I was able to go into the classroom and
do hands on activities with the students. I was able to do my field placement hours at an elementary
school that provided numerous opportunities for me to work with kids and gave me a chance to
broaden my horizon with some new ideas for teaching. Overall I was able to focus on motivational
skills, diversity, testing, I got the chance to work with children with learning disabilities, I was able
to see the way the teacher interacted with her students, and much more. Although it seemed like 20
hours was a lot, I enjoyed being able to be in a classroom and prepare myself as a future teacher. I
did my observation hours at Blackburn Elementary School, which is an elementary school for kids
ages K–5. The goal at Blackburn is to give each child an equal opportunity to learn and strive to be
the best they can be. Originally, I did my observation hours in a second grade classroom; however, I
was also able to observe a kindergarten inclusion classroom as well. This experience gave me a lot
of insight on the struggles of working with children who have learning disabilities and it also gave
me great insight on ways to work with students. During my field experience I was able to observe
how to work with students individually and in groups. I was able to see the difference it makes when
you work with a child one on one and with other people. While I was in the classroom I was able to

I Did Not Experiment With Drinking, Smoking, And Drugs...
I did not experiment with drinking, smoking, or drugs during my adolescent years. It was when I
first attended college and felt I was now truly on my own that I wanted to satisfy my curiosity and
the desire to belong with my peers. I wanted to fit what I thought at the time was the "social norm",
as discussed on page 486. I realized it depended on what peer group I associated with as to what was
the "acceptable norm". This was a much more socially acceptable life style than the drug scene some
of my friends in high school chose. However, I still had to make a decision of just how much I
wanted to be a participant. Now that I am 21, I do drink occasionally but I do not smoke or do drugs.
And I always try to be the responsible one, I always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, "emerging adulthood" has changed our family dynamics. Now that I am more independent
there doesn't seem to be near as much to argue about. Communication is key, my parents provide
assistance and standby guidance as needed and mutual respect. My maturing while in college has
affected my relationships with all my family members on a more adult level. It has made me closer
to my Mom, her guidance that I once ignored, fussed and openly denied, I now value. I talk to her
daily about all my concerns. In retrospect, I now see that the advice that I thought was so dumb was
full of wisdom and love. In other words, all the times I was rolling my eyes, she was right. We now
share as adults, mother to daughter and woman to woman. She asks my advice and values my
judgements as much as I do hers. I now better understand my dad's concern for financial matters and
how it affects the future wellbeing of the family. I respect his money management skills that have
allowed both my brother and I to attend college debt free and to take care of the mechanical day to
day needs. I can have a mature conversation about social and world views, my car maintenance,
basic matters of life with him and still continue to share our past love of going to the farm together.
He in turn, calls me frequently for assistance with various questions he feels I may know the answer
to.

Into The Electronic Millennium Summary
"Into the Electronic Millennium" by Sven Birkerts
Reviewed by Farooq Syed, College of DuPage
After reading Sven Birkerts' Into the Electronic Millennium, I have to say that I don't agree with his
arguments at all. For me new technology is the future of mankind and it will evolve into something
more superior and magical than newspapers. Whenever I have to do some research on a topic I
usually surf the internet instead of going to the library and finding books which is less efficient.
However, I have to say he has some really good points that I can't disagree on. I believe technology
is going to be the key to future and will help us effectively.
Whoever reads Sven Birkerts' Into the Electronic Millennium, can see how much the author hates
technology and states that people will become dumb. Birkerts states," The complexity and
distinctiveness of spoken and written expression, which are deeply bound to traditions of print
literacy, will gradually be replaced by a more telegraphic sort of plainspeak." He also assumes that
technology will make people dull and boring which I totally disagree on. ... Show more content on

My Personal Past Experience
When I think of my own personal past experiences, I think of the most significant events and most
likely think that those are the times that have shaped you as who you are today and who you are in
the future. When my grandpa had passed away there were major effects that my family and I had
faced. Difficulties like not being able to sleep at night and having lost someone who meant
something special to everyone. When I think about the smaller challenges I have faced in the past
and throughout my life, I can start to put together that even the most insignificant events that have
happened in the past could make a significant impact on the person I am in my near or far future.
Occurrences like going through broken bones, losing friends, or even a gym teacher might have a
greater force than I may have expected.
In kindergarten I decided that I was going to run to the playground to start a game that would be the
highlight of the day. I ran up the stairs and onto the bridge but, suddenly my legs had decided to give
out on me and I landed with my hands on the bridge with my thumb stuck in one of the small holes
on the bridge. I didn't think my finger was stuck so as a normal child would do I stood up really fast
and accidently ripped my thumb out of the bridge. It immediately snapped and my thumb started to
swell and turn a variety of deep blues, purples, and blacks. This turned into a horrible mother and
daughter 4–hour trip to the ER waiting in pain, trying to seek out what had

My Experience At School Teachers Essay
Optimism runs through my veins, along with a touch of anxiety. As kids we were told we could be
anything we set our minds to. So, we decided our future, not knowing the outcome. Realizing I was
growing up set a fear inside me. I asked myself how I was going to function in the "real world"
alone? Anxiety still may have a hold on me but I anticipate my future to be filled with many
opportunities. The first time I knew I wanted to be grown up was when I was five. I wanted to pick
out my own clothes and dress myself for my first day of kindergarten. My mom used to fix my hair
and my sippy cup, but I began to grow and did not need her as often. At school teachers would ask,
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Hands immediately shot up and answers such as
Doctor, teacher, and Astronaut were blurted out. Now everyone has different answers. I was so
fixated on being an Artist and having my art in a fancy museum one day. But as we grow, our minds
change. I then hit the stage of knowing who I wanted to be and planning every detail of my future. I
was set on getting my diploma, going to college, get my career started, get married and have a
couple of kids. It was my game plan to be successful in every aspect of my life. What I did not
consider was the obstacles that could possibly mess up my plan. I did not know how I overcome
getting my future started without the guidance of family, friends and teachers. Some of my family's
plans went in reverse and that scared me because

The Future Leaders In Steven Doll's Only A Teacher
"The future of the world is in my classroom today," Ivan Welton Fitzwater pens this powerful line in
his poem "Only a Teacher?" (Zbick, 2017). This is a compelling idea that encompasses my belief of
the role of the school. Students, as defined in this school, are prepared to critically analyze society
and challenge societal norms; therefore, becoming the future leaders of the world. However, a
school is impacted by other factors that can redefine this role of developing the future leaders. The
curriculum is defined as everything that falls under the umbrella of the school (J. Corabi, personal
communication, July 17, 2018). Therefore, the role of the school is defined by the curriculum of the
school. This means that the curriculum can determine the number of extracurricular activities, clubs,
advanced placement (AP) courses, and more that a school offers to the students. Furthermore, as the
curriculum defines the role of the school the students become impacted by this defining role. Steven
Gross provides a unique perspective on a student's area of learner development. Ronald Doll
presents a variety of perspectives that about how the curriculum is created and the impact it has on
the role of the school. These two educational leaders allow for further analysis on how curriculum
defines the role of the school. Steven Gross used the word agenda to describe a curriculum, which is
one part of a triangle the other two sides are instruction and assessment (J. Corabi,

