End Of Life Caregiver Case Study Essay
Helping professionals such as doctors, nurses, hospital managers, mental health professionals,
relatives or ethicists may become involved in the process of assisting a terminally–ill patient with
regards to end–of–life decisions. Helping professionals can best respond to client's issues of end–of–
life decisions through active listening and an empathic position (Duba & Magenta, 2008).
Understanding the patient wholeheartedly should be practiced and considered as a significant aspect
of the professional fiduciary relationship. He or she must be competent to assist dying patient from
making the best end–of–life choices. Also, professional helpers must comply to the governing law
and ethical guidelines to safeguard the patient from potential dangers ... Show more content on

Proper Assessment It imperative to conduct a comprehensive and appropriate assessment to achieve
the paramount resolution for clients with end–of–life decisions. A competent provider is only to
provide service in the area that he or she is competent. Counselor are only to practice grounded by
the limitation of demonstrable expertise stated by both Ethical Principles of Psychologist (APA,
1981a) and the Specialty Guidelines for the Delivery of Services by Clinical Psychologist (APA,
1981b) (Bersoff, 2008). A proper assessment would lead to appropriate diagnosis, formulate
reasonable alternatives to support and assist the client who needs the professional service. The type

Escherichia Colisurile Test
RESULTS: Our main goal was to identify which lakes and ponds tested positive for Coliform or
Escherichia coli and to come up with some reasoning as to why this could have happened. Water
sampled from 6 different locations: Sebago Lake, Hinckley Reserve, Clarks Pond, a small pond near
the turf field at the University of Southern Maine, in Gorham, Maine, and two runoff snowbanks
both located on the USM campus in Gotham were all surveyed. These samples were taken into the
lab, mixed with a COLISURE packet and pipetted into a well plate. They were then incubated for at
least 24 hours at 37˚C to see if they would yield positive or negative results. The COLISURE kit
perviously mentioned tests for two things: first for Coliform in the sample ... Show more content on

It was concluded that out of the 44 wells pipetted, 13 were magenta meaning they were positive for
Coliforms. After placing both the 50ml tube and well plate under the ultra violet light, it was found
that only one well plate was positive for Escherichia coli despite the fact that the 50ml sample
mixed with the COLISURE packet was negative for Escherichia coli. The calculation for the total
volume dispensed in the wells was calculated and was 0.2ml x 44 wells = 8.8ml. Then, the
information gathered about the number of wells positive and negative for Escherichia coli was then
plugged into the equation that will result in the number of cells per 8.8ml for both wells positive for
Coliform and for wells positive with Escherichia coli. Using the calculation (1/V) x ln(total # of
wells/# of negative wells) it was concluded that there were 1.75 cells per 8.8ml in the positive
Coliform wells and 15.4 cells per 8.8ml in the one well positive for Escherichia coli. To find these
answers the following equation was used for both Coliforms and Escherichia coli: (1/.2) x
ln(44/31)= 1.75 Coliform cells per 8.8ml of sample, and (1/.2) x ln(44/43)= 15.4 cells of Escherichia
coli per 8.8ml of

Clothes and Their Power to Transform and Create Character...
The semiotics of costume explores signs and symbols present which help create a character.
Costume is a huge tool for the performer as it can convey a great deal about the character and places
them into the setting and time period. Costume is a form of expression that allows the performer to
change the way they are perceived by the audience. Colour used in costume can also translate a
characters persona or status. Colour is often manipulated subtly by directors with mise en scene.
Catholic church
In the Catholic Church symbolism and signs are very dominant and play a massive part in sermons.
The liturgical colours used for vestments are quite specific to the time of year. The range of
liturgical colours in the Church evolved from the spiritual significance that supports them. Colour is
very significant to the tradition of ritual of mass. The colour white is often seen to represent
innocence of the soul and purity this is heavily present in the Catholic Church in special occasions
such as Baptism, First Communion and Weddings. This could also be seen as a performance where
the person is perceived as innocent and pure so that they are ready to accept god. The colour white is
often used in performance and is seen as an angelic colour. Red is a symbol of guilt, anger, sin, lust,
passion and love across many cultures and is often linked to blood and sex. In the bible Isiah said
"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow."

1. Briefly describe the steps required to aseptically transfer bacteria from an unknown to a tube of
liquid broth. You might have to research this using the "T" button (Tell Me More About...)
To aseptically transfer bacteria from an unknown to a tube of liquid broth you have to flame the loop
or wire before you begin to sterilize it. You then remove the caps from the tubes and flame the
mouths of the tubes to prevent air–borne contamination. When all this is done, you have to pick up
the inoculum or unknown culture by running the sterile loop or wire down into the tube. Once you
got the inoculum you drop it into the sterile medium to inoculate it.

A pH indicator in the medium changes color to indicate acid production. Phenol red is red at neutral
pH but turns yellow at 6.8 or lower, indicating fermentation which is a positive result. If it stays red
or turns magenta or hot pink, that indicates that the pH level has risen and it is negative.
What results did you get?
The medium turned a deep red indicating a negative result.
8. In regards to the Christiansen's Urea Broth:
What was the name of the test that used Christiansen's urea broth?
Urea Hydrolysis Test (Christiansen's)
How do you interpret the difference between positive and negative results for this test?
The test is to see if the microbe can use the urea to grow. If the urea can be used by the microbe, the
pH indicator in the medium changes color to magenta or hot pink to indicate alkali/base production
which means that it is positive. If the Urea does not change color, it is negative.
What results did you get?
The medium turned a deep red indicating a positive result

Autobiography Essay
Autobiography
The title autobiography is ironic. This poem works on deception. It's simple but deliberate deceptive
as some emotions are quite dark. The poem characterises the illness and death of Louis MacNeice's
mother.
The poem starts off quite happy, the use of colour is important in this poem, as green suggests spring
and happiness. Yellow suggests sunlight, youth and pleasant. Black suggests horrific and ghastly
images and dark also suggests horrific and frightening images.
The rhyming couplets give us a sense of ease in his childhood but the refrain "Come back early or
never come" introduces us to loss and abandonment. MacNeice gives his mother happy colours like
yellow, showing that he loved her, but he gives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The refrain "come back early or never come" refers to his mother, who died while his young. He
wants her to come back very soon or not to come back at all, it could be a direct plea aimed at his
mother. The refrain shows haunting quality which emphasizes MacNeice's sense of loss. The
"Gentle, gentle, gentleness" of his mother is opposite to that of his loud father. It indicates his love
for his mother opposite to his father, who I think he loathed.
The bright colours yellow and green which we met in the first three stanzas have now gone in stanza
four. He uses gothic colours black.
The use of the colour black there is important, as it represents death and fear. In the same stanza
MacNeice says, "When I was five the black dreams came, nothing after that was quite the same".
Again, he was referring to his mothers' death as when she died he started to get lots of nightmare
and his life was never the same.
In the next stanza when he says that the dark was talking to the dead, this is personification. Its
shows of the child's terror. MacNeice also says that the lamp was dark beside his bed, this shows
that things that usually bring MacNeice comfort aren't anymore and they are bringing him darkness
instead.
When he mentions "Nobody, nobody was there", we can tell that because the word nobody is
repeated, it highlights the child's loneliness and terror. In the seventh stanza it says silent terror –
terror is such a

