palms by holding the mug/cup?
2. When you go to a beach/resort/ river to swim, do you
want the heat from the sun warming your face?
3. Have you ever experienced your clothes being
burned while ironing it?
4. While cooking, have you experienced getting burned

11. UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES
• Convection- is a way for heat to move, also referred to as
a heat transfer mechanism.
• Hotness- high temperature.
• Temperature - the degree or intensity of heat present in a
substance or object
• Thermometer- an instrument for measuring and indicating
temperature
• Insulator - a substance which does not readily allow the
passage of heat or sound.
12. UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES
• Conduction - the process by which heat or electricity is
directly transmitted through a substance
• Thermal Energy - refers to the energy contained within
a system that is responsible for its temperature.
• Radiation- the emission of energy
as electromagnetic waves or as
moving subatomic particles
• Coldness- the quality or condition of being of or at a
low or relatively low temperature

17. HEAT TRANSFER
• is a phenomenon related
to a change in temperature
or a change in an object’s
relative hotness or
coldness.
• There are three basic
heat transfer forms:
radiation, conduction,
and convection.
18. RADIATION
• the heat from the sun
travels by waves
through space
towards the Earth,
which will absorb the
heat, so the Earth
becomes warm. This
process is called
radiation.
19. CONDUCTION
• The particles or molecules of
substances in the solid-state
are very close to each other.
As the molecules in one part
of a solid are heated, the
heat travels to the nearest
object. These molecules, in
turn, transfer the heat to the
next molecules. This process
is called conduction.
22. HOW DOES HEAT
TRANSFER BY RADIATION
OCCUR?
•Heat transfer by radiation
occurs even in the absence
of matter.
23. HOW IS IT DIFFERENT TO
CONDUCTION?
• Radiation is different from
conduction in a way that it can be
transferred even without the
presence of an object, just like we
felt the heat of the sun even its
distance.