Comparing Tomorrowland, Produced And Directed By Brad Bird
Introduction One idea can influence the world, but how far can that idea go if it is spread by one
person? Could an idea also present a reality better than the one humanity is accustomed to today?
The 2015 film Tomorrowland attempts to reveal the answers to these questions in the real world as
well as in an alternate dimension where humanity has a different outlook on the future.
Tomorrowland, produced and directed by Brad Bird, follows Casey and Frank. Casey is a teenager
who seems to be one of the only people in the world with the desire to find positive ways to affect
the future. Everyone around her, from her father to her teachers, are complacent towards anything
bad that can affect them. She is approached by the robot Athena, who introduces her to an alternate
version of reality called Tomorrowland, where mankind creates technologies surpassing those of the
real world by centuries. Athena explains that Casey's world is in trouble and that they must go to
Tomorrowland to save it. In order to get there, Casey and Athena need help from Frank, a
pessimistic recluse who used to live in Tomorrowland. He shows Casey one of his inventions in his
home that predicts the world will end with 100% certainty. However, when Casey refuses to accept
what Frank's machine says, the 100% chance briefly drops. This convinces Frank that Casey might
be able to save the planet from catastrophe, and takes her and Athena to Tomorrowland. There,
Casey finds out that everyone in Tomorrowland,

Relationship Between Psychology And The Practice Of...
The Germany scholar named Lay (1903) studied the relationship between psychology and the
practice of teaching subjects in Language Arts and Literacy and math (Lay, 1903. P.1).
Based upon Lay (1903) she believed that educational subjects could benefit from an experimental
approach that explored the relative sciences in psychology, biology, and anthropology. However, the
economical, logical, ethical, and religious experiences concerning the student and his community
develop profound conclusions about the experiments (Lay, 1936, p. 139).
Theorists like Lay (1903) will be constructing more research in the future for experiments as they
search for answers to studies about the problems in our society. Whether individuals or teams,
technology experts are needed in businesses and schools to maintain the access to computers.
However, many technologists are being laid–off because of the cost. Technology is very costly but
businesses need their skills and services.
Baum (2005) stated that "The challenges of educational equity and diversity created and broadened
access to emerging technologies have implemented technology in classrooms from grade k – 12 are
very important for students and teachers (para.1). An essential part of educating students is
supporting their comprehension about the materials. Teachers have developed many types of

Professional Goals Research Paper
My Professional Goals
As I think about my future goals, I find the thought to be difficult. At this moment, I am living out a
goal of pursuing a Doctoral degree that focuses on two areas that I absolutely love, Education and
Technology. To think of a goal beyond completing my doctoral journey, adds to the difficulty I face.
However, for the purposes of preparing this professional growth plan, it is necessary to think beyond
the moment and identify a goal. When creating a professional growth plan, I believe it is important
to identify; where you want to be, why you want to be there, how you plan to will get there and
when plan to get there. A core component of a growth plan is an establish goal. (Scivicque, 2011)

Teacher As A Future Teacher
I want to teach because I believe that education is extremely important. Education is the foundation
of success in life, and teachers can make a lasting effect on each student's lives. I love to help others
explore and learn new things, and teaching is a way for me to accomplish that. As a teacher, I will
strive to promote positive learning, spark learner enthusiasm, and provide a strong foundation to my
student for lifelong learning. As a future teacher, one of my many goals will be to develop a
student–centered environment where students learn through social interaction and collaboration with
the support of technology. I want to incorporate a number of teaching methods and approaches to
accommodate a wide variety of learning styles and to meet the goals and objectives of the course or
program being taught. Specifically, for English Language Learners in the general education
classroom, I will provide more visuals and models, incorporate more group work, and incorporate
the student's home language and culture into the classroom. Students come from many racial,
cultural, ethnical, and social–economic status backgrounds. Because of this, I will use culturally
responsive teaching which is instruction that acknowledges and accommodates cultural diversity. I
will build on students' backgrounds to help them transition into my classroom. I believe that
teachers should respect, celebrate, and recognize the normality of diversity in all areas of human
life. I believe that

How Technology Has Changed Our Visual Learning
Introduction: Look around this classroom, over there lies the projector we use for of our visual
learning. Over there lies the teacher 's computer which she uses to make handouts and other learning
tools. Over there lies the speaker in, which we have for auditory learning. The future is bright and it
's going to be brighter than ever before. Look at all the opportunities we will get in the future
through technology, education and jobs. Today I 'm here to convince to you that the future is bright.
Technology:
Look at what has already been done through technology.
We have come up with some of the most amazing ideas ever.
Technology has helped us to accomplish simple tasks, and bring us to the world we live in now.
Simple pieces of technology such as heaters and microwaves may seem like nothing. But can you
imagine waking up in the morning to a –5 degree house, or not being able to warm up your food. It
would be painful right?
Look around you. Probably only a few centimeters away is your beloved phone, computer, and
tablet. Look around this classroom, projectors, heaters, speakers, laptops, phones and many more.
The internet is also a form of technology that has revolutionised the way of life. So many people
will argue about how the internet is ruining our lives with Bad role models, over obsessions and
many others. ~But everything aside; the internet is an amazing place that has improved our way of
life. Technology is transforming our lives.
I don 't know about you

David Mathews Research Paper
I think that what David Mathews means when he says that he is in pursuit of finding ways to have a
stronger hand in shaping our future is that our future isn't being planned completely by ourselves.
With the rise in health care and food cost and living, schools aren't even hiring the best teachers to
teach students.David Mathews believes that one way to have a stronger hand in shaping our futures
is to join organizations in our community. He also means that he has to search for the many ways in
controlling what's in our future. Suspicions of big institutions and organizations they are starting
where they are with what they have. I believe that it is indeed a good to have a stronger hand in
shaping our future in the united states of America.