Determining The Ph Of Household Items
Determining the pH of Household Items
March 22, 2016: Sara, Sam
Introduction: Everyday household items can be seen as just "household items". However, it is often
not realized that we could actually determine the pH very easily. It could also be important to know
the pH in everyday life. For example, it is important to keep track of human pH levels. Some people
are curious to see the pH of their own body, which is a great use to keep acidic levels leveled.
Another use in real life is determining the pH of pools. Whether it's your own or a public pool, pH
indicators come in hand to make sure the pool is sanitary and safe. pH indicators are indicators that
contain halochromic synthetic compound which is added to a solution so that it can be ... Show more

An example would be pure water. Most of the time the pH is determined by pH paper but there are
also other ways to determine the pH. For example, in this lab, cabbage juice was used. Cabbage
juice is a great pH indicator because it can be homemade and easy to access.
Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose of this experiment is to use both cabbage juice and pH paper to
determine the pH of household items. This way, we can tell which products are basic and which one
are acidic. If we use cabbage juice as an universal pH indicator by comparing it to pH paper then pH
determined by the cabbage juice will be unstable because by using cabbage juice, it can be different
depending on how diluted it is.
List of Materials needed:
1 drop bottle of cabbage juice
Beakers (depending on how many items)
pH paper
Spot plate(s)
Household products (Dish detergent, coffee, laundry detergent, milk, tap water, etc)
Procedure:
1. In order to find the pH of each household item by using pH paper, the pH paper was placed on the
drop plate. Using the dropper, start by having the household item dropped onto the pH paper.
Immediately observe in order to spot any colour changes on the pH paper. To determine the pH by
using the pH scale and record the pH on your table of observations. Depending on what the pH is, it
could be very acidic, basic or neutral. Repeat these steps for the other products.

Unit 6 Assignment 1 Business Strategy
The difficulties I had in obtaining my best results when comparing it to the solution we calculated in
class had to do with my strategy. My beginning strategy was really no strategy, I just played around
with the idling and purchasing. That strategy allowed me to achieve throughput, but did not allow
for me to meet the fixed cost. After continually watching the habits of idling and parts that assisted
me in finding a better strategy. I noticed that the left A1 machine can only contribute parts to C7.
That means I should only buy parts for it when C7 is running. I start by purchasing 50 units in G1.
Then double digit numbers in E1 and C1. E1 should always have units running through it because it
contributes to both the 100 and 50 products demanded. I always ... Show more content on

When all the 50 products have gone by red G2 I switch the idle to red C2. Switching to red C2
assists in building parts to go to the 100. I switch blue E2 idle to blue G4 to pull the parts from red
G2 that built up to go to the 50 products demanded. I only switch green E4 to C4 when the 50
products decreases to zero products remaining. After the 50 products are taken care of I switch the
idle from magenta F7 to C7. Magenta C7 can access part from columns A, C, and E. A1, C4, and E4
have to have parts in them for C7 to run. This part can be difficult because only one green can run
while the other run will not get products to it. I found it better to let the time go slow enough to
make adjusts to the purchasing and idling. I made my products idle as little as possible. I always
made sure the blue was running because they're the constraints and they produce the most. Column
E was the hardest to keep stocked in units due to the fact it gives to both magentas. This strategy
allowed me to get my first cash exceeding the fixed expense of 6000. I further exceed the fixed
expense cost by 1800 dollars when I changed my strategy

Frozen Sociology
As stated in the textbook, gender socialization is the outcome of countless interactions, starting with
those between parents and children. At the youngest ages, of course, parents have the dominant
influence over this process. But as children age, their socialization continues under a variety of
influences, including their own personalities and their interactions with siblings, peers, schools, and
the wider culture. In adult life, socialization more often occurs in the other institutional arenas (page
167–168).
In the movie Frozen from 2013, there are three main characters. There are two females, Elsa and

herself for who she really is. She was gifted, but she didn't see that, with the ability to control ice, it

sister and her kingdom. The fear of her own power and to protect the ones she loves made her make
that decision. When her kingdom discovered her power she believes the best thing to do is to
runaway and hide, somewhere she is alone and no longer has to be timid, or be the terrified
princess/queen she was before. She has transformed into a happy, confident young woman, finally
free to be her true self. Like today in day, where bullying is a major issue, Frozen teaches to accept
and embrace your differences sends a strong message for kids. The second lesson is of, sisterly,
family love and how far family will go to protect each other. Both Elsa and her little sister Anna
make great sacrifices for each other, showing the power of love for one's family. Elsa had to grow

My Sperm Fever Case Study Answers
7_Why is My Sperm Yellow? (1000 Words) When sperm is white, it is considered to be in a healthy
state. Mild yellow discoloration may be present and should not be a cause for concern. That said, if
your sperm is deep yellow or green in hue, then you may want to speak with a medical professional
for diagnosis and treatment. Other symptoms may be present as well, so it is important to note any
associated experiences to better answer the questions that your doctor may ask. Why is My Sperm

The semen is old and likely discolored because of urine mixing. There is no reason to be concerned
about this, as there is no biological reason to frequently ejaculate. If you are concerned about a
potential reaction of a sexual partner, then relieve yourself a few days before intercourse. Treatments
for Yellow Sperm 1. Hydration Be certain to adjust your fluid consumption. Increase the amount of
water that you drink each day. You should attempt to drink a gallon of water every day. Your boy
uses water in nearly every process, and your sperm cells and seminal fluid require water to be
healthy and properly colored. Reduce consumption of soda, coffee, energy drinks and any other
fluid that is processed, dyed and filled with additional sugars. This will not only decrease this
discoloration, but it will also help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. 2. Alcohol and Tobacco
Immediately stop consuming alcohol and tobacco products. These poisons can reduce the quality of
your sperm. They may cause discoloration and odor. Excessive consumption of these drugs may also
cause fertility problems in the future. Instead of relying on these crutches, attempt to strengthen old
relationships and make new ones. This will help you end your reliance on these

How To Kick Drum
1) I would utilize my Techno Beams #701 thru #704 with some yellow color at almost its full
intensity and tilt them all the way up as I also load them with a color chase effect so that they can
have this alternation pattern with each other in which all of these fixtures would open and close their

close as possible with the drummer since I think it would be a great idea if these fixtures fire up with
the beat of the song as the drummer plays kicks his kick drum.

The Beauty of Advertising
In a society where we are encouraged to purchase the top brands, the shiniest jewelry, and the best
products on the market, companies have began to put themselves out there. One of the main ways
they have attempted to accomplish this is through advertising. Advertisements can be found virtually
anywhere ranging from the newspaper to TV commercials to billboards... The possibilities are
endless. Competition in the advertising world is fierce as corporations do their best to persuade their
audience to buy their product, convince consumers that their product is the best, and overall come

Not only is she a model for Revlon, she is an actress, producer and director. Starring in movies like
Tron, Cowboys & Aliens, and People Like Us, as well as popular television shows such as House,
Wilde appeals to those who might not even buy Revlon's products. This alone is a powerful tactic in
persuading viewers of the ad to buy the product. "Celebrity branding," as Wilson Dzisah labels it in
the European Journal of Business and Management, "is the use of famous athletes, movie stars,
music icons and television stars in promoting or advertising of goods and services" (Dzisah 200). He
claims one of the main reasons that celebrity branding is so convincing to the average consumer is,
"Celebrities are generally attractive, which helps persuasion when the product is attractive related"
(Dzisah 201). Generally, a makeup company such as Revlon will hire an actress that is associated as
attractive and that some might even recognize. If their products continue to sell, businesses will
continue hiring their models. Dzisah continues saying, "Advertisers recognize the value of using
celebrities, and think; they draw attention to advertising messages in a much cluttered media
environment," (Dzisah 201) meaning that celebrities used in advertising contribute to gaining
attention to a product.
Aside from using celebrity branding, Revlon also puts all of the focus on the lipstick color. By
blurring the background, it draws complete focus to

