This document presents a study on aerodynamic power control of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) using a hybrid fuzzy logic pitch angle controller. Conventional PI and PID controllers are used but have performance issues when operating points change. The proposed method uses a hybrid fuzzy logic controller with generator power and speed as inputs to determine the pitch angle reference for regulating turbine output power. Simulations were conducted on a 2MW PMSG wind turbine system at wind speeds of 12m/s and 14m/s. Results show the hybrid fuzzy logic controller maintains power output, speed and torque better than PI controllers, improving efficiency.