Reflection Paper On Dance
After choosing dance as my first topic, I had to then narrow down to a more specific topic. I came to
three different topics: the health benefits of dancing, the evolution of dance throughout history, and
life skills obtained through dance education. I decided to select the last topic because I thought that
it would be the easiest one that I could have a personal connection with. With my research, I soon
came to realize that I would have to look at information that did not directly relate to dance, and that
I would have to make the connections myself. My goal was to find enough verified information that
could back up claims that my argument was based on.
Throughout my years as a student, I have been taught skills that helped me complete this project to
the best of my ability. Since elementary school, I have been taught standard english conventions that
helped me write my research paper, speech, cover letter, resume, letter of intent, as well as this
reflection paper. Once I entered high school, my teachers have helped me refine these skills by
helping me improve my vocabulary and teaching me different ways of sharing my ideas. This
project has also taught me new skills that I can use in the future. Skills such as citing information
sources, finding research in a variety of forms, and writing a professional cover letter that can go
with my résumé.
I used almost all the skills that I was taught before to complete this project. I would say that one of
the biggest skills I

Brinkman's Transition
"No matter your past, how you are perceived by friends, foe, or family, YOU have the opportunity to
make your life as you desire. If you live in a tough and unfair life right now, change you mindset.
Don't think that is all life is or all you are. You can be whatever you want. If your life is as good as it
gets, challenge your mindset. Learn to do something MORE, something to grow that person inside."
– Chad Brinkman. For this week's paper I interview Mr.Brinkman about his transition to principal
and his plans for the future.
The first question I asked Brinkman was, How was the transition between history teacher and
principal. He responded with, "The transition from teacher to principal was a gradual process that
took place over a 3 year period. Three years ago I felt it was time to personally and professionally
grow. A year later, I began a Master's in Educational Leadership and a Principal Certification. So,
when the the opportunity came to apply for this position, I was mentally ... Show more content on

Shockling Brinkman admitted staying above the line was not entirely his idea. "'Staying Above the
Line' is a behavior accountability tool that I read about in a book and believed it could make an
impact. A department of Marathon Oil adopted the ATL ideals 3 years ago and I met with them to
discuss how they implemented it. I then adapted the ATL ideas to fit my vision and our needs at
DJHS. Last year, I asked each teacher to give 3 words that describe an excellent student at Jefferson
and 3 words that would be concerned behaviors of our Jefferson students. I used the words chosen
most by the teachers to create our current ATL policy. The ATL policy will grow and change each
year." I will admit coming into my senior year and first learning about the new policy, I thought it
was a joke. But now, I see it has made a significant difference in how the school is ran,how things

Tutorial Time Essay
There are moments when a student stays up extremely late working on their homework, a project, or
studying for a test. They are consistently wishing for additional time to complete their tasks and
assignments. Schools, over the course of the years, have developed a schedule and has added an
extra period called Tutorial. Tutorial is usually used in a block schedule. Instead of having six
periods, students are now having seven altogether, but depending on a school policy the conditions
of Tutorial may vary. The time for each class is deducted by a few minutes and this is used to
construct a tutorial period. Tutorial is a period where students get to spend their time working on
their homework. It is a period which lasts about a total of one hour. Tutorial allows students the
ability to go to a class of their choice, especially a class they need help in. Teachers are also allowed
send or request students to a class to makeup a test or missing work. During a tutorial period,
students are allowed to work on their homework, study for an upcoming test, or ask a teacher for
help. Tutorial is not a period where students get to only work on their homework, but they also get
to communicate with their teachers, classmates, and friend for help with school work. Students in
tutorial also talk with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Future Of Education As A Future Teacher
As a future educator learning from others is the most important thing listening to a teacher's battles
in the classroom from a teacher that has only taught a year to one that has been teaching for twenty
year. The fact that we get to ask questions is ridiculously important for our futures in the classroom.
Although, the teacher that was interviewed was a new teacher which we can relate to, the fact that
he had to manage the fact that he is now in control of a class instead of just observing. He had a lot
of insight, even though the school he teaches in is small. He answered every question to the best of
his abilities. His insight was great for me because I want to teach in a small school that does not
serve many students. This interview helped by the fact that he is not that far from our age and we
will be in his shoes sooner rather than later, he was opening our eyes to the real world of teaching
and the fact that you may have your heart set on one thing, but it will not happen the way you want
it. One question that I like was how he asked was how he handles family involvement when it
comes to his students? He was open and honest with what he said he was new last year and did not
really use the parents when it comes to the student. Also, he mentioned that he is a lot more lenient
with students than his co–workers. The fact that he will give a lot of warnings to a student before
approaching the parents about behavior or work. Furthermore, he also mentioned the fact that

The Problem Of A Future Elementary Teacher, Education,...
Chaos is the first word that comes to mind when I picture a world without education. Despite the
minority who truly do love what they do, educators all over the United States are falling out of love
with teaching for too many reasons. However, it is refreshing to know that I am not alone with the
want, the need, to make a different in kids' lives. As a future elementary teacher, my goals are to
create better educated future generations and create an environment within my classroom that
encompasses a sense of comfort for every child with a challenging aspect to push students out of
that comfort zone, academically as well as personally, so they can get as much as they can out of the
short time I will be their teacher. I believe that are a multitude of purposes to schooling, the obvious
one being to academically teach and challenge students in the four "main" subjects: mathematics,
science, language arts and social studies. I think that these subject areas should be studied, which
they are, because it is important to learn the basics to function in society. You will need to know
simple math like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will utilize what you learn
from biology and chemistry to make sense of the world. As an American, it is probably good for you
to know whom the past presidents of our country were and to learn about the horrible acts
committed by leaders like Hitler and Stalin. Of course, you will always need to know how to write,
read and speak

My Future Career Of Becoming An Elementary Teacher Essay
A Before this course, when I thought about diversity I would think about race almost exclusively.
Through our class discussions and book assignments I have learned that diversity covers many more
topics. This will help me greatly in my ideal future career of becoming an elementary teacher.
Reading is such an important skill for children. Books teach so many different things. Like in one of
the TED talks we watched, the speaker talked about only having books that portrayed white
children. She felt like she couldn't connect to the books. She also found that people in America
believed that she lived with extremely low income when she lived in Africa. This may not have to
do completely with books but there are not many books that show stories like her own.
One of the articles that I read for a reading assignment, Why Diversity in Children's Literature
Really Matters by Jacob Hood, talked about a boy who was not white. He really loved adventure
books but felt like people of his color couldn't be adventurous because all the people in the
adventure books were white. Children have so many questions and are creating their future selves. If
these kids are accustomed to many different diversities, not only race but also gender, family
structure, socioeconomic status, religion, age, sexual orientation, mental illness, and many more
topics, are less likely to "other" and stereotype people. Books that show diversity in many different
ways help children feel like they can fit in and