Prosopagnosia In Charles Thomas 'Chuck' Close's Life
Charles Thomas 'Chuck' Close was born an only child in 1940 Monroe, Washington to parents that
both held a sight for artistic endeavors. He is known to everyone outside of his family as 'Chuck,' a
name he has always hated. It was in high school where he made attempts at individuation that he
started referring to himself as Chuck. Only by an accidental dubbing taken place during an interview
in 1968 that this stuck as his professional art name. His father passed away when Chuck was eleven
forcing him and his mother to move homes for the fifth time by the age of twelve. Growing up,
Close showed difficulty in his academics and social life which led to being tested and diagnosed
with dyslexia. Out of his learning disability it became apparent that he suffered from another
disability known as prosopagnosia. Prosopagnosia is a condition in which he cannot recognize faces.
He stated that "people I look at all look immediately familiar to me, but I have tremendous difficulty
figuring out who it is and where I've seen them before. I never can memorize." He developed his
own system of memorizing by sensory deprivation and used art as a way to prove that he wasn't

Being A Clarinet Essay
To start off my coat of arms I drew a clarinet in the middle. This clarinet represents something that I
want to get better at in the next year. Recently I have started playing clarinet so that I could join
Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. I believe that if I keep practicing every day and make a goal
for a year from now to be at 2nd clarinet level, I can succeed. My motto is work hard a stay strong,
so practicing and believing in myself will help me to be an expert next year. I used the colors red,
blue, and green. Green symbolizes balance and growth which I need to complete my goal. Red
symbolizes passion and ambition which I believe are two important qualities needed when wanting
to get better at something. Blue symbolizes trust and peace. If I stay calm and trust myself I will be
able to accomplish many goals, not just learning clarinet. Next, in the top right corner, I drew me
saying polite phrases that I use every day. This is the one thing I have learned from somebody else.
When I was young, my parents taught me how to be polite and use manners. This skill that I learned
from my parents has helped me so much in my lifetime especially when being a guest or speaking to
an adult. My motto, work hard and stay strong, applies to this because you can do both those things
well with manners, especially if you need help, and can use manners to ask for help. I used the
colors orange, yellow, and blue. Blue symbolizes integrity which I possess with the ability to use
manners.

Qué es el color? Essay
Color

The Pop art movement was a movement that begun in Britain and the United States amid the mid–to
late 1950s. The movement threw fine art out the window and ushered a new era of art by including
symbolism from popular cultures like advertising, comic books and cultural objects. Its principle
point is to utilize ideas from well–known art cultures underlining one primary message regularly by
the utilization of incongruity. This art movement is considered a reaction to the ideas of abstract

Sex Change In The Bees And The Birds
In "The Bees and the Birds" chapter of Biological Exuberance, Bruce Bagemihl describes
transsexuality in animals as "physically becoming the opposite sex" (Bagemihl 37). There are a
variety of terms to describe transsexuality in animals, for instance, protogynous sex change is the
transition from a female to male, while protandrous sex change is the transition from a male to
female (Bagemihl 40). Males who have not undergone a sex change are primary males, while those
who have are secondary. These transitions are very common among different species of animals, and
some examples are the Parrotfish and the Magenta Dottyback. These dramatic changes can be due to
the effect of chemicals, physical maturity, or environmental factors.

females are smaller. If there are a group of males, some males will have more mating opportunities

they watch, can be used as symbolism and can even teach the viewer in a very short time to expect
something to happen when a certain colour is shown. The Director of Fight club and other films
such as Se7en and the Girl with the Dragon tattoo, David Fincher is very well known for working
closely with the cinematographer and his post production team to tightly control the colour in his
films and being quite innovative in his techniques to achieve better quality of colour and control
over his films.
David Fincher, the director of Fight Club is well known for the certain look of his films as he has
developed his own signature style, sometimes called 'reality enhanced ' as his style is natural
lighting but in a new almost HD way. He uses techniques such as LED lighting, the films are dark
and dank but colourful at the same time. As a usual template it seems he de–saturates the picture
then depending on the mood of the scene he warms up or cools off the image often times he uses
blue in the shadows to add depth and to retain the crisp blackness and teal to the highlights this
shows a strong understanding of how colours work together.
In Fight Club, David Fincher uses his usual hues of blacks, greys and browns but also adds in
yellows, blues and greens. Yellow is usually a happy

What Does The Colour Symbolize In The Great Gatsby
Analyse the symbolism of colour in The Great Gatsby.
In F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "the Great Gatsby" he uses many literary devices. One of the most
obvious is colour, and in this essay
I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920's
America and Gatsby's struggle for Daisy
Buchanan.
White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false
facades. In "The Great Gatsby" white symbolises royalty innocence and purity and can also be seen
to represent the way the wealthy falsely themselves. On the surface, the white symbolises their
innocence and purity, like when Nick first meets Jordan and
Daisy in "flowing white dresses." Daisy's name is also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of all the characters,
Gatsby himself fits best into this category; Gatsby lives in a green house surrounded by a green
lawn.
This colour light becomes his hopes in the novel. Barely visible from his west egg dock is the green
light that marks out Daisy's on East
Egg. He reaches towards this in the darkness as the guiding light to his dream. Daisy also forms a
key part of Gatsby's American Dream so the colour green is also associated with this idealism. This
reaching for the light also shows how Gatsby wishes to repeat the past. In chapter nine Nick
describes the Green light to how America must have looked to early settlers.
Yellow symbolises a desire for wealth and it also represents the old money of East Egg. Much like
Daisy Buchanan the old money are false and misguided. Gatsby though is also bad beneath his
character, showing that this also applies to the noveau riche people, as they to are yellow inside. His
gained his fortune through the drugs trade and crime, meaning there is nothing innocent about his
fortune. This goes against the American Dream, as according to this money should be a reward for
honesty and success.
The valley of ashes is associated with a grey and gloomy colour. This thin strip of land between west
Egg and New York City is a long strip of desolate land created by the dumping of industrial ashes,
representing the moral and social decay that results from uninhibited pursuits of

Painting Analysis : Cafe Terrace At Night, Van Gogh
One of the most important observations anyone could make while viewing a painting is the artist's
delicate choice and use of colors. In paintings, colors serve two different but equally important
purposes. One purpose is to draw attention to the painting, while the other purpose is to display
emotions. An artist that understood the importance of color in paintings extremely well was the late
talented Vincent Van Gogh. In his painting Café Terrace at Night, Van Gogh incorporates a vast
array of colors to arouse emotions from within the audience. In order to assess which colors aroused
which emotions two important questions must be answered. What emotions do the specific colors
used within the painting give off to the audience? How have the emotions behind the colors been
learned through normal human experience over time?
Most colors within the visible light spectrum hold specific emotions that are conveyed to individuals
by artists through their pieces of art. Van Gogh carefully incorporated both vibrant and dark colors
in his iconic painting Café Terrace at Night, of which span across a vast array of emotions. One of
the colors that stand out when you first observe the painting is the vibrant yellow used for the
exterior of the café. The color yellow is known within the art community as a cheerful and warm
color, helping the café to come across as an inviting gathering place to the individuals observing the
painting. Another color that Van Gogh used which quickly grabs

