This document analyzes the seismic performance of a 15-story building provided with different types of steel braces, including crescent-shaped braces (CSBs), K-shaped braces, and V-shaped braces. A finite element model of the building was created in ETABS software and dynamic analysis was performed under different ground motions. The maximum displacement and drift were compared for models with the different brace configurations. The results showed that CSBs significantly reduced the seismic response of the building compared to K-shaped and V-shaped braces, with maximum reductions in displacement of around 20% and drift of around 20%. Therefore, the study concluded that CSBs provide more effective seismic resistance than traditional brace types for high-rise buildings.