Early Childhood Education And Education
First, taking ED580 and spending time with the children has made it clear to me that early childhood
(bilingual) education is what I'd love to pursue as a future career. Actually, I have long been
interested in early childhood education and was intended to choose that as my major for graduate
school; however, my parents urged me to choose a "broader" major such as TESOL so that I can
have more career choices after graduation. Although I was not willing to, I finally compromised not
to my parents, but to the reality. In China, people have the deeply–rooted misunderstanding that
preschool teachers are just babysitters; as a result, the requirement of educational level for preschool
teachers is rather low, namely vocational high school. It may sound crazy if someone with a mater
degree wants to be a preschool teacher. Thus, preschool teachers together with early childhood
education are largely undervalued in China. I always know that it is silly to undermine the
importance of early childhood education, but I do not have powerful evidence to back me up to
change people's thought. Now, I think I can confidently explain to others that because human
development is accumulative and progressive, early inventions on the children's dysfunctions may
have the power to change their life trajectories and their fates. Keeping in mind how powerful early
childhood education is and how influential preschool educators can be, I become clearer about on
what I'd love to devote my time and effort

Future Teacher Learning Community
There is no uniformed look when trying to pick out an American in a group of people. America is a
diverse place with diverse people and the English language is our universal connector. So why is it
that when people who don't "look American" speak English no one cares to listen? Being in the
Korean Culture Club (KCC) and the Future Teacher Learning Community (FTLC) has showed me
that no matter what appearance we may show our true communication is in how we speak through
education, participation, expression, and performance.
The KCC and the FTLC are two communities that in that both involve learning and teaching. When
I first started the KCC they told us that the first step to connecting with the people is to learn they
speak. Just like starting any new language getting to know the alphabet is the first step we took. The
KCC has bi–weekly teaching sessions over the Korean language and sentence structure. The FTLC
is a community specifically made for teachers by teachers to help lead future teachers down the right
path. The FTLC has regular meeting to help keep students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When it comes to the Korean culture, society as a whole expresses itself on a different scale than the
FTLC. Korean people are generally more conservative the most Americans they don't really show
any form of public affection, so when learning the social norms this comes to play. Korea's society
is based on Confucianism, which means respecting elders plays a huge part of society that everyone
participates in no matter the age. The FTLC however is different, their way of expressing has more
to do on how they speak and present themselves. Teachers are seen as role models so keeping up the
professional appearance is one of the main priorities. Since I want to be an elementary teacher, I
have to learn how to make class fun and engaging by using many motions and

My Future Teacher
Throughout my time as a first–semester freshman in college with the intent to become a future
teacher, I was offered several experiences that have solidified my decision about becoming a
teacher. I got the chance to attend Johnsonville High for four days which I learned just how much
fun you could have teaching at a school that has less standardized testing. Then, I had the most
amazing time being able to be an assisting teacher at Carolina Forest High. My cooperating teacher,
Dr. Ledford, was the best cooperating teacher I have ever had in my life. She was the idle teacher
that was an inspiration to me and her students. I could tell she had a true passion for teaching by the
way she taught her students. Dr. Ledford would always give interesting and fun activities to her
students to help them learn a subject. Being her teacher assistant influenced me to become a teacher
more than anything else. I want to become a teacher so I can teach in a similar way she does. In the
past, I have had teachers who did not really care about their students and did not put an effort into
their lesson plans. This is the opposite with Dr. Ledford. She genuinely cares about her students in
such a way it has inspired me to teach like her. I also got to attend monthly seminars where I learned
several things to keep in mind as a teacher; such as the importance of being professional and how
every student has the capability of doing remarkable things. Finally, I attended several service hour

My Future Career As A Specialist Instructor / Teacher
Daniel Pink makes a solid, science built point regarding motivation 3.0 in his book "Drive". For the
21st century we are in need of more people that allow themselves to have autonomy, purpose and
mastery in their life to become successful and achieve happiness in their careers. Able to look at my
future career as a specialist instructor/teacher in a different point of view. After reading every
chapter I was able to see how I can apply some of these methods to achieve my goals and also be
happy in my career. Most of us look at our future and think we need to pick a career that can offer us
a 6 digit yearly income, without realizing if that career will bring us happiness. Drive was able to

Basically he states we can find the most pleasure in something when we do it for our own desire and
purpose. By this it will make me closer to achieve something greater like happiness, health and
success all in one. When I look at my future career as a teacher I see myself helping others and
being able to have the satisfaction to see the childrens education grow each day. It's great to do
something you love but to get paid at the same time it's a satisfaction all the way around. When I
was looking at my future career I wanted to help students achieve their full potential I want to make
a difference in somebody's life.
Knowing I have the freedom to choose my career is just the beginning. The autonomy in my career
would be to be allowed to teach children to think outside of the box and not be subject to a certain
structure of teaching. There will be some challenges depending on the school's district policy and
the principal of course. Each school district and principal have policies on the required curriculum
and at what pace the students need to move on. But, there are some occasions where they give you
the requirements that have to be met with a time frame. At the same time give you the freedom to
teach it in your own way. Although I have mixed emotions about Pink's theory about autonomy I do
agree "We should focus on what people get done, not how many hours

Armed Teachers: Superheroes of the Future?
In 1999, two considered outcasts, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, walked into Columbine High
School in Colorado, opened fire and murdered twelve students, one teacher, while injuring twenty–
four additional students before turning the gun on themselves. In 2007, Seung–Hui Choo, a senior at
Virginia Tech, shot and killed thirty–two people and injured seventeen others, before turning the gun
on himself. It was the deadliest mass shooting at a school in United States history. In 2012, Adam
Lanza, shot and killed his mother then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut, before
opening fire and killing twenty children and six adult staff members before turning the gun on
himself. This was the second deadliest mass shooting in United States history. These three separate
shootings, all took place in what is suppose to be a safe learning environment, but all ended with
many casualties. It has heightened our concern and raises the question on the measures that can be
taken to safely protect our students and staff in our school systems: Should our teachers and
administrators be armed? Arming teachers and administrators in public and private schools does not
send the appropriate message towards students and parents and could offer more risk than reward to
teachers. In addition, teachers and administrators are taught to provide the students with educational
purpose while maintaining order and discipline in a comfortable, safe and friendly learning
atmosphere. Therefore,

Teachers Play An Important Role For The Future Of Adolescents
Teachers play an important role for the future of adolescents. As a teacher it is our responsibility to
provide the best material for the academic growth of students and create relationships that help their
overall development. The middle level movement is focused more on the development of
adolescents and not the just the academic growth. As teachers we have to prepare students for the
real world by teaching the quality traits they need in order to be successful. The modern teacher has
to create relationships with students. This builds trust with the student and the teacher. This will
increase the students' productivity and also increase the influence one can have on a child's future.