Why Parker Is Not A Social Butterfly
Parker stands just outside of the airport doors with a suitcase beside her, it was awkward for Parker
to try and maneuver her way through the airport's terminal. Every corner and service desk she
looked at she would see best friends, families, long distance couples, and sometimes even the
lonesome fliers. It was odd being around so many people, but seeing each person with a smile on
their face made her even happier to be here.
The Netherlands are nice, Parker decides. She likes the small towns where you can see the forests
and the big cities where you can see the horizon lined with glittering lights. However, most
importantly, she likes the Netherlands because of the people. Parker was not a social butterfly by
any means. In fact, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Parker: Can you stick your finger through the bottoms of your shoes again?
Nichole: Not yet, but they're close.
Parker: Haha, okay Momma Jin, I will let you go so you can have a good day.
After sending her last text to Nichole, Parker went straight back to Tumblr. Only glancing up when
the small doorbell rang, indicating that someone had come in. The small Starbucks stayed quiet for
about an hour until the doorbell rang out again, this time three girls walking in.
Parker watched the three girls with curiosity as they all giggled over something. Each of the girls
was shorter than her, Parker had guessed, one probably being near 5'4, another being just a bit
shorter than herself. Magenta colored hair was what really caught her attention. It reminded Parker
of Nichole. Parker continued to watch the three girls, sort of enticed by the magenta–haired girl.
"One day all four of us will come here together and we will finally get to meet her," one of the girls
said, sparking even more of Parker's attention.
Just as Parker was taking a sip of her tea, the magenta–haired girl turned around. Instantly Parker
started to choke on her drink. Quickly she looked away from the three girls and covered her mouth

Color In Federico Garcia Lorca
In this play, the writer, Federico Garcia Lorca has used colour to symbolize a lot of things. Colours
hold as much importance in ones life as fire and water. Colours have a pivotal role in this play as
well. The use of colour has made it very easy for the writer to explain what the exact situation was.
Also it has been used to show the idea of foreshadowing to the audience. For example the use of the
colour 'black' exposed to the viewers the idea of the deaths of Leonardo and the Bridegroom
particularly.
In Act 1, Scene 1, in the Bridegroom's house, the introduction states that the room was painted in
shades of yellow. Its gives a pleasant environment to the place as it is the colour of gold and wheat
which are considered as the signs of prosperity and wealth. However, the colour yellow is also the
sign on a traffic light portraying caution, and is then ironically contrasted with the deaths that had
taken place previously in the house. Also, as we see the mother's hate and anger towards the Felix
family as she believed the murders got executed, yellow also is associated with betrayal and egoism.

scenes he has been killed. The colour pink is also ironically used in the scene as pink is the colour of
love, but Leonardo does not love his wife but he loves the bride. Furthermore, he shows how love
was faked in the society at that time. Pink also represents tranquility, however it is again a contrast
as Leonardo was anything but calm when he entered the

Dynamic Equilibrium and Le Chatelier’s Principle
Experiment No. 2: Dynamic Equilibrium and Le Chatelier's Principle December 1, 2011 Final
Formal Results Le Chatelier's Principle states that "when a stress is applied to a chemical system at
equilibrium, the equilibrium shifts in a direction that reduces the effect of stress" (Gross, Abenojar,
and Tan 23). Moreover, it helps us "predict the direction of the shift of the equilibrium" (Silberberg
745). Silberberg also stated that there are three kinds of disturbances – concentration, pressure, and
temperature – that can be applied to a system at equilibrium. However, only concentration and
temperature were observed in this experiment. Part 1: Cobalt Complexes Table 1 shows the color
change of the cobalt chloride solutions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mixing the colors red and blue produced the magenta–colored solution. The reaction above is
classified as endothermic while its reverse is exothermic. Increasing the temperature caused the
equilibrium to shift to the right resulting to a darker color while decreasing the temperature causes
the equilibrium to shift to the left resulting to a lighter color. Conclusions Le Chatelier's Principle
states that "when a stress is applied to a chemical system at equilibrium, the equilibrium shifts in a
direction that reduces the effect of stress" (Gross, Abenojar, and Tan 23). The principle was seen in
this experiment; as a stress – in this case concentration and temperature – is applied to the system, a
shift in the equilibrium was observed. The principle also helped in determining the direction of the
shift of the equilibrium. Increasing the reactants or decreasing the products causes the equilibrium to
shift to the right and vice versa (Silberberg 746). On the other hand, increasing the temperature
favors the endothermic direction while decreasing the temperature favors the exothermic direction
(Silberberg 750). Answers to Questions 1. How does one know when a reaction is at equilibrium? A
reaction is at equilibrium when the rates of the forward and the reverse reactions are equal (Ladon).

Tevye's Fiddler On The Roof
The definition of a fiddler is as follows: a person who plays the violin, especially one who plays folk
music. However, in the play "Fiddler on the Roof", the word "fiddler" has so much more meaning. It
means tradition, balance, and it is also a representation of the people of Anatevka. The fiddler in the
play shows up fairly often. And every time it adds meaning to the play. At the very beginning, Tevye
tells us that the fiddler is a representation of the people of Anatevka: "But in our little village of
Anatevka, you might say every one of us is a fiddler on the roof, trying to scratch out a pleasant,
simple tune without breaking his neck." (Pg 2) And it is completely true. Throughout the book it is
evident that Tevye especially struggles to keep his balance while he tries to keep ... Show more

Speaking of balance, that's the other thing that the fiddler represents. When Tevye comes back from
the bar, and after speaking to the constable (Pg. 54), the fiddler comes into the scene and "...he
circles Tevye, and they dance off together." (Pg. 54). In the book, that's all it says. However, in the
movie you can see the fiddler beckoning Tevye and they begin to dance off together, but the music
slowly begins to spin out of control as the fiddler dances off the stage with Tevye and the next scene
begins. This indicates that the story is going to spin out of control. So that is how the fiddler
represents balance, because the music spinning out of control represents them losing balance. The
music that the fiddler plays represents their balance. Which ties into the first quote I mentioned,
where Tevye explains that each person in Anatevka is a fiddler on the roof "trying to scratch out a
pleasant, simple tune without breaking his neck." (Pg 2.) So, what the music sounds like is how
balanced they are. If they are beginning to fall off the roof, the music gets more intense because the

Chemical Reaction Lab Report
Discussion: At Q 1 A reaction is at equilibrium when the ratio of the product and the reactant side
are equal. This could further be seen by the reaction quotient depicted by Qc is equal to the
equilibrium constant, Kc, of the given chemical reaction. Given that aA + bB ↔ cC +dD, the small
letters being the mole coefficients and the big letters being the molecules of the chemical equation,
K_eq=([〖C]〗^c [〖D]〗^d)/([〖A]〗^a [〖B]〗^b ) is the formula for finding the Kc of any

double–headed arrow to indicate that indeed, the reaction could go forward and backward. At Q 2

