Music Magazine Masthead’s
1.
2. I like how the bright colours really pop out from
the rest of the text and it gives the quite
ordinary font something individual and fun. It
also makes the masthead memorable and eye-
catching. This masthead would probably
appeal to a wide audience as primary colours
have been used which are very gender neutral,
but I think it would appeal to a younger age
range.
3. This mast head is black and is rather bold. It
gives off the impression of a smashed mirror or
glass which gives it a different and eye-
catching effect. I think that the audience would
be quite young around 16-19, I also see it a
swaying more towards men because the
design is rather heavy and destructive and it
also gives me the impression of rock or heavy
metal which could also sway towards men but
it could also appeal to women as the colours is
very neutral.
4. This masthead is very simple with the white
colouring and font, but the font is very bold as well
as the white which would stand out on magazine
cover. I like how this font has been designed to
look 3D as it makes it stand out even more on a
magazine and it also gives a cleaner and more
professional look. Much like the Billboard and
NME mast head I feel like tis is rather gender
neutral because of the colour and font it doesn't
really follow any gender stereotypes.
5. Much like ‘Billboard’ and ‘Mojo’ NME is rather gender
neutral as the red doesn't fit to a gender stereotype
and the bold font is very simple and clear and doesn't
show any signs of a feminine or masculine font. I feel
like this font is very aesthetically pleasing as each
letter is the same size and the even spacing's and
boldness make it look very professional and clean.
This font would stand out very clearly on the front
cover of a magazine as the red stands out and so
does the bold and clear font.