Adolescents are also very emotional, and they begin to show more emotion because of the many
issues and changes they are going through. As a teacher we have to inform them of these changes
and be able to advise and promote positivity when dealing with their issues.
The teachers play one of the biggest roles in the middle school for the development of students. One
of these roles is to find what is best for the students. This can be accomplished by teachers voicing
their input with one another find what's best for each student. An example of this would be the
Think Tank method which is used at Whittemore Park Middle School. The think tank is when a
group of teachers give their opinions and ideas on how to better the students. Once these ideas are
presented the teachers put them into action to see how it effects the students. I love how these
teachers are active within finding out what's best for their students. An example of this could be one
teacher noticing that a group of students are more engaged when they are involved in discussion.
This teacher can relay the message to their colleagues and now they can implement discussions into
their lessons. I feel that teachers are responsible for doing whatever it takes to provide students with
the best opportunity to succeed academically.
As a teacher one must understand that their school has to be developmentally responsive,
challenging, empowering and equitable. These

Personal Narrative: I Love Barney Books Around Pre-School
Tap. Tap. My fingers musically tap the spine of the book as I sit curled up on my bed. Thump.

In 5th grade, I remember that our visiting times to the school library decreased and so did my urge
to read. I almost forgot how it felt to be reading books of my own choice. The only time when I
would read was when my teacher would assign a specific chapter to read of the book Wonder, and a
worksheet. Filling out a worksheet after reading or while reading is like a punishment, the sheet is
not letting me enjoy what i'm reading. Instead it's made me a working machine, trying to pick out
small details throughout the book. As I recall, I stopped reading for my own pleasure at that time.
However the next year, 6th grade, in Language Arts we would visit the library once a month, or I
would visit during the quiet S.T.A.R time to pick out a book. I picked off where I left off in my
reading journey and starting reading again! I realized then, my interest in book genres had changed.
Why, I was more interested in books taking place in middle school/high school, meaning that I
enjoyed realistic fiction. Continuing on reading, I transitioned into 7th grade. In 7th grade I kept on
reading more and more, I even kept a chart of the books I read! My Language Arts teacher also read
along with the class with her own books and also encouraged me. Infact, both of my middle school

Teacher As A Future Teacher
I believe that as a future teacher I should be aware of signs that my students exhibit. For example, in
the reading it mentioned how a child who has experienced trauma may try to avoid situations. If
they have an assignment, they may get up and sharpen their pencils or go look around the
classroom. Knowing that children who experience trauma may exhibit these behaviors, I will not be
so quick to get on to the student. It is easy to say that a child is not following directions and call
their attention. However, some kids are experiencing difficult situations at home that they are not
even sure how to process. Instead of telling them what they should not be doing, I would remind
them of what they should be doing and encourage them to complete their task. Using kind words
and gestures are necessary in the classroom and especially with the children who do not seem as
self–confident. It is upsetting to know that with child trauma their perspective of themselves
changes. They are not confident, which enables them to take risk and do challenging tasks. If I see
one of my students having difficulty in trying to accomplish a task or try new things I will not
automatically think he/she have had a traumatic experience. However, it will be something that I
would make sure to do more close observation to verify my point. My biggest desire is for my
students to feel like they belong and that I care for them, which is why I will always praise them for
a job well done. I still like hearing