Any shift in the equilibrium would be reverted back after the second solution would be added since
the acid would just neutralize the base (and the base neutralize the acid.) When 1 M HCl was added
to the 1 mL of 0.1 M K2CrO4, it caused the originally clear yellow solution into a yellow orange
color. When 1 M NaOH was then added after, the solution returned to its original color which was
clear yellow. The reverse occurred when 1 M NaOH was added to the 1 mL of 0.1 M K2Cr2O7 then
1 M HCl. When added with 1 M NaOH first, the originally clear orange solution became yellow
orange then back to orange again when 1 M HCl was added. This shows that what ever acid or base
was added, the counterpart was able to neutralize the added solution and revert the reaction.
Whenever HCl is added to the solution, the HCl will dissociate into ions, thus increasing the supply
of H+ that would cause a shift in the equilibrium. Similarly, this is what also occurs when NaOH is
added to the solution, the NaOH would dissociate and the OH would then neutralize the H+ thus
forming an excess of H2O present in the solution that would ultimately lead to a shift in the
equilibrium. Based on the net equation CrO42–(aq) + H+(aq) ↔ Cr2O72–(aq) + H2O(l), when HCl
is added to K2CrO4 the solution shifted right to form some K2Cr2O7 to relieve the stress from the
excess H+ from the HCl added. This can be seen by the change

The Color Of Color In The Great Gatsby
Throughout the novel, it can be seen that the most common color accompanying with Gatsby is
yellow. With this color, the author skillfully implies what kind of outer self Gatsby intends to show
before others. Yellow is the color of gold, which symbolizes money, materialism and high social
position. First, yellow stands out as the color that represents new money and wealth acquired.
According to Fitzgerald, "On week−ends his Rolls−Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to
and from the city between nine in the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon
scampered like a brisk yellow bug to meet all trains....The lights grow brighter as the earth lurches
away from the sun, and now the orchestra is playing yellow cocktail music, and the opera of voices
pitches a key higher" (Chapter 3, Page 21). Fitzgerald uses gold, a vivid representation of yellow to
symbolize the wealth gained by Gatsby and the immense desire for him to get even more and to
show it off to the entire society. In the light of the following events, it is easy to see how Gatsby is
blinded by his love for Daisy and therefore money. This evidence shows that he buys a large yellow
Rolls Royce to show off his new money. The band at his party plays "yellow cocktail music" to
show his fulsome way of living and life. Gatsby chooses the yellow color to decorate himself and
his house to show that he has been one member of their class. As Gatsby thinks that Daisy has never

Essay on Pleasantville
The movie ''Pleasantville'', written, produced and directed by Gary Ross, approaches a period in
America's history which subsequent generations idealise as a better and more stable society. He
portrays this time period of the 1950s as a time when people and life were less complicated; a time
when everyone knew their place in society. However, as the film ironically shows, this was a time
when people were more ignorant, racist and most certainly sexist. Ross demolishes this illusion of
the great 1950s American society by showing how its defects are gradually changed from black and
white to colour. Ross shows that 'change is inevitable' once a catalyst for change is added to the
ordered life of "Pleasantville". Once David and Mary–Sue begin ... Show more content on

Throughout the romantic scene between Skip and Mary–Sue, the viewer notices that Jennifer, as her
'Pleasantville' character, Mary–Sue, is the original catalyst of change within "Pleasantville". Without
her intervention change would not have been inevitable in "Pleasantville". This intervention,
however, was not a one–way process. The viewer also can note that Jennifer originally hated
"Pleasantville" but grew to accept it. This is clearly shown in the scene "From the Tree of
Knowledge" (01:10:00), where Jennifer puts on the coat, a symbol of "Pleasantville's" old fashion
dress. Supposedly because of the chill from the coming storm, she willingly puts on what she
originally first stated she would never wear. This act was the initiator of her changing attitudes.
Further by putting on glasses that symbolize "nerdiness", reading a book and rejecting an offer to go
out because she "has to study', Jennifer shows that 'Pleasantville' is changing her into Mary–Sue.
The arrival for the first time of a thunderstorm and rain to 'Pleasantville' is a symbolic technique by
director Ross to imply that those who embraced change had their former selves "washed away." So
Mary–Sue, Bill and many of the teenagers become "coloured" people after the storm. They become
different people no longer "normal" residents of "Pleasantville."
Bud is the second catalyst of change, yet most of the time when he does inflict change upon
''Pleasantville'' he does so

devolvement of power and the introduction of army sections, such as Napoleon's corps system.
These changes were the main factor in the outcome of wars during the period, but only where the
organised army had effective command and control in place. Well–organised armies could perform
tactics better; more easily carry out strategy and use transport more effectively to gain victory. Of all
of these elements, the most important strength of a well–organised army was tactics. First, organised
armies are much more successful in tactics, allowing them to win battles. The organisation of armies
allowed flexibility and speed. For example, at Austerlitz, Napoleon purposefully exposed a weak
flank, and Davout's army plugged the gap at the last minute, resulting in three times as many
Austrian casualties as French. This tactic was repeated successfully by the French multiple times,
due to the devolution of command, allowing multiple small armies to co–operate while achieving
separate aims. Flexibility was also seen in WW1, with the use of creeping barrage, which combined
multiple weapons in a three–stage multi–division assault. This was particularly effectively used by
the German army in the Ludendorff offensive, and quite clearly depended on organisation: previous
attempts (particularly by the allies) had ended in the second wave (infantry) being killed by the first
wave (artillery).

Theme Of Colour In The Great Gatsby
L1 Essay – The importance of colour in The Great Gatsby
In the following essay, I will write about the usage and the importance of colour in F. Scott
Fitzgerald's novel, basing my arguments on the text and giving examples from it.
Colour plays a vital part in The Great Gatsby as it helps to illustrate many of the passages and helps
the reader to create a clearer image of what is taking place. It also plays a significant role in the
shaping up of the characters as colour is also associated with them.
The colours that are most frequently used throughout the novel are green, white, blue, yellow and
grey. Each colour has a symbolic meaning and they add to make the novel more colourful and also
more surreal.
In Western culture, the colour green ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Involuntarily I glanced seaward – and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and
far away, that might have been the end of a dock. When I looked once more for Gatsby he had
vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness." (p.25)
The light is described as "minute and far away", which portrays the impossibility of achieving this
dream. Nevertheless, Gatsby seems hopeful throughout the entire novel.
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded
us then, but that's no matter – tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther . . . And one
fine morning – So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." (p.
171)
In The Great Gatsby, white is mainly associated with Daisy and Jordan and represents beauty and
innocence. When Nick meets Daisy and Jordan for the first time, they both wear "rippling and
fluttering" white dresses. White is often used to symbolize purity and cleanliness but also emptiness

New Dannonpa V3 Game Analysis
I created an album cover for the original soundtracks of the game: New DanganRonpa V3. An
album which contains all the soundtracks used in the game. This is a mystery game based around
high school students who are trapped in a school setting. In order to escape, students must murder
each other and lie through a debate without getting caught by the rest. The design of this game is
inspired by the infamous psychological horror film, Saw.
The design is largely made up of a colour that's close to magenta. The reason being that magenta is
used to represent the colour of blood in the game. There is also a hidden face within the texts. The
weird wing–like shape and a dot is actually the eyes of the game mascot who is also a representation
of the antagonist.
My design is partly inspired by two Pop artists, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. In terms of

The brighter pink and a darker green. Not only do the hues create a contrast, the smaller and bigger
shapes are also a example of contrast between shapes. All shapes and texts are tightly placed
together to represent a feeling of unease and a sense of being trapped. Which is one of the major
point in this game. There is no clear balance to this design. However, each lines leads to the where
the title of the game resides to draw attention to the title of the game.
As I was creating this cover, I wanted convey a bright and lighthearted feeling. Which is what the
producers want the players to think in at first. Yet at the same time, I wanted to hint a feeling of
being trapped in a mess. This game is targeted towards older teens who seeks thrills in a game full
of unknown pasts, mysterious murders, and deducing theories. Through my design, I believe I was
able to create mix feelings within the target audience. A cover which makes them curious as to why
a cover is able to have such bright colours, yet give off such an uneasy

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the most popular movies of all times. It's reach spreads
across generations and countries. At first glance Rocky Horror, as it is commonly referred to, can
seem like a crude movie that's sole purpose is to shock the audience with it's foul language and
sexual content. This is not the case; Rocky Horror brings attention to the gender roles placed on
women and men in society. This message is still important today because more than ever women
and men feel limited in their own bodies.
The opening credits identify to us who fits into what categories. Whilst listen to Richard O'Brien
singing the infamous opening song the cast list appears on the screen with the actors name, the
character they play and a gender role they fit into. Dr. Frank–n–Furter is a scientist, Brad is a hero,
and Magenta is a domestic. Right off the bat we get a sense of how the characters are going to act in
the movie with these titles. The scientist should be smart, feeble and nerdy, the hero will be strong
and not afraid of anything and of course the domestic will be complacent and compliant. These roles
are challenged in the movie. Frank–n–Furter is in charge, or at least thinks he is, of everything going
on in the house. He is a strong male who is anything but feeble. Brad turns out to be the one who is
the most afraid and unaccepting of what is going on in the house. Whenever Janet participated in the
singing or with what the aliens were doing he would get

Escherichia Colisurile Test RESULTS: Our main goal was to identify which lakes and ponds tested positive for Coliform or Escherichia coli and to come up with some reasoning as to why this could have happened. Water sampled from 6 different locations: Sebago Lake, Hinckley Reserve, Clarks Pond, a small pond near the turf field at the University of Southern Maine, in Gorham, Maine, and two runoff snowbanks both located on the USM campus in Gotham were all surveyed. These samples were taken into the lab, mixed with a COLISURE packet and pipetted into a well plate. They were then incubated for at least 24 hours at 37˚C to see if they would yield positive or negative results. The COLISURE kit perviously mentioned tests for two things: first for Coliform in the sample ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was concluded that out of the 44 wells pipetted, 13 were magenta meaning they were positive for Coliforms. After placing both the 50ml tube and well plate under the ultra violet light, it was found that only one well plate was positive for Escherichia coli despite the fact that the 50ml sample mixed with the COLISURE packet was negative for Escherichia coli. The calculation for the total volume dispensed in the wells was calculated and was 0.2ml x 44 wells = 8.8ml. Then, the information gathered about the number of wells positive and negative for Escherichia coli was then plugged into the equation that will result in the number of cells per 8.8ml for both wells positive for Coliform and for wells positive with Escherichia coli. Using the calculation (1/V) x ln(total # of wells/# of negative wells) it was concluded that there were 1.75 cells per 8.8ml in the positive Coliform wells and 15.4 cells per 8.8ml in the one well positive for Escherichia coli. To find these answers the following equation was used for both Coliforms and Escherichia coli: (1/.2) x ln(44/31)= 1.75 Coliform cells per 8.8ml of sample, and (1/.2) x ln(44/43)= 15.4 cells of Escherichia coli per 8.8ml of ... Costume is a huge tool for the performer as it can convey a great deal about the character and places them into the setting and time period. Costume is a form of expression that allows the performer to change the way they are perceived by the audience. Colour used in costume can also translate a characters persona or status. Colour is often manipulated subtly by directors with mise en scene. Catholic church In the Catholic Church symbolism and signs are very dominant and play a massive part in sermons. The liturgical colours used for vestments are quite specific to the time of year. The range of liturgical colours in the Church evolved from the spiritual significance that supports them. Colour is very significant to the tradition of ritual of mass. The colour white is often seen to represent innocence of the soul and purity this is heavily present in the Catholic Church in special occasions such as Baptism, First Communion and Weddings. This could also be seen as a performance where the person is perceived as innocent and pure so that they are ready to accept god. • 21. Autobiography Essay Autobiography The title autobiography is ironic. This poem works on deception. It's simple but deliberate deceptive as some emotions are quite dark. The poem characterises the illness and death of Louis MacNeice's mother. The poem starts off quite happy, the use of colour is important in this poem, as green suggests spring and happiness. Yellow suggests sunlight, youth and pleasant. Black suggests horrific and ghastly images and dark also suggests horrific and frightening images. The rhyming couplets give us a sense of ease in his childhood but the refrain "Come back early or never come" introduces us to loss and abandonment. The refrain "come back early or never come" refers to his mother, who died while his young. He wants her to come back very soon or not to come back at all, it could be a direct plea aimed at his mother. The refrain shows haunting quality which emphasizes MacNeice's sense of loss. The "Gentle, gentle, gentleness" of his mother is opposite to that of his loud father. It indicates his love for his mother opposite to his father, who I think he loathed. The bright colours yellow and green which we met in the first three stanzas have now gone in stanza four. He uses gothic colours black. The use of the colour black there is important, as it represents death and fear. In the same stanza MacNeice says, "When I was five the black dreams came, nothing after that was quite the same". Again, he was referring to his mothers' death as when she died he started to get lots of nightmare and his life was never the same. In the next stanza when he says that the dark was talking to the dead, this is personification. Its shows of the child's terror. MacNeice also says that the lamp was dark beside his bed, this shows that things that usually bring MacNeice comfort aren't anymore and they are bringing him darkness instead. When he mentions "Nobody, nobody was there", we can tell that because the word nobody is repeated, it highlights the child's loneliness and terror. In the seventh stanza it says silent terror – terror is such a