  • 5. Building A Stronger Foundation For Teachers And Improve... In an attempt to build a stronger foundation for teachers and improve the educational outcomes of future students, the Australian Government has introduced a literacy and numeracy readiness test. It is aimed at pre–graduate teachers to ensure that they have high enough literacy and numeracy skills to successfully meet the needs of the classroom environment. As a result of the new initiative announced by the Australian government, universities have added extra units of literacy and numeracy to the Bachelor of Education degree. They have been designed to further raise the competence and confidence of the new educators. The literacy and numeracy tests are a series of multiple choice questions that have to be passed before student teachers can participate in their final placement. According to the Board of Studies Teaching & Educational Standards, "the test will help to ensure that future teachers graduate with personal literacy and numeracy levels at least equivalent to those of the top 30 per cent of the population." (Board , 2016) The tests are not designed to find out whether new educators are advanced in Mathematics or have the ability to write scientific documents, they have been introduced to establish whether new educators are prepared with the needed skills set to be an example to their students. A high standard of literacy and numeracy is very important for new educators when communicating to parents, co– workers, and other professionals from the community. When ... • 9. What Model Of Structured Reflection Essay The WHAT Model of Structured Reflection: What? So what and now what? Taking time to volunteer at schools, childcare facilities, non–profit organizations, and various other local community services is not always a top priority of young people while navigating through their college or university experiences. Service learning, however, is "a work–based learning experience through which students learn, develop, and apply academic and vocational skills to address the real life needs of their local communities" (Bettina Lankard Brown). It offers an atmosphere in which students can obtain problem–solving, leadership, teamwork, and other skills necessary for their future employment. What? What happened? Include descriptive facts, what happened, with whom; the substance of the interaction. Over the past few months, I have been assisting a teacher of a, split, grade 1 – 2 class at Pioneer Park Elementary School for my service learning placement. Every Wednesday morning I arrive at the school between 8:30 and 9:00 am. My first duty includes helping the teacher hang up student`s artwork, from the previous day, in the hallway near their classroom. The bell then rings promptly at 9:00 am and, at this time, I hold the door open for the grade 1 and 2 children to come barreling into the school. After removing their coats, backpacks, and boots or outdoor shoes, the students settle down and stand in a straight line before the teacher allows them to go into the classroom. Once inside ... • 13. My Future Career As A Specialist Instructor / Teacher The book Drive was able to make me realize when looking at my future career, I need to ask myself, "What will make me happy for the rest of my life?" and not "What will make me rich?" Daniel Pink the author of Drive makes a solid, science built point regarding motivation 3.0 in his book. For the 21st century, we are in need of more people that allow themselves to have autonomy, purpose and mastery in their life. To become successful and achieve happiness in their careers. Able to look at my future career as a specialist instructor/teacher in a different point of view. After reading the book I was able to understand how I can apply some of these methods to achieve my goals and also be happy in my career. Most of us look at our future and think we need to select a career that can offer us a 6 digit year income, without understanding if that career will bring us satisfaction. When searching for a career our society is looking for how much money it makes a year and not considering if it's something they will appreciate for the rest of their lives. Some students are undecided on which path to take when researching careers and then they start by looking at the pay. They start considering a career for the money instead of the aspiration of being satisfied. Pink made me recognize my happiness and health depends on what I will do for the rest of my life. Motivation 3.0 is about me finding autonomy, mastery, and purpose in life. I need to find what brings out my intrinsic motivation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. What Is Who I Am Essay The question who I am or who someone is as a person is sometimes asked, but what if that someone doesn't know yet? So then you have to find out who you are as a person. Therefore I will be discussing my high school past, my writing past, and where I see myself in the future. These will help show who I am as a person and how I feel about myself and my writing abilities. Here is who I am. My history as a student could've been better because I would lose attention and I stopped caring in my classes and in all of my school work. In my 8th grade year I would sit at my desk and either sleep or just completely zone everything out. My junior year in high school was when I found out about what I wanted to do for my future career. I even went to my room and learned out how to fix my playstation four. • 21. Analysis Of A Sound Of Thunder Has this ever happened to you? You're sitting in class and you're staring into space, and you miss some important directions. You have to ask others around you what the teacher said, but apparently, the teacher has said to not talk, then you get in trouble for talking. It has happened to me. In the short story, "A Sound of Thunder", something similar to that happens to the main character, Eckels. He does listen but doesn't follow the directions quite as well, and then he gets in trouble. He paid a lot of money to go to the past and kill a dinosaur, and he got scared and stepped off the path that his safari guide mentioned staying in multiple times. He paid the consequences for not following directions. An important theme in "A Sound of Thunder" is that your mistakes can have big consequences. This is proven when Eckels stepped off the path, when Eckels stepped the butterfly when Travis shoots Eckels. Eckels stepping off the path causes things in the future to differ, and his decisions had big impacts. "But the same sign he had read earlier today on first entering. Somehow, the sign had changed..." (Bradbury. Lines 309–310). Eckels came back from the future hoping nothing had been affected by him stepping off the path, but the sign had changed. On the sign, the words were different than they originally were. A small thing, like stepping a little bit off the path, had reformed English words. Eckels had realized what he was done and he knew that this wasn't good, because if a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. How Does Grant Lose His Own Destiny In A Lesson Before Dying The way people decide and the actions they do determine how their life goes. The forces outside of our control do all the controlling in our destiny in my opinion. Anything at any given moment, anything could happen to you, whether it's good or bad. The point is that we don't know what's expected, so that means we have no control of what lies ahead of our lives. In ' A Lesson Before Dying, Ernest J. Gaines introduces a variety of characters with different ways of life. Some white people and some African Americans. Grant the main character besides Jefferson, is a teacher who is best used for helping out black men and what they can and can't do in the south today. Grant's reaction to him being a teacher was negative because even himself didn't believe that he was one because he didn't consider himself one. Him becoming a teacher of an example how Gaines shows us how Grant can't really control his own destiny. He also thinks that he's only good for helping other black folks. Grant ends up staying and his plans with her are slowly becoming a fantasy. Vivian then tells Grant that by him being a teacher he has a commitment to his community by spreading what he knows and like i said helping others. • 33. My Educational Experience As A Future Teacher Key Assessment As a future teacher I was very intrigued that I was able to go into the classroom and do hands on activities with the students. I was able to do my field placement hours at an elementary school that provided numerous opportunities for me to work with kids and gave me a chance to broaden my horizon with some new ideas for teaching. Overall I was able to focus on motivational skills, diversity, testing, I got the chance to work with children with learning disabilities, I was able to see the way the teacher interacted with her students, and much more. Although it seemed like 20 hours was a lot, I enjoyed being able to be in a classroom and prepare myself as a future teacher. I did my observation hours at Blackburn Elementary School, which is an elementary school for kids ages K–5. The goal at Blackburn is to give each child an equal opportunity to learn and strive to be the best they can be. Originally, I did my observation hours in a second grade classroom; however, I was also able to observe a kindergarten inclusion classroom as well. This experience gave me a lot of insight on the struggles of working with children who have learning disabilities and it also gave me great insight on ways to work with students. During my field experience I was able to observe how to work with students individually and in groups. I was able to see the difference it makes when you work with a child one on one and with other people. While I was in the classroom I was able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was when I first attended college and felt I was now truly on my own that I wanted to satisfy my curiosity and the desire to belong with my peers. I wanted to fit what I thought at the time was the "social norm", as discussed on page 486. I realized it depended on what peer group I associated with as to what was the "acceptable norm". This was a much more socially acceptable life style than the drug scene some of my friends in high school chose. However, I still had to make a decision of just how much I wanted to be a participant. Now that I am 21, I do drink occasionally but I do not smoke or do drugs. And I always try to be the responsible one, I always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, "emerging adulthood" has changed our family dynamics. Now that I am more independent there doesn't seem to be near as much to argue about. Communication is key, my parents provide assistance and standby guidance as needed and mutual respect. My maturing while in college has affected my relationships with all my family members on a more adult level. It has made me closer to my Mom, her guidance that I once ignored, fussed and openly denied, I now value. I talk