However, it is often not realized that we could actually determine the pH very easily. It could also be important to know the pH in everyday life. For example, it is important to keep track of human pH levels. Some people are curious to see the pH of their own body, which is a great use to keep acidic levels leveled. Another use in real life is determining the pH of pools. Whether it's your own or a public pool, pH indicators come in hand to make sure the pool is sanitary and safe. pH indicators are indicators that contain halochromic synthetic compound which is added to a solution so that it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example would be pure water. Most of the time the pH is determined by pH paper but there are also other ways to determine the pH. For example, in this lab, cabbage juice was used. Cabbage juice is a great pH indicator because it can be homemade and easy to access. Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose of this experiment is to use both cabbage juice and pH paper to determine the pH of household items. This way, we can tell which products are basic and which one are acidic. If we use cabbage juice as an universal pH indicator by comparing it to pH paper then pH determined by the cabbage juice will be unstable because by using cabbage juice, it can be different depending on how diluted it is. List of Materials needed: 1 drop bottle of cabbage juice Beakers (depending on how many items) pH paper Spot plate(s) Household products (Dish detergent, coffee, laundry detergent, milk, tap water, etc) Procedure: 1. Immediately observe in order to spot any colour changes on the pH paper. To determine the pH by using the pH scale and record the pH on your table of observations. • 34. Frozen Sociology As stated in the textbook, gender socialization is the outcome of countless interactions, starting with those between parents and children. At the youngest ages, of course, parents have the dominant influence over this process. But as children age, their socialization continues under a variety of influences, including their own personalities and their interactions with siblings, peers, schools, and the wider culture. In adult life, socialization more often occurs in the other institutional arenas (page 167–168). In the movie Frozen from 2013, there are three main characters. "Celebrity branding," as Wilson Dzisah labels it in the European Journal of Business and Management, "is the use of famous athletes, movie stars, music icons and television stars in promoting or advertising of goods and services" (Dzisah 200). He claims one of the main reasons that celebrity branding is so convincing to the average consumer is, "Celebrities are generally attractive, which helps persuasion when the product is attractive related" (Dzisah 201). Generally, a makeup company such as Revlon will hire an actress that is associated as attractive and that some might even recognize. If their products continue to sell, businesses will continue hiring their models. Dzisah continues saying, "Advertisers recognize the value of using celebrities, and think; they draw attention to advertising messages in a much cluttered media environment," (Dzisah 201) meaning that celebrities used in advertising contribute to gaining attention to a product. My motto is work hard a stay strong, so practicing and believing in myself will help me to be an expert next year. I used the colors red, blue, and green. Green symbolizes balance and growth which I need to complete my goal. Red symbolizes passion and ambition which I believe are two important qualities needed when wanting to get better at something. Sex Change In The Bees And The Birds In "The Bees and the Birds" chapter of Biological Exuberance, Bruce Bagemihl describes transsexuality in animals as "physically becoming the opposite sex" (Bagemihl 37). There are a variety of terms to describe transsexuality in animals, for instance, protogynous sex change is the transition from a female to male, while protandrous sex change is the transition from a male to female (Bagemihl 40). Males who have not undergone a sex change are primary males, while those who have are secondary. These transitions are very common among different species of animals, and some examples are the Parrotfish and the Magenta Dottyback. Colour in film is very important, it can change the mood of the film, influence viewers emotions as they watch, can be used as symbolism and can even teach the viewer in a very short time to expect something to happen when a certain colour is shown. The Director of Fight club and other films such as Se7en and the Girl with the Dragon tattoo, David Fincher is very well known for working closely with the cinematographer and his post production team to tightly control the colour in his films and being quite innovative in his techniques to achieve better quality of colour and control over his films. One of the most obvious is colour, and in this essay I will explore how Fitzgerald uses colours like white, green and yellow to help convey 1920's America and Gatsby's struggle for Daisy Buchanan. White features most strongly in the novel and becomes a way for people to hide behind false facades. In "The Great Gatsby" white symbolises royalty innocence and purity and can also be seen to represent the way the wealthy falsely themselves. He reaches towards this in the darkness as the guiding light to his dream. Daisy also forms a key part of Gatsby's American Dream so the colour green is also associated with this idealism. This reaching for the light also shows how Gatsby wishes to repeat the past. In chapter nine Nick describes the Green light to how America must have looked to early settlers. Yellow symbolises a desire for wealth and it also represents the old money of East Egg. Much like Daisy Buchanan the old money are false and misguided. Gatsby though is also bad beneath his character, showing that this also applies to the noveau riche people, as they to are yellow inside. His gained his fortune through the drugs trade and crime, meaning there is nothing innocent about his fortune. This goes against the American Dream, as according to this money should be a reward for honesty and success. The valley of ashes is associated with a grey and gloomy colour. In paintings, colors serve two different but equally important purposes. One purpose is to draw attention to the painting, while the other purpose is to display emotions. An artist that understood the importance of color in paintings extremely well was the late talented Vincent Van Gogh. In his painting Café Terrace at Night, Van Gogh incorporates a vast array of colors to arouse emotions from within the audience. In order to assess which colors aroused which emotions two important questions must be answered. What emotions do the specific colors used within the painting give off to the audience? How have the emotions behind the colors been learned through normal human experience over time? Most colors within the visible light spectrum hold specific emotions that are conveyed to individuals by artists through their pieces of art. Van Gogh carefully incorporated both vibrant and dark colors in his iconic painting Café Terrace at Night, of which span across a vast array of emotions. One of the colors that stand out when you first observe the painting is the vibrant yellow used for the exterior of the café. Colours have a pivotal role in this play as well. The use of colour has made it very easy for the writer to explain what the exact situation was. Also it has been used to show the idea of foreshadowing to the audience. For example the use of the colour 'black' exposed to the viewers the idea of the deaths of Leonardo and the Bridegroom particularly. In Act 1, Scene 1, in the Bridegroom's house, the introduction states that the room was painted in shades of yellow. Its gives a pleasant environment to the place as it is the colour of gold and wheat which are considered as the signs of prosperity and wealth. However, the colour yellow is also the sign on a traffic light portraying caution, and is then ironically contrasted with the deaths that had taken place previously in the house. Dynamic Equilibrium and Le Chatelier’s Principle Experiment No. 2: Dynamic Equilibrium and Le Chatelier's Principle December 1, 2011 Final Formal Results Le Chatelier's Principle states that "when a stress is applied to a chemical system at equilibrium, the equilibrium shifts in a direction that reduces the effect of stress" (Gross, Abenojar, and Tan 23). Moreover, it helps us "predict the direction of the shift of the equilibrium" (Silberberg 745). Silberberg also stated that there are three kinds of disturbances – concentration, pressure, and temperature – that can be applied to a system at equilibrium. Conclusions Le Chatelier's Principle states that "when a stress is applied to a chemical system at equilibrium, the equilibrium shifts in a direction that reduces the effect of stress" (Gross, Abenojar, and Tan 23). The principle was seen in this experiment; as a stress – in this case concentration and temperature – is applied to the system, a shift in the equilibrium was observed. The principle also helped in determining the direction of the shift of the equilibrium. Increasing the reactants or decreasing the products causes the equilibrium to shift to the right and vice versa (Silberberg 746). On the other hand, increasing the temperature favors the endothermic direction while decreasing the temperature favors the exothermic direction (Silberberg 750). Answers to Questions 1. However, in the play "Fiddler on the Roof", the word "fiddler" has so much more meaning. It means tradition, balance, and it is also a representation of the people of Anatevka. The fiddler in the play shows up fairly often. And every time it adds meaning to the play. At the very beginning, Tevye tells us that the fiddler is a representation of the people of Anatevka: "But in our little village of Anatevka, you might say every one of us is a fiddler on the roof, trying to scratch out a pleasant, simple tune without breaking his neck." Speaking of balance, that's the other thing that the fiddler represents. When Tevye comes back from the bar, and after speaking to the constable (Pg. 54), the fiddler comes into the scene and "...he circles Tevye, and they dance off together." (Pg. 54). In the book, that's all it says. However, in the movie you can see the fiddler beckoning Tevye and they begin to dance off together, but the music slowly begins to spin out of control as the fiddler dances off the stage with Tevye and the next scene begins. This indicates that the story is going to spin out of control. So that is how the fiddler represents balance, because the music spinning out of control represents them losing balance. The music that the fiddler plays represents their balance. This could further be seen by the reaction quotient depicted by Qc is equal to the equilibrium constant, Kc, of the given chemical reaction. Given that aA + bB ↔ cC +dD, the small letters being the mole coefficients and the big letters being the molecules of the chemical equation, K_eq=([〖C]〗^c [〖D]〗^d)/([〖A]〗^a [〖B]〗^b ) is the formula for finding the Kc of any given reversible equation. The symbol used in writing an equation that involves equilibrium is a double–headed arrow to indicate that indeed, the reaction could go forward and backward. At Q 2 Le Chatelier's Principle states that a solution at equilibrium will shift ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any shift in the equilibrium would be reverted back after the second solution would be added since the acid would just neutralize the base (and the base neutralize the acid.) When 1 M HCl was added to the 1 mL of 0.1 M K2CrO4, it caused the originally clear yellow solution into a yellow orange color. When 1 M NaOH was then added after, the solution returned to its original color which was clear yellow. The reverse occurred when 1 M NaOH was added to the 1 mL of 0.1 M K2Cr2O7 then 1 M HCl. When added with 1 M NaOH first, the originally clear orange solution became yellow orange then back to orange again when 1 M HCl was added. This shows that what ever acid or base was added, the counterpart was able to neutralize the added solution and revert the reaction. Whenever HCl is added to the solution, the HCl will dissociate into ions, thus increasing the supply of H+ that would cause a shift in the equilibrium. Similarly, this is what also occurs when NaOH is added to the solution, the NaOH would dissociate and the OH would then neutralize the H+ thus forming an excess of H2O present in the solution that would ultimately lead to a shift in the equilibrium. Based on the net equation CrO42–(aq) + H+(aq) ↔ Cr2O72–(aq) + H2O(l), when HCl is added to K2CrO4 the solution shifted right to form some K2Cr2O7 to relieve the stress from the excess H+ from the HCl added. • 109. The Color Of Color In The Great Gatsby Throughout the novel, it can be seen that the most common color accompanying with Gatsby is yellow. With this color, the author skillfully implies what kind of outer self Gatsby intends to show before others. Yellow is the color of gold, which symbolizes money, materialism and high social position. First, yellow stands out as the color that represents new money and wealth acquired. According to Fitzgerald, "On week−ends his Rolls−Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from the city between nine in the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon scampered like a brisk yellow bug to meet all trains....The lights grow brighter as the earth lurches away from the sun, and now the orchestra is playing yellow cocktail music, and the opera of voices pitches a key higher" (Chapter 3, Page 21). Fitzgerald uses gold, a vivid representation of yellow to symbolize the wealth gained by Gatsby and the immense desire for him to get even more and to show it off to the entire society. In the light of the following events, it is easy to see how Gatsby is blinded by his love for Daisy and therefore money. This evidence shows that he buys a large yellow Rolls Royce to show off his new money. The band at his party plays "yellow cocktail music" to show his fulsome way of living and life. Gatsby chooses the yellow color to decorate himself and his house to show that he has been one member of their class. As Gatsby thinks that Daisy has never loved anyone else any more except ... • 117. Essay on Pleasantville The movie ''Pleasantville'', written, produced and directed by Gary Ross, approaches a period in America's history which subsequent generations idealise as a better and more stable society. He portrays this time period of the 1950s as a time when people and life were less complicated; a time when everyone knew their place in society. However, as the film ironically shows, this was a time when people were more ignorant, racist and most certainly sexist. Ross demolishes this illusion of the great 1950s American society by showing how its defects are gradually changed from black and white to colour. Ross shows that 'change is inevitable' once a catalyst for change is added to the ordered life of "Pleasantville". Once David and Mary–Sue begin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the romantic scene between Skip and Mary–Sue, the viewer notices that Jennifer, as her 'Pleasantville' character, Mary–Sue, is the original catalyst of change within "Pleasantville". Without her intervention change would not have been inevitable in "Pleasantville". This intervention, however, was not a one–way process. The viewer also can note that Jennifer originally hated "Pleasantville" but grew to accept it. This is clearly shown in the scene "From the Tree of Knowledge" (01:10:00), where Jennifer puts on the coat, a symbol of "Pleasantville's" old fashion dress. Supposedly because of the chill from the coming storm, she willingly puts on what she originally first stated she would never wear. This act was the initiator of her changing attitudes. Further by putting on glasses that symbolize "nerdiness", reading a book and rejecting an offer to go out because she "has to study', Jennifer shows that 'Pleasantville' is changing her into Mary–Sue. The arrival for the first time of a thunderstorm and rain to 'Pleasantville' is a symbolic technique by director Ross to imply that those who embraced change had their former selves "washed away." So Mary–Sue, Bill and many of the teenagers become "coloured" people after the storm. They become different people no longer "normal" residents of "Pleasantville." Bud is the second catalyst of change, yet most of the time when he does inflict change upon ''Pleasantville'' he does so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their beautiful long fins flowing gracefully in the water and dramatic colors are fascinating and inspiring. No doubt lionfish are one of popular aquarium fishes as well as painting subjects. As my final project, I want to create a captivating image, while enjoying exploration of the beauty and details of lionfish. For the underwater backdrop, I want to suggest a coral reef environment. A solid or simple blue underwater backdrop would be sufficient to show the beauty of lionfish, but it is too plain for my taste. I decide to paint underwater ripples along with a brain coral. THE BEET TEST pay attention to the time when you eat raw or roasted beets, then wait for them to be eliminated. Most people who are regular illuminate the beets 12 to 24 hours later. If it takes longer it's a strong indication that you're constipated and you need to add fiber and water to your diet. The Organization Of Armies During The Period Of 1789 The organisation of armies during the period of 1789 – 1945 changed drastically, with the increasing devolvement of power and the introduction of army sections, such as Napoleon's corps system. These changes were the main factor in the outcome of wars during the period, but only where the organised army had effective command and control in place. Well–organised armies could perform tactics better; more easily carry out strategy and use transport more effectively to gain victory. Of all of these elements, the most important strength of a well–organised army was tactics. First, organised armies are much more successful in tactics, allowing them to win battles. The organisation of armies allowed flexibility and speed. For example, at Austerlitz, Napoleon purposefully exposed a weak flank, and Davout's army plugged the gap at the last minute, resulting in three times as many Austrian casualties as French. This tactic was repeated successfully by the French multiple times, due to the devolution of command, allowing multiple small armies to co–operate while achieving separate aims. Flexibility was also seen in WW1, with the use of creeping barrage, which combined multiple weapons in a three–stage multi–division assault. This was particularly effectively used by the German army in the Ludendorff offensive, and quite clearly depended on organisation: previous attempts (particularly by the allies) had ended in the second wave (infantry) being killed by the first wave (artillery). ... Scott Fitzgerald's novel, basing my arguments on the text and giving examples from it. Colour plays a vital part in The Great Gatsby as it helps to illustrate many of the passages and helps the reader to create a clearer image of what is taking place. It also plays a significant role in the shaping up of the characters as colour is also associated with them. The colours that are most frequently used throughout the novel are green, white, blue, yellow and grey. Each colour has a symbolic meaning and they add to make the novel more colourful and also more surreal. In Western culture, the colour green ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At first glance Rocky Horror, as it is commonly referred to, can seem like a crude movie that's sole purpose is to shock the audience with it's foul language and sexual content. This is not the case; Rocky Horror brings attention to the gender roles placed on women and men in society. This message is still important today because more than ever women and men feel limited in their own bodies. The opening credits identify to us who fits into what categories. The scientist should be smart, feeble and nerdy, the hero will be strong and not afraid of anything and of course the domestic will be complacent and compliant. These roles are challenged in the movie. Frank–n–Furter is in charge, or at least thinks he is, of everything going on in the house. He is a strong male who is anything but feeble.