to her daily about all my concerns. In retrospect, I now see that the advice that I thought was so dumb was full of wisdom and love. In other words, all the times I was rolling my eyes, she was right. We now share as adults, mother to daughter and woman to woman. She asks my advice and values my judgements as much as I do hers. I now better understand my dad's concern for financial matters and how it affects the future wellbeing of the family. I respect his money management skills that have allowed both my brother and I to attend college debt free and to take care of the mechanical day to day needs. I can have a mature conversation about social and world views, my car maintenance, basic matters of life with him and still continue to share our past love of going to the farm together. Into The Electronic Millennium Summary "Into the Electronic Millennium" by Sven Birkerts Reviewed by Farooq Syed, College of DuPage After reading Sven Birkerts' Into the Electronic Millennium, I have to say that I don't agree with his arguments at all. For me new technology is the future of mankind and it will evolve into something more superior and magical than newspapers. Whenever I have to do some research on a topic I usually surf the internet instead of going to the library and finding books which is less efficient. However, I have to say he has some really good points that I can't disagree on. I believe technology is going to be the key to future and will help us effectively. Whoever reads Sven Birkerts' Into the Electronic Millennium, can see how much the author hates technology and states that people will become dumb. Birkerts states," The complexity and distinctiveness of spoken and written expression, which are deeply bound to traditions of print literacy, will gradually be replaced by a more telegraphic sort of plainspeak." He also assumes that technology will make people dull and boring which I totally disagree on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My Personal Past Experience When I think of my own personal past experiences, I think of the most significant events and most likely think that those are the times that have shaped you as who you are today and who you are in the future. When my grandpa had passed away there were major effects that my family and I had faced. Difficulties like not being able to sleep at night and having lost someone who meant something special to everyone. When I think about the smaller challenges I have faced in the past and throughout my life, I can start to put together that even the most insignificant events that have happened in the past could make a significant impact on the person I am in my near or far future. Occurrences like going through broken bones, losing friends, or even a gym teacher might have a greater force than I may have expected. In kindergarten I decided that I was going to run to the playground to start a game that would be the highlight of the day. I ran up the stairs and onto the bridge but, suddenly my legs had decided to give out on me and I landed with my hands on the bridge with my thumb stuck in one of the small holes on the bridge. I didn't think my finger was stuck so as a normal child would do I stood up really fast and accidently ripped my thumb out of the bridge. It immediately snapped and my thumb started to swell and turn a variety of deep blues, purples, and blacks. • 53. My Experience At School Teachers Essay Optimism runs through my veins, along with a touch of anxiety. As kids we were told we could be anything we set our minds to. So, we decided our future, not knowing the outcome. Realizing I was growing up set a fear inside me. I asked myself how I was going to function in the "real world" alone? Anxiety still may have a hold on me but I anticipate my future to be filled with many opportunities. The first time I knew I wanted to be grown up was when I was five. I wanted to pick out my own clothes and dress myself for my first day of kindergarten. My mom used to fix my hair and my sippy cup, but I began to grow and did not need her as often. At school teachers would ask, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Hands immediately shot up and answers such as Doctor, teacher, and Astronaut were blurted out. Now everyone has different answers. I was so fixated on being an Artist and having my art in a fancy museum one day. But as we grow, our minds change. I then hit the stage of knowing who I wanted to be and planning every detail of my future. I was set on getting my diploma, going to college, get my career started, get married and have a couple of kids. It was my game plan to be successful in every aspect of my life. What I did not consider was the obstacles that could possibly mess up my plan. I did not know how I overcome getting my future started without the guidance of family, friends and teachers. • 61. The Future Leaders In Steven Doll's Only A Teacher "The future of the world is in my classroom today," Ivan Welton Fitzwater pens this powerful line in his poem "Only a Teacher?" (Zbick, 2017). This is a compelling idea that encompasses my belief of the role of the school. Students, as defined in this school, are prepared to critically analyze society and challenge societal norms; therefore, becoming the future leaders of the world. However, a school is impacted by other factors that can redefine this role of developing the future leaders. The curriculum is defined as everything that falls under the umbrella of the school (J. Corabi, personal communication, July 17, 2018). Therefore, the role of the school is defined by the curriculum of the school. This means that the curriculum can determine the number of extracurricular activities, clubs, advanced placement (AP) courses, and more that a school offers to the students. Furthermore, as the curriculum defines the role of the school the students become impacted by this defining role. Steven Gross provides a unique perspective on a student's area of learner development. Ronald Doll presents a variety of perspectives that about how the curriculum is created and the impact it has on the role of the school. These two educational leaders allow for further analysis on how curriculum defines the role of the school. Steven Gross used the word agenda to describe a curriculum, which is one part of a triangle the other two sides are instruction and assessment (J. Corabi, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Comparing Tomorrowland, Produced And Directed By Brad Bird Introduction One idea can influence the world, but how far can that idea go if it is spread by one person? Could an idea also present a reality better than the one humanity is accustomed to today? The 2015 film Tomorrowland attempts to reveal the answers to these questions in the real world as well as in an alternate dimension where humanity has a different outlook on the future. Tomorrowland, produced and directed by Brad Bird, follows Casey and Frank. Casey is a teenager who seems to be one of the only people in the world with the desire to find positive ways to affect the future. Everyone around her, from her father to her teachers, are complacent towards anything bad that can affect them. She is approached by the robot Athena, who introduces her to an alternate version of reality called Tomorrowland, where mankind creates technologies surpassing those of the real world by centuries. Athena explains that Casey's world is in trouble and that they must go to Tomorrowland to save it. In order to get there, Casey and Athena need help from Frank, a pessimistic recluse who used to live in Tomorrowland. He shows Casey one of his inventions in his home that predicts the world will end with 100% certainty. However, when Casey refuses to accept what Frank's machine says, the 100% chance briefly drops. The Germany scholar named Lay (1903) studied the relationship between psychology and the practice of teaching subjects in Language Arts and Literacy and math (Lay, 1903. P.1). Based upon Lay (1903) she believed that educational subjects could benefit from an experimental approach that explored the relative sciences in psychology, biology, and anthropology. However, the economical, logical, ethical, and religious experiences concerning the student and his community develop profound conclusions about the experiments (Lay, 1936, p. 139). Theorists like Lay (1903) will be constructing more research in the future for experiments as they search for answers to studies about the problems in our society. Education is the foundation of success in life, and teachers can make a lasting effect on each student's lives. I love to help others explore and learn new things, and teaching is a way for me to accomplish that. As a teacher, I will strive to promote positive learning, spark learner enthusiasm, and provide a strong foundation to my student for lifelong learning. As a future teacher, one of my many goals will be to develop a student–centered environment where students learn through social interaction and collaboration with the support of technology. I want to incorporate a number of teaching methods and approaches to accommodate a wide variety of learning styles and to meet the goals and objectives of the course or program being taught. Specifically, for English Language Learners in the general education classroom, I will provide more visuals and models, incorporate more group work, and incorporate the student's home language and culture into the classroom. Students come from many racial, cultural, ethnical, and social–economic status backgrounds. Because of this, I will use culturally responsive teaching which is instruction that acknowledges and accommodates cultural diversity. I came to three different topics: the health benefits of dancing, the evolution of dance throughout history, and life skills obtained through dance education. I decided to select the last topic because I thought that it would be the easiest one that I could have a personal connection with. With my research, I soon came to realize that I would have to look at information that did not directly relate to dance, and that I would have to make the connections myself. My goal was to find enough verified information that could back up claims that my argument was based on. Throughout my years as a student, I have been taught skills that helped me complete this project to the best of my ability. Since elementary school, I have been taught standard english conventions that helped me write my research paper, speech, cover letter, resume, letter of intent, as well as this reflection paper. Once I entered high school, my teachers have helped me refine these skills by helping me improve my vocabulary and teaching me different ways of sharing my ideas. This project has also taught me new skills that I can use in the future. Skills such as citing information sources, finding research in a variety of forms, and writing a professional cover letter that can go with my résumé. They are consistently wishing for additional time to complete their tasks and assignments. Schools, over the course of the years, have developed a schedule and has added an extra period called Tutorial. Tutorial is usually used in a block schedule. Instead of having six periods, students are now having seven altogether, but depending on a school policy the conditions of Tutorial may vary. The time for each class is deducted by a few minutes and this is used to construct a tutorial period. Tutorial is a period where students get to spend their time working on their homework. It is a period which lasts about a total of one hour. Tutorial allows students the ability to go to a class of their choice, especially a class they need help in. Teachers are also allowed send or request students to a class to makeup a test or missing work. • 109. The Problem Of A Future Elementary Teacher, Education,... Chaos is the first word that comes to mind when I picture a world without education. Despite the minority who truly do love what they do, educators all over the United States are falling out of love with teaching for too many reasons. However, it is refreshing to know that I am not alone with the want, the need, to make a different in kids' lives. As a future elementary teacher, my goals are to create better educated future generations and create an environment within my classroom that encompasses a sense of comfort for every child with a challenging aspect to push students out of that comfort zone, academically as well as personally, so they can get as much as they can out of the short time I will be their teacher. I believe that are a multitude of purposes to schooling, the obvious one being to academically teach and challenge students in the four "main" subjects: mathematics, science, language arts and social studies. I think that these subject areas should be studied, which they are, because it is important to learn the basics to function in society. You will need to know simple math like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will utilize what you learn from biology and chemistry to make sense of the world. As an American, it is probably good for you to know whom the past presidents of our country were and to learn about the horrible acts committed by leaders like Hitler and Stalin. • 113. My Future Career Of Becoming An Elementary Teacher Essay A Before this course, when I thought about diversity I would think about race almost exclusively. Through our class discussions and book assignments I have learned that diversity covers many more topics. This will help me greatly in my ideal future career of becoming an elementary teacher. Reading is such an important skill for children. Books teach so many different things. Like in one of the TED talks we watched, the speaker talked about only having books that portrayed white children. She felt like she couldn't connect to the books. She also found that people in America believed that she lived with extremely low income when she lived in Africa. This may not have to do completely with books but there are not many books that show stories like her own. One of the articles that I read for a reading assignment, Why Diversity in Children's Literature Really Matters by Jacob Hood, talked about a boy who was not white. He really loved adventure books but felt like people of his color couldn't be adventurous because all the people in the adventure books were white. Children have so many questions and are creating their future selves. If these kids are accustomed to many different diversities, not only race but also gender, family structure, socioeconomic status, religion, age, sexual orientation, mental illness, and many more topics, are less likely to "other" and stereotype people. • 117. Early Childhood Education And Education First, taking ED580 and spending time with the children has made it clear to me that early childhood (bilingual) education is what I'd love to pursue as a future career. Actually, I have long been interested in early childhood education and was intended to choose that as my major for graduate school; however, my parents urged me to choose a "broader" major such as TESOL so that I can have more career choices after graduation. Although I was not willing to, I finally compromised not to my parents, but to the reality. In China, people have the deeply–rooted misunderstanding that preschool teachers are just babysitters; as a result, the requirement of educational level for preschool teachers is rather low, namely vocational high school. It may sound crazy if someone with a mater degree wants to be a preschool teacher. Thus, preschool teachers together with early childhood education are largely undervalued in China. I always know that it is silly to undermine the importance of early childhood education, but I do not have powerful evidence to back me up to change people's thought. Now, I think I can confidently explain to others that because human development is accumulative and progressive, early inventions on the children's dysfunctions may have the power to change their life trajectories and their fates. Keeping in mind how powerful early childhood education is and how influential preschool educators can be, I become clearer about on what I'd love to devote my time and effort ... I got the chance to attend Johnsonville High for four days which I learned just how much fun you could have teaching at a school that has less standardized testing. Then, I had the most amazing time being able to be an assisting teacher at Carolina Forest High. My cooperating teacher, Dr. Ledford, was the best cooperating teacher I have ever had in my life. As teachers we have to prepare students for the real world by teaching the quality traits they need in order to be successful. The modern teacher has to create relationships with students. This builds trust with the student and the teacher. This will increase the students' productivity and also increase the influence one can have on a child's future. Schools in the past focused only on academics but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adolescents are also very emotional, and they begin to show more emotion because of the many issues and changes they are going through. As a teacher we have to inform them of these changes and be able to advise and promote positivity when dealing with their issues. The teachers play one of the biggest roles in the middle school for the development of students. One of these roles is to find what is best for the students. This can be accomplished by teachers voicing their input with one another find what's best for each student. An example of this would be the Think Tank method which is used at Whittemore Park Middle School. The think tank is when a group of teachers give their opinions and ideas on how to better the students. Once these ideas are presented the teachers put them into action to see how it effects the students. I love how these teachers are active within finding out what's best for their students. An example of this could be one teacher noticing that a group of students are more engaged when they are involved in discussion. This teacher can relay the message to their colleagues and now they can implement discussions into their lessons. I feel that teachers are responsible for doing whatever it takes to provide students with the best opportunity to succeed academically. As a teacher one must understand that their school has to be developmentally responsive, challenging, empowering and equitable. These ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My heart beats just like a drum. My sister's noise, quietly, if not stealthily fades into the background. As I continue to read, I'm getting closer and closer to the climax.... then... BOOM! Everything starts to make sense as I put together the pieces of this mystery novel. Ever since I can remember, I have liked reading, however I didn't love it. But my memory does not go back to more than Kindergarten. However if I do try very hard, I faintly do remember loving Barney books around pre–school. I would love reading his stories by myself, and with other people, especially my sister. One situation that I remember right now, happened to be quite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 5th grade, I remember that our visiting times to the school library decreased and so did my urge to read. I almost forgot how it felt to be reading books of my own choice. The only time when I would read was when my teacher would assign a specific chapter to read of the book Wonder, and a worksheet. Filling out a worksheet after reading or while reading is like a punishment, the sheet is not letting me enjoy what i'm reading. Instead it's made me a working machine, trying to pick out small details throughout the book. As I recall, I stopped reading for my own pleasure at that time. However the next year, 6th grade, in Language Arts we would visit the library once a month, or I would visit during the quiet S.T.A.R time to pick out a book. I picked off where I left off in my reading journey and starting reading again! I realized then, my interest in book genres had changed. Why, I was more interested in books taking place in middle school/high school, meaning that I enjoyed realistic fiction. Continuing on reading, I transitioned into 7th grade. In 7th grade I kept on reading more and more, I even kept a chart of the books I read! My Language Arts teacher also read along with the class with her own books and also encouraged me. Infact, both of my middle school Language Arts teachers encouraged me to keep reading. They would be surprised every time I announced that I finished a book, that made me want to surprise them more. Overall, this time period with my teachers helped me boost my reading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, in the reading it mentioned how a child who has experienced trauma may try to avoid situations. If they have an assignment, they may get up and sharpen their pencils or go look around the classroom. Knowing that children who experience trauma may exhibit these behaviors, I will not be so quick to get on to the student. It is easy to say that a child is not following directions and call their attention. However, some kids are experiencing difficult situations at home that they are not even sure how to process. Instead of telling them what they should not be doing, I would remind them of what they should be doing and encourage them to complete their task. Using kind words and gestures are necessary in the classroom and especially with the children who do not seem as self–confident. It is upsetting to know that with child trauma their perspective of themselves changes. They are not confident, which enables them to take risk and do challenging tasks. If I see one of my students having difficulty in trying to accomplish a task or try new things I will not automatically think he/she have had a traumatic experience. However, it will be something that I would make sure to do more close observation to verify my point. My biggest desire is for my students to feel like they belong and that I care for them, which is why I will always praise them for a job well done. I still like hearing ...